Someone victor holds in high esteem.
26, Avoiding promotional days does not mean that you will avoid the crowds. As a result of their success, Yankee Stadium is at near capacity whether or not something is being giving away. Fans want the "steak and not the sizzle".
Avoiding promotional games can have its drawbacks, for I know someone that sold their tickets to a Beenie Baby promotion and missing seeing in person Wells' perfect game.
Demand also exceeds supply at Yankee Stadium too.
With a partial season package I'm sure 26 is not sitting in 2006 in the same location he was sitting in in 1996.
Same goes for post-season ticket availability.
Susie, For most part I don't attend a Yankee game based upon that day's promotion. I consider any promotion on the day I attend nothing more than an added bonus.
Only once did I purchase tickets for the McFarlane figure promotion.
For the games I don't attend with HHL, HHL usually gives my sons/his nephews tickets as birthday presents or I purchase the games that he can not attend.
26, Yankee Stadium is also a landmark but the Yankees are building a modern park (with less seats).
As far as I know plans to build a modern replica of Fenway (with more seats) have gone no where.

It is totally illogical to become attached to a piece of real estate for sentimental reasons.
Susie, Skunksyard is right about the ticket specials.
http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/nyy/ticketing/specials.jsp#five
But,I can guarantee that a Red Sox game will not be part of a ticket promotion. Nor will the Yankees ever schedule Bat Day on the day the Yankees play the Red Sox.
Susie, All of the giveaways have a Corporate Sponsor. Doesn't cost the Yankee's a dime.
http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/promotions.jsp?c_id=nyy#September
I was told that the value of the giveway determines which player gets introduced with the sponsor's representative.
The large contributors get introduced with Derek Jeter the smaller contributors get introduced with Brian Bruney.
PS: My wife used the same Yankee gym bag as a diaper bag for all three of my children.
Skunksyard, It's going to be interesting to see what the Red Sox do to this winter to re-tool for 2007.
Where do they start: pitching (starting and relief), outfield, infield, free agents, etc?
Varitek has to be the real MVP of the Red Sox. Team was never the same once he went out with injuries.
Taking 3 of 4 does mean much, other than a moral victory. Torre would have managed much differently had the standings in the AL East been on the line.
Coupled with some of the highest ticket prices in MLB, it's no wonder Red Sox fans get upset when their team performs poorly.
http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/bos/ticketing/seating_pricing.jsp
If it was a meaningful series that decided the AL East Torre would have managed the games differently.
All regulars, including Rivera would have received more playing time.
Lead cut to 9.5 games. How concerned is Steinbrenner?

What's next a Barry Bonds autograhed ball inscribed "I'm sorry I took performancing enhancing drugs"?
Red Sox beat Yankees to cut lead to 10.5 games.
Susie, It's a wrist band dedicated to Lester #62.
This has to be good news for Proctor.
Otherwise Torre might use Proctor until his arm falls off.
Brian Bruney walked the first two men he faced, forcing in a run, and then struck out five in a row. He pitched one-third of an inning in the nightcap and has a 0.61 ERA.
"We've had enough sampling of him to really feel good about what he does," Torre said.
Susie, Depending upon the Jet's score add another hour to the time it normally takes you to get to Yankee Stadium.
You may have to wait for parklng lot to empty out first.
Dinner at Arthur Avenue is always an option if you get there too early.
Last time I go to the second game of a day-night doubleheader.
It seems that all 55,000 fans left there homes when the first game ended and arrived at Yankee Stadium at the exact same time.
Back-ups on the GWB, Route 87, the parking lot and the front gate.
Finally got to my seats in the top of the third inning.
At least the seats were behind home plate.
Soxfan, Is this what you are talking about?
Excerpted from today's NY Post...
... this current series feels like the most meaningless Red Sox-Yankees matchup since Dooley Womack was trying to retire Joe Foy.
Susie, I was originally thinking about the type of vehicle. But the answer could be both.
What the extra money buys MLB ballplayers today.
Daily News revealed that a sexy Queens model was in Pavano's Porsche when he crashed it in Florida.
Thirty one years ago, on May 4, 1975, Cleon Jones was caught sleeping in a van in Florida with a woman who was not his wife.
Chances of Susie being there for the clincher have increased...
Red Sox and Yankees washed out, will play back-to-back doubleheaders
Preview - Box Score - Recap
September 15, 2006
NEW YORK (AP) -- Daylong rain caused Friday night's game between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees to be postponed, and the teams will make it up Sunday as part of their second straight day-night doubleheader.
New York and Boston already had been scheduled for a split doubleheader Saturday to make up a June 7 rainout.
The Yankees would clinch their ninth straight AL East title by winning three of four from the Red Sox, coupled with a Toronto loss.
Back-to-back day-night doubleheaders has to be tough on the players.
That's why they get paid the big bucks, and it's also good to have an expanded roster.
Amazing... First time this season that Yankees have won six games in a row.
26, For this team there is nothing listed after October 1, 2006.

Should I tell Mr. Bonds that I am receiving his emails in error.
After the age of twenty-one, your body slowly stops releasing an important hormone known as H G H (Human Growth Hormone).
The reduction of H G H, which regulates levels of other hormones in the body (including testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, and melatonin) is directly responsible for many of the most common signs of growing old, such as wrinkles, gray hair, decreased energy, and diminished sexual function.

26, Yankee Stadium schedule lists dates for ALDS, ALCS and World Series.
Shea Stadium schedule stops at game one of NLCS.

26, This might help.

Which games do you have tickets for?
Linchuck, I thought vic was receiving treatment for a fruit bat bite. lol
Linchuck, Will there be a similar reaction in Boston to the Globe article calling Jeter the MVP?
Cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published in several European newspapers caused extreme outrage among Muslims.
26, However broadcast schedule dictates which teams will play on the first day.
I will also be out-of-town the first week of the division series.
26, Have you noticed that Jeter is not getting the same amount of attention as Utley?
Susie, Was it from Neb?
A 'sluggish' arm kept Curt Schilling from throwing a side session yesterday, meaning there is little to no chance the Red Sox ace will be able to pitch this weekend in New York against the Yankees.
-- Boston Herald
I guess ther has been very little to discuss about the Red Sox in the last few weeks.
victor has gone into exile.

Saturday's Match-ups - Boston @ New York
Game1
BOS: C. Schilling (14-7, 4.13)
NYY: J. Wright (10-7, 4.60)
Game 2
BOS: J. Tavárez (3-4, 4.74)
NYY: R. Johnson (17-10, 4.84)
Schilling vs. Johnson would be a better choice.
Linchuck, I will be at the Saturday's second game.
Hopefully, we will get to see the Yankee regulars against the Red Sox.
It would be the second year in a row that the Red Sox witnessed the Yankees winning to clinch the AL East.
Would be nice to see them clinch.
Susie, Absolutely correct...
There was no storybook finish for the Trenston Thunder in the post-season. Trenton lost its best-of-five game series to the Portland Sea Dogs three games to one.
At least one Red Sox team beat a Yankee affiliate.
Linchuck, I would suggest that the Yankees have Lidle throw batting practice to Sheffield.
If Jeter is awarded the MVP he should thank Cashman for signing Damon.
The move back to the number two spot in the lineup has been very very good for Jeter.
Susie, If the Oracle from Ocala every returns to jump on the Jeter MVP bandwagon then that proverbial place has really frozen over. lol
SSKILLZ1, Be careful for what you wish for...
I don't believe you would be too happy if Twins sweep Mets in World Series.
How many times does Jeter hit behind a runner or sacrifice to advance a runner into scoring position. It's the batter behind Jeter that gets the RBI, although Jeter played a big part in manufacturing the run.
