Susie, 26 can answer that question. He would have invited SoxFan but he didn't think he would attend a game that did not have the Red Sox.
Steelers, Maybe I will be going to Game 5 after all.
Susie, More important which Kenny Rogers will show up.
Hopefully the version that pitched for the 1996 Yankees and 1999 Mets.
SSKILLZ1, What Marlins have done in past defies logic. So I don't think an intra-division trade is out of the question.
Agreed, Marlins would want a pitcher in addition to Milledge for Willis. Could be Pelfrey or Maine.
SSKILLZ1, Maine is pitching because Mets' older pitchers broke down at the end. Wouldn't be surprised if Mets offer Milledge to Marlins for Willis.
Zito should also be warmly received by Minaya this winter.
Susie, Does having Kenny Rogers start ALDS Game 3 for the Tigers offset Randy Johnson pitching with a herniated disk?
Susie, I am out of town on business.
Although I am planning to attend Game 5, I doubt there will be a 5th ALDS game.
There is always the ALCS and NLCS next week and the World Series to follow.
However I can't look too far ahead. I remember how I thought that I was going to 2004 WS when Yankees went up 3-0.
Susie, Maine has been quite dependable for the Mets.
Remember this is not the same El Duque we remember with the Yankees.
Susie, If the Cubs hire Showalter for 2007 and fire him at the end of the season, does that mean that the Cubs will win the World Series in 2008?
Billy the Kid, How important is Trachsel now?
SSKILLZ1, My comment was rhetorical reponse to a number of MVP discussions held on this board throughout the season.
A few people commented that it was difficult for them to evaluate Jeter as an MVP, because they don't see him play all the time.
Linchuck, His performance last night should dispell any notions about Jeter being over-rated.
For those that don't see Jeter every day, last nights performance is what we see over the course of 162 games.
More likely Chicago.
Possible World Series Game 7 match-up...

PegnVA, Unfortunately money is often the deciding factor that determines whether a professional athlete knows when to hang it up, and go out as a winner.
Kevin Brown is one recent example of an athelete that put dollars before pride.
The unanswered question is whether the bad back forces Randy Johnson announce his retirement after the playoffs. Or does he return in 2007 for the remaining $16 million on his contract.
Plugger when my wife had an epidural she was numb from the waist down for several hours.
I would guess it's a little difficult to pitch if you can't stand on your feet.
Linchuck, Yankees last regular season against Blue Jays and Red Sox last three are against Orioles.
Yankees could help Boston finish second.
To paraphrase something often said in New York, "That and $1.25 will buy you a ride on all stations on the Blue, Orange, Green & Red Lines".
SSKILLZ1,
The Mets competition in the playoffs are all teams playing slightly above .500. Even without Pedro Mets have enough talent to make it to the World Series.
In the World Series Mets would be facing far better pitching from either the Tigers, Twins or A's. Although they don't have the strongest starting rotation the Yankees would exploit the weaknesses in the Mets rotation.
Pedro is more than questionable.

ATLANTA - Pedro Martinez turned the Mets from doormats to division winners in two years. But now, on the brink of the team's first postseason since the 2000 Subway Series, Martinez appears resigned to watching Game 1 of the division series from the bench. Or, perhaps, not on the roster at all.
"The way I'm looking right now, I don't think Willie will have a tough decision deciding who's going to pitch No. 1," Martinez said. " ...Everybody can see that. It would be a bad decision for Willie to put me out there looking the way I am."
Mets are now behind 7 -1. Bad news is that Pedro only lasted 2 2/3 innings giving up 8 hits, 7 earned runs and 2 walks.
Cano is competing for the Batting Title and is batting ninth?
Billy, 1969 was 37 years ago. Some people never forget. lol
Between Sept. 25, 2000 and Oct. 1, 2000 the Yankees lost seven in a row. However, they turned it around in the post-season and defeated the A's in five games, the Mariners in six and the Mets in five.
The question is whether the Mets can do the same in the post-season.
Billy, Be Positive...
HBO did a special on the Curse of the Bambino in 2003 and then had to update after 2004.

At the beginning of the season there were some that said that Toronto would finish second.
It just looks like that were wrong about the first and the third place teams.
SoxFan, What year did you graduate from Harvard?
SoxFan, Isn't that the initiation rite for all Red Sox fans?
Or does the ceremony involve the pricking of the finger, then dripping blood onto Big Papi's baseball card, which is then set alight in your hand and kept burning until you have sworn the following oath of loyalty to the Red Sox. As this card burns, may my soul burn in Hell if I betray the oath by rooting for the Yankees.
Now at least now 26 and SoxFan have something in common.
SSKILLZ1, I guess 26 shouldn't take his comments too personal since he is an equal opportunity offender.
Who would like to volunteer to run a diversity awareness program on iHub?
SSKILLZ1, Wang and Mussina should be one or two, with Johnson as the the Yankee's third starter.
Ace, Home field advantage should be mission number one for the Yankees.
Would there have been a different outcome if Game 5 of the 2005 ALDS was played at Yankee Stadium and not Anaheim?
26, Soriano is another product of the much maligned Yankee's Farm System.
Derf, Can't we agree to disagree on the teams we follow without getting personal.
And I don't believe that victor would say that about another poster.
derf, It doesn't look like too many Yankee season ticket holders will be selling their post-season tickets.

Is there a correlation between Giambi's past streroid use and his current ailments.
anabolic steroids predispose patients to tendon injury.
I also believe that Bonds and McGwire have suffered tendon injuries.
