Have not focused enough on our league. I have a decent roster, but need upgrades. Coleman getting hurt smacked me! But I had him in all leagues. Thrilled that I was able to get Carson and Cohen though! Your roster looks stronger as of now, but with a couple of good WR moves, I am right there.
I am hoping I do not end up kicking myself in my one league. Was going to grab Juju Schuster as a speculative stash. Gut tells me this may be the week Big Ben starts going to him more, as he is a big target and talented WR. That said, gut also was wrenching over Hyde and his injury history. Having already lost DJ, did not want to think what would happen with Hyde going down and Brieda looks like a potential stud if he does go down, so grabbed him instead for protection. Still have Martin on Suspension, Corey Davis out this week and of course DJ injured, so not much room there for more stashes. Was hoping for Cinci to come out and say Mixon was getting a chance to run away with the job, which would allow me to drop Jaquizz, but not knowing that, I may have to hold onto him a couple more weeks.
Henry was supposed to be my insurance and I though a decent bye week fill in by the time those byes started. Now I am going to be depending on him, as I prefer playing RB's over WR's, since they get the rock for sure every game(Of course, that is outside the top 5-7 WR's that will get the ball all the time Brown, Jones...).
If Bradford truly is back? I do like my stash of Mike Williams in the one league. Couple weeks away and already have Allen, Williams and Benjamin at WR< but he was #7 pick and quite the huge man, so could pay dividends!
A couple injuries, especially after some rookies have been able to surprise from nowhere can lead to huge fantasy studs that can take you to a championship(Jordan Howard last year, although I was close enough to situation here in Chicago and watching him from day one of OTA's that I grabbed him ahead of time). Now, if there is what appears to be a sure fire stud on the wires, yes, spending the money out of the budget is fine, but so far this season, they have been more of the flavor of the week varieties. Shoot, the best out there was Carson, but he was a huge risk for the money involved(over $25 in both leagues) with Rawls in the wings. Would have loved to get him the week before cheap though! Higgins for 15% of someone's full season budget? Ugh!
I shall wait to pounce. Even if no clear stud pops up, come time for the final push for the playoffs, having more money than anyone also gives one a huge leg up!
At the end of the day, Washington RB situation may be as bad as it gets in the NFL, or right up there with Philly at least. That said, at least with Philly, Sproles for as long as he stays healthy will be a viable option in PPR Leagues. Cinci could be called a bad situation, but highly likely if not this week, by next week, the new OC gives Mixon his opportunity to fully run away with the job.
He was long gone in my real leagues. I did get him in the one, my Auction League where I somehow got him for $4 late in the draft???? With DJ out for most of the season, I am hoping and wishing upon a season long hammy issue for DeMarco and Henry taking off! I could possibly be back to my intended three headed monster than with Bell, Zeke and Henry!
Fine line between smart moves and season killing moves when you are in FA Auction Bidding Leagues, which 2 of my three money leagues are. I lost D. Johnson in two leagues, but decided against going nuts on K. Williams last week. He went for $24 in one and $26 in the other so about 25% of the season budget. I lost Coleman this week and his replacement Higgins went for $13 and $15????????? LOL!
Sometimes, scooping low hangers before they become flavors of the week can be the wisest moves for overall success. In my one league, I have made thee moves all at $1, so $3 lost form $100(Moves still cost $5 for each move in real money) and the other league I have made 4 moves for $0 Bids($5 as well this year). Have the most money left over in both leagues, so should a true must have stud emerge, I got the war chest.
Really funny though to watch the other teams spend their money based on the flavor of the week on the sports websites!
Projections are seldom correct.
Yes he did! My Auction league was UGLY this week! Between Elliot and Bell, had a total of 10 points???? Not going to win many games when my two remaining studs(DJ will be back hopefully) have such crappy numbers. On the bright side, I had Henry on the bench and he had a huge game. Murray has not looked good this year, so Henry should start getting a more even split going forward.
Had to get back on track!
I think the suspension is weighing on him? Won two out of three money leagues and demolished in our league, so I am happy
20, 4, 42 with 20 for Playoffs please.
Have not even checked in our league for RB's, but my other three leagues had both drafted.
AZ backfield is going to be a mess to predict.
LOL! Not even a question there! I will be short benched until then. It becomes difficult with 4 QB's on my roster, but really reluctant to drop Trubisky, as what I saw in the preseason tells me he could emerge as a Top 10 QB in 2nd half of the season, which is huge to have on your team in a 2 QB League. Have to see how Glennon fares this week, but if he looks pedestrian again, the clock will be ticking. Heck, the only reason Glennon even had decent numbers is the little guy Cohen going nuts on his catches.
In my one league, I went all in on DJ, Elliot and Bell, so still have Elliot and Bell as long as NFL does not get its stay. In reality, a judge should not stay the lower courts injunction, as if the NFLPA and Elliot do win their case, he would have been caused irreparable harm by already sitting out the six games. I am assuming the appeals court will see it this way, as he is only in his 2nd year, so if NFL prevails in the end, they can still have their 6 game suspension next year.
A. Smith, if he keeps throwing the ball downfield was a huge get for cheap. Also have Cutler and Goff cheap and Trubisky, so my 2 QB league has some QB depth despite what I spent on my 3 RB;s.
Question now is do I drop White to go for Galladay, Davis or Lee, or do I grab Morris to be safe? I have Coleman, Kupp and Lockett, but may want to play 3 WR's while I wait to see if Henry gets more touches going forward?
Regardless, I do not want to break the bank this week. Long season and more injuries coming up. I like letting the other teams spend large chunks early. Of course if Williams projected to be the all around back that DJ was, I would spend it all to replace DJ, but he projects more as the head of a committee and I am quite sure someone will spend at least $25 on him.
LOL! I just had my DJ rant. That injury hurt! IF Henry starts getting his 50% work in TN, which he did not in week 1, I will be fine in the one league and in the other, looks like I am well stocked at RB as well.
Not sure what I am going to do in the two leagues where I have DJ??? Both leagues have Auction Format FA Moves with $100 Budget. I do not think Williams is worth much with a questionable O Line and Ellington and CJ possibly breathing down his back, but betting a RB Needy team goes at least $25 for him.
In my one league I still have Elliot and Bell with Henry on the bench. As long as Elliot plays all year, I should be fine there.
In the other league with no roster integrity which allows bigger position player benches I have Cohen, Hyde and Jaquizz with Martin stashed and also Mixon, but he needs a few more weeks. I should be fine there as well.
Thinking I may be better off looking for a long term stash in both leagues, although, with Morris available in the league where I have Elliot, instead of replacing K. White with another WR, I may try to grab Morris this week, as my WR's are good for the next few weeks. Although, there are a couple of WR's that may blossom out there. I should probably drop Trubisky for a RB, but hesitant to do so. After watching Glennon this week, he looks to be a very good backup, but lacking the special talent of a starter and if Trubs ever gets in there, he could shine. Two QB League, so have to see how things shake out. If I drop him, someone will grab him the following week.
I HATE NE RB's! They always screw you, so be careful!
UGH! That was a fast exit this year!
What is left on the convertible debentures? Thinking of doing a revenge play here to get some of my money back from years ago? Looks like Paul is doing a good job growing the company, but the debt is still hanging over them. Still, looking like the CD holders did their selling to take it down to here. Have a buy in for .0011, as think I can get a 2X to 2.5X return from there.
Yes, it can be tough to have multiple players on a team. Worse in baseball, as if the team runs into bad weather, or you run into a 5 game week, it can flip your entire week!
Mom was from South Bend. I spent a lot of time with grand parents and cousins there growing up and was a ND Fan growing up. Then, when I got out of college, started running into ND Grads that even if they were working at Mc D's they would look down their noses at everyone else and it was there I became a ND Hater!
Nice! Smith looks like he knows how to find him, so Hill should get plenty of play this year. Of course, only one game.
Looks like GA just put the hammer down!
Hunt looks like he may be a monster this year. Freeman is a wait and see how Sarkasian works that O. Some thought to Coleman taking lead in that RBBC?
I wanted to grab Hunt in a couple of leagues, but hesitated. Was worried that a slow start would give the lead to C. West, since he has had pretty decent stats for KC in the past. After Monday, I do not think Hunt looks back. Hopefully, he keeps doing those deep circle routes and Smith keeps hitting him!!!!!!
I am also in Fantasy Heaven! Not only did I get Zeke for the season in 2 of my 3 Money Leagues, all of FFB really gets going tmrw and a huge past two days by my baseball team has me in the lead going into tomorrow to advance to 2nd Round there!
Hoping GA holds on!
Truex got knocked backwards into the 20's!
WOW! That is a whooping!
Yes he did.
I loved it though! Now, if it can drive back out and take out the 18 and 78 I will be downright giddy!
Well, the ambulance driver must have received my wire in time since he did take out Kenseth for me!!!!!!
Goodell screwed the pooch and deserved to be slapped back by the judge! When I went all in on my bidding for Zeke, I assumed the NFL would relent and take him down to 2-3 games, since there was no real evidence to support the physical abuse. Instead, they were determined to keep the six games at all costs, which included breaking the negotiated arbitration meeting rules.
If those 2-3 extra games help give me my 2nd straight title in that league, I just may have to send Goodell a Christmas Present!
Had to go against grain with my picks if I had any hope of getting back in the top 3. We shall see how it turns out. Perfect night for me for the 78 to blow an engine early!
4,41,24 Please
ZEKE! Making my gamble to go add him to my all in RB Auction even better! When I first did it, I expected the Arbitrator to take him down to 3-4 games, which would give me the same run as I had with Bell last year. When I saw how Goodell basically said screw off to his highly paid investigator when she recommended no suspension, it looked very much like a nasty vendetta from the Commissioner of a sports league. Court saw it the same way!
Also grabbed Zeke in the snake draft league that I won last year whereby I was stuck with 10th pick in the snake. SO basically, I got a top 3 pick with the bonus of having the 11th pick too!
Looks like he is going to be a stud! I am sure hoping that we witnessed a new Alex Smith tonight that continues!
Was playing Brady in 2 of 3 money leagues, so I am giddy right now! Yes, I am hurting in our league, but happy where the money is and really happy in the league where I have Alex Smith!
Sadly, in one of my money leagues, facing Gillise.
LOL! At our Auction draft, I went all in on Bell, DJ and Elliot spending $161 out of $200 on those three. This meant I had a lot maneuvering to fill the rest of my roster, which included getting A. Smith for $4)Cutler $5, Goff$1, Trubisky $2) Two QB League.
I am going up against the team that went all in on QB's spending $168 between Brady and Rodgers!
So far tonight, it is Smith 24, Brady 5!
