There are enough just in NYC to do this. I believe V was heavily promoted and sold there given they out of NJ. Does not have to be one insurance carrier. Just needs communication and sharing of data. And someone smart enough to care to look. It’s all there. The data anyway. They have scripts and hospitalizations and codes for hospitalization. We need AI to chug through this with massive data sharing. Honestly....v in such a study may show huge benefits. But it would need to be age controlled for as the old people in the NH are not getting V. Then the AI will launch the nukes.

First. Malaria is a parasite. Not a virus. But no....no more chance than a mosquito bite given ya a cold. As far as we know the virus does not live in mosquitoes. It would be like a human being living on Saturn. Nothing to grab onto and reproduce on.
I know what humans really do....drugs, alcohol, things in orifices that don’t easily come out
People that are human decanters for expensive wine at certain clubs around the country..(Google it. But not on a work phone). .. our depravity is almost endless. And I help those in the midst of said depravity every day. And it never goes away. (the worst by far is alcohol.....given incidence, availability combined with a car, bad relationship, or worse yet kids)
Marijuana legal hear in Nevada. Have not seen the pot head apocalypse. Seen a few young people with the cannabinoid hyperemisis again and again and they are lost souls with no insight by and large. the rest seem to be doing fine. Never did acid. Too afraid.
Might make me realize something I don’t want to.
Drug abuse is bad...OK...some drugs like heroin are just pure evil.
But not all drugs are bad...OK. (South Park rederence. Mr Mackey voice)
Drink up!

JT is not to be admired unless he delivers a home run. Until that....my only compliment to him is raising the cash he did in July. Granted I bought a lot right before that offering. But it was a smart move by him in hindsight or the stock would be at $2. My fear is it was a lucky move. Pure and simple. Thus the problem with hindsight....thank you judge DuDU!!!!
Adcom was not him. He walked into all this and he is stumbling badly.
He better start delivering shareholder value or he will be replaced. Or should be replaced. Leave it at that.

Mr Dylan to the ears of a 45 year old is at times epic...and other times ....nasally, whiney drivel. I love that we all l0ve different stuff and I appreciate Dylan at his best. My parents did not listen to him much. Probably my disconnect. I think my dad did not like him cause he no play Woodstock despite having a house nearby...but then again my dad ended up in Ohio or some crap like that on his way to Woodstock. No GPS you see. And probably some drugs. Hopefully prescription.

You mean attractive to all pirates.

Let me point out one flaw in any country intentionally releasing a pandemic type virus. The virus does not discriminate unless your a dog. Your just as likely to die from it as anyone else. So are your kids.
Viruses don’t discriminate....people do.

When the reports of strokes and clotting from damaged endothelium came out in young people infected....if I was management of AMRN...I would have been calling everyone I could. Mentioning “hey, we may have something that can help. Not promoting a cure...but visibly announcing...hey. Take a look at this terrible situation and what we may have to bring to the table”
I doubt V works acutely. But there may be protection in people that have been taking it for years. Worth at least announcing you are investigating.
My respect for JT and his advisors is less than zero. While I would temporarily enjoy the pop in SP from an announcement....I would more respect this just being the right thing to do.
Yet we have nothing but a few sentences during the conference call.
They are sooooooo bad. Best drug in 50 years and they don’t know what to do with it. Really want out of the company but believe in the power of V too much.

Predictions
1. We see $8 first week of May or sooner
2. We see $10 May 12 with brief filing. Then up to $12 or down to $8 again the next day Depends on the briefing and how the market interprets it.
3. There will be no effective covid vaccine...do we have a vaccine for the common cold? (The financial dissencentive in developing one a separate topic)....No...see Dr. Sears blog. Viruses in this family mutate too fast...example is the yearly antigenic shift in the flu virus family that requires a guess work patchwork yearly vaccine. the corona family does mutate quick enough to make a long term vaccine such as we have for measles unlikely, though it probably does not mutate as fast as the flu viruses. Perhaps some hope. But I’m not counting on it.
4. two months after we open back up your gonna see it worse than it ever was. While I firmly believe an order of magnitude more than reported has had the virus in the US...there still over 300 million souls for which the virus is just waiting be introduced to.
5. We can’t shut down through the summer. The cure becomes worse than the disease for 99% of us to the point that ya have more people directly dying from the shutdown than the disease. That’s the see saw we are on.
6. The end will be herd immunity. With then annual clusters as with the flu. Prior infection will help mitigate hopefully rather than causing a cytokines storm the second time. Yes some may get it twice. antibodies in your blood are not 100% effective especially if ya suck down a huge viral load. . We have always known this...viruses mutate. But effective viruses tend to become less lethal. It’s the old not killing the golden goose law. Darwinism for something that is both alive and not alive at the same time. A virus.
7 humanity is facing a soulless demon for sure...but not a stupid one. Mortality when all is said and down will likely be comparable to a bad flu like H1N1 but the absolute number of deaths will be much higher as this crap is crazy infectious. And basically every human is doomed to get infected with it.
Shutdowns keep us from overwhelming the hospitals so we can focus resources to save the ones that can be saved. That’s all. They likely do not eradicate the virus wich will start spreading again from the global population.
8. I’m actually a little afraid we may see shortages for real over the summer. Especially two mo the after we open back up. With that comes great social upheaval risk.
9. When we come out of this....if our economy still Operates on the same principles as before....an accounting for the mass printing of paper money is a coming.
10 social security is screwed. No payroll taxes. Already was on thin ice. The deaths don’t balance it either. Sorry I had to put that in. Sounds harsh. But true.
11. Many nursing homes and hospitals gonna go under.
12 healthcare workers are all gonna unionize. My buddy an ER doc just took a 40% pay cut overnight cause volume is down so much. Despite the danger he shows up to face daily. Nurses hours being cut nationwide except in the hotspot. Granted we being paid while so many others suffer...but this kind of thing is remembered.
13. Sadly. The end of all this is looking rather grim. Staged opening does not change the outcome...just helps delay the second...worse peak unless we all quietly getting covid during this quarantine from our trips to the store.
Wish I had better predictions to share
Lemmidamus-
Seems the fellowship is breaking. We all know how the story ends.
Go AMRN.
“There are some decent arguments that the prior art was flawed, but still, it is hard to overcome a simple explicit statement like that with sophisticated scientific arguments “
Sorry bro. But not significant is just that. Read the article. Ya making the same mistake DuDU did.
Regarding Anderson Coopers Las Vegas mayor interview......
Omg. Watched the whole 20 minute or so interview. Was not any better than the edited snippets ya get from various news sources. Little embarrassed for her and for my town.
Lemmiwinks for mayor!!!!’
Actually...no thanks!!!!
Ultimately this will be a see-saw about when to open up. When the cure is worse than the disease for the 98% of survivors...ya gonna see some ugly things the longer we don’t open back up. Then we will see wave two... there is the potential for really dark times ahead.
I need some chicken soup laced with V for the soul.
Lem-
We probably opening back up in stages may 1. Glad she volunteered me. Maybe We all get a free buffet out of it. Everyone I know has probably already had it. Vegas probably not a good example as it was likely here back in December. Ran rampant for months. Also gonna be in the 90’s next week. Should help us out.
Thanks for your concern.
Lem.
Covid seems to be causing strokes in people under 50 with even mild symptoms of covid. Clotting in large arteries. V needs to be examined for any benefit IMMEDIATELY!!!!
Lem
I noticed that too. I want to be GILD!!!!!
They all clerked for the third circuit court of appeals. Nikita as recently as 4 years ago. Is that our circuit?
Lem
The problem of promoting something whilst hobgoblins abound...is ya can end up making your bed with them. I gave the caveat that kiwi ignored that this is not peer reviewed. I think V could be of benefit. But I ask for a study before promoting.
I was kidding about storing the oil in an open pit. Fireworks are everywhere here despite being illegal. One Roman candle!!!! Kaboom!!!!!!
But thank you.
Don’t understand that either. The en blanc invalidation. Each one should stand on its own I would have thought. But it’s been a while since I read the specific six that were invalidated. From memory they were pretty similar.
And here I was gonna go and fill my pool with crude!!! Ahh well. In vegas we have a co called wells cargo (gravel and excavating). They are on spring mountain road. Google earth it....they have the biggest damn hole on earth dug there with neighborhoods all around. We could fill it with oil!!!! Actually there are two of em. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Use to be able to look down in from road but now they put up fences and burms of dirt. Worth a look.
Cold water thrown on hydroxychloroquine.
From the VA and university of Virginia....
In the study of 368 patients, 97 patients who took hydroxychloroquine had a 27.8% death rate. The 158 patients who did not take the drug had an 11.4% death rate. Granted not yet peer reviewed. Pts who took could be sicker. Just mention this to give pause and caution on jumping on bandwagons. However I see no downside to V for covid patients. Kind of makes sence it might help. Hopefully we find out soon.
Would be completely fitting for V to be the drug to help covid pts to recover.
Honestly I’d not be surprised if we see a PR soon. We could all use a boost right now.
If we do...start writing the movie script. This is all too true to believe.
Lem
100000000% agree. She has sealed her own fate. We will win the appeal. Who would of thunk? So maybe...just maybe...pushing ahead full steam is the best option unless they sell. The patent clock is ticking for REDUCIT. But without an early hearing and ruling we still gambling here. V is just so damn good though. Beer good. AMRN floundering.

in Plantronics, Inc. v. Aliph, Inc., [724 F. 3d 1343 (Fed. Cir. July 31, 2013)] the Federal Circuit reversed a district court’s summary judgment of obviousness, finding that “when all of the factual disputes regarding the objective evidence are resolved in favor of Plantronics, we cannot hold that the claims would have been obvious as a matter of law.” [Id. at 1353–1357.] In Leo Pharmaceutical Products, Ltd. v. Rea, the Federal Circuit reversed the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s obviousness finding in an inter partes reexamination. [Leo Pharm. Prods., Ltd. v. Rea, 726 F.3d 1346 (Fed. Cir. Aug. 12, 2013).] When viewed “through the lens of the objective indicia, as opposed to the hindsight lens used by the Board,” the patent would not have been obvious. [Id. at 1359.]
Sound familiar?
In Cyclobenzaprine, the Federal Circuit reversed an obviousness decision, finding long-felt need and the failure of others to be “particularly telling . . . when considered as part of the totality of the evidence.” [Id. at 1083.] In the Federal Circuit’s opinion, the district court appeared to have “fallen into the understandable but improper trap of constructing a selective version of the facts relating to the objective considerations so as to confirm its hunch that the asserted claims were obvious,” instead of considering the prior art and the invention in the context of the secondary considerations.
Lem
She admits to commercial success despite her profit comment. So a win. She also admits to unmet need....a consideration in granting the patents. Win.
But she said it bitchily.
Lem
From Markman ....
I do not share your views on your “construction” of Judge Du’s construction of the “compared to” language. But it is really irrelevant. If Amarin were to pursue this theory on appeal, it would have to take into account that claim 8 from the ‘677 patent is only one of the ten asserted claims. Seven of the other asserted claims do not recite reduction of Apo B as a limitation whatsoever, and the other two claims that do require reduction of Apo B do not require a comparison to placebo. At trial, Amarin argued that reduction of Apo B was an unexpected benefit for the purpose of showing all ten asserted claims were not obvious.
But that one patent...that single one...if it stands...we win, humanity wins...
Each patent stands alone....no?
Well...I guess the lesson here is no smart investor puts any faith in any judicial decision....ever. I use to like to argue....but mostly cause I was usually right. I should have been a lawyer. It’s my nature. But that also can make one a prick. I’ve learned through failure and difficulties to put that part of me in check...realizing it’s for my better....and maybe more importantly...for others “better”...but holy hell....I’m quickly learning since I reached a point where I could invest that that is all when it comes to law and investing. The Markman response is all tripe. Painful to swallow. This guy waxes and wanes from bullish to bearish like no tomorrow. I no longer care what he thinks. My advice.... if no BO by 8/1. Start selling into any strength. I hate this. I love V,,,,but not AMRN at the moment.
Lem
Was thinking more a Greek tragedy....which I absolutely hated in their totality. The only solace...what kind of screwed up lives were the ancient Greeks having that those stories gave them solace or enjoyment.
Lem.
I did not know you spoke Hungarian. Thank you.
Thought I was intelligent but this all leaves me scratching my head. So did amrn attorneys agree to a construct that ultimately cost us the case? Why agree? Why not go with what the patent said? What was the danger? The patent stated “when compared to control”. Geebus. Am I missing something here?
The problem with law is that what is right is not always found to be so. Screw anyone that says while it is imperfect it gives all the best chance of justice...not here...not this time...and it is a matter of life and death when ya consider the population as a whole.
I call for a return to Hammarabi!!!!!!!
Emporer Lemmiwinks....king of the lemmings.
Here here!!!
I go back to the Goldman Sachs secondary......have to think there is at least a little interest in getting the SP back to $18. Unless they told all their clients to buy double amount at $4 for the sale at $12. At twelve unless a CVR I’m still underwater....but not by much and actually reasonable compared to my IBM I bought at $150. .... and it would be close enough for me. What a year of investing in AMRN this has been.
Biotech should be my wheelhouse. Hmmmmmm.....
Lem
Just want to wake up tomorrow...who doesn’t .... and read that GILD buys AMRN for $7.4 billion.
Make it so Marzaan.
We need a buy out Monday before we all go insane.
Lem-
And the invalidated patent explicitly cites..”reduction in comparison to a control group”
This is criminal...and not justice!!
Lem-
OT but ohhh so relevant...anyone else realize they hate how loud their family members chew? In this case...apparently I do 90% of the loud chewing....but my families 10% is driving me nuts....also...I frigging hate potato chip bags and anything that sounds like them and that theoretically should take 2 seconds to crumple and throw away...yet seem to take an eternity to do so...if we ever do go to Mars...important to make silent potato chip and snack bags...or there will be murder.
Now gonna start Netflix over from the beginning.
Lem-
Thank you. But it brings up the point of totally b- slapping DU’s statistical analysis. It’s all there already. She just had her mind made up and cherry picked things to make for an eloquent but scientifically and statistically retarded conclusion. Not significant is not significant and the patent she invalidated specifically refers to “compared to control”. It’s black and white on that.
Just a question on appeals....so with a convicted murderer...new dna evidence can come in and lead to acquittal. But in a federal appeal on patents...not the case. I assume it’s to keep from retrying cases over and over? Then what does de novo really mean? De Novo, but just with the typed trial documents?
What if we were to find for instance that estriol plus EPA in aboriginal women actually increases APO-B by 7%.
The patent is for Humans...the study was for a small....Japanese, post menopausal, all female group taking a medication (estriol) in addition to or without EPA. Was the study powered to detect synergy? No friggin way! Nor did it teach anything about synergy....hulk want smash something. STOP THIS INSANITY NOW!!!!!’
This is all so mind boggling.
This is all hypothetical. I’m just venting and pointing out how absurd this all is.
Listen...the ONLY way the honorable judge DU’s decision makes sence if if she had already made up her mind before the start. It’s absolutely pathetic.
Lem-
The only caveat is we have antibodies to many corona viruses since childhood circulating in us. It’s a matter of how specific the test was to covid19. Regardless, I agree with the idea that it was wide spread here before we even knew it and hopefully we rapidly have gained herd immunity. Will know soon enough. Or not soon enough at this rate.
Lem
Correct. Increased holdings by 20%. But I’m far from whole here!!!!
Lem-
Ughhh read it and this all just stinks even more. What the heck have we come to as a country? We are witnessing the decline of a civilization for sure!!!! You will see more absurdity for sure in the coming months as absurdity is the only sane thing left......I’m disgusted!!!!
