SCKT - Q2 does not sound promising. I agree, there is no telling how high it could go. Momentum is a powerful thing lately. The 4.4 million share float has traded twice already this morning.
I don't remember ever having this high a percentage of cash, but when these loonies are waving wads of cash at you, it is hard not to sell to them.
SCKT - I couldn't believe the price this morning. I had a tiny position but was happy to let it go to the crazy people for $3.84. The price move on this press release is laughable.
Littlefish - MXC - you probably sold in extended hours trading then, since officially it never got into the 50s or perhaps less than 100 share lots.
MXC, I think you're a tad high on both prices, but I get your point.
Along that same train of thought, I wonder if we will get some insane price moves from some of these precious metals stocks now that gold and silver are breaking out.

MXC had a huge run up into the 40s in 2008.

MXC - How strange. Popped over $7.00 just now. I was looking at it earlier in the day, and it had barely traded, and like you said, all of a sudden it just went nuts.
I let the crazy people have my shares, too!
Good point on the stop loss orders. I have been stopped out on numerous occasions at the very high or low of the day. Coincidence? Probably not.
Interesting article, Dick. I would have to speculate that frontrunning is alive and well at Etrade. I say this for two reasons: First, I have noticed quite a few times a delay from the time I submit an instantly marketable order until it is executed (or sometimes not executed because the shares I was trying to buy disappear).
Secondly, upon submitting an all-or-none order (when the size shown wasn't sufficient to get my order filled), I have seen the market instantly move in the same direction of my order, without my order being executed.
I guess this is the price we pay for free commissions.
CODA $6.68 + $1.15, doing a pretty good job of staying elevated. With a small float of 2.36M you never know......
CODA - It is just a volatility pause.(eom)
CODA presently halted. Mrinvestorpro on stocktwits put out a buy alert. He supposedly has 42k followers.
DGLY, nice job, Researcher! (eom)
DGLY - I flipped my shares yesterday, but I'm keeping an eye on it. This company has been a perennial money loser, so not an inspiring past. Stock is down today, so you're not the only skeptical one apparently.
DGLY contract. I posted a link to an interesting message on stocktwits below. If this guy is right, very good news for DGLY.
https://stocktwits.com/loco1080/message/228550980
DGLY - The company should put out a press release for some clarity. They have to have noticed the 53 million shares traded today and the price spike. I'm sure they have had shareholder inquiries, also.
EDUC - I wish I would have bought a bunch around $10, also. It was tough, though, after that huge run they had. I did buy some at the open this morning after listening to the conference call last night. The CEO was very excited about things.
DGLY - This would be a huge contract for them if legit:
https://beta.sam.gov/awards/91136200%2BIDV
EDUC - $14.36 + $1.90, blasted through to a new 52-week high. The CEO mentioned in the conference call yesterday that June usually isn't one of their better months, and this time around it was the largest net revenue month in the company’s history.
TCCO - Volume just exploded out of nowhere and now it is halted at $3.78!
TCCO - All over the place this morning. Got over $4 in the pre-market and now back to $3.39.
EDUC - And a little more from the SA conference call transcript:
Operator
"And there are no further questions at this time."
Randall White
"Are you kidding me? Did anybody want to say, hey, Randall, you're awesome? Come on. Can I get something here? We had the best quarter in our life and you got nothing? Bring it, come on. How about a hooray, brother? Okay. All the information you want to know, I guess, we can go home. Really?"
You can't make this stuff up......
EDUC - The CEO seems to be a bit of a character. This quote from him comes from the SA conference call transcript:
"And when I see people evaluate our company and come out with knowledgeable advice and say we're overloaded in debt, I say, you need to pull your head out."
Now, that's some funny stuff!
EDUC - It really took off. Painful to watch since I was holding not one share. Could have bought a boatload at $10 after earnings.
CVV Halted again $3.85 + .55 going the other way.
CVV Halted $4.30 + $1.00 on Covid news:
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200714005196/en/CVD-Dymax-Keyence-Collaborate-Accelerate-ECMO-Development
PRCP - Yahoo shows 7.87M. Pick your float!
TSLA - I think I was short this in the 300s last year. It pays not to be stubborn. I wonder how many short sellers TSLA has eviscerated?
EDUC - I can definitely see a lot of potential here, also. I think there will be a lot of parents opting for home schooling especially in households where there are elderly or at-risk individuals.
Interesting article about that very topic:
https://fee.org/articles/back-to-school-no-thanks-say-millions-of-new-homeschooling-parents/
EDUC - $10.01 + $1.01, It will be interesting to see where this one ends up today. They just reported a nice quarter with good guidance, but it had a big run into earnings. I could see it going either way.
ORN - Hweb, I joined you. I like the rising backlog.
I can't blame you. Seems to be a lot of volume and volatility lately, so why not take advantage of it.
MYOS - Thought that PR issued yesterday after hours might send it skyward. I bought at an average price of $1.32 yesterday after hours. Not too impressed with the action last night. Seemed to be a lot of steady selling pressure with it closing around $1.13.
I was pleasantly surprised to see it trading over $2 this morning. I unloaded in the low 2s. Supposedly traded all the way up to $3.73 earlier.
This is a good example of how the after hour's action can be so different from the pre-market the next day. And not to mention how both can be totally different from how things go in the regular trading session.
Interesting board you have here!
Hweb, I agree that it's hard to short anything in this market. POLA is the poster child for that view today, currently trading at $4.07 up $2.70.
Hweb - High borrow rates. Maybe we are paying for those free commissions....
FRD just declared its 194th consecutive quarterly cash dividend. I am averaged in at $5.13, and will wait patiently for better times. When things are going right for these guys, they can put up some big numbers.
LGHLW - Nice one steeledge. Warrants now trading at 44 cents. Wish I would have seen this earlier.
COHN $13.20 + $9.09, if anyone needed a refresher as to why shorting low floaters can be dangerous as hell, there you are. Edit: now $16.50
It's my contention that the Robinhood traders are bursting with confidence these days. My second contention is that this thing is going to come to a very ugly end for them.
