FYI,
I go way back with a few of the other shareholders here. About 15 yrs ago, I worked with Souvenir Direct when Howard Ullman ran the company out of a small office. At the time, it was a successful and growing souvenir company. Just doing over a mill. They did a huge business importing a lot of private custom souvenirs for Disney, Universal, NFL, NBA, and many other larger companies that I won't go into here but it was exciting. We were both in the souvenir business and I still am. There were custom pieces done for theme parks and attractions all over the country, the Caribbean, S.A., and even into Europe and the South Pacific. There were so many active customers and distributors in different countries and I was familiar with a lot of their business and still have samples of what we were doing sitting on a shelf in my office. I was at the time going to offer the company part of my business but later decided not to.
Souvenir Direct was an import only company and eventually picked up a Walmart contract. Big time but SE US regionally only. The company was growing as a souvenir company and had its own patent. They did the industry trade shows and were successful. Then came on the diversified growth and Howard went public. After going public, it was time to bring on new people and contacts. I was in and out of the office and aware of the advancements as they happened.
New personnel and divisions around the country and into China were added. That's how the company evolved into China Direct Trading, hence CHDT. Problem was that there was another company named China Direct. The company had a lot of contacts in China and we had a few really bad hurricanes happening in Florida during a select few years. Generators were in short supply and people went crazy locally. It was probably after a couple hurricanes and a few beers when they decided to bring on generators. Of course there were some sales but it flopped. One by one we brought on new personnel and here we are now. The company has grown quite a bit as we all know in a totally different direction.
JMO- A license for watches for the world cup is total BS. Now if they had a license for caps, t-shirts, glass wear, keychains, or mugs, etc different story. How many people are going to look into that display case and say, "Wow, I've just got to buy that watch." You, my friends can answer that. Nobody is going to look us up with research because they see a name called "Capstone on the back of a watch.".
Our lighting division is where our niche is now and hopefully they'll build the company sales in that direction.
In the meantime, I still have all my shares and holding. Wishing the best for all of us.
