Oooh I see they're dropping the IPO plan as well. Interesting.
No it's today.
Agree with the sentiment. I still believe the potential is there for BB 2 be great. They're getting all the accolades from different publications and they're still working with Amazon. Plus IVY should be creating revenue in the near future if all goes to plan. I'm glad we've stuck it out this far.
Welcome back 4's.
Can it break and stay at $4 and then keep going...that's the question? LOL
Wow. What a great close to end the week! Looking forward to next week.
LOL thanks for the laugh!!!!
LOL it's good to not be alone here. Good luck as well. Happy Thanksgiving in advance!
I do hope that after the next quarter, things really start to turn around. Hopefully I'll be able to scrape something to get some more shares before it finally takes off.
I hope so too.
BB's paying off those debentures. Like the sound of that. Looks like the market agrees...so far. LOL
I was referencing a post that was made on Oct 2020 where it was speculated to give BB five years for it to appreciate in price at least 5-fold. So basically it's less than two years left from that initial speculation.
Nice price action today. Good point that since Chen's time was running out that they would have to be looking for the next person. We shall see.
Less than 2 years left to go.
I am disappointed as well with this. I thought when the announcement was made about the IPO that it meant that Chen would carry this through. Now they're going to get a new CEO. I hope whoever it is can keep this ship from sinking.
Oh my. Guess that's why I need the day job...LOL https://ih.advfn.com/stock-market/NYSE/blackberry-BB/stock-news/92403671/blackberry-announces-john-chen-to-retire-as-execut
Saw this on the Reddit board: https://www.reddit.com/r/BB_Stock/comments/171g77j/do_you_need_more_clarity_from_bb/
Looks like they plan to have a separate virtual investor briefing at the Summit on October 17th to add a little more detail to the news.
Based on this I'm guessing he'll become CEO of the IOT business. It seems to be the "hotter" of the two.
I guess we'll have to wait and see at this point. Sounds like based on this news, I'm thinking Chen will continue to stay as CEO...but will he become CEO of IOT or Cybersecurity...and will there be a new CEO covering one of the two...or will he be over both? Will see what happens.
I'm wondering what happens now. Still trying to make sense of it. Assuming path may be similar to when Johnson & Johnson split according to this article: https://www.wsj.com/podcasts/google-news-update/what-happens-to-my-stock-when-a-company-splits/ad3139ec-1308-45ef-984f-65e997fb0a24
Around 4 minute mark of this video, it mentions how J&J stock initially rose slightly on news of split but then went down by the following week due to uncertainty. https://www.cnbc.com/video/2022/01/10/why-johnson-johnson-is-splitting-itself-into-two-companies.html#:~:text=Why%20Johnson%20%26%20Johnson%20is%20splitting%20itself%20into%20two%20publicly%20traded,traded%20company%20by%20November%202023.
Will Chen go with IOT or Cybersecurity? Will there by a new CEO over IOT or Cybersecurity? Will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
Will we see 6 again?
Creeping back up.
Yeah Nelson2 I wish it could've closed closer to the high. That would've shown strength. It may go sideways again tomorrow. It doesn't seem to want to reach $6. Uggh.
Nice volume today!
Fingers...toes...crossed.
Watsa's still in I assume. It looks like he got more votes for than even Chen.

Yeah the letter was disappointing. I'm wondering based on what the major stockholder was saying if $15 is the floor on what they will offer shareholders if they go private. I did see that Fairfax attempted a takeover back in 2013 as well.

Good luck to you as well. Look like it's a bargain sale today.
I added a small amount once more a month ago. Will try to add more periodically.
I'm not sure but I felt like it had to do with their after-hours PR on 05/01. It seemed to imply that this fiscal year will deliver positive revenues and they stated the stock price is not where it should be.
If things keep going the way it's been going, maybe $6 before Friday. Would be nice.
Another 7% increase today. Nice.
Yes it is.
"BlackBerry is executing on a strong, well-resourced plan to deliver revenue and ARR growth, as well as significant improvements in non-GAAP EPS and cashflow this fiscal year. Although we expect achievement of this plan to deliver significant shareholder benefits, we do not believe that this is fully reflected in the market's current valuation of the Company," said John Chen, Executive Chairman & CEO. "Accordingly, the Board and management believe it is an appropriate time to initiate a comprehensive review of the Company's portfolio. The review aims to identify and evaluate opportunities to further enhance shareholder value."
I'm liking the wording of today's after-hours P.R. And clearly investors liked it too.
Heh if they can ride it up to $20 and $30 again...I'll definitely sell some shares this time to buy back in later.
Maybe the Reddit kids again...*LOL*. No clue but I hope it keeps moving on up.
Very nice news!
