You might want to spend some time checking the markets, we are in the middle of a major downturn. Tilray shadows the NASDAQ and the NASDAQ is in the worst losing streak since 2016.
Tilray has some issues including some dilution but these are far from doomsday scenarios. The downside is limited but the upside is unlimited. That's why investors are ignoring the bears and buying big time. Tilray ownership is up 219%. That's not by accident.
That's a good article. Illegality is the biggest barrier for cannabis companies. They have to pay much higher taxes, higher costs of getting a loan (if they can get one), etc., etc..
However, the cannabis industry is still in its infancy. Reform and legalization are coming and that will change everything.
Wrong again. Tilray did lose money but they made $60M more than they lost last quarter.
None of your points explain how Tilray is selling bunk weed yet millions of their customers around the world use their products every day, and their earnings remain solid every quarter.
Wrong again. This suit involves some Aphria insiders (who know who they are) four years ago, not Tilray today.
Seriously? You are going to keep insisting that Tilray is selling bunk weed yet Tilray has millions of customers around the world who use it every day? How do you explain that?
Wrong again. Most of Tilray's weed comes from Portugal.
Any more false doomsday theories? We've had some doozies lately. My favorite is still the bunk weed theory. Tilray gained major market share in Germany, the most perfectionist country in the world, by selling them bunk weed. That one always makes me laugh uncontrollably.
Wow, just wow! Amazing how incorrect this is. Most of Tilray's production hub is outdoors in Portugal which requires very little energy to run.
Methylsulfonylmethane? I trust the charts. Actually, I don't give a damn about the stock price right now. It is at or near the lows. The downside is limited but the upside is unlimited considering what is coming at the end of this year (US reform and legalization in Germany and Mexico). You can ignore it, but I'm sure as hell not going to miss out on it.
Correct. Also, Tilray is on the NASDAQ, not the OTC. Tilray has the most volume of any cannabis company which is the most important thing for a cannabis stock. Traders can't trade MSOs because they are on the OTC and there is no volume to trade with.
Uhh...you might want to check the market graphs.
Germans will need more weed to keep them warm and numb the pain.
You might want to check the markets, we are in the middle of a major downturn.
Deutschland liebt Tilray.
You can dismiss it as hype but smart investors know what 20% of the world's biggest cannabis market will yield.
Tilray already owns 20% of the German market so the Germans obviously like it.
Ja, Deutschland hat schone madchen.
It is impressive that the price has held up in the high 3s in the middle of this downturn. It's also impressive that Tilray owns 20% of what will soon be the world's biggest cannabis market (bigger than California). That's a fact, not hype. Spreken ze Deutsch?
Sorry Bonno, your doomsday scenarios don't add up. Tilray owns 20% of the German market. They are one of the top players. Who cares about overproduction, it happens in every industry. The produce industry wastes tons of product every day but it's an easily renewable product like cannabis. It can be regrown in little time.
No one wants to buy illegal cannabis laced with fentanyl. Legalization in Germany will be huge for Tilray, it's undeniable. Say it with me Bonno, "Achtung Baby"!
Tilray has its problems, no question. Its stock price should be in the high 2s or low 3s. However, smart investors look ahead not behind. I'm not talking about US reform, I'm talking about European legalization starting with Germany at the end of this year. Some might be pessimistic about it happening but unlike he US, Germany does what it says it will do.
Forget Canada, Germany alone has twice the population and twice the users as Canada. 29% of Germans use cannabis. That's a huge market and Tilray owns 20% of it!
I'm not denying dilution occurs. I'm just saying that it is a common tool used by many companies and it doesn't constitute fraud or corruption.
Dilution is common with companies. It isn't fraud or corruption.
That's a little extreme. Are you saying the numbers they are reporting are fraudulent?
Cannabis creates mass eaters, not mass shooters.
Wow, major downturn! I'm glad I stayed patient and didn't buy in the 4s. It looks like a down week for the markets in anticipation of Fed statements at Jackson Hole. I might buy in at low 3s.
The entire cannabis sector is up because Senator Booker said he is willing to compromise and pass SAFE banking. I hate to be pessimistic but what politicians say and do are often two different things. We have seen that for the last 20 months. I'll believe it when I see it.
Amazing how big pharma spins things. Almost every mass shooter has been on big pharma drugs and now they are trying to deflect the blame and pin it on marijuana. How pathetic and low can big pharma go?
They should advertise on the Food Network.
I noticed that as well. The NDAA might be the last chance of legislation (SAFE Banking Act) passing this year.
Yes, thanks for the link, I saw that yesterday. It's great that Schumer finally introduced his bill but he did it knowing it had no chance of passing, wasting a lot of time and resources. Although it will give more exposure to the legalization effort, it will also continue to delay legislation that does have a chance of passing.
Yes, eventually something will pass but when? We should already have reform legislation but Schumer insisted on introducing his bill that has no chance of passing wasting a lot of time and resources. I should take back what I said, we COULD see 2s in the next couple of months!!
Good point.
They consume a lot more than chocolates and cheeses!
You forgot to include Tilray selling bunk weed, or is that only Bonno's argument?
According to the article, Switzerland consumes 56 tons of cannabis annually.
Good question. My ex-wife's mood swings are easier to predict than what will happen in Washington and in the markets!
We need more info on Hexo.
Unfortunately, I agree with you. However, he does have a lot of pressure on him from top Dems, his constituents and public opinion, not to mention cannabis dispensary staff that are being robbed and murdered on a daily basis. He must do something or it will hurt him politically.
