Good question - and I'm surprised no one has posted them.
Here is the RFQ:
ITEM DESCRIPTION QTY U/I
1 Ammonium Nitrate Test Kits (#EX377) 89,000 EA
2 Chlorate Test Kits (#EX376) 10,000 EA
3 Urea Nitrate Test Kits (#EX373) 1,000 EA
4 Shipping of items to Bagram 1 EA
Here are the spec's:
Specifications:
These specific kits needed as a field presumptive test of a specific type of compound (Ammonium Nitrate, Chlorates, Urea Nitrate):
-They are not for trace amounts
-They are for very small bulk amount testing
-These kits are to test amounts that you are able to see with the naked eye (small bulk amounts).
Kits need to be a portable detector containing three types of single-use, bulk colorimetric explosives detectors manufactured by IDenta. The detector test units use reagents and chemical reactions as the basis for their detection technology. The reagents are fully contained within each of the detector test units with no exposure to the operator.
Each detector test unit operates in the same basic manner, with subtle differences for each of the three detector types. Samples are collected by removing the sampler from the test unit, contacting the sample with the adhesive sampler tip, replacing the sampler in the applicator cradle, sequentially crushing the reagent vials contained within the test unit, gently shaking the entire test unit, and watching for a color change.
The kits need to be portable, disposable, have a 2 year shelf life, simple (with reagents built into the tester) and gives a positive colorimetric result that requires minimal training. The reagents remain sealed until used, and the test unit is durable and can withstand the temperatures and abuse that are expected in the ATO. Production for all 100K units must occur in no more than 2-3 months from receipt of purchase order and must be able to arrange partial shipment as production progresses.
Summary of Specs:
Any kit selected must have the following:
1)reagents are fully contained within each of the detector test units with no exposure to the operator
2)presumptive field testing of bulk substances (Ammonium Nitrate, Chlorates, Urea Nitrate)
3)portable enough to fit into a front pocket of jeans
4)simple operation that does not require more than 1 hour of training
5)each individual kit must be completely disposable
6)cannot contain electronics of any kind
7)100K units must occur in no more than 2-3 months from receipt of purchase order
Fair enough.
Gotta crawl before you can walk...but my god crawling is slow.
Sure is a step in the right direction.
We are on the radar and blipping.
It doesn't get any clearer...

It has been that way pretty much since they implemented that feature on Pinksheets.
Wouldn't a speculative volume increase push the pps up and not down?
I've been in IDTA for a long time. I don't like the behavioral patterns of the company. A little too pinksheet-ish for my liking.
We need significant, factual, substantiated news.
We need financial information.
We need to get a grip on the share structure.
Financial debt would be far more reassuring than continuing to over-inflate the OS. If we had financial debt then I would be reassured because it tells me a financial institution or individual has enough faith to lend us the money.
Financial transparency is required and well over-due. Don't worry, we can take it.
SB
That PR is a great checklist, provided by the company, for us to hold them to.
Nice one for sure.
I think we need an update to know if we have business with UNDOC before we can even ask this question.
The order from back to front is carriage, horse then carrot.
No carrots please.
Hey Richie - I have to agree that some clarification would certainly make his post more interesting.
"the PPS won't go any where positive through questionable pumping and "to dah moon" touting."
However, your statement may be true regardless of who said it.
Best of luck to all,
SB
Vista you're certainly right. In fact, when I read that article that was one of the first things I was looking for as it would be an entirely different market. However, given what I read in those two articles I'd much rather have IDTA on hand rather than a "dowsing rod".
If the `ADE-651` actually worked, I would expect to see them in our airports rather than the scanners currently being rolled out.
A little off topic here, but I also found it odd how one link said the price of the ADE-651 was 8K while the other 40K. Neither here nor there...
It sure would be nice to have a solid PR announcing a solid contract with zero ambiguity.
SB
Wow - those articles describe nothing but a complete Gong Show!
I like this part:
"The American magician and sceptic James Randi has condemned the bomb detectors as a “blatant fraud” and challenged Mr McCormick to prove that the ADE-651 really can find explosives, with the offer of $1 million if he succeeds. The challenge has not been taken up. Senior US military sources have also expressed doubts that it could ever work. "
SB
Thanks - I check with them regularly for updates.
I'm not sure if this link will work.
If it doesn't work for anyone, then just go to sunbiz.org and search for IDTA.
Knowledge is power folks.
Regards,
SB
This begs two questions:
1) Has the issues (IDTA) ever removed the legend from any restricted shares?
2) Would we know if they did? Is there required reporting or is this something we'll never see because we're on the pinks?
SB
Interesting article for sure.
Do we have any IDTA PR's that can tie into the time line they mention; "TSA piloted these kits in late 2008."?
This is a great reminder for us.
Thanks for the list.
My thought are still divided when thinking about these.
On one hand, I think of what will happen when we receive the results - positive or negative.
On the other hand I have concerns about receiving no follow-up.
Take care all.
SB
Hi nathanb - overall, nice post.
Regarding the technical banter, i'd put it at 60/40.
60% nice DD and 40% opinion. Read carefully and decide which is which.
Regarding whom the CEO needs to please, I've stood alone on this one before.
IMO - the CEO needs to first serve the interest of the business and secondly the shareholders. When the business succeeds, the shareholders succeed.
The business cannot thrive because the shareholders are happy - it can only thrive when it is successfully generating cash, new business and repeat business.
All the best,
SB
OT - Drag me into this eh?
I was just trying to figure out a way to watch this at work....I'm sure it is online somewhere...
Did you see the Canucks and Juniors on New Years Eve? OMG - what a night of hockey - both teams with huge comebacks!
...but yes, I was also wondering what brought out the .01 soon comment. New Year optimism? Inside info? Either way, I hope they're right.
SB
If history is an indicator, we've got a bit of a wait.

Personally speaking, I think we should have confirmation of something within 30-40 days, if not sooner. These numbers are purely arbitrary...PFA numbers. (Plucked From Air) :)
We have so many pokers in the fire, something has to ignite.
SB
Richie - are you theorizing no "concrete contracts PRed" before April or May 2010?
Also, do you known when the fiscal year ends for IDTA?
Thanks,
SB

I have Google Alerts which send me an email when it finds news articles about topics I'm interested in. I don't normally get 5 in one day, so I figured it is worth sharing for anyone who may have missed an article.
Here's what they found for me today, about IDTA. :)

Emily - while the news is unfortunate, it might be the catalyst that get's IDTA on the investing RADAR for many people. Combined with intelligent PR's and social networking, this could really be the beginning of a big push north.
We shall see.
I'm not sure what CAP is.
I meant SEO - Search Engine Optimization.
Anyone searching for news about the attempted bombing will likely be displayed IDTA related items in the Search Results Page (SRP)
This is very big news...lots of people searching for information about it...lots of people being exposed to IDTA.
For example, if you search google for "airplane explosives", you will likely see IDTA is displayed in many of the results on page 1.
Well done.
BTW - My sister and her family live in London...hate to think of what could have happened.
I'm thinking out loud here...I'm not sure how many will get this statement:
From an SEO perspective, today's PR's are a brilliant strategy.
This is kind of off topic, but very relevant to the business.
;)
SB
Richie - glad you pointed this out.
I was thinking the same thing. This could have been an entirely different PR on its own.
It's been said a million times before, but I'll take the risk and say it again...There sure is a lot going on...
Happy Holidays everyone....all the best.
SB
Gotta agree with Pip on this one. This way they'll have a better indication of the quality too.
I'm surprised my Google Alert hasn't picked this up yet...It should be interesting when it does.
I think you've been around long enough to know what typically happens on good news.
I'm somewhat content with going sideways on news...for once.
Part of me thinks is is a good purge prior to the next run.
Part of me wonders why the dump?
Part of me wonders who the dumper is?
After that, there's not much of me left.
Technical issues I can help with - IDTA issues are another story...
The document is a .tif format. Obviously not the most friendly.

Hey Richie - yes, I blame you as a bad influence. :)
CVS was definitely in the picture in 2003. Scroll way down to April 2003 http://www.identa.biz/pressrelease.asp
To be frank - this goes 1 of 2 ways.
momo play versus legit play
I prefer legit as it has the potential to make me more money.
Having said that, I'd much rather take the momo play than a bath on this.
Regarding the game - what a blowout! After writing my pissy post I felt much better watching that game. It sure makes for a better ride home for the 'nucks.
Take care
Do you really want to put it in perspective?
Here's perspective for you - IDTA has been "negotiating" with "US drug store chains" since at least early 2003.
We'd better have competent representation by now.
Let's get this show on the road already.
Regarding GSA - demmo47 made a very good point.
There is a massive difference between a contract and being certified.
Hey Richie - thanks for the reminder of the website.
The fact the site is locked out tells us they're working on it and don't want us to see the site until they're ready. The "lock-out" method they're using also prevents crawlers and bots from accessing the site.
And just a little useless info here..the site or rather the domain was created:
Creation Date: 06-oct-2008
Take care,
SB
All i hear in my head is Dave Letterman's "Will it float?" song.

UNODC in the news
World failing to dent heroin trade, U.N. warns
http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/10/21/un.heroin.trade/index.html
Sure would be great to have the UNODC as both buyers and research partners.
Funny you mention that. I was just reading the CDN$ is actually going down, it's just slower than the USD$. Since the USD is sinking faster it appears as though the canuck buck is going up!
Welcome home - looks like you brought the rain with you.
OFF TOPIC:
Holy geesh - Hey Richie (and all Canadians)you guys see what the dollar is doing today? It's at .97.
Go IDTA. :)
SB
Great question Richie - I have to say I've asked that one to myself too.
Why would the UNODC want a scientific relationship with anyone? I can understand they want to utilize the best and most efficient technologies out there, but why would they want to get in the ring on the development side of things? Other than a customized product, what do they have to gain? I really don't know. It's possible they have very specific needs which can only be met by having an extremely close relationship. This is great for both parties. (Talk about guaranteed business for IDTA...)
Obviously from the "affiliation" aspect, IDTA has everything to gain. Look at the volume that was created based on the last PR.
If this 'scientific relationship' expedites or otherwise improves the court approval, then I'm all for it. At the UN level, which court are we talking about? If this means the Hague, then I can only believe this would mean broad acceptance across the courts of many countries.
Regards,
SB
The UNODC is willing not only to purchase Identa products but to also develop a scientific and training relationship with Identa.
Words over looked...from today's PR.
I find the last 3 words here quite interesting.
"The intention of UNODC is to replace in the near future the "old" kind of kit by a new one, a reliable and safe one, probably from Identa."
If you want to call it speculation, it's coming from good source. They're not my words.... :)
Curious, eh?
Regards,
SB
Didn't they say there were going to be like 8 people in this meeting? Since they hold these meetings all the time I have hard time picturing them running out to buy IDTA, not to mention the implications of insider trading.
Having said that, I believe nothing but good news will eventually come out of the meeting. Keep in mind, this a presentation. If any orders came out of this, I would be shocked and thrilled, however at this point, IMO, it will only warrant further investigation by the UNODC. That is what I expect to see in the PR...assuming we get one.
Regards,
SB
" ...invited to present IDenta drug detectors to officials of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). UNODC offices are located in Vienna - Austria.
IDenta management also expects to present the IDenta precursors and the IDenta Alert explosive detectors.
At the meeting will be between 6-10 participants from UNODC , including the head of the office. "
