I'm very lucky, I have a Marriott time share in Marbella - it's my home resort. It's full of American day traders ha ha
Hi Dog. How are you? I should have flown to Malaga on holiday last Sunday but all flights cancelled due to the volcanic ash. Have re-booked for Thursday this week and it looks hopeful. Sorry I'll miss Cologne. Trust you have a good time....I'm sure you will. bertie
Hi Weave. You're up early.
Sorry - pressed the wrong button Maico.
In relation to recent postings and simply my opinion but for those who are in the Den specifically to follow Monk's FLD strategy:
If a post comes in that is not in alignment with where you want your life to go, ignore it, let it go. Don’t ponder on it, don’t consider it, don’t analyze it, simply re-direct your focus on the direction that you wish to travel. You are in control of your own destiny and, if you want to listen to the advice of these unsolicited postings, you cannot possibly also be considered a member of the team following the PROVEN advice of Monk. FWIW bertie
Just got 5500 @ .5 - filled in seconds
Thx Sidney
On the 5 mins I have found that using tabbed web pages is plenty fast enough. I usually have both F's, my broker and Monk's Den tabbed and when I put in my order to buy I prepare my next order, i.e. same to sell, ready for my exit. I don't know what operating system you have but generally tabs are accessed by holding down "Ctrl" as you enter your web search, or in my case from my bookmarks (or favourites in XP). I'm not a techie but this might help. bertie
Hi Connie. I have been live trading and started the 1 mins this week. I have been in touch with a few of the Den for their advice because the 1 mins are very much more volatile and less of a "guarantee", not even 85%, so I have slowed down and gone back to 5 mins. Had a lovely PM from Mel, as you can imagine, with some very sound advice - you girls are truly remarkable. bertie
Thanks for the confirmation. We seem to be on the same page throughout.
Hi Sydney. I think you are right so far today. No confirmations so, on the 5 mins, we shouldn't be entering the trade, should we? Perhaps I've got something wrong here. Nice to talk with you - it seems an age since PHX. bertie
I saw you on the photograph. Would appreciate your comments on the second Monkinar - I am hoping to go to Boston - as I am finding the 1 min chart less "comfortable" than the 5 min, but only started trading the 1 min yesterday and the F's were both a bit "sideways". Glad you enjoyed it and I hope you behaved yourself.
From the UK: Good Morning Den, especially the graduates of Indianapolis. I know how positive you must all feel today, well remembering how I felt, and still do, the immediate days following the Phoenix event.
Have fun and enjoy,
bertie
I don't have any special knowledge in this but I assume that, because the shares cannot be traded electronically, they have to be transferred in certificate form, hence the additional charges that J2T have to charge to recover the charges made by the TA to issue certificates. Somebody with greater knowledge needs to answer this question but, it is now expensive to buy E*** if you are with J2T, and it would probably take two weeks to transfer the account if it is with a different clearing house. I am with J2T and I am hoping that the matter is cleared up in the next week as was intimated in an earlier post.
Following a telecon today I understand the situation with J2T and E*** is related to the stock not being dtc eligible and they have decided to recover the costs of manual certificates charged by the TA. Other firms charge more per trade (J2T only$2.50 c/w say $7.50 elsewhere) and are absorbing the costs. I assume the situation will be resolved if/when the stock becomes dtc eligible. To transfer from J2T would cost $75 plus a $50 admin fee. Perhaps someone should be in touch with the company to see why this stock is not dtc eligible.
No, I wasn't offended. I very much appreciated your comments and you were correct. Profit is profit at the end of the day. I was just saying that sometimes we are tempted to stay in too long and I think, on reflection, that was my problem this morning. I had opportunities to get out but waited a little too long in anticipation of bigger profits when the signs weren't there. As I said, Monk has now pointed me in the right direction. My apologies that you misunderstood my reply. Thanks, Bertie
This is true; I was probably just a bit greedy and should have taken profit. Monk has sent me some guidance on this. We are really so lucky to have a family like this!!!
Just hit FAZ and took some profit; in conversation (PM) with tdksp84 over the charts and he got in earlier and I think he has got out later - I'm not sure because he has had to go to a meeting.......... he is still in the W thing. Feel better now that I've taken profit rather than get out too late, as earlier. The chart is going sideways in any case so I feel more relaxed about it being out. I suppose there are days like this; I overcome it by looking at the FLD's - all showing good profit for me especially EIGH where I got in really early and have built up a pretty good number of shares at a really good price.
Hi Sidney, long time no speak. For the first time since Phoenix I'm finding it difficult to make any money on the F's. I've been in, sure I have interpreted all the signals (they have been quite strong at times) and had to get out breaking even or losing a little, the stock having moved sideways rather than continue up. I keep expecting FAZ to burst out of the doldrums and it keeps threatening to do so and FAS continues to go up when I am expecting it to fall. Anyway, not too much of a problem but a bit annoying. I'll have to get hold of Monk to make them move the right way. I'm hoping to get to Boston Monkinar and will see you there if that's on your agenda.
bertie
I think it may be running out of steam but you still have the magic touch staying in this long.
Sure did. Faz looking interesting
Thanks Mel. Just doing most of what the boss told me although I don't throw pens or fire people on a regular basis - does that help? I don't have the sherrif and his deputies to maintain control this side of the pond - how do you spell sheriff? Oh, that looks better.
Thanks, Monk. Your "appro" is worth a couple of booyahs to me.
Glad to hear it. Thank for your reply. I got out too early but it appears a lot of others did the same. Hoping we'll get a "reversal" on the FAZ. bertie
Good morning all; good early run on FAS even for us 5min learners. I am sure you 1 min guys made a bit of a killing. Looks like a good week ahead for us all.
bertie
Hi Monk; Easter Saturday, UK. Glad you enjoyed your hols and Happy Easter. I don't know how I missed your post so apologies for the delay in replying. Doing well on the 5 mins - cautious, not chicken - and just following what you taught at PHX with no pain, only gain. Hope to get to Boston and make it a holiday with my wife or to Europe for the first advanced - can't make Cologne in May, unfortunately. Thanks again for PHX and the opportunity and choices you have given us all for our own personal freedom, whatever that may be.
bertie
You're right. Even looks OK on the 5min. I'll give it a go this last hour.
No. I live in a mediaeval village called Wybunbury, pronounced Winberry, near a mediaeval market town, Nantwich, full of black and white timbered buildings, full of history. I am very lucky. It is about 45mins driving south of Manchester. That is the North West of England - very beautiful in parts (the Lake District - Wordsworth's "I wandered lonely as a cloud.......", North Wales and the Peak District, all beauty spots close by)and full of old, now converted, cotton mills and a significant part of the industrial revolution. Cotton and tobacco are part of our heritage and links with the US with Liverpool (again about 45 mins drive from me)at one time the world's largest port to handle the import from the US and, sadly slave trade back to the US.
Here endeth the lesson..............
I will. We had snow here this morning - 1st April; Spring; daffodils; and snow - Connie, you wouldn't like it.
Doesn't look too strong on the 5 mins. Thanks for the tip and I'll keep an eye on it.
bertie
Hi Sidney; I like the new photograph. I see the trading is going well. Have a good weekend
Thanks BJ. Nice to hear from you also
Thanks Weave. I enjoy your humour on the posts but miss the live laughs
Hi Den, very slow on the 5 min F's today - hope you superfast 1 min guys are doing better. Anyway, the coffee is good and I am enjoying the posts on the den and the three FLD. Have a good holiday in the US - I don't think you have Monday as well, do you? We do in the UK.
bertie
I would like to go to Boston; isn't that where they speak proper - sorry, correct - English? Cheers. Hope to see you there.
I owe a few people acknowledgements of and replies to their kind posts; sorry, I've lost them - they appear to have disappeared in a puff of green smoke with a booyah! Thanks everyone and my apologies again.
Thank you for your post; that's really nice
You're right, a great group of people
I just want to concur with everything Aquasong has said. I also had a long trip - 21 hours outbound from the UK on Friday and 14 hours return to UK on Wednesday; still jet lagged. Apart from the complete understanding of the "plan", the weekend was extremely positive and motivational and everyone should attend if at all possible. Thanks to all for your company, humour and friendship; special thanks to Mel for her organisational skills and to "the projectionist" - he was brilliant.

Doing some dd and came across these. Designs look excellent. www.brand8000inc.com and www.brand8000.com. What do you think?
