how many short squeezes have you witnessed, out of curiousity? i have never seen one. it would be great if this is a real one, but i'm afraid to get my hopes up.
so uhh wheres the short squeeze? bueller? anyone?
You have to fedex them to the transfer agent and pay a fee to get issued new shares.
as of today i still had qbid shares. ameritrade is my broker.
Honestly if I had been in Fan's position, I would have done the same thing. Why show up just to hear what you already knew, and face a mob of angry ex-employees? Yes it sucks that they weren't paid what they were owed. Hopefully they will get paid eventually. I'll be a cautious half full glass person and give Fan the benefit of the doubt for now.
when i say internal to the broker, i mean the trades may be occuring between clients of the same broker, which would be easy for the broker to resolve once it actually recieved the shares.
like I said, maybe those trades are occuring internal to the brokers.
I have not recieved my split shares yet, but i have bought and sold some of the new shares.
Maybe the transactions are occuring internal to the brokers.
today's volume was under 1 billion in pre-split terms. also DonLeopoldo, why is $5 the "short squeeze" mark? what info are you basing that on?
I think you do a good job red.
heh. i was thinking the same thing reddog.
most of the traders have probably lost interest and moved on to more active stocks. I sold mine yesterday. Not a bad company, just very little activity on the stock.
the 52 week high is listed on yahoo finance as being .60, so I think its safe to assume noone got 5.00 a share.
probably the customer support person making a typo. i'm willing to bet everyone's account will reflect a 1:50000 split.
look at it this way:
the entire float of qbid is only worth 20% of cppc. that is how i read it anyway. my personal opinion.
it says 1951 because its the same shell that has changed names multiple times... the previous incarnation was TMM, the current one is cinemax. of course there is no certainty that cppc is legally connected to the canadian entity, but i'm fairly certain in a couple of weeks you will have cppc shares in place of your qbid shares. there are already alot of smoke and mirrors to this stock, please do not fabricate new ones.
the cinemax name is registered in the US:
http://www.secstate.wa.gov/corps/search_detail.aspx?ubi=601047757
also qbid no longer trades, if you try to pull up a chart on ameritrade for qbid, it redirects you to cppc.
how do you know its not further dilution.
in my account it bounces back and forth between zero value and the value at .0001. do yourself a favor and stop watching it closely, all you're going to do is stress yourself out. the new shares will be there when they get there, and they are pretty much worthless anyway.
147,629 shares traded today which is equivalent to about 7.38 billion in pre-split volume.
because TMM was incorporated in Washington state, so that is where the corp is registered.
i wonder who's buying. certainly not me.
we closed at .32 today which is even with friday's close. I find this interesting. today 183k shares were traded, which is about 9.14 billion shares in pre-split volume.
"desperate" is really a relative term, since shares are 95% cheaper now than pre-split.
i think they were trying to put a larger piece of the float into the hands of traders who were going to sell quickly.
ok dood. do i even need to mention the name Yukos?
well i never take long term positions, mine are 6 months at the most, and I do covered call options which reduce my risk. maybe you should rethink your investment strategy.
the major exchanges are not so bad. unfortunately the pinks are a regulatory no-mans land.
i wonder who is buying.
so far we are at 7.5 billion in pre-split equivalent volume.
150k x 50k= 7.5 billion
what was the actual size of the trade though.
could you please post a link to that. the only reference i see is regarding transfer of shares, not inquiries about the o/s.
wouldn't the TA be aware of that? has anyone actually called the TA?
wow 100k volume already today. and only 1.8 hours into the trading day. seems to be alot of selling pressure.
ahh memories.
i think there are more unknowns than knowns about the rules for naked short covering. i would be interested in reading some real info about how it works, but i'm not sure there is really any info to be had since the average investor can't do it through a regular broker, so all you are left with is message board rumors. someone in a hedgefund would have to write a book and i doubt they will ever do that.
