POPstar Success Extends People Line IP Phone Service Coverage
<serf -- play the Clint Eastwood music>
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 8, 2005, Sep 8, 2005 (PRIMEZONE via COMTEX) -- POPstar Communications (Pink Sheets:POPC) announced today as part of its re-organization it has appointed new officers and directors to carry out its marketing implementation plan and is seeking licensing ISP operators throughout the world.
The POPstar unified messaging platform was designed for the global market, supports international languages and allows users in China, Japan and other Asian countries to generate messages in their own language for onward transmission. Edward Gallagher, CEO, states this is a major advantage, China is one of the fastest growing Internet markets in the world and the usage of fax continues to grow. Recently IP phone services have been integrated with the messaging platform to complete the communications loop and offer users a one-stop source for their IP telephony services. The POPstar messaging platform has a proven record in Asia, also with corporate America providing Internet fax services on a daily basis. POPstar can draw on its in-house development programs which includes a comprehensive multi-service billing system in addition to the messaging services and its long experience in Asia to kick start the introduction of its People Line Brand of converged IP telephony Services.
POPstar has successfully completed trials of the new IP services in Vancouver during which the market grew at a rate in the order of 30% per month. The Company is now set to build on this success with expansion into other Canadian Cities starting with Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal. The People Line brand of managed services on offer include phone, fax and email services for residential and small business users starting for as little as $9.95 per month. Attractive packages are on offer for business starting with a simple virtual office feature set of IP phone, fax and email services at $19.95 to a comprehensive list of IP PBX and messaging services for the bigger office and all services are presented on one bill.
People Line services include unlimited free local calling, pay-as-you-go long distance, call forwarding, call display, voice mail, number portability to allow users to keep their old phone number, 411, 911 and others. In addition we take advantage of our in-house developments to add IP fax and e-mail services to the voice package to offer a complete virtual office solution to small business owners. We target feature conscious users who are looking for something different from Broadband services other than a cheap phone bundled with long distance minutes they may never use. People Line sells the long distance minutes separately, allows users to pick, choose and pay for only the services and features they need and offers non-proprietary devices which they can keep and use on others systems. Russ McDermott, the VP of marketing for People line services, said, "Our customer base is growing rapidly so we must be doing something right and our focus on customer satisfaction is paying off."
In a recent multiple residence fire disaster in Vancouver, all communication was lost except POPstar customers who simply attached their equipment to another ISP and phone was totally operable using the same phone number. In other instances the local phone-company was having labor problems and unable to deliver service we provided a local film company with hosted IP PBX services the same day. The reason is the Company's products run on Sun and Linux platforms and are fully compatible with Cisco and other gateways supporting H323 and SIP protocols. The Company operates a OSP compatible Clearing house to route VoIP global traffic also a combined SIP soft switch and messaging services are sold under the Company's People Line Brand providing voice mail, fax, email, virtual PBX, call display, number portability and other services at very attractive rates.
About POPstar and People Line
POPstar is listed on the Pink Sheets (POPC) and was established in 1998 to develop and sell VoIP/FoIP products and services to other Service Providers around the Globe. POPstar launched its People Line Brand of retail IP telephony services to local users in Vancouver in 2004. POPstar has its own line of unified messaging products that have been proven both in the corporate and service provider market for several years and People Line is able to take advantage of these developments. The Company products run on Sun and Linux platforms are compatible with Cisco gateways and support both SIP and H323 devices.
