We can debate this all day, and actually the debate is part of the good that comes from this board.
I guess we have no way to prove what is gleaned from a call to the company. If Goldmind says he called the company and heard something, do we believe that? No. That is why each stockholder is told to call the company, if they want to.
But other information comes from non company sources as LT has discussed many times on this board. Most of us, some of us, are here because we know somebody who knows somebody..... And we hear and see things. The point of sharing those things is to keep people informed in a way that the company can't. This process would be better off private, like all the rest of the certifications have been, I admit it. And if knowledgable people keep getting bashed for sharing, it WILL become private because the information sharing will stop.
I happen to agree with you. But I am in a position to be able to witness the progress this company is making. If it is not fast enough or public enough for you, that is your decision to make.
I know you have read regulation FD so you know that if the company itself were to disclose material information, they would be required to then publically disclose the same. Many of us receive our information through other means. And we try to share it. Attacking the company for not disclosing makes no sense.
You are driving knowledgable people off this board.
Search this forum for the words girt bar and you will find posts to read about it. That discussion ended quickly because it was resolved.
If you think there is something that has not been disclosed, please ask the question, somebody will get that answer for you.
The bar issue was immediately resolved and that is the reason it is no longer being talked about.please ask, if you need to know anything more about the girt bar, we can discuss again.
If you knew anything about the airline industry, you would know that recurrent training is about safety, not food handling.
We do not agree. This airline will get certified. You are one of the few negative, hateful members here and I don't know why.
Baltic, not yet being certified, cannot fly. That is the reason they do not yet have the hours from the pilots and flight attendants.
I don't know how much simpler I can state it.
Idle or not, they requalify. Every 6 and 12 months.
The point is nobody knows. This board surely has someone who can find out. It was not made public because it did not need to be public.
At least one? Yea, but how many? Nobody knows because it was not public information.
How many evacuation attempts?
I have been searching for an hour looking for any PRs regarding Easterns evacs or proving runs. There were none. Baltia is producing the same number of PRs regarding evac and proving runs. And that is NONE. This process is something that does not warrant progress reports, other than at the end of each Phase.
Baltia is working to get through this process, and now that Eastern is out of the way, maybe the FAA will have more time for us.
Today Eastern Airlines received its Part 121 certificate. Baltia will be next.
Anybody able to find out how long it took Eastern? Three years?
Be sure to click the link above, four companies showing potential. Baltia is included.
Revenue begins with proving runs. Proving runs begin when the FAA says they can begin. Until that time, anybody with any sense and any knowledge of the airline industry is buying more shares and waiting through this normal process.
Please explain how an evac dilutes stock, I can find not connection between the two.
Baltia will be allowed to carry cargo on all proving flights, generating revenue. Ticket sales will begin during proving flights, generating revenue.
This is a tiny little glitch, a baby glitch. Nobody should be panicking over this. It is like a fly speck on a window. Like a scuff on a shoe.
I have done all the buying I can do. And yet I want more.
Trips might be coming? You mean Captain Trips from the movie The Stand? We are all going to die?
Thanks for the info AMV89. It is confirmation of what we were hoping for.
That is 705, the first plane they had. The number of the current plane is 706.
They have replacement slides, ready to be installed.
You are lost. Go to the other end of the airport, where all the planes are. And all the cars are parked. And all the RVs are parked.
No, no, you are missing everything! You are at the dump behind the airport! Those are seagulls you are watching!
Honey, you are in the wrong place! Go down by the other hanger. Where the big plane with the rooster on the tail is! You are watching the medical helicopters!
BTL103, we think
Strange comment to make, to a post that does not mention Baltia. In regard to Baltias past evacs, there is only so much you can do with known problems such as with slides. It is an industry wide problem, I would have been suspicious if an evac success rate was higher than the rate during an emergency. Let's just get through this and move on to proving runs. This evac subject is so boring.
The new Eastern airlines is flying charter. FAA certification will take another 12 to 18 months. It is not the same.
If all we had to rely on was company news, most of us would not be HERE. All must take information with common sense, but most of us would have lost interest and sold if we did not receive additional information from an unofficial source occasionally. And after all this time, we know who can be trusted and who cannot.
The proving runs are the final affirmation that the systems are performing as intended. The processes were throughly reviewed during the tabletop exercises. Data will be collected on all of the elements to be reviewed and the data will be analysed. If any issues are observed, they will be discussed and the procedures will be improved.
This is the final stage before the end of phase lll, it is not a test, more like a review.
Proving flights are not pass/fail. These flights are Performance Assessment. The FAA will continue to identify deficiencies but mostly they will affirm the system they are assessing. First domestically, then internationally.
Scheduling an evac requires around 50 FAA personnel, and that is why they take some time to reschedule.
Once proving flights begin, one FAA person per flight is required and the proving flight schedule is known before hand so it is much easier to plan.
Proving flights will probably take a month to complete.
That slide looks big to me, could I have the option of a rope ladder instead? ??
That is the way the mini evacuation test is done. By the book, that is how it is described. 50% of the emergency exits and slides must be ready for use in 15 seconds or less.
Half of the slides are blocked by the FAA. The crew does not know which slides are blocked and when the emergency is announced and they find certain doors blocked, they have to handle that problem and deploy the rest of the slides.
The problem as I understand it, is with the language of the FAA documents. As follows from their documentation:
(13) For a partial demonstration, each FAA observer assigned to an exit to be used will determine if the assigned exit was opened and each slide or slideraft was ready for use before the termination signal. Should any exit, slide, or slideraft remain not ready for use after the termination signal, the demonstration will be declared unsatisfactory.
That rule, has no language that provides an exception. I know nothing about the brainstorming that went on last Friday, but my guess would be that either a request for an exception will be made, or an alternative acceptable method will be proposed and tested.
I don't think challenging the FAA or filing suite against the FAA is even possible. You have to work within their description of what it means to successfully pass.
But it can be a matter of interpretation.
Not to say the PR won't happen but that alias was created today and they spelled Baltia wrong.
Slides are repacked in Florida. They have stockpiled extra slides so the deployed slides can be removed and instantly replaced. Ready for proving flights or another evac demonstration if that is required.
