I originally posted this to Sterling, but would appreciate anyone's take on it who has trading experience. Thanks much!
Sterling, I would love to hear your input on this. After reading the following link, I am trying to figure out what sort of position we are in with ARTS.
http://www.davemanuel.com/2008/02/06/what-is-a-stocks-float-and-why-is-it-important/
I'm sure that the amount of volume traded must come into play here as well, but given that as of today we have a float of 531,179,430 and a Market Cap of $916,747 my thought is that with any good news, we will have a steady rise of pps over several days, rather than a fast spike. What is your take? TIA

I'm going to stick with OTOW for a while too. I like what I've been reading - think they have real potential. Would love to see them hit .10!
FYI: It is Artfest Direct that has changed to Starfest Direct. NOT Artfest International.
Excellent! Thanks for all the work you obviously put into this - much appreciated.
Monday, Monday! So good to me!! I have the feeling we are going to see some great things happen next week - Go ARTS!!!!
Thanks, however I'm completely ignorant when it comes to understanding how to read these things. I appreciate any help you can give - I'm still a newbie!
Does anyone know what the number of floating shares is for ARTS? TIA
The email I have for EV is evakser@artfestinternational.com
Welcome aboard and GLTY!
For many investors here, it's not just the last quarter that has them frustrated. From what I can see, you probably got in to this stock close to the bottom, and that is great for you. But there are lots of people here who invested back when this stock was much higher - they've not only lost significant amounts of money, but they've been waiting for deals to be completed. Some of these, like the Luxor acquisition, have been in suspension for close to a year.
The other thing to consider is that we were promised in the PR about the open house that details about the new PR firm would be released, that we would be updated on the progress of various projects and the Art Channel lineup for the fall. That didn't happen, and nothing has been released about any of it yet. No one likes empty promises.
Once projects are completed, and we can see for ourselves that they are done deals (new PR firm, Rhupert series, Luxor, Kinkade, Picasso), I think the frustration levels will drop considerably and the PPS will run. When that does happen, don't blink!
Go ARTS! Let's close some deals!!
So has Ms. Gilot verified that it is indeed an authentic piece? Maybe she told Steve Wynn???
Charitable donation in support of ARTS...
As of June 30th, yes. However, if their agreement is to work to find a buyer for it, they are just a middle man, am I correct? It wouldn't have to go on their books until the date that they sell it to someone else - a turnaround deal. Meaning it would be there as a purchase and then a sale immediately after. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I understood them to be doing.
You're correct, Specutator. This is obsolete, since the June 11th addendum. So they have until early December to sell (or announce that they have sold) the Picasso. If they've sold it already, there's no motivation for them to announce it, because they have money to work with, and don't need the pps to move right away. Keeping the pps down also gives them the opportunity to buy back shares for as little as possible, IMO.
If you were the CEO and sold the Picasso, would you really tell everyone about it immediately? Or would you try to buy back some of your stock first? And, if you were going to buy back some of your stock, wouldn't you want to buy it back as cheaply as you possibly could?? A PR would get in the way of that, so of course you'd hold off a while, right? Until you were done buying back what you wanted?
Maybe he used to...I've emailed him a few times with specific questions, and he hasn't answered at all.
Thank you, CB!
Just confused, I guess, as they list the old address at the bottom of the website, but on the contact us link they give the new address. Not to mention that both locations are talked about in today's PR.
One more question, if I may ask. Is the Expo Center, located at 13342 Midway Rd., Suite 250, Dallas TX, the location that they are no longer leasing??
LOL! I really don't think you do...but that's okay. I'll keep asking my questions, even if they seem ignorant or negative or whatever to you. I want to continue to learn as much as I can about the company I'm investing in.
Are you sure it isn't 5200 square feet? It doesn't look like 52,000 to me. And why would they downsize?
No, but thanks. In all the reading I have done, I somehow missed that one entirely. Man, I wish I could get to Dallas and check these places out!
Where is their 52,000 square foot facility? Or was that an error in today's PR? I only knew about Maximedia Studios...TIA for any info.
The increase in operating revenue is due to the increased sales of art and sports memorabilia through the Company's wholly owned subsidiary, Charity Sports Distributor, as well as through events held at Artfest International's 52,000 square foot facility in Dallas, Texas, and direct sales activity through its Art Channel, Inc. and Art Channel Galleries, Inc. subsidiaries.
Very well said, Serafin. I agree wholeheartedly.
Looks like some good momentum going with OTOW this morning! Keep it UP!!!
Could it be that MT's friend is buying his 400M now? Great time to get in! Go ARTS!!
The PR was a little less than I had hoped for, only because they still have not released any information about the new PR firm. Since they didn't talk about it on Saturday (according to Sterling), I really thought it would come out in the next PR. It would be great to hear about that soon.
GLTA
I agree - thank you, Sterling!
My sincere apologies...it was TakinitLong who said there was no NDA signed.
Does the CEO have an open door policy via email, or phone, for those of us who can't just pick up and travel thousands of miles to speak to him?
I agree. With all that we were told to wait on because of the meeting this past weekend and the news that would come, and now nothing? And Max Power said no one had to sign a NDA, so I'm not getting it.
I've emailed Matt with Invesor Relations again,as the follow-up he promised hasn't happened yet, either. They say "no news is good news", but this is strange. More empty promises??
Thanks, Max Power, for the photos. It was a good start, and well-intentioned, I'm sure.
Who was at the event for artists, etc. that ARTS is currently working with? What did ARTS share about the progress of current undertakings? Did they show clips from the Rhupert series? What is happening with Luxor?
Chill, dude. I don't recall anyone saying that they were going to the open house other than you, Sterling and Max Power. And no, I've done nothing but buy shares since I started in June. I still have my 50+M shares and don't plan on selling anytime soon. Looking forward to hearing some news, though.
Little Red Rhupert was written by D.Arthur Wilson, and according to what I read on Amazon.com, was published in May 2006. This is what the television program is based on.
I don't think so, bgdreamz. I would take it that they had a very eventful and exciting day/evening. I'm sure we'll hear things in a while.
Yeah, thanks man! Doin' what I can to help ARTS out here! The point to all is that there are some great things going on with the company.
Good start, Pete! In addition to what you've listed, here are some other positives:
1. The new location will also = more exposure for the company
2. The Rhupert television program for children will be airing this fall.
3. Starfest Direct offers the opportunity for people to make income from home as independent dealers.
Huge thumbs up!! It's good to know that there are some other Real People out there! Good luck to you as well! and Go ARTS!!
I spoke with Matt in Investor Relations. He searched for the PR from September 2008, but was not able to locate it. He told me that they don't keep PRs on file after a certain amount of time, and his company did not represent Artfest in 2008. I forwarded the link to him via email, and he said that he would be sure that the company reviewed and explained it. He said that emailing EV directly is not the best, as he is inundated with emails daily (understandably).
I am supposed to hear back from Matt on Monday...will keep you updated.
GLTA
You think? or do you know? Earlier you said "ARTS is buying up shares." Are they, or are you just hoping that they are? I for one, hope that they are, because that would be great, but I am not able to say for certain that that's what's happening. I agree with your statement...don't believe everything you read.
