Integral Announces ElectriPlast(TM) US Patent Update
Wednesday, August 08, 2007 09:30ET
BELLINGHAM, Wash., Aug 08, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Integral Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:ITKG) ("Integral"), announced today that its impressive US patent portfolio anchored by its award-winning ElectriPlast(TM) technology has now grown to 31 patents issued and/or allowed but awaiting issuance, and 87 pending.
The portfolio is a centerpiece of Integral's strategy to aggressively develop, protect, and market its innovations. Integral's patent holdings encompass a broad range of ElectriPlast(TM) developments including core technology, key applications and related micron conductive fiber technology.
Integral's patent portfolio is pivotal to its strategies for marketing, manufacturing and licensing. Integral is now aggressively marketing ElectriPlast(TM) molding material to many end-product manufacturers. As these products come on-line, direct sales of ElectriPlast(TM) molding materials will grow. Integral's ownership of fundamental ElectriPlast(TM) patents -- both for the ElectriPlast(TM) material and for applications based on that material -- will enable Integral to maintain strong material pricing leverage. Integral, with its manufacturing partner, Jasper Rubber Products Inc. is rapidly developing manufacturing capacity to meet the anticipated market for its ElectriPlast(TM) molding material. Integral's portfolio protects its position, and that of its partners, as they confidently invest in capacity gains. As the technology matures, additional patent filings should capture additional innovations to further solidify Integral's position in the market. Finally, the portfolio provides a storehouse of future licensing opportunities that will grow in value with the ElectriPlast(TM) market.
The patent portfolio may be divided into three main types of patents -- core technology, key applications, and related micron conductive fiber technology. The core technology patents include composition and techniques for manufacturing ElectriPlast(TM) moldable capsules. A first core technology patent was recently issued while several patents are pending. Development of high volume ElectriPlast(TM) manufacturing capability has spawned new core technology innovations. These innovations are constantly evaluated for viability as new patent filings. Some innovations may be maintained as trade secrets where appropriate.
Numerous key applications exploit the unique properties of the ElectriPlast(TM) material. Integral's patent portfolio includes patents drawn to key applications that are seen as fundamental to future product developments. For example, ElectriPlast(TM) is ideally suited to many antenna applications due to its unique combination of conductivity and resonance capability. Therefore, several patents have been filed that incorporate ElectriPlast(TM) into antenna designs and that claim numerous innovations optimally suited to ElectriPlast(TM) antennas. Additional key applications for ElectriPlast(TM) include, for example, heating elements, thermal management (cooling) devices, electromagnetic energy shielding and absorption devices, sparking devices, magnetic devices, conductor devices and acoustic devices. Further, patents have been filed for numerous key applications where ElectriPlast(TM) is an excellent replacement for existing materials such as metal. Key material replacement patents include, for example, automotive components, airplane components and medical devices.
Further research and development efforts at Integral have resulted in additional exciting and innovative technologies. ElectiOnix(TM) and ElectriPonix(TM) are two technologies based on the same micron conductive fiber as ElectriPlast(TM). The portfolio includes patent applications for ElectiOnix(TM) and ElectriPonix(TM). In ElectiOnix(TM) technology, excellent heating elements are formed by bundling micron conductive fiber strands. Fiber bundles containing thousands of micron fibers strands exhibit excellent conductivity due to their large cumulative surface conduction area. However, the micron diametric size of each fiber strand creates a very small per strand heat capacity. As a result, ElectiOnix(TM) heating elements exhibit very rapid heating and cooling.
In ElectriPonix(TM) technology, bundles of micron conductive fiber are coated with resin-based material to create an exceptional wiring product. ElectriPonix(TM) wiring may be in a variety of applications including power distribution, signal communication, and heating. In addition, the micron conductive fiber bundle technology of ElectriOnix(TM) or ElectriPonix(TM) may be combined with the conductive ElectriPlast(TM) molding material to create other unique products.

Integral and Jasper Finalize ElectriPlast(TM) Production Pricing
via COMTEX
July 25, 2007
BELLINGHAM, Wash., Jul 25, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Integral Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:ITKG) ("Integral"), announces that it has finalized its pricing arrangement with Jasper Rubber Products Inc. ("Jasper") (www.jasperrubber.com) for the manufacture of Integral's proprietary and revolutionary ElectriPlast(TM) product, the world's first highly conductive polymer for use in antennas, shielding, heating, cooling, circuitry and medical devices to name a few.
The Amendment to the Manufacturing Agreement (November 2006) finalizes the manufacturing costs from Jasper to Integral for the production of the ElectriPlast(TM) material. The Amendment also provides for Jasper the right to sell ElectriPlast(TM) to customers. This will be facilitated through Jasper's established sales force of over 30 people throughout North America.
Commenting on this recent development, Doug Mathias, CEO and President of Jasper Rubber, said, "We have spent the last seven months refining the manufacturing process of ElectriPlast(TM). This has allowed us to present ElectriPlast(TM) with confidence to several interested companies that have come to visit our facility. With the production process of the ElectriPlast(TM) material established, we are now in a position to produce and deliver prototypes and production product to customers who have demonstrated needs for ElectriPlast(TM) and a wide variety of its applications."
Integral's intellectual property consists of 30 US patents, including a patent on its foundation product, ElectriPlast(TM), and 87 US pending patents on a multitude of different ElectriPlast(TM) applications.

Might I add the following to your, err ah, brief post:
It should be noted that The US Patent Office cites McCullough's earlier patent in its findings for Integral: The USPO issued a patent to Aisenbrey, anyway. Both patents are for thermal conductors. However, McCullough's is a "composition" of different weight conductors in the same mix, as well as different layers. In contrast, Aisenbrey's thermal conductor focuses on one kind of conductor per doping, and a single homogenous layer.
It appears that the ElectriPlast thermal conductor will be easier to manufacture. This cost issue and simplified manufacturing process may be why certain electronic and computer companies are seriously interested in Integral Technologies thermal conductor, as opposed to McCullough's.
In a conversation I had with the company a number of years ago, they were convinced there was no serious competition, and that their recipe was superior to the others out there.
Apparently the US Patent Office also believed there was either enough difference or a huge improvement to grant Integral patent number 7,027,304 last year.
No doubt as Integral Technologies moves forward, they will have competition. They never will own 100% of the market, no matter how good their IP is: such is the way of manufacturing. However, it's more important to be first to the market, and currently Integral seems to have the position.
stockster5:
Everybody needs a friend; Matt has you. I though am still looking!
Sicarius:
I would be amazed if Integral Technologies' Patent Attorneys and the United States Patent Office made the mistake you are intimating.
I'll attempt to contact the company in Rhode Island this week and see if they are aware of ElectriPlast. Why don’t you contact Integral Technologies and see if they’re aware of Kevin McCullough, Cool Polymers, or Chip Cooler?
stockster5:
Questioning Short Matt or his Storm Troopers will get you in trouble and probably get this post deleted.

Sicarius:
Continuing our conversation, would you please advise me of any product made of, or containing the, “Thermally conductive composite material invented by McCullough; Kevin A. (Warwick, RI) and Assigned to Chip Coolers, Inc. (Warwick, RI)?"
Thanking you in advance, and before you ask, no, there are no products I am aware of containing or made of ElectriPlast that are available in any market.
Sicarius:
I believe the patents are similar but not identical. I question if the USPO would issue two patents for the same product/idea?
Sicarius:
Would you please provide a link to the posted information and the relevance of the information as it relates to Integral Technologies and or ElectriPlast?
Thanking you in advance

Our Take:
Date and Time: 2007-07-10 00:00:00
A COMPANY THOMAS EDISON WOULD LOVE
Since topping $4 in December, ITKG shares have been on a downtrend that took it as low as $1.25 a few weeks ago. Then, without any news or apparent catalysts, the stock turned on a dime and is now trading above $2.
We've often referred to Integral as being a genuinely long-term play -- think of it as an advanced incubator for breakthrough materials. There's no question that it's got an exciting technology with excellent market prospects.
And we've gotta give them points for being focused. Like Thomas Edison, these guys stick to a problem until it's solved. As he said: "Genius [inventing] was 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration."
But only patient shareholders need apply here. Although progress is steady, it's certainly not the sort that's busting down the door of new customers. And even when they might have things to review and talk about, management isn't eager to issue press releases or do interviews.
Still, in a recent issue of Modern Plastics Worldwide, the reporter noted that capacity for its conductive polymer composite, ElectriPlast, is being increased, with one pelletizing line already in use and a second on order at its manufacturing partner Jasper Rubber Products.
The article also mentioned Integral's "new focus" on wire and cable products, with an ElectriPlast-based car-battery cable. "Potentially replacing heavier rubber-jacketed copper cables, the ElectriPlast cable, which suspends copper particles in a polymer matrix, is 80% lighter than its copper counterpart and has already completed life-cycle testing for one potential customer, enduring varying amperage loads and 24/7 operation for three months in an environmental chamber. The cables are non-corrosive, including their lugs, and maintain the conductive properties of copper."
Integral, using Jasper as its compounder, has created more than 15,000 recipes. As impressive as this is, it will only take a handful of successful ones to establish Integral as a player in this new market for their materials.
Separately, Integral was recently awarded four new patents. Interestingly, two involved a spark plug manufactured from the company's ElectriPlast. A third covers "low-cost antenna devices."
Based on these developments and the improved activity in ITKG shares, we expect to hear news from the company soon. In any case, be patient and stick with this stock and stay tuned for more details in the near future.
