Is "if" the paramount key word in your post?
viking86, the presentation is at 8:30 am standard pacific time so that would leave them enough time to have a filing in before the conference.
Just tried to register but Sphere 3D presentation isn't "clickable"
....but don't forget everyone has its reputation and that's not easy to get rid off.
redwing992006, can you post the link of that video? Thanks.
There were 2 articles with quite a different way to present and name "matter", it's interesting to combine contents and contemplate for a while:
http://www.neowin.net/news/leaked-slides-detail-microsofts-nano-server---the-future-nucleus-of-windows-server
http://www.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/news/2397869/mwc-microsoft-details-how-universal-apps-will-run-across-different-device-formats
And indeed logic tells us neither Michael K nor Peter B would prefer not to tweet about the contents if this "developments" would be negative for S3D.
To me this isn't to be classified as "noise"!
And the sheer volume is very telling!
Thanks for your diligence JB!
Sure sons4, his hint couldn't be more obvious and I believe this will boost the S3D V3 sales a lot!
donkschmonk, in some of my previous messages I have:
- iterated the increased sales of RDX and the fact that with the most recent RDX generation S3D is capable to take in a lot of customers that previously bought via a licencee.
- that EMC dropped Ingram Micro as their distributor and that Promark will consequently try to fill the vacuum created with some OVRL products that were recently upgraded
- that tape storage is getting more popular again...
These are good reasons why I see OVRL will do much better than last year when the integration of Tandberg wasn't fully consumed and re-organisation with cost saving had only started in the last 2 Q
Great development, nice to read that!
Jason McGee, IBM Cloud explains why it's the year of the hybrid cloud
Interesting and it confirm to me that S3D is on the right path
http://socialbusinesssandy.com/2015/02/23/coffee-break-jason-mcgee-ibm-cloud-cto-explains-why-this-is-the-year-of-the-hybrid-cloud/
We again had a bit of a smack down to paint the tape in the last seconds...
a buyout of 5-20B within the next 12-24 mos renders a pps of 135 to 540..
UBOL gets to sit on the sidelines as interested observers
sons4, also here we'll have you and your wife in thoughts during our daily meditation, hoping you both have the love of the family and the strength to get through this challenge! As other poster friends wrote, medicine has made big strides and chances of recovery are encouraging.
Yes, it's a very good article indeed!
I intend to make some comments tomorrow.
JB3729, just to add to Pepsi's statement, in the case of ANY it sometimes feels justified to wean yourself from that type of humanity.
In a few months from now it will be considered as "noise".
ANY is steadily progressing and it won't help to persist in a state of denial.
Correct way to interpret this!
Tempe may be or become a Beta implementer and yes, who wouldn't love to see it become a "Case Study" along the path of "off the shelf" solutions for the Government vertical.
Obviously what LWL does with its customers providing support and service with solutions such as Stratusphere FIT, ProfileUnity and FlexApp is like rolling out the red carpet for S3D as it becomes a lot easier to implement Glassware 2.0 and V3 DCO 2.5. I think both parties know that and need to find the time to integrate/package their solutions so they become more attractive, more economic, more ubiquitous and irresistible.
I guess for now S3D tends puts the priority on "sell, sell, sell" and that they are overwhelmed with customer demand and opportunities, so mgmt is putting some priorities. However, deep inside I am convinced that execution of a partnership with LWL mentioned in previous tweets needs to happen early enough in 2015 to allow for acceleration of business development, increased sales and enlarging the S3D geek community.
Orion Nebula, me too I find it intriguing how S3D might fit into the large players strategy and needs.
Have you noticed this article
Here are the conclusions...me thinks S3D certainly has something to offer:
Rebuilding your company structure, business model and leadership team on the fly is no small game. Still, Microsoft is making immediate bets for that could bear out over the long term. The good news is that strategy is no longer a big question mark hanging over Microsoft. Instead, it’s a matter of execution. If the company can pull off its vision, it has a shot at more than just mobile, even including virtual reality computing platforms that remain more smoke than fire
And than he also completely ignores the great updates and news about 42% increased shipped capacity of OVRL RDX QuickStor through licensee and direct OVRL channels, followed by the news about the news of their next generation RDX+ technology exclusively sold through S3D which should ramp up sales even more!

Thanks blueblizzy, that's a very helpful explanation.
yes Orion Nebula, that was a very inspiring read!
I think you are spot-on here, hitting the hammer on the nail.
IMHO HF, brokers and TSXv will do whatever they can to prevent the greater public and authorities to know the level of collusion that accommodated naked shorting of ANY on the TSXv. Consequently they slow down the shares reconciliation process to give more time to themselves to clear out the mess.
That's why we haven't seen the real short numbers on Nasdaq that should represent reconciled shares.
What can we do? Sending in a complaint with Finra and ask them what is supposed to be the normal term for reconciliation?
What happens when GW gets put on a chip and included in TIOT
Blueblizzy, your insight into what S3D & GW can do in the future is spot-on!
Speculation comments from me: Glassware could potentially do the same for all apps on all desktop and mobile platforms. Creating a platform-agnostic app store: Android, iOS/OSX (from using the open source XNU kernel just like how CyanogenMod bypassed Android), Android, Windows, Linux, etc?
Thanks a lot Blueblizzy, that's a very interesting and also encouraging read! I need to digest that a bit further but I do see some positive points for S3D and GW here...
Very well said Pepsiman and as for me I love to see Peter takes some time out to enjoy life with family and does an effort to keep a healthy spirit in a healthy body.
Is'nt it silly that some people here vent their frustration on someone who has done what he could to be forth coming with some nice S3D information?
Good you are adding "Everything I say is in my opinion (IMO)." below your post.
We clearly don't share your opinion.
Very well said donkschmonk!
Of course there are those people that have their own motivation to exploit certain news events to their own advantage, especially when they perceive some people believe it and become vulnerable.
I really see no reason why Pinetree Cap would select to sell some ANY now that the merger is completed, a multi-year OEM embedded agreement was signed with MS and Promark, one of the "IT Wallmarts" has chosen felt there was more than enough reason to promote and sell S3D products and solutions.
When doing a search on SA for Silverline's instablog, there is a page that mentions "silverline17 doesn't have any Instablog posts"
But I was able to fish it up via the webcache function and made some printscreens before it disappears completely.
Possibly SA asked to revise some part?

Not everyone thinks this is normal!
Even Jason Karcher from Google Chromebooks says ANY is a buy:
Jason Katcher ?@jkatcher74 o
$ANY slammed on 4x vol yesterday. Buy "@michael_keen: Looking forward to this gr8 partnership http://www2.marketwire.com/mw/release_html_b1?release_id=1170718 … cc: @Sphere3D @promark"
After seeing Silverline's post 16503 I felt it was worth to do some further sleuthing work. Revenues grew 11 per cent to $11.23bn for the period ended September, oiled in no small way by portable device shipments hurtling out of Brightpoint, a business Ingram bought for $850m at the end of 2012.
IMHO Sphere 3D just announced a “Monster Deal” with Ingram Micro / Promark Technology which I expect will lead to a quick ramp-up of some lucrative earnings for 2015!
Here is what The Channel Register wrote about Ingram Micro late 2014:
Technology and Solutions, the classic IT wholesaling arm of Ingram, grew five per cent to more than $9.2bn, but Mobility - the shining star of the show - was up nearly 50 per cent year-on-year to $2bn, the company stated.
Sales in North America leaped by almost a fifth year-on-year to $5.1bn; the Mobility unit expanded by nearly 200 per cent;
Just put the links together: Mobility – BYOD – V3 Virtualization – Apps virtualization with Glassware 2.0
Here, another article: “The Truth about Ingram Micro’s Foray into the Cloud Service Provider Space”
Next, based on some DD I learned that Promark Technology signed a distribution deal with Nutanix in July 2013 and in the following year achieved a revenue for Nutanix that was worth about 45% of Nutanix overall revenue of approx $100 Million! Within this period Ingram Micro expanded the cooperation: Nutanix Converged Infrastructure Now Available Through Ingram Micro
With the deal announced today it’s clear to me that Sphere 3D is capable to grab some good chunk of Nutanix business with Ingram and that should be very telling that the current market cap for Sphere 3D is “bizarre” and out of sync with what is happening on the business side.
According recent press articles the current market valuation for Nutanix is estimated at +/- $3 Billion and Nutanix is expected to go for IPO in the near future...
Last but not least, I think we can all appreciate how Ingram Micro as one of the important Channel partners for formerly Overland is now even more valuable for the merged S3D/OVRL company. It proves by itself that the integration of companies is proceeding properly and leading to fruition with Promark starting to sell the V50, V100 and V200 packages and solutions that were recently jointly developed by S3D and OVRL.
Sphere 3D's V3 Hyper-Converged Platforms Now Available Through Promark
Expanded Alliance With Overland Storage and Promark Enables Sphere 3D to Expand Reach and Better Address Market Demand for Simple, High-Performance, Virtualization Solutions That Can Be Deployed Through Distributed Private and Public Cloud Infrastructures
SAN JOSE, CA and MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan 22, 2015 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- Sphere 3D Corporation ANY, -0.46% a leading provider of virtualization technology and data management solutions, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Overland Storage, has expanded its distribution agreement with Promark, a premier U.S.-focused value-added distributor (VAD) and wholly-owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro, Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, Promark will offer Sphere 3D's virtualization product solutions and continue to offer the Overland Storage portfolio in the U.S.
Sphere 3D's virtualization solutions include the V3 series of purpose-built hyper-converged appliances for enterprise VDI and desktop cloud computing. The V3 platform consolidates the server and storage tiers into a single, integrated appliance, and through its unique and highly distributable architecture, is capable of delivering data center performance at multi-site environments. Seamless data center level integration is accomplished by housing every system and software-critical component within hyper-converged appliances, and shipping them pre-tuned for easy deployment. V3 scales virtual desktops in increments of 50, 100, or 200 Windows desktops, with guaranteed performance regardless of worker type. Simplified management is achieved through the V3 Desktop Cloud Orchestrator(TM) (DCO) software, which acts as a single pane of glass for provisioning, management and deployment of virtual desktop images, pools and infrastructure.
V3's distributed hyper-converged architecture is different from other integrated and hyper-converged monolithic solutions that often require rip and replace of existing infrastructure. V3 appliances can seamlessly integrate with a customer's already deployed IT infrastructure, offering unmatched flexibility and choice including use of existing on or offsite storage infrastructure. With substantially less hardware to support, and the ability to perform distributed deployments of virtual desktops through a single user-friendly interface, customers benefit from simplified IT management and reduced total cost of ownership.
"Promark has the market knowledge and experience required to effectively bring our disruptive virtualization products to market," said Eric Kelly, chairman and CEO of Sphere 3D. "This alliance with Overland Storage and Promark is an important strategic addition to our established, worldwide channel partner infrastructure that will allow us to accelerate the adoption of our differentiated products and solutions, and enable VAR partners to maximize their business opportunities."
"End users and IT solutions providers are looking for choices and flexibility as they embrace cloud mobility and the relentless data growth in their environments," said Todd Hartung, vice president of Promark. "Our expanded relationship with Overland Storage and parent company Sphere 3D expands our solution portfolio, delivering more choice to our channel partners and empowering them to meet the expanding IT requirements of end users."

Nice to see that there are some buyers here who understand the value!
Congrats for those who were able to catch the low...I wasn't around to watch the ticker.
In theory, I think customers that want to also run Docker containerized apps could leverage their Glassware implementations to do so. Host a Linux OS template with Docker installed. Docker could then leverage all of GW's features including clustering. Manage it all through GW's management tools. Containers in containers.
Thanks Lucror, that's a great article!
Why no PR yet?
My take is that there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes that Dell doesn't want to surface yet.
And from Sphere 3D's side they don't want to see the Dell Servers + Glassware being sold as a commodity, it's a lot better to sell projects with a combination of hardware and software + service. They get much more value out of that.
Let's be patient and not succumb to emotions
