Hi Tom
Robert Lichello's classic aim book is now available as an E-book from Amazon in kindle format . Possibly other formats too. I haven't checked Barnes and Noble
Just thought you would like to know.
Hi Toofuzzy
I thought about your reply. Which Funds would be good to start looking at.
Hi mark
In using your stratergy.
a. Does the stocks have to be in the same industry or can any highly corelatted group of stocks do. I believe vs 4. has a corelation program.
b. What value of the corelation coeficent in your experience is good cut off for being highly corelated. In other words what minimal value is good secure value to get reasonable results.
Hi Mark
I rely a lot on your Value Stock 4.0 program. I was wondering if you or anyone had done a study of the acuracy of the future price predictions of your algorithm. Also do you have suggestions as to the best use of the information from the program. Do you have any tips or suggestions how others use it.
A fellow named ocroft who post on the aim site , has a technique for
using S&p A+ stocks as his investment universe . When aimed and the pc stops increasing and 13 day average crosses the 26 day average. It is a potential buy. How can I use VSS to affirm a buy decision if possible. Is there any way to use it to confirm a sell .
I know I'm asking for a lot of information.
Thank you

Hi ocroft
I have a question on proceedure. If a stock is bought on the first upward swing in price after going down in price by your rules and meets the rules for a buy. Then it dives furhter do you sell out or just ride it out untill it turns up.
can you post some real examples of good stocks that succeeded and others that didn't so we can study them.
I am a great admirer of your technique . Thank you for posting
Yahoo finance has artivcle on timing the market today. Basicly espousing an aim like point of view
Just wish to alert any one interested

Hi tom
I'm trying to figure out what is UBaHS.
Is there a post or a web site I can go to, to learn more
Thanks
Hi ocroft
Confirmation of your system was supplied by charles schwab "on investing " fall 2010 issue magazine.
Their A anmd b rated stocks (their best) that had the least rise the previous year performed at 18.9 % advance compared to the previous years best advancers a and b rated stocks that advanced only 12.3%
A similar system giving similar results to yours.
Hi adam , ocroft
I just googled ben stein . Stein-demuth.com . They have a 15 year graph of the S&p p/e.
I like ocrofts system as he answers what and when to buy automaticly . I just don't trust my own decisions as when it is best to sell. I was originally a buy and hold investor. I am looking for a suggestion as to when to sell automaticly as the last piece of the puzzle.
Lost cowboy in reply to ocroft suggested the reverse procedure when the market tops for that stock. do you or anyone else has a better suggestion or insight as to how I can automate leaving a position. As I understand it he, ocroft , closes out his position 100% when his criteria for a sale has been met.
Hi Adam ,orcroft
On Systematic Investment Board #966 . The moderator posted a study By Ben Stein . Post #72.
Basicly a Low p/e of 1 standard deviation triggered a buy on The DJI average and likewise a sell 1 Standard deviation above.
The technique doubled the dow's returns. I refer you to the board for the full report.
I guess entry point is very important.
Hi Tom
In general has anyone did research on the entry point of buying into a stock on the end results of aimning. What brought the question to mind was a program on W. Buffet. He only bought into a stock when its valuations was favorable.
Does it matter when we aim as in orcrofts method or does over the long run a relatively little difference. In my mind I think it matters but I don't have any hard facts or proof
Hi Make it Jake
"YOU CAN STILL MAKE IT IN THE MARKET" was his last book in wich he revised the rules of his method. This is the book I would buy if I wanted his most recent method. It is similar to O'Neil's can slim method. That is what I remember of it. On amazon .com The book list for about $13 . Darvas would cut his losses immediately if the price dropped below the boundary of his box charting system.
Hi JMP
There was a fellow named Darvis. Who was popular in the 60's. He had a method of charting a price within a certain range. He used a box method. He was a momentum investor. You might look him up and see if his technique would be applicable to your goals. Perhaps you could modufy it for aiming.
good luck
Malthus one of the sources that Charles Darwin used in his synthesis of his theories dealt with a hypothetical bubble of unlimited population exspansion
by elephants that eventually filled the universe.
WE might keep putting off the peak but it will be reached and there will be a collapse. As the Buddah said nothing is forever. Hopefully we can plan for it and pre vent the human misery that will ensue.
Hi orcroft
Were you able to compare the lists. Theirs only had 32 shares listed. If any shares are in question as to what they are let me know
I purchased the aim book . I've worked problems by hand. I'm ready to make trial runs on paper . Is there anything else I should be doing.
Is there an equivalent list for foreign stocks specifically ADR?
Thanks for sharing

Hi orcroft
thank you for your reply
I checked the book it is the "standard and poor's 500 guide"
isbn 978-0-07-170336-9 page xxvii
has this title
STOCKS WITH A+ RATING
BASED ON THE ISSUES INTHIS HANDBOOK, THIS SCREEN SHOWS STOCKS OF ALL COMPANIES WITH STANDARD AND POOR'S QUALITY RANKING OF A+
There are probably different publications this one does have your a+ stocks
perhaps some one on this board can clarify this discrepency
Thank you for helping me .
Hi orcroft
What lenth of time are the Macd averages. The long and short you use for confirmation?
To all on page xxvii is the list in 2010 s&p guide of A+ stocks . Or close to that page if i'm wrong.
Thank you orcroft for sharing
Hi orcroft
Thank you
Hi orcroft
I have a procedural question on your system
I purchased a s&p guide. There are two ratings using letters. The credit system worthiness and the quality ranking. Which is the apropiate rating you use in your system. Eg. GE credit rating or is AA+ in credit worthiness bur only a in quality rating A . Not A+. Which ranking do you use? Credit or quality rating.
Again thank you for sharing your method

Hi orcroft
I am trying to understand your technique
I read your post on investing using the pc. I read the replies of others.
I have a question about selling do you let the price rise until it the price starts falling and sell or do you follow the aim classical suggestion of I assume multiple sells.
I ordered the book you read to get a better feel for the process and the underlying logic of your A+ /aim system.
Any information will be greatly welcomed.
Thank you
Hi orcroft
Thank you. I'll follow those leads
Hi Orcroft
Thank you for posting your experience
I am a value investor . I discovered the aim boards recently , I was wondering what are the full rules
besides a+ s&p ratings . Are there other factors beside this that brings a stock to your attention. I would like to unite my conservative nature with an aim program. I think you might have done that and I would like to learn more. What source or web site do you use to find A+ stocks.
Any help would be appreciated
Hi et
The only parallel I can think of was the alaskan oil spill of a ship called the valdes or such. I think exon owned them. I'm not sure if comparisons are correct but it looks as the gulf disaster is more pervasive because the gulf is built up. Yet exon survived.
Citi bank and other entities crashed recently yet if timed right presented some oportunities if bought at the bottom. But no one has that insight .
What do you think ?
I am trying your automatic investment software.
When I try to load berkshire hathway , Warren Buffe'ts company. your software doesn't recognize it. How would i put in its symbol? I tried analyzing historical data.
another observation
Just 6 stocks passed the value stock selectors default screen this monday. Has any one else used it as a barometer of the market?
Just an observation
when using value stock selector in default settings, The amount of stocks passing the is way down in numbers compared to when the market was way down. There might be some predictive value to this. A recent screen had only 8 passing stocks compared to 20 or 30 when the market was more fragile.
P.s. aptus at the advance aim board put it in perspective for me.
hello aptus
I was wondering if the number of stocks selected by the value stock selector in default settings could be used as an indicator of stock activity. Today only 8 stocks were selected. In the past near the bottom of the market many nmore were selected. I didn't keep records .I wish I did. Could it be used like a v wave indicator on the aim users board, for overbought or oversold markets. I will wait for your answer then repost this on the aim board if it is ok with you. Thjey might know the answer.
