Have you noticed we've been in a bull market for awhile? 3x bear funds generally underperform when that happens. <G>
Pat
It hit $1.24 in AH. I don't think it's been that cheap since last December. I wonder if they'll try to take it lower yet.
Pat
A real fire sale since its recent bump. I wonder what precipitated this.
Pat
Since most of the big details of the tax plan are already out there, don't you think that's factored into the market already?
Pat
All of this may be true. The only point I'm trying to make is that if you're patient with buying, I believe you'll be able to get nearly twice as many shares for the same price as you'd pay today. Either way, good luck.
Pat
I hope you're right. There will be plenty of time to establish a position if/when that move begins. I never expect to catch the absolute low or sell at the absolute high but I'm always happy to take a chunk between those two extremes.
Pat
I think MNXXF has potential. I just think that it will hit .25 before it hits .50 again. When it gets down to that neighborhood I'll probably bite as a speculative play. I just believe that getting in now is premature. IMHO. We'll see soon enough. There's plenty of time to watch this one.
Pat
Are you trying to convince us or are you trying to convince yourself? You pretty much own this forum.
I don't doubt the potential but I still think it's dead money for a year or more. Timing is everything.
Pat
.... and you're holding this for a couple of weeks?
Pat
I think the better manganese play at the moment is American Manganese Inc. (AMYZF). MNXXF probably has a future but I think it will take time to develop. Timing is everything and at this time, I'm more impressed with AMYZF for a short and intermediate term play. For the long term, there will probably be room for both in a portfolio. IMHO
Pat
I didn't make any reference to a buyout price. That's an entirely different issue.
Pat
You're right about Thursday. I think we know that their numbers are not going to impress but I'm less certain how that will impact the share price. History suggests an unfavorable reaction. There are a lot of "newbies" who have been attracted to "the alluring story" who might get spooked if they think they've been misled after seeing numbers that disappoint their GME type optimism. I'm looking for a drop after the earnings call but nothing too significant or enduring. It might present a reasonable opportunity for those looking to establish a new position.
My more pressing concern is that the April event might not meet the lofty expectations that many have come to believe are "a given". If indeed we've worked ourselves into a frenzy about April's anticipated "game changer" and it disappoints or goes relatively unnoticed, we might once again visit the single digits. I'm keeping some dry powder in case that comes to fruition. Having said that, I'm actually hoping that people get to make fun of this post when my concerns are proven completely unwarranted! <G>
Pat
I won't be disappointed if the last statement in your message comes to fruition!
There's certainly a possibility that we won't see $7.50 before a definitive acquisition agreement is reached by the company if that's the path they ultimately travel ..... and that's fine. I don't really want to load a disproportionate share of my portfolio in any one stock but my resistance to that idea could be weakened if it got to that $7.50 level. Otherwise I'm content with the balance that I have. Time will tell. If today was simply a general market bounce before a decline that resumes next week, I may have to make that decision. I'm fairly certain I'd pull the trigger at that level assuming I don't find anything more attractive before then.
Good luck.
Pat
If it starts sniffing around the $7.50 range I'll add to my position. I'm satisfied with my current position but it would be difficult for me to resist adding at that price. I think the market in general still has room for more downside next week and MVIS will be caught up in that trend. Their traditional dip after they announce earnings on Thursday could exacerbate their current direction. I don't see any change in the potential for the company though. GLTA
Pat
Interesting stock but it sounds like it may be "dead money" for awhile yet. TESLA is the wild card. You never know what they're going to do next. Sometimes I think even Elon doesn't know. He'll soon have well-funded competition in the EV space which could be a plus.
Pat
These guys must really be on top of things if they're still making predictions about what they think will happen by 2020.
Pat
It wouldn't be surprising if the share price chooses to go sniffing around the gap created today before it resumes its climb. The action today may be a little overdone since there wasn't any news or a new rumor to account for the nice upward move. Even if that decline does happen, it will recover soon enough and ultimately make this stock attractive at even higher levels. I wouldn't be disappointed, however, if it doesn't retreat and continues its upward thrust.
Pat
If your broker can't provide you answers to questions about your holdings with them, then it's a good bet that a stranger on a stock forum can't either. As an aside, you might want to raise your priority for finding a different broker.
Pat
Good question.
It's still trading today. Oddly, it printed .138 at one point this morning. What's that all about? I thought it odd when someone was buying at .13 within the past couple of weeks! Must have been someone making a "fat finger" error.
Pat
"Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty we are free at last." <G>
Good luck to all.
Pat
I'm guessing that MKRS might be seeing what we can't yet see. Their "sugar daddy" might not be a part of their life for much longer. They're probably looking to get out while they can salvage something. My concern is that if this deal tanks, the next offer, if any, would be paid from someone's petty cash account. "A bird in the hand ....."
We'll see soon enough.
Good luck.
Pat
Metaverse apparently didn't split. Is that correct?
Pat
"What do you think is next ?"
Another question from you asking "What do you think is next ?"
Pat
Assuming this merger/sale ultimately gets the green light, has anyone heard an approximate timetable for the effective date of the share payout?
TIA
Pat
"Additionally the company never defends them self's from the short players and the news they put out stating the company is not worth the current valuation!"
Publicly addressing "opinions "about the company being overvalued would only serve the purpose of providing additional exposure to negative publicity. Providing a second opportunity to view negative publicity to someone who may have missed it the first time is never advisable. There's an unwritten PR rule that once you've established the precedent of disputing negative "opinions", you have to comment on every one of them from that point forward. The first time that you ignore one invites the accuser to double down by claiming that their opinion must be valid since the company has made no attempt to defend itself as it has always done in the past. Though it may be counter-intuitive, playing that style of defense is not always a good strategy.
Pat
Insightful commentary on TNA. Please post more often.
Pat
Yes, I suspect the price will change due to trading. <G>
Pat
What was the catalyst for the big jolt at the close?
Pat
"So who's buying and what do they know??"
A case could easily be made that those who are buying don't know anything.
Pat
This isn't "ready for the dumpster" in spite of some prognostications. The idea is still to buy lower and sell higher rather than the other way around. <G>
Pat
Yep, he's had his hand in more pilots than an Air Force proctologist.
Pat
I had my eyes wide open since I knew it was a one-trick pony. They had a great niche account and it was no great secret that one false move could eliminate their only customer. It appears that has happened. For all of his faults, Meaney was likely singularly responsible for keeping the Navy account open for this long. There are enough stories circulating in the news that teach us that Defense contracts last until a younger or more attractive person walks into the room! I had hoped another source of revenue for MKRS would move the stock higher. It didn't happen so it's time to move on.
I'll vote "yes" only because in the unlikely event the vote would fail, we'd get a lot less than 13 cents since their negotiating position with other buyers is diminished since the company no longer has a "sugar daddy" to pay their rent. I don't have any interest in reducing what value I'll get out of them for the satisfaction of expressing my displeasure for people I've never met and will never again think of once their check clears.
I was aware of the gambling risk and it turns out I didn't have good enough cards with this hand. Am I happy about it? Nope, but it's time to find a different casino, ante up, and deal the cards.
Good luck with the next hand!
Pat
Interesting. You're making me think that perhaps we should be relieved that we can get 13 cents! <G> This one was a long term gambling stock for me. I didn't roll "snake-eyes" but it didn't turn out the way I would have liked it to turn out. In hindsight it's not a suprise it ended like this. Shareholder value was not particularly high on their priority list. We've known that and have been critical of that for years. Time for them to cut the check and let me move on.
Good luck, velcro.
Pat
I've always believed that Meaney was content with his stewardship of MKRS. In spite of these new developments, I continue to believe that he is content. I've also believed that he wasn't particularly concerned about shareholders and I continue to believe that. So very little has changed from my vantage point with the exception that my relationship with them is coming to an end. There's little left to do but to wait for the check to arrive after everyone signs on the dotted line. Time to move on.
Pat
Why would you think that someone would be held accountable for election fraud?
Pat
I'm sorry that Wilson is having medical issues but it shouldn't take too long to get a one person "management structure" in place to replace the existing complex one-person structure.
Would it be out of bounds to assume that you are introducing yourself as NEIK's next CEO/CFO/PR Director/Chief Negotiator/receptionist/file clerk/typist?
If so, congratulations! You have a tough act to follow to keep this company as the consistent powerhouse enterprise that it has been for years.
Pat
It's been a "future oriented" company for years now .... and, unfortunately for investors, it always will be. <G>
Pat
There sure are a lot of dreamers here.
Pat
The US Navy has been and probably will continue to be their only real source of revenue barring unforeseen defense cuts. MKRS is a one trick pony. The Navy has been a reliable customer but I don't imagine their needs are likely to generate any real growth for MKRS in terms of size or share price. Too bad. Someone different might have been able to parlay this company into something that could have been a nice play. They're good at what they do.
All IMHO.
Pat
"I see we had a big day on volume."
Some elephant choosing to flip some shares! <G>
