teecee:"throw a stick of dynamite in the lake and see what floats to the top"
You never know what will come up. Might even find Jimmy "H" lol
JimLur: If he had and it came out that he was up in Canada this board would have had a field day, trying to get a fix on what's, ifs & buts of why, when, & where. Then if nothing came of it, they (this board) would have burned him at the stake for picking a bad time to visit our Good Buddies to the North. You know that Jim. IMO if that's why he was not there, he did the right thing, keep it quite till the Ink is dry. I for one love the way it played out. At least we got a bunch of new QCOM people to take a look at what IDCC really has, but not all IDCC has.
Norfolk:"I'll bet Merrit called from Canada and confirmed the deal."
Could be why he was not at the CC. Hum, sure would bust a few half/truths that have been going around.
JeffreyHF: has anyone said thank's for speading all that Hummm QCOM love around.
TC: now we know why, all the action on IDCC board. Somebody got wind of this and let all the QCOM boy's & girl's in on it. They just had to come over & say Hello to the "new kid" on the block.
Data_Rox: No your reply was "they don't need to now do they?"
meaning QCOM.
like you, ed & jimmy-g-little.
data-rex-all: then why should IDCC. Just to please little old you. Think not.
bulldzr: does seem like someone sitting in for the "real" jimmy-the-g.
Data_Rox:"How about listing the patent and patent number and the standard"
Do your buddies over at QCOM list there's. If so post a link.
TC:????? when have ever sold, ????????????
ams:"Be constructive, now what part of my message do you disagree with, lets have an intelligent debate"
What part?? 99.9% of ever negative thing you say, to start with. How can you have a "intelligent debate" with someone that never sees the "bright" side on anything. Bet you are full laughs at the Pub's.
ams" have you ever had a good thought about IDCC??????eom
bulldzr:"(Now, this get's somewhat confusing)...if on the other hand"
Have you been taking lesson from G-Jim on double talk.
DD: Well said.eom
GE_Jim:"Find hookwhatever and see how that pipe watching is going"
Don't have to watch them, they have "meter prover's" on them. Know every drop of "crude" that pass's. With the price of crude going up as we speak, this little drop in IDCC share price doesn't hurt at all. Just let them pump an hour longer for a day or two.
Thanks for asking.
spencer:"rocket docket" Believe me, I half way grew up in those East Texas Hills around Marshall, hunting East Texas piney wood routers. When they say "rocket docket" they are not whistling "dixie". If it's during "deer season, it will happen faster.
william_wallace:"It's impossible to know anyone's motivations or agenda."
With mschere & rmarchma's you can take what ever they say to the bank and depost it. Right or Wrong the gave it there best. I want them on my side in any "gun battle", stright shooters.
amrwonderful:"It must really be a challenge for him to hold back."
That's way the good Lord made people like me. To tell the nay-sayers to Kiss-Off. That is if Jim dosen't pull my pos first.lol
redhot:"IDCC has been working w Tantivy since 2001 and hopefully has an inside track on the mystery Qualcomm "...definitive written agreement...".
Not only that but someone posted on the old RB at the time, IDCC had a pretty good size stake in Tantivy. It was mention at the time, "was this the reason all the QCOM people were saying nothing to this deal" they all so said if Tantivy had anything QCOM would have bought them. Looks like they (Tantivy) did and has something now worth going to court with LU on.
lastchoice:"at least prevent panic by the ignorant."
Now lastchoice I said I wolud not sale at any price. Don't talk bad about us ignorant folks that way. OK lol
gman1962:"i am sure there will be some bigger swings in the next 2 days, hold on to your hat!!!"
lol, with earnings coming out in a day or two, that's like saying it want rain in Death Valley in July. It's a given.
gman1962:"inquiring minds what to know why it hasn't happened. it has been a year since idcc and ericy became "buds"."
I have a good "bud" that owe me a Hundred Buck's, he paid me with in a week. Have another "Bud" that owe me $2500.00 took almost a year to pay me. It's about the size owe, takes more time when more money is on the table. I didn't like the longer time frame but the main point "I got what was owed"
JimLur:"wonder what the original 1000 shares would be today?"
The big ??? is where would those 1000 shares be in the future. When you factor in a big run then a split or two, you have to think "Dell millionaire" lol I live in Texas and missed that run. I will not miss on IDCC.
plumear: You make some good points, but most I have to disagree with. Charts may work with a Old Establish Company like IBM or some of the Drug stocks. With a company like IDCC,IMO pitch the chart out the window, anything & everything can happen at any give time. If you have done your DD and decide to get in with both feet the "fundamentals" is the most important thing. You can not afford to be out at any time because you never know what will happen in the next hour with a stock like IDCC. Like the old saying, "you snooze you lose" That was the point in my post. Too take a few $$$ profit at the risk of losing out on a big run is goofy to me. Guess I am old school,"place your bet's, stand at the rail" till the race is over. But then the bookies want let you change horse's in mid race. lol
"Some say they don’t like what they view as a superior attitude when he post"
IMO he does, but then I have never met a good pool player that didn't have it. Goes with the game.lol
"Hookrider, I hope that you do not take offense due to this post."
I don't
teecee:".idc has outperormed the nasdaq...4 to 1...market driven my butt"
IMO he could be right. I have been in the market to buy more IDCC in the same time frame. So I did. But believe me a chart had nothing to do with it. I still believe Mickey when he said "IDCC is a screaming buy," it was when I started buying & still is today. $27.00 a share is chump change. Heck I spent $1400.00 on a "used pipe" on E-Bay.
GE_Jim:"Support didn't have to hold, but it did and here we are."
So if I had "sold" thiking (on your chart) it would go to 9 & I could buy back in. Let's say I had to go out of town for a month or two. When I got back and IDCC was at 18.50, how much would I have lost out on???
As long as we are playing "what if/could have happen" can you answer my question???? With out playing more "what if/could have happen" games.
OT PUNKIN611: You knew Joe & Marty Combs?? Boy it's a small world, indeed.
" I know where North Tex. starts--- any where North of I-10"
I am safe there I grew up in Houston, south of I 10. At one time I would tell the world how great Houston was but not anymore. I will just leave it at that.
"I consider "east Texas" anywhere east of Houston"
I will buy a big part of that. You can see the type's trees change when you cross I 45 headed east. Goes from a few small oak's to Big Tall East Texas Pines. Love the smell of pipes in the morning. Dang I am getting home sick.
OT: bulldzr: Get'ey Up and Go. My con-grats to your son.
OT: PUNKIN611:I made one mistake in my post. It was Columbus Marion "Dad" Joiner not Pop as I said, that brought in the 1st well in the Kilgore Field. It was known as the Daisy #3, the first two, didn't hit.
ST1640:"the great Permian Basin" know it well, worked a lot of rig's out there when I first started in the "patch." Got a Nephew working for BJ out there now. Plus the "Basin" has turned out some great High School Football team's for years. Must be the water.
"Wish all the fields were producing as of old--" they could if they would let us. I get "P" when they say we have no oil. That's BS. It's there, it's just to deep to go down for the $$ right now. Plus we don't have the Tech to bring it up yet. I have re-worked well's my dad help bring in the back in the 30's, believe me it's there.
Maybe when I get rich off IDCC I will show them how.lol
OT:PUNKIN611 "I was born, raised and still live in Beaumont"
Guess that makes us as they say "Home Boy's"lol. You born in Beaumont and me in Orange. I say Orange but I was born literary on the banks of the Sabine River. It was in an house in the old Riverside addition. Our back yard was the Sabine. Sometimes I tell people I am a halh/azz coon/azz because I was conceived in Alexandria, LA and mom said she would not have a kid born in LA. So daddy moved us just over the line. Bet you even know where "Cow Bayou" is. Remember fishing on it with my dad years ago. When I was in High School I ran three times at the Royal Purple Relays there in Beaumont. Dang, those were good times. Had two Great Uncles that lived in Beaumont. Joe & Marty Combs. Joe was an author & Marty was a Judge. Long gone now, lost track of there family.
"old Magnolia plant" that I think is now Mobil Oil. My dad had a chance to buy into it long ago from the man that started it. Don't recall his name now, think he was killed in a Plane crash way back.
"I consider Beaumont South East Texas, but that's splitting hairs." that I will buy. True east Texas would mean anything "east" of Brady. The good folks of the Golden Triangle don't like to think they have anything in common with the folks in Austin. Heck, I live just outside Austin now and don't have anything in common with them.
"Back to IDCC. I have a semilarge position in this stock and have held it for some time. Us longs will reap our just rewards soon. It's just a matter of time."
Same here and IMO we are on the brink of having "The Sun Shining In Our Back Door" In the very near future it will be "Let The Good Times Roll, Let'm Roll, Let'm Roll" for the IDCC longs.
Best to you Beaumont.
PUNKIN611: You are right that Spindletop was the 1st major fine in a Texas Patch. My Dad worked both, in fact I was born in Orange, Texas so I know about the BEAUMONT field. In fact parts of the "old field" is still producing today in & around Sour Lake, TX.
Having said that, I will still say that Pop brought in the "biggest" and the 1st "East Texas" Oil Boom. I take it that you are a Texan, so you know how the argument goes BEAUMONT is "South Texas" not "East Texas" or "Red Dirt" Texas.
Either way both were Great For Texas.
"No offense taken." for sure
OT Learning2vest: "Learning2vest: "I'm looking forward to spending some time at the trial in Marshall, Texas"
About 30 miles due east of Marshall on I 20 is Bossier City, LA . My old stomping grounds, you might run into Memphis at the "black jack" tables. lol. Marshall is a great little town, spent a lot of time there when I was a kid. If you take your wife with you, there is "Marshall Pottery" they turn out some of the best. You will hear about the Christmas Light Parade when you get there. One of the Best In Texas, lol. If you have time check out Kilgore, TX about an hours drive. That is where "The Great East Texas Oil Boom" started. Lot of History in and around East Texas. Some good and some really bad. We don't talk about the bad.
As this is the weekend, I will post more on the IDCC/Tantivy deal. IMO there is a lot more going on than we think. Right now I am trying to buy some Pipes (smoking) on E-Bay
Learning2vest: "if a wireless manufacturer like Lucent has been claiming to have CDMA2000 indemnification rights based on a QCOM contract, the Tantivy lawsuit could force some intense discussions between Lucent and QCOM. IMO that is not going to happen either. These wireless firms all know the facts,"
IMO LU will try to bring who ever it is into the "fight". Remember we are talking LU aka AT&T the grand daddy of Mama Bell. Mama has tried a lot of thing's over the years.
But like you I don't think it will happen.
mschere: What ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mschere:" IMO:Qualcomm..The Company has never made that statement"
I will bow to your thinking. It just seem that way, reading Ed & Data's post. lol
Learning2vest: "IMO the important question is how did QCOM handle the limiting language on any additional indemnification protection when they upgraded Lucent's IS/95 license to include CDMA2000."
QCOM has always said they "own" it all!!! We may get to see them "prove" it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yet.
ziploc:You know Trader Jim is just dying to get back in IDCC, don't bust his little games. If they can get the price down a little, old jim boy will get back in IDCC, for a while!!!!!!!!
3GDollars:"Interdigital and what's-its-name . " Now 3G you know we are to speak nice of QCOM. lol
