All the more reason to own a good position in both phot and plpe.
They will both make huge gains in 2014 if all goes accordingly.
These are blossoming public companies with intentions to get to where the real companies are trading.
I agree with you, but I will have to say the idea of vape buying out phot is a bit fanciful. Always possible one may come to own/benefit from the other though!
Great day plpe fans, phot and plpe lonnnnng.
Beautiful day to have stock in plpe!
Let's see where it lands and if it can hold
Good, sell me your shares!
Probably close red. If it closes green on the last Friday before New Years it would be surprising.
All these 'doctors' not doing their DD :)
I like your style murk, refreshing to see a long term positive ask some hard line questions.
Before I start panic selling over 'broken promises' however, I will be waiting to see what the first months of 2014 bring us.
we could see missed projections as broken promises. I can agree those times were disheartening.
'Just a hydroponics supplier' is an understatement though. It's just the biggest public company supplying all manners of supplies for the Mj industry. If I wanted to invest in 'just a hydroponics company' then I'd be in trt#. See hydroponic growing is just one medium which growers may use.
Just like the stock has been consolidating, so has the company. 2013 was the year of great plans, but it will take 2014 to see what these guys are made of.
I'm not looking to change any minds here, but it's premature to ring the bell before the fighters have entered the arena.
Tell me more about the company working with phot on the kiosks. I'd like to know about their epic failures and how it will relate to our industry and the way phot intends to implement.
Absolutely, there are labs dedicated to testing Mj. They'll tell you CBD content, THC content and they also better be investigating under the microscope.
Unfortunately many won't start with such testing and will just advertise thc content based on the strain itself - even if the grower didn't hit full potential. Inconsistencies like that are found from Amsterdam to California and I've seen it first hand.
Exciting question if phot does anything with cannabis testing - or if another company that specializes in testing goes public. Oh the joys of a home cannabis test.
Correct, there are commercial strains out there that provide high yields, but lesser 'benefit' than those with lower yields.
High yield won't always mean crappy product though, and perfecting high yielding high quality plants should be on the top of everyone's mind.
My opinion has always been variety trumps all. No matter how good any one strain is, your average consumer will eventually tire of single strains and want to venture from their kush to a Cindy-99. From their power plant to a strawberry cough. From their super silver sour diesel to blue cheese and so on and so forth.
Strains have already been globalized and our options are vast. Picking the right strains from the right breeders is another important thing to note for future growers.
Oh mold is TERRIBLE to inhale, don't smoke moldy product!
Please, refuse any moldy material.
What will happen to moldy material is people will be forced to make it into bubble hash. This is the only process I know that will remove most or all of the mold.
Some will get away with breaking down the material into edibles or hash oil, but it depends on how much mold has accumulated.
Smart growers will always always always know their room temperature and humidity from start to the last cure on the very last jar. I use miniature digital gauges to check each day. The goal is to have a slow cure that doesn't yield mold. Many won't succeed with this their first time.
Adding to my previous point about growers and dispensaries -
It should be in grow life's highest interest to finance independent growers looking to expand before they get into financing dispensaries planning self sufficiency.
Independent growers have no direct allegiance and may sell their product freely to shops that will buy. The Independent grower only needs to worry about the product and not if their storefront will attract enough traffic.
All that said, I couldn't tell you how much gear 1-3 million could buy. It works out to over 5 thousand 1k watt lighting systems. About half that if you're including other equipment for climate control, nutrient, medium testing, etc. looking at about 2,500 lighting systems alone. That's enough to fill DOZENS of giant warehouses.
They better have good logistics in place to get all that equipment out.
It all depends on if you are a dispensary with your own grow or a grower looking to provide as an independent to multiple dispensaries.
So far it had dominantly been independent growers competing with each other to sell to dispensaries. This had created a price competition most notable between growers who supply high quantity and quality.
A self sustaining dispensary with dialed in grows that are perpetual is truly ideal. Even then, a dispensary may contact out to independent growers to grow the strains of their choice.
I don't run a dispensary, so it wouldn't be appropriate for me to speculate, but you do have a lot of upfront costs to take care of before ever seeing profit.
1-3 million is so much equipment and far too much for any single grower.
I believe phot has 2 choices that they can choose 1 of 2 or combine. Of combined, then I believe risk is higher.
1. Finance large commercial grower collectives.
2. Finance many small scale growers.
The obvious starting choice is to finance large collectives with high goals and a series of grows already under their belt.
This is why 'vetting' a grower or group of growers is VERY important. Make no mistake, there are a thousand things that could go wrong.
If you gamble on the big grow and someone messes up during the cure and causes mold everywhere, then profits from that grow will be cut by 3/4 or more. They'd have to turn it into hash or concentrate to get the mold out and the yield would be so much lighter than having the full product.
History of branding is great as well.
Grow Life is such a catch of a name.
Look at other companies like herba-life, Salt Life, etc.
It helps when your brand has a name like that, but even more when the people on your team are true professionals and have both legal and business corners covered.
On the contrary, read a book to a child and they hear a nice story. Teach a child how to read and they possess the capabilities to learn any story that they are driven to read,
I wouldn't call it devolving, it's a form of teaching. I'd only call it devolving if you consider the current demand for hand outs to be an evolutionary trait.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Problem solved and someone else did the research for him as expected.
You may have to tell your 'original poster' about the store fronts + online web stores owned by grow life.
Oh but that would raise the count, why be upfront and honest?
Greners.com is internet based....
We also had someone come in here with the "my friend is a grower in California" story - claiming his friend wouldn't buy from greners because they don't provide name brand products.
Then you look at greners, all name brand and highly recommended by grower forums around the net.
If your company is at a point where people are grasping for the most outlandish speculations like false store counts - then it's clear you're on the right track.
The more negativity the better.
If people are this desperate to instill negative feelings with no proof, it just draws in more investors who will then research and make their own choice.
I've come to accept it. I've tried to speak to many of these people to see if they have more to add - Just comes out to more broad assumptions.
Really interesting to see, and even more interesting when phot provides benefit to some of these smaller companies that people are bashing from.
Correct, money talks!
No way this administration can go back now. Source of tax revenue they never had and private business growth they've never seen.
Meanwhile the economy is on the rise and jobless claims are going down.
Jobs, taxes and economy are too big to deny it backpedal on. They know this.
Jermo - good assessment
And mr Lamerica didn't like this stock so much until I had a few posts back and forth.
He and I seriously believe that the Mj industry will mirror the microbrew industry.
If you look at holland, this already happened on a smaller scale. Certain coffee shops have specialty strains and others may specialize in edibles.
Well if you look at California, they have found a way to implement both - business versatility has already been in place.
Here in America everything is a little different, a little more available. Where Amsterdam shops sell a strain because they sell those genetics, North American shops hold more variety of strains because they don't 'own' just one strain.
Here, it's for what the shops decide to buy from any grower and keep in their supply. There will be shops with perpetual grows supply for themselves and there will be freelance growers who will sell to only some shops.
The best growers with most unique strain selection will win out and this will play out in each city if carried out correctly.
Even the best shops will buy great product from independent growers if any of this becomes remotely like California.
It all comes back to the microbrew theme.
Great day of consolidation everyone!
What's an even better sign? The recent activity brought out almost every basher we've had visit in the last 3 months!
Not to mention a few new ones that are trying to fabricate price targets around .08.
This is really great for the stock to have so much attention and desire circling about. Our markets are truly run on emotion, and my mood ring is glowing bright GREEN!
Best wishes to all.
It would be silly not to close red today considering we tipped .15 yesterday.
Lots of people waiting on the sidelines to get in. Better late than never!
I enjoyed the ramblings of our basher fan club today, but also urge those longs not to get over zealous.
You really know you've got something good when everyone and their grandma wants to drive prices down so they can join in.
Good luck everybody!
So why are you so mad then?
Kind of like we laugh at you with mcig? Perhaps traders are upset when phot goes down, but not us who have been here since .06.
Nice try, but try harder. These days facts win.
Care to elaborate besides making broad generalizations?
Heh, the dude has regressed into nonsensical nursery rhymes. No one spends so much time bashing a stock they aren't interested in.
Holy goodness - 71 mil + volume?
Word must be getting around
Back in at .085 - not what I wanted and I will probably see some loss before I see the gain.
Will probably be kicking myself when this trends down around .6-.7 for a day or two.
More worth it to me when this breaks .10 with ticker change and product announcements.
5 million volume - 10 minutes?
Grow life - when is the next wave of financials due out?
Huge retrace last time, somehow I don't believe it will be as much of a drop this one.
Did they ever advise a new guidance for this quarter?
No matter what happens, we are looking at higher highs and higher lows.
News is great, just not something we didn't already know.
Caution to those 'selling on the news'.
Since this is rather unexpected, the real news should come out before January that reinforces how serious this company is.
This is a small crumb of news on what is a very big buffet line of information.
I like mr hunts interview though! Big points to note he is not some stoner trying to run a company!
Aria has fallen much lower than expected. Are we expecting news before January?
Heard you there monkey, Grow life now listed as one of the most active boards on I hub once again.
Lots of eyes on phot and there are going to be some interesting industry wide developments in 2014 that will keep up the momentum.
Said it before and I'll say it again.
I don't go on other Mj boards and bash their stocks because I have done enough research to hold phot long.
Best of luck with mjna. I would be happy to discuss the differences further with you over private email instead of having you turn this into a rage fest ;).
Just ironic he harps on that when Rob Hunt is a dispensary advisor and grow life has done so much to provide to the industry already.
All of a sudden someone invested in a downward Mj stock has concern that the president doesn't have enough experience?
It's laughable, they need a good mix of Mj and business experience. They already have people experienced with Mj. Shaking my head.
This is true Freddy! If you go to these specialty e-cig stores the lines are so long during peak hours and they're usually filled with pack a day smokers looking to kick the habit.
They make varying strengths of liquid ranging from 1-2 cig a day smokers to 1-2 pack a day smokers.
They're also big with female smokers looking for a better way to have that nicotine.
Very interesting thing is these e-cig retail shops are set up so similarly to dispensaries. They have all the liquids of varying strengths and devices to use with it, even disposable cigar looking versions of e cigs are available.
What does this mean for Mj vaporizers in the future? Well if they set up a shop just like ecigs but for Mj vaporizing - it will be a unique niche market to cater to in a rising industry.
That's why I sold at 8's - almost inevitable a little known company will see profit taking out of the stock. I want in at 5 or 6 - but will settle for 7 if I have to.
Yup cnbc covered weedmaps.com - but any exposure to the financial world is good for the industry as a whole.
It would be great to see! I got in on the last run up to .085 but feel I bought this too high. .05-.06 I'm back in.
Take it higher and make your profits so me and highway biker can catch it on the way back ;)
Thank you whoever filled at .08! Hopefully I can put that all back in lower.
Lots of promise here, but enough unknown should keep this volatile in that .04 to .08 range. Fingers crossed.
Northpole - unless you live on the top floor and can exhaust that hot air upwards! I wouldn't recommend carving out a hole in the ceiling of an apartment.
Best effectiveness for carbon filters
Filter --> fan --> ducting to exhaust.
It also works reasonably well with
Filter --> ducting --> fan --> ducting to exhaust.
Worst results for me have happened when the filter is on the end of your exhaust.
