Currently on hold for the conference call. I will update here if anything surprising comes up.
Investors jumped in fairly aggressively and pushed the price up to a high of $37.24 so far today. The conference call begins in about 15 minutes and should reignite the buying if the company can clearly articulate the near and far term benefits of this interesting acquisition. If they can communicate something positive that the market hasn't already factored in, the second half of the day should be interesting indeed.

Aurizon Board of Directors Unanimously Recommends Shareholders Reject the Alamos Hostile Take-Over Bid

Of course you're probably right, but the point I was attempting to make, albeit facetiously, is the unpredictability of events, real or imagined, with respect to narrative driven, penny stocks which actually have a compelling product or service but inadequate execution for whatever reason. The case for ESFS's product is a strong one, and with a wider audience, it could take off again - with or without any substantive execution on the business plan. The economic environment of the past four years has been brutal for capital hungry penny stocks, but I suspect there is a high level of pent up demand for "next big thing" equities from a certain financial segment fed up with minuscule returns on government paper. The biggest "pumper" of them all, the Fed, has been feverishly pumping electronic dollars into the coffers of their nearest and dearest friends, the banksters, since 2007, and I'm thinking some of this massive pile of e-money may finally be working its way out the secret back door and down the weed covered path to the bottom-fishing hole.
Way back in the day, when I first invested in a few shares of ESFS, there was another penny-land stock with an interesting story that flourished for a while, but in the infertile economic landscape of the past few years, had finally withered away to as little as two pennies. Then today, like a Phoenix rising, it came swooshing up out of the ashes. "C'est la vie, say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell"(Chuck Berry)

There were some odd trades listed after hours at $4.60 and 4.20 on the NYE and NDD. Anyone know if these are open market trades or some type of after hours balancing issue?
Alamos should probably check their free cash balance today. The original offer for AZK may require a little bumping.

OFF TOPIC?
This seems stunning to me. Am I overreacting, or is this actually going to make an already nervous world of conservative investors step up the accumulation of physical gold?

Aurizon considering the unsolicited offer from Alamos - advises shareholders to take no action at this time.
http://seekingalpha.com/news-article/5296101-aurizon-responds-to-unsolicited-offer
Aurizon's response to the proposal will be interesting. It would be nice for the price of gold to spike up sharply this week! All eyes on Ben Bernanke!
Alamos (C$15.36, down 9.2%) said it plans a hostile, C$780 million cash-and-stock offer for rival miner Aurizon (C$4.59, up 35%). National Bank called the deal reasonable and said there aren't many white knights in the wings.
