Don't give me credit, Roadog caught it first...I just posted the link.
I'm thinking it was delayed as well b/c Laura is qouted, and it looks like Imagine issued the PR, not us.
this is also interesting (Pro)...
Today Imagine Worldwide limited, the leading global technology sales representation company, announced the first of several upcoming global sales deals with NeoMedia Technologies, Inc.
this is discouraging (Con)...

Imagine and NeoMedia Announce Partnership to Drive Innovative Mobile Barcode Campaigns

Did we miss this or was it just put up??
NIce catch road
Also, lets keep an eye out for this...
Imagine will be announcing further partnerships in the coming weeks.
Pop: I wasn't pointing out possible employment with NCR, I was simply stating that their observation of a possible interest from NCR at one point was interesting, and had Neom been in Mobiqa's shoes the acquisition would have been a plausible 'transaction'.
I don't know Pop, I bet you YA has a list locked in a safe somewhere just for this instance.
I'm sure they are already tickling the interest of somebody.
Edit: side note: isn't it interesting that the resignation was effective 10/8 (a Friday), and on the following Monday the huge sell-offs began to bring us back down to these PPS levels....but the resigntation letter was dated to be delivered 10/19??
When did Dean Wood officially leave?

Mobile barcodes: Mobiqa sells up and NeoMedia CEO steps down – is there a link?
http://www.gomonews.com/mobile-barcodes-mobiqa-sells-up-and-neomedia-ceo-steps-down-is-there-a-link/
Rating: there are some interesting co-incidences here
The news that Iain McCready is stepping down from the top spot in NeoMedia earlier this week (our report) coincided with another big announcement: mobile barcoder Mobiqa has been acquired by NCR (our report). What made us sit up and pay attention was that before he was CEO of NeoMedia, Iain McCready was CEO of Mobiqa.
The reason this perked our interest is that NeoMedia has flown through a series of CEOs in the last few years. Iain McCready was there for two years, which is something of a record. Then the day after his old company gets acquired; he leaves NeoMedia.
There are a lot of reasons this could have happened. Maybe he’s going back to Mobiqa, to shepherd his old company into it’s new life as an NCR subsidiary. Or maybe he had Mobiqa shares that he cashed in with NCR, and is now retiring to the Virgin Islands to sit on the beach and sip Margaritas. It’s also possible that NeoMedia was one of the other mobile barcode companies that NCR looked at buying, and the deal failed – Iain may have felt uncomfortable staying with the company if that happened. (codes insert: interesting perspective!, that would be a 'transaction' to sustain operations and pay down debt)
This is, of course, all speculation. We’ve been trying to reach Iain for comment on this since yesterday – unfortunately, there has been no reply.

Let's hope, remember Ian liked signing deals which provided little revenue. Interesting how they release that the day after Ian steps down...wonder if we'll be getting more like this to take focus off his departure.

Regardless of what happened to cause this, I think one thing Laura can do to get shareholder support is provide an earnings release and expected revenue conference call, something Ian couldn't provide.
A quote from Laura Marriott: “Neomedia is a public company, so I’ll take on the fiduciary responsibilities that come with being a board member, from strategic oversight and guidance to holding the management team accountable to shareholders and helping to raise the value of the company as a key member of the leadership team.”
Even though she's 'acting CEO', her fiduciary responsibilities just increased significantly...she calls the shots as to what's released now.
Interesting observation Krays,
a legal question (far feached): if a merger between Scanbuy (a private co) and Neom (a public co) is in the works, would there have to be disclosures to shareholders of Neom since its public, or is nothing required since it involves a private company?
Neom website updated, we have alot of 'acting' positions on there...
http://neom.com/company/executive_team
How valuable is it to Neustar that Neom select the right CEO to replace Ian? Reason being (long shot)- i wonder, since Neustar has a new CEO with mobile growth ambitions and Laura is a mobile marketer probably much more connected with US firms than Ian ever was,...can the Neustar clearinghouse function without Neom?
That would be great, but if that's the case he wouldn't have been forced out so abruptly...mergers usually hang onto the exec staff until it's offically completed.
then we should get an 8-k if that is officially the case, shouldn't we?
hahaahaha, I sure hope that's not the case...NCR is doomed, but then again they can get month to month financing if ever needed!!
I wonder what direction we're heading in....Ian was gung ho about mobile ticketing....Laura is gung ho about marketing. Wonder if the board is realizing Ian's history doesn't match with where the US is going with QR codes.
Edit: So, we are in the market for a Marketing Director and CEO now, correct?
Agreed, it's very interesting. His alma marter gets bought out and he steps down from Neom the same day???
the way I see it: if a CEO is appointed which has a track record with YA...then we're screwed all over again. If by some miracle we get a non-tainted CEO, then we may get out of this.
I think this is a chance for Neom to regain the trust of the shareholders....and start off with a earnings call. Come on Laura, speak to us!! Don't follow suit of IM!!
This is good and bad...good because we might actually get someone that can increase shareholder value, bad because until that happens this stock is going to keep taking a beating (IMO)
It's just funny reading back through that interview...Ian stating how confident he is in securing new capital investments and how he's focused on turning the company around.
Bena: Iain you do sound very confident and convincing. But what about the shareholders that lost a fortune on NeoMedia?
Iain: I feel very grateful to everyone that has supported NeoMedia and will make sure that the company succeeds moving forward. I understand the frustration of the shareholders and I know what that feels like.
But then he paused and he said,
Bena, (best quote of the day)
I can’t manage the past – but I can make the future.[/i]
So far it seems as if history is repeating itself. But in all fairness, I suppose he did satisfy the majority of the shareholders with that reverse split.

Big in Japan's "Scan with ShopSavvy" Program Raises QR Code Awareness with Help from Ford, Gold's Gym and Other Brands
http://www.prweb.com/releases/2010/10/prweb4662144.htm
More brands are seeing the value in QR Codes for educating and marketing to consumers, says Alexander Muse, Big in Japan co-founder.
ShareThis Email PDF Print Major consumer brands are using Big in Japan's "Scan with ShopSavvy" program to increase awareness and trial of QR Codes in their marketing and promotional efforts.
Brands like Heineken, Jones New York, and Verizon are also using QR Codes effectively. The recent Warner Brothers film ‘Inception’ was also promoted with QR Codes, and more than 50,000 ShopSavvy users participated in that promotion. Dallas, TX (Vocus) October 19, 2010
Big in Japan, the leader in barcode-powered shopping by mobile consumers, announced that a variety of diverse brands -- including Ford, Gold’s Gym and the Washington Metro -- are using the “Scan with ShopSavvy” program to increase awareness and trial of QR Codes to better inform consumers about their products and services.
“Compared to UPC and EAN barcodes, QR Codes can provide consumers with far more product information – offering significant opportunities for marketers as an increasing number of consumers shop with scanners in hand,” said Alexander Muse, co-founder of Big in Japan. “The stumbling block has been a lack of awareness of QR Codes; most consumers aren’t sure what to do when they see one.”
Through the “Scan with ShopSavvy” program, brands overlay a badge on their QR Codes to alert ShopSavvy’s installed base of more than 6.5 million users that they will find helpful product information by scanning the code.
Gold’s Gym, for example, is currently using the “Scan with ShopSavvy” program in signage, product inserts and other materials associated with its fitness equipment, which is available at Walmart. By scanning a QR code, users can view product demos of treadmills, elliptical trainers and more on their smartphones.
Beyond the specific successes of the “Scan with ShopSavvy” program, Muse said he is seeing a greater interest in QR Codes by both brands and ShopSavvy users.
“Every day, ShopSavvy users are scanning QR Codes at Best Buy, Gap, Dick’s Sporting Goods and other retailers,” Muse said. “Brands like Heineken, Jones New York, and Verizon are also using QR Codes effectively. The recent Warner Brothers film ‘Inception’ was also promoted with QR Codes, and more than 50,000 ShopSavvy users participated in that promotion.”
“Scan with ShopSavvy” is only one of the ways Big in Japan has demonstrated its commitment to QR Codes. Last month, the company released a free, single-purpose QR Code Reader and Scanner for iPhone. It is already one of the 50 most-downloaded utilities in Apple’s iTunes Store.

Self-service travel: NCR buys into mobile barcodes with Mobiqa
http://www.gomonews.com/self-service-travel-ncr-buys-into-mobile-barcodes-with-mobiqa/
If you’ve ever spent any time in a shop, you’ve probably seen the NCR logo there. It creates hardware including ATMs, self-service check-outs, barcode scanners, cash registers and other Point of Sale hardware for retailers – as well as software and technology for finance, travel, entertainment and other industries. Today it has announced that it has acquired Scottish mobile barcode and ticketing company Mobiqa.
What’s the story?
NCR is a big company. It was originally a manufacturer of cash registers, 125 years ago – NCR stands for National Cash Register company. It’s now a business technology company with a presence in a vast number of industries. A major segment that NCR serves is self-service – ATMs, self-service checkouts and kiosks are a big seller for the company. With the acquisition of Mobiqa, NCR is trying to tie together self-service with mobile barcodes and travel.
Who are Mobiqa?
Mobiqa is a mobile optimization company based in Scotland. It’s main feature is that it allows you to send mobile content to any phone – it will make sure that the content is best adapted to suit whatever handset it is being sent to. What it does with that feature is barcode ticketing and coupons. Instead of printing a paper ticket with a barcode on it, Mobiqa allows a company to send a barcode to their phone. The client company just has to scan that unique barcode to register the ticket.
What will they be doing together?
NCR wants to use mobile self-service to make traveling easier. Through Mobiqa, NCR will allow any travel company to send their tickets to the customers phone. When boarding their bus/plane/train the customer just needs to scan the barcode that is on their phone at a self-service kiosk. It eliminates the cost of paper ticketing makes life easier for ticket checkers.
What we think?
There’s nothing new in this release – all the ideas in it are things that have been around for years now. But NCR is a big company, and Mobiqa has a lot of experience in this field. I’m hoping that they’ll be a very effective team in this area together.
_______
Bena: Iain. Why did you take the position as CEO of NeoMedia?
Iain: I had decided to leave Mobiqa. I had been there for three years and had built the company from a start-up to a huge success with several high value high brand customers. I had already officially left Mobiqa and via Yorkville Advisors; I started as a consultant for NeoMedia.

http://mobilenextbigthing.biz/2010/10/19/interview-with-susan-reda-executive-editor-of-stores-magazine/
Pop, thanks for the explanation, I think I understand.
So then, to play ball with the Neustar clearinghouse, you will need one of these campaign managers: Neom, 3GVision, Mobile Discovery or Mobile Data Systems (as listed here, page 14: http://www.gomocode.com/about-barcodes/generic-barcode-presentation); or is this the correct campaign manager listing: http://www.gomocode.com/about-pilot ....either way, is the use of one of these partnered campaign managers a requirement to use the clearinghouse?
BC, I understand they were a pilot partner and they are a current licensee...I'm trying to figure out why if those relationships exist...are they utilizing the clearinghouse services of AT&T...which seems to be the same thing as Neustar's, right?
Pop, I thought that was correct that Mobile Tag is no longer piloting with Neustar like they did at CTIA.
So then if I understand correctly, one of our licensees (Mobile Tag) is using the clearing house services of a non-licensee (AT&T) to achieve the exact same thing as Neustar, neom, et al.?
So is it likely that AT&T is indirectly using Neomedia's indirect technology then through an already licensee? Pop, were you able to address this question as to why the AT&T codes could not be resolved by any reader? [last paragraph](http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=55058818)

AT&T will use technology from Mobile Tag Inc., a provider of universal bar code reader technology.

Wonder if they can provide expected revenue for mobile this time...since our Neom cannot provide it.
I believe everyone's issue is the fact that IM said he's known for getting new financing and that's what his commitment is, and that he said the company would payoff debt and sustain operations for 12 months.
The vendetta is the lack of communication as to what the status is on these 2 things, I believe many agree nice deals have been made...it's the lack of fruitation from these deals and the no communication which is pissing people off and causing the pps to drop.
such BS
Just curious, has anyone been able to determine which train operator is already using this? I've looked up and down, even looked at near all passenger train operators websites in Italy for stuff along the lines of 'this code on your ticket validates authenticity' or any mention explaining how to read/use your ticket with the funny looking barcode on it.
I've found nothing. Anyone know anything about it?
