One thing that I can't help but imagine is all the folks working at NEOM in some way or fashion, running around zipping up all the open "deals" they've laid groundwork on previously in anticipation of a positive outcome to this Virgin case.
Must be an exilerating frenzied atmosphere during this time being an "associate" or close business partner w/ NEOM, that's for sure!
You never know, we may see back on these last two 8K filings as the weight that tipped the scales in favor of NEOM (oustide of a positive outcome w/ Virgin, of course).
DAMMMMNNNNN! EOM
joe: Limited revenue? Did you look at their repayment plan?
Cloud, I was just thinking that. That's a hefty repayment plan. By that rate they'll have it all paid back in a year! Either they're digging they're own grave or putting a down payment on their high end trampoline!
Here's one other thing that I'm thinking about this latest deal w/ Cornell...
I would imagine that they only offer this kind of deal w/ parties that were HIGH on their "rating" list.
Just like FBC...they ain't dummies and they definitely do their own DD! :)
lns
cloud8: This could suggest something like that but I wouldn't be so quick to jump. I think, because the terms are so favorable to NEOM..."The commitment would be available up to 2 years, renewable thereafter. The program is entirely controlled by the Issuer."...that I look at this just what Cornell calls it, a "Saftey Net".
This could go on and on and on...cash on the side w/ favorable terms whenever they need it, if they need it. This in no way is saying that we'll be seeing immediate issuances. Not saying we won't see some...time will tell.
I thought it looked on the surface as a pretty good deal. Hopefully the last one to get us "over the hump"!?
worthog: My guess is becuase FCB doesn't consider them a "client" so to speak, but rather a "partner" to work WITH their (FCB's) clients. The advertise and "public relate" for companies, and NeoMedia can help tremendously in that area. It's a two-way street with this relationship, not a one-way relationship as with their traditional "clients".
From their 8K release...
"The agreement calls for FCB to work with NeoMedia to create and develop opportunities and programs utilizing PaperClick(R), to integrate PaperClick into marketing campaigns for new and existing clients, and to facilitate the introduction of NeoMedia and PaperClick in the mobile telecommunications industry."
saskwatch: No, I'm not sure, that's why I stated (I hope for sure). Could be. They've been working on this for over a year now. Things are moving on other fronts.
But, knowing our court system, I wouldn't be surprised either way...final outcome or continuance.
You know, one thing that really strikes me is who actually put out this news release and who's name is first in line for contact info.
Some may say "par for the course", but I've seen plenty of NR's of the sort, but usually issued by the speculative company, not the heavyweight. Not the case this time.
Things is lookin' good. ;)

Harry: IMO, the reason why the don't comment may be that unless the number is WAY up there, it may give a negative connotation to their activities. Remember, this is just the beginning so the actual #'s aren't important just yet. What is important is the swelling momentum and connections.
NEOM's got both.
What do you guess? Think there's been no follow up becsuse of just that...nothing to follow up?
My guess is yes after the judge rules on April 15th in the Virgin case, we'll know if they busted the patent or not.
Funny they didn't mention Virgin in their list of companies threatened. They're only concerned about the small fish obviously (as they mention).
Small fish/big fish...doesn't matter. We'll find out April 15th (I hope, for sure) if they can continue to swim "under" the bridge or if they'll have to pay "cross" the bridge.
I would guess if on April 15th the ruling is in favor of NEOM and a settlement is announced, since the three "small fish" are accused of violating the same patents, they would fall in line shortly after.
Any thoughts?
movieguy: That's just what I was thinking today, thinking back to the "look under the bottle cap and go to our website to see..." type of thing. Scrap that, just "point and click".
HELOC's are great! :) EOM
wando: are you meaning, using your example from your experience as reference only, that a "20 to 1 dividend spinout of NMPR into the old BSDS shell" would mean (and I know this is hypothetical):
- that we NEOM shareholders would be issued 20 shares of "NMPR" for each share we hold of NEOM...or, the other way around
- that we NEOM shareholders would be issued 1 share of "NMPR" for each share we hold of NEOM
Just curious. I've never been involved in that sort of stock dividend spin-off type deal.
Thanx,
lns
I see in the latest NR that the "about NeoMedia" jargon at the bottom it mentions nothing about their MicroPaint division.
I know that doesn't have anything to do w/ PaperClick, nontheless, the fact that they are a part of the company and they didn't mention them at all tells me that possibly they might spin them off sooner than later.
Any thoughts?
The IRS is one of FCB's clients. eom
Holy cow...THE IRS?!! :) EOM
Other than paying off my HELOC, no, but I sure wish I had some more equity to put in the market. I think my first and only place to shop would be NEOM.
Glad to be here and Very Thankful too.
Maybe, the "affiliate" is yet to be named...literally.
How about the name, "Mobile Solutions, Inc." to be IPO'd in the sept/oct time frame starting at $10/share on the NAZ w/ 150MM outstanding shares to start.
Three to five years later they "acquire" the "PaperClick Registry" for 26B w/ SAIC and NEOM splitting the proceeds.
I love dreaming sometimes, especially when the dreams aren't too far fetched.
Happy Easter, everybody!
:)
Glad to help...I'm curious who the mysterious "affiliate" of Providence/Warburg is?
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) today announced the completion of the sale of its subsidiary Telcordia Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of telecommunications software and services, to an affiliate of Providence Equity Partners (Providence) and Warburg Pincus (Warburg) for approximately $1.35 billion in cash subject to certain adjustments.
http://www.saic.com/news/2005/mar/15.html
spanky: Can I try to help here?
"Today, Telcordia carries 80 percent of the nation's telephony traffic and all of its toll-free traffic."
http://www.willkie.com/firm/news_detail.aspx?id=325901405
hmmm, if, as someone speculated previously, Telcordia would sometime down the road be spun off into a public company, could we see them as being the first in line down the road to "buy back" the PaperClick registry from SAIC/NeoMedia?
They've been down this road before.

Hi Jim: With all do respect...we here can merely speculate with only a modicum of understanding, insight and time to fully digest the impact of any news we have or will be spoonfed, as compared to those that produced said news.
Given that and the enourmous depth of resources that FCB has to find, uncover, prove or disprove, one way or another, the fact and/or myths about a company, before engaging into a joint venture with said comany, don't you think THEY do their homework before agreeing to enter into a binding contract with that company?
And, due to the findings from their own instense, scrutinous DD, that MAYBE, just MAYBE we shareholders should be able to, with some level of certainty, believe that an all encompasing statement such as follows, presented with their approval, could be taken with any degree of certainty as to the outcome of their findings, and subsiquently, in this case, i.e. the outcome of the Virgin infringement case with NeoMedia?...
"Partner acknowledges and agrees that NeoMedia owns all right, title, and interest in the Product, and in all of NeoMedia's patents, trademarks, trade names, inventions, copyrights, know-how, and trade secrets relating to the design, manufacture, operation or service of the Product."

I would have to guess that they kept it until after the market closed so that folks could have a nice long holiday weekend to round up funds from their easter eggs and let the fun begin, again, on Monday.
What a nice way to start a holiday weekend and to start the week of next week.
Thank You LORD for leading me to this stock!
It really is going to be a "Good Friday". Nice and relaxed!
(even if I do have to work!) :(
"March winds gonna blow all my troubles away."
I think that latest filing shows that management definitely knows what they're doing regarding marketing.
We can all now rest easy tonight, and tomorrow night, and the next night, and....
Not that I wasn't before, but after yesterday's fiasco...
You, me and countless others. eom
I think a LOT of folks had a bid at .235 eom
spanky04: I agree. But, most important...do you think this is an accident????
THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM! (if you ask me)
Lovin' IT!
Sure, I may be overzelous at times but this just SCREAMS intense movement forward to come!
Look, was Semacode, Symbol, Intermec and the like "invited" to have their booth set up RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR of the "Wireless Home" at CTIA???
NO. Wonder why????
I have my guesses....
Personally, I think it was all necessary and the timing couldn't be more perfect. My favorite "technical" indicator is the MACD. And, we all know (from experience) what happens when the MACD line passes the ZERO mark heading NORTH!
In most cases, even a lame duck stock will jump 15-20%. In a MEGA mover/shaker stock like this????? Just look at the last time it crossed the ZERO line!
Lookin' for POSITIVES ahead!!!!
:)
Tequila? How 'bout some "Don Julio"...
Tastes great alone or especially in a margarita. You know it's good when there's not one word in english on the label! :)
Slurp, slurp!
Have fun in Mehhhhhikkko!
IMO, if this were a panic sell due to a news leak of ill report for NEOM, we'd be at much higher volume and much lower price. But, instead of the price continuing to drop, it's actually going uphill a bit.
I'll rest w/ the thought that sell stops were hit...shaking the loose hands out.
I ain't going anywhere. Heck, I just got here! (and liking what I'm seeing) :)
I too want to throw out a Thank You for all the info that's been provided. I never knew about I-Hub or NEOM until a month ago but am very pleased to have stumbled upon them. The insight to this company and the fine investors who set up this board has been very refreshing and appreciated.
lns
If I may...a barcode should very well be able to do that, but it would be limited to the time of printing, just like Semacode.
If I understand correctly, the beauty w/ Neomedia is that the internet address where the barcode would take one is changeable on the fly...here today, there tomorrow.
It's able to be like that because of the "2 step/jump" process of first going to a "PaperClick" server then to the web. The web location is untouched, but the "PaperClick" correlation to that web location could be everchanging.
Anybody, please correct me if I'm mistaken.
Just a filler on me...I'm new to this board and this stock for that matter. But, I look at NEOM as possibly a gift from above to allow me (and my family for that matter) to regain lost wagers on another OTCBB stock from the heyday...another great idea (patented) that hasn't flown yet (LMGR.PK). So, even though I haven't been here for that long, I do feel all of the NEOM LONGS pain and I'm just as hopeful as everyone else here regarding the possible success of this company.
Funny too...You all are talking about Vegas, we were (and still do from time to time) talking about Maui on the LMGR board if it hit $2. I don't think that'll ever happen, but $1 here...yes, I do believe it's possible and then some!
lns
We call it "skurfing" back home. eom
Server space...They sure will need PLENTY of servers. I thought of that as well, but not nearly as indepth as you.
Maybe they might want to think about putting a server farm someplace where the land and building space is much cheaper. We got plenty of cheap land and building space here in the Wichita, KS area!
:)
