Len....I'm hearing more and more people are AGREEING with me that the "emergency responce" in New Orleans was mysteriously and suspiciously extremely slow(several days)!!!
I BELIEVE that the situation in New Orleans was "ALLOWED" to fester and grow into CHAOS.
When CHAOS naturally erupted...the governmental responce became "Totalitarian" like..."shoot to kill" etc!!etc!!
Whatever happenned to the rescuing of people that should have happened immediately after the hurrican passed???....not 3 or 4 days later!!
Something's ROTTEN here....and I'm not alone in this opinion.
Rogue
Len...I present you wih a history lesson on "Skull and Bones" and your responce is "I'm out of my mind".
It sounds to me like you're the "Average American living in denial".
So anyway statistician....
What ARE the odds that our 2 choices for President last election(Kerry and Bush).... happen to both belong to a fascinatingly powerful and"connected" secret society from Yale called "Skull and Bones" that is a "death cult" and has a room at The Tomb in Yale adorned with Nazi paraphanalia?????????
(the above statement alone should prompt the CURIOUSITY of any SANE American!!!!)
It's just a mere COINCIDENCE I'm sure! LOL!!
And if you BELIEVE that....you are seriously in DENIAL and have NO CLUE that there is a "hidden agenda" going on here.

Seriously Len.....I don't know if you have ever spent any time looking into the 9/11 tragedy. I URGE you to do so. Have you EVER heard of the Patriot Acts?? Tell me how any of that INCREASES freedom or liberty????
There is an entire section on 9/11 on this site(amongst other things)......

I'm convinced there is an "agenda" going on here. There was a "determined agenda" also going on in Germany during the rise of Adolph Hitler. Lot's of propaganda and "financial collapse" really brainwashed the German people.
Again....look into the "Hegelian Dialectic" and tell me that isn't a "blueprint" for what's going on here in this country today???
You're a statistician......
What are the "chances" or "odds" that the Left (Kerry) and the Right(Bush)in the last Presidential Election are both from a secret society at Yale called "Skull and Bones" that has a room adorned with Nazi paraphanalia?????
That's just a "coincidence" I'm sure!!!!!!
Please Len.... don't be naive! Enjoy life.....but please don't be in "denial"!!

Castro offers US medical help
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,16477519%255E1702,00.html
From correspondents in Havana
September 03, 2005
CUBAN President Fidel Castro has offered to help the United States, by sending 1,100 doctors and medicine to treat the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Some 100 doctors could board a flight to Houston, Texas, as soon as today and 1,000 could arrive tomorrow and the day after, Castro said in a radio and television address. Cuba would also send 26.4 tonnes of medicines.
"Cuba is ready to help immediately," he said. "We offer concrete things, doctors to the site of the tragedy, which is exactly what is missing now."
Castro said a diplomatic note containing the offer was sent today to the US Interests Section, the American mission in Havana, and was the second such offer of its kind made this week.
He said the first offer to send Cuban doctors to aid in hurricane relief efforts was made during a meeting with Cuban foreign ministry and US officials in Havana on Tuesday, days before the extent of the hurricane's catastrophic damage was known.
At the time, American officials had asked Cuban authorities not to publicise their offer of aid, said Castro, who indicated Havana was still awaiting a response from Washington.
"(American) authorities are going through a difficult time, we are not asking for anything," said Castro, whose country has not had diplomatic relations with the United States in more than four decades. "We're not criticising anyone."
The United States has enforced an economic embargo against its communist nemesis Cuba for four decades.
In July, Cuba declined Washington's offer of humanitarian assistance in the wake of Hurricane Dennis, which killed at least 11 people in the communist-ruled island.

New Orleans Like 'the Third World'
Friday, September 02, 2005
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,168351,00.html
"And lead us not into temptation," she bellows hoarsely to the unhearing throng, "but deliver us from evil ..."
But temptation is everywhere in this crippled city. And so, it seems, is evil.
Five days after Hurricane Katrina (search) came and went, necessity has forced police officers to become looters; gangs hijack the boats of volunteers who have come to rescue them. Naked babies wail for food as men get drunk on stolen liquor.
A walk through New Orleans (search) is a walk through hell — punctuated, it must be said, by moments of grace.
Along the debris-choked Mississippi River, pharmacist Jason Dove watches as people scramble in the parking lot of the downtown convention center for cases of airlifted water and shakes his head. "We created this Frankenstein," he says. "It's showing how fragile this society is."
In the world-renowned French Quarter (search), armed residents hide behind ornate iron gates like prisoners in a frilly jail. Historic markers on Napoleonic-era houses share billing with signs that warn: "You loot, we shoot!"
When water began rising in predominantly black neighborhoods, many jumped to the conclusion that the levee had been purposely breached to preserve the old city and its hotels.
"F... the Quarter!" a black man shouts as he walks beneath a balcony where a resident lounges with a cold beer as generator roars away in the otherwise deathly night silence. "They always protect the Quarter."
Katrina's winds have left behind an information vacuum. And that vacuum has been filled by rumor. There is nothing to correct wild reports that armed gangs have taken over the convention center. That two babies had their throats slit in the night. That a 7-year-old girl was raped and killed at the Superdome.
One officer calls these human cattle yards "lawless countries unto themselves."
After several days in the street with little water and less food, people around the convention center began imagining that the storm was somehow a vehicle for ethnic cleansing. One black man insists that authorities want everyone corralled into the convention center — not to facilitate an orderly evacuation, but so police can ignite the gas and blow them up.
"They want us all crazy so they can shoot us down like dogs!" a woman shouts.
Police point their guns at the crowds and tell them to back off. The people take it as aggression. But when you look into these officers' eyes, there is real fear.
Officer Kirk LeBranche cowered on the roof of his flooded hotel in New Orleans East for three days as the nighttime hours became a shooting gallery.
"Anarchy and chaos," he says. "People are desperate."
Officers deserted their posts. Many of them lost everything but their lives to the storm, and they refuse to gamble those on a seemingly lost city.
Katrina has not just robbed people of their homes. It has taken their dignity.
On a sidewalk crowded with children and the elderly, a woman pulls down her pants and squats behind a potted plant. A passing man averts his eyes.
"Thank you," she says. "I'm just doing what I've got to do."
At the convention center, where thousands have camped in the streets since Monday awaiting buses out of the city, the despair feeds on itself like a voracious beast.
When National Guard helicopters attempt to land supplies in the parking lot, waiter Bob Vineyard joins a self-appointed ground crew attempting to set up a safe perimeter. The crowd surges past them with an almost feral intensity, and the chopper crew is forced to take off.
The soldiers drop cases of water and self-heating meals from 10 feet in the air. Many of the bottles burst on impact, the precious water left to evaporate in the hot sun.
"We would have had a whole helicopter full of food if you had stayed back!" Vineyard shouts at the crowd, with disgust. "Hey, y'all. I did my best."
Carl Davis wonders why someone can't just truck the food in and hand it out in an orderly fashion. Rather than taking comfort in the food drops, he finds the process insulting, demeaning.
"They're giving it to us like we're in the Third World," he spits. "This should never have happened. It didn't happen in Iraq, and it didn't happen in the tsunami."
Down the street, anxious tourists idle on a bandstand across from Harrah's casino, which has become a National Guard and police staging area. Jill Johnson of Seskatchewan says police don't want them there, but she and others worry they would be easy prey at the convention center.
"We're appalled," says Johnson, who tried to buy a car to get out of town. "This city is built on tourists, and we're their last priority."
Nearby, Cassandra Robinson huddles in the loading area of a local store where a small community has formed. Her niece, Heavenly, who turned 1 year old the day before the storm, dozes in Robinson's arms, weakened by a diet of water and mashed-up potato chips.
Robinson says people are behaving like animals because they are being treated as animals.
"We're not born thieves," she says, as neighbors heat food over a trash-can fire. "We were born Christians."
Thursday night, a prayer session begins at one end of Convention Center Boulevard and spreads to the other. Please, they implore, let there be no more rioting.
The next morning, someone — Robinson does not know who — appears with fresh, cold milk. And instead of fighting over it, able-bodied adults step back and allow the children and the elderly to be nourished first.
Across the city, people have banded together, creating pockets of civility amid the chaos.
The management of the French Quarter's Hotel Le Richelieu fled two days after the storm. Those left behind — cooks, maids and security officers — organized to ration supplies, establish foraging teams and set up a schedule for guard duty.
Days after the storm, the kitchen somehow manages to keep serving hot food. Guests have taken to calling the place the Hotel Rwanda.
"It's a jungle and it's dog-eat-dog," hotel security guard Glenn King says as he rests his hand on the butt of a revolver at his side. "When you see the police doing the same thing the looters are doing, it tells me you're going to have to fend for yourself."
Some find ways to flee. New Orleans resident Robert Jordan and eight family members are on their way to Birmingham, Ala., but he delays his departure more than two hours to help plug a fellow refugee's punctured tires. He uses goods he "borrowed" from a nearby auto parts store.
"Bye-bye, French Quarter!" he shouts as his three-vehicle caravan leaves the protective walls of the Richelieu parking lot. "Be safe."
But Jordan's sentiments seem wishful thinking.
Before dawn Friday, the French Quarter is rocked by explosions. A few miles down river, railroad tanker cars erupt in a tornado of flame, showering a flooded neighborhood with soot and casting a pall of black over the city — as if New Orleans isn't already under one.
A police officer says snipers fired on workers sent in to fight the fire. They stood down and watched it burn.
Randall Davis walks from his home in the French Quarter and sits on a bench, staring at the inferno through reddened eyes, his head swimming with apocalyptic thoughts.
"It's becoming less numbing each day," he says, as the fire rages. "It's unfortunate that I'm getting used to anarchy and chaos when this was once a vital, vibrant community of people who looked out for one another. And it's degraded to this."
Davis laughed when he heard a congressman suggest that the city should be abandoned to the swamp waters from which it was born. But he isn't smiling as he stares into the smoke-shrouded sunrise.
"If this is what it's like when we even have a semblance of society," he says with a sigh, "maybe we shouldn't build it back."

It just struck me...it NOW seems so obvious!!!!!
We have seen absolutely shameful "neglect" of the NO disaster by the government agencies responsible for these sorts of things(FEMA...Department of Homeland Security) for the first 3 or 4 days.
"THEY" allowed the disaster to fester into CHAOS....almost as if by DESIGN by their initial incomprehensible neglect of the situation. How can you herd tens of thousands of people into areas and not have food or water to feed them??? Remember the old saying ...."Order From Chaos".(Google it if you don't)
Now we have a "heavy handed" situation where the government has to "play the Leviathon" to take control of the desperate chaos that "was allowed" to fester.
Now the rising "Police State" can look like the good guys "restoring Order" that SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO REGRESS INTO CHAOS IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I'm very sceptical of the initial government emergency responce(or lack of it!)....I believe it's part of a plan to legitamise the Police State that the Fascist elite want to shove down our throats as the "New World Order"!!!

Katrina Devastated Area Infrastructure By LESLIE MILLER, Associated Press Writer
7 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - No one knows how much it will cost to rebuild the streets, the highways and the bridges devastated by Hurricane Katrina. One thing for sure, however: It will cost more than any other post-disaster reconstruction effort in U.S. history.
Estimating the amount to rebuild isn't on anyone's radar screen yet, as most of New Orleans still is under water and transportation officials are concerned primarily about opening roads for emergency access.
"There's no one on earth who can give you an informed opinion," said Brian Taylor, professor of urban planning at UCLA. "They have to get flashlights to crawl around and look at the stuff."
Jeffrey Brown, assistant professor of urban planning at Florida State University, said the total cost will be staggering.
"There's just nothing that comes close to this," said Brown, who specializes in infrastructure financing. He said the price tag will be many billions of dollars.
Transportation systems in Mississippi and Louisiana sustained the worst damage. State and federal damage assessment teams are being trained and sent into the field.
A major New Orleans artery, Interstate Highway 10, can't be used because the ramps are under water. Giant sections of the 8-mile Twin Span bridge — about 40 percent of the structure that connects New Orleans with Slidell, La. — collapsed into Lake Pontchartrain.
U.S. Highway 90, a hundred-mile stretch of road that runs along the Gulf Coast between New Orleans and Pascagoula, Miss., was basically destroyed. The Bay St. Louis-Gulfport and Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridges are gone.
David Luberoff, a transportation expert at Harvard University, said as they embark on the enormous task, transportation officials will seek to identify and fix the most critical links first.
Already, Louisiana officials are preparing to award a contract to fix the Twin Span. Mississippi is trying to allow work to begin on replacing a 300-foot span of the Pascagoula Bridge. Alabama officials say they'll work as quickly as possible to replace five 50-foot concrete spans on the eastbound U.S. Highway 90 Causeway in Mobile.
Once the waters recede in New Orleans, transportation officials will have to assess whether a road is safe enough to drive on, said Tom Malloy, vice president of the Intermodal Association of North America in Calverton, Md., which represents truckers, shipping companies and railroads.
"There are some older buildings compromised, their foundations shot," Malloy said. "A couple major trucks rolling down the street can shake it loose."
Until then, said Malloy, damage to roads and bridges will force railroads and truckers to take circuitous routes around New Orleans, which will drive up the cost of commodities from Central and South America such as coffee and bananas.

New Orleans in Anarchy With Fights, Rapes By ALLEN G. BREED, Associated Press Writer
42 minutes ago
Rogue comment....this is really sad. What the hell is going on here??? Dropping all those people off at the SuperDome and then not having food or water for days??? What do they expect?
Something is seriously wrong!
I hope it's not an omen for our country as a whole.
NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans descended into anarchy Thursday, as corpses lay abandoned in street medians, fights and fires broke out and storm survivors battled for seats on the buses that would carry them away from the chaos. The tired and hungry seethed, saying they had been forsaken. "This is a desperate SOS," mayor Ray Nagin said.
"We are out here like pure animals," the Rev. Issac Clark said outside the New Orleans Convention Center, where he and other evacuees had been waiting for buses for days amid the filth and the dead.
Four days after Hurricane Katrina roared in with a devastating blow that inflicted potentially thousands of deaths, the frustration and anger mounted, despite the promise of 1,400 National Guardsmen a day to stop the looting, plans for a $10 billion recovery bill in Congress and a government relief effort President Bush called the biggest in U.S. history.
New Orleans' top emergency management official called that effort a "national disgrace" and questioned when reinforcements would actually reach the increasingly lawless city.
About 15,000 to 20,000 people who had taken shelter at New Orleans convention center to await buses grew increasingly hostile. Police Chief Eddie Compass said he sent in 88 officers to quell the situation at the building, but they were quickly driven back by an angry mob.
"We have individuals who are getting raped, we have individuals who are getting beaten," Compass said. "Tourists are walking in that direction and they are getting preyed upon."
A military helicopter tried to land at the convention center several times to drop off food and water. But the rushing crowd forced the choppers to back off. Troopers then tossed the supplies to the crowd from 10 feet off the ground and flew away.
In hopes of defusing the situation at the convention center, Nagin gave the refugees permission to march across a bridge to the city's unflooded west bank for whatever relief they could find. But the bedlam made that difficult.
"Right now we are out of resources at the convention center and don't anticipate enough buses," Nagin said in a statement.
At least seven bodies were scattered outside the convention center, a makeshift staging area for those rescued from rooftops, attics and highways. The sidewalks were packed with people without food, water or medical care, and with no sign of law enforcement.
An old man in a chaise lounge lay dead in a grassy median as hungry babies wailed around him. Around the corner, an elderly woman lay dead in her wheelchair, covered up by a blanket, and another body lay beside her wrapped in a sheet.
"I don't treat my dog like that," 47-year-old Daniel Edwards said as he pointed at the woman in the wheelchair.
"You can do everything for other countries, but you can't do nothing for your own people," he added. "You can go overseas with the military, but you can't get them down here."
The street outside the center, above the floodwaters, smelled of urine and feces, and was choked with dirty diapers, old bottles and garbage.
"They've been teasing us with buses for four days," Edwards said. "They're telling us they're going to come get us one day, and then they don't show up."
Every so often, an armored state police vehicle cruised in front of the convention center with four or five officers in riot gear with automatic weapons. But there was no sign of help from the National Guard.
At one point the crowd began to chant "We want help! We want help!" Later, a woman, screaming, went on the front steps of the convention center and led the crowd in reciting the 23rd Psalm, "The Lord is my shepherd ..."
"We've got people dying out here — two babies have died, a woman died, a man died," said Helen Cheek. "We haven't had no food, we haven't had no water, we haven't had nothing. They just brought us here and dropped us."
At the hot and stinking Superdome, where 30,000 were being evacuated by bus to the Houston Astrodome, fistfights and fires erupted amid a seething sea of tense, suffering people who waited in a lines that stretched a half-mile to board yellow school buses.
After a traffic jam kept buses from arriving for nearly four hours, a near-riot broke out in the scramble to get on the buses that finally did show up, with a group of refugees breaking through a line of heavily armed National Guardsmen.
One military policeman was shot in the leg as he and a man scuffled for the MP's rifle, police Capt. Ernie Demmo said. The man was arrested.
"These are good people. These are just scared people," Demmo said.
Some of those among the mostly poor crowd had been in the dome for four days without air conditioning, working toilets or a place to bathe. An ambulance service airlifting the sick and injured out of the Superdome suspended flights as too dangerous after it was reported that a bullet was fired at a military helicopter.
"If they're just taking us anywhere, just anywhere, I say praise God," said refugee John Phillip. "Nothing could be worse than what we've been through."
As he watched a line snaking for blocks through ankle-deep waters, New Orleans' emergency operations chief Terry Ebbert blamed the inadequate response on the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
"This is not a FEMA operation. I haven't seen a single FEMA guy," he said. He added: "We can send massive amounts of aid to tsunami victims, but we can't bail out the city of New Orleans."
FEMA officials said some operations had to be suspended in areas where gunfire has broken out.
A day after Nagin took 1,500 police officers off search-and-rescue duty to try to restore order in the streets, there were continued reports of looting, shootings, gunfire and carjackings — and not all the crimes were driven by greed.
When some hospitals try to airlift patients, Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Cheri Ben-Iesan said, "there are people just taking potshots at police and at helicopters, telling them, `You better come get my family.'"
Outside a looted Rite-Aid drugstore, some people were anxious to show they needed what they were taking. A gray-haired man who would not give his name pulled up his T-shirt to show a surgery scar and explained that he needs pads for incontinence.
"I'm a Christian. I feel bad going in there," he said.
Earl Baker carried toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant. "Look, I'm only getting necessities," he said. "All of this is personal hygiene. I ain't getting nothing to get drunk or high with."
While floodwaters in the city appeared to stabilize, efforts continued to plug three breaches that had opened up in the levee system that protects this below-sea-level city.
Helicopters dropped sandbags into the breach and pilings were being pounded into the mouth of the canal Thursday to close its connection to Lake Pontchartrain, state Transportation Secretary Johnny Bradberry said. He said contractors had completed building a rock road to let heavy equipment roll to the area by midnight.
The next step called for using about 250 concrete road barriers to seal the gap.
In Washington, the White House said Bush will tour the devastated Gulf Coast region on Friday and has asked his father, former President George H.W. Bush, and former President Clinton to lead a private fund-raising campaign for victims.
The president urged a crackdown on the lawlessness.
"I think there ought to be zero tolerance of people breaking the law during an emergency such as this — whether it be looting, or price gouging at the gasoline pump, or taking advantage of charitable giving or insurance fraud," Bush said. "And I've made that clear to our attorney general. The citizens ought to be working together."
Donald Dudley, a 55-year-old New Orleans seafood merchant, complained that when he and other hungry refugees broke into the kitchen of the convention center and tried to prepare food, the National Guard chased them away.
"They pulled guns and told us we had to leave that kitchen or they would blow our damn brains out," he said. "We don't want their help. Give us some vehicles and we'll get ourselves out of here!"

WHITE HOUSE'S BERNANKE: KATRINA IMPACT LIKELY TO BE MODEST
White House's Bernanke: Katrina impact to be modest By Rex Nutting
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The economic impact of Hurricane Katrina is likely to be modest as long as damage to the energy infrastructure is temporary, said top White House economic adviser Ben Bernanke in an interview with CNBC business network on Wednesday. "I expect it's going to be absorbed easily," Bernanke said of the temporary rise in energy prices. The White House is expected to announce later Wednesday the details of a release of crude oil from the government's strategic petroleum reserve to alleviate spot shortages.
Rogue comment.....This guy is living in too many of Greenspan's bubbles apparently. Maybe he can load up those "helicopters of his with $100 bills" and drop them all over the Gulf and everything will be fine.
This guy is an idiot.....will he replace "Bubbles Greenspan"??? GOD HELP US!!

Mayor: Katrina May Have Killed Thousands By BRETT MARTEL, Associated Press Writer
19 minutes ago
NEW ORLEANS - The mayor said Wednesday that Hurricane Katrina probably killed thousands of people in New Orleans.
"We know there is a significant number of dead bodies in the water," and others dead in attics, Mayor Ray Nagin said. Asked how many, he said: "Minimum, hundreds. Most likely, thousands."
The frightening prediction came as Army engineers struggled to plug New Orleans' breached levees with giant sandbags and concrete barriers, while authorities drew up plans to move some 25,000 storm refugees out of the city to Houston in a huge bus convoy and all but abandon flooded-out New Orleans.
Gov. Kathleen Blanco said the situation was desperate and there was no choice but to clear out.
"The logistical problems are impossible and we have to evacuate people in shelters," the governor said. "It's becoming untenable. There's no power. It's getting more difficult to get food and water supplies in, just basic essentials."
The Pentagon, meanwhile, began mounting one of the largest search-and-rescue operations in U.S. history, sending four Navy ships to the Gulf Coast with drinking water and other emergency supplies, along with the hospital ship USNS Comfort, search helicopters and elite SEAL water-rescue teams. American Red Cross workers from across the country converged on the devastated region in the agency's biggest-ever relief operation.
The death toll from Hurricane Katrina has reached at least 110 in Mississippi alone. But Louisiana has put aside the counting of the dead to concentrate on rescuing the living, many of whom were still trapped on rooftops and in attics.
A full day after the Big Easy thought it had escaped Katrina's full fury, two levees broke and spilled water into the streets Tuesday, swamping an estimated 80 percent of the bowl-shaped, below-sea-level city, inundating miles and miles of homes and rendering much of New Orleans uninhabitable for weeks or months.
"We are looking at 12 to 16 weeks before people can come in," Nagin said on ABC's "Good Morning America, "and the other issue that's concerning me is we have dead bodies in the water. At some point in time the dead bodies are going to start to create a serious disease issue."
With the streets awash and looters brazenly cleaning out stores, authorities planned to move at least 25,000 of New Orlean's storm refugees — most of them taking shelter in the dank and sweltering Superdome — to the Astrodome in Houston in a vast exodus by bus.
Around midday, officials with the state and the Army Corps of Engineers said the water levels between the city and Lake Pontchartrain had equalized, and water had stopped rising in New Orleans, and even appeared to be falling, at least in some places. But the danger was far from over.
The Army Corps of Engineers said it planned to use heavy-duty Chinook helicopters to drop 3,000-pound sandbags Wednesday into the 500-foot gap in the failed floodwall. But the agency said it was having trouble getting the sandbags and dozens of 15-foot highway barriers to the site because the city's waterways were blocked by loose barges, boats and large debris.
Officials said they were also looking at a more audacious plan: finding a barge to plug the 500-foot hole.
"The challenge is an engineering nightmare," the governor said on ABC's "Good Morning America."
As New Orleans descended deeper into chaos, hundreds of people wandered aimlessly up and down Interstate 10, pushing shopping carts, laundry racks, anything they could find to carry their belongings. Dozens of fishermen from up to 200 miles away floated in on caravans of boats to pull residents out of flooded neighborhoods.
On some of the few roads that were still passable, people waved at passing cars with empty water jugs, begging for relief. Hundreds of people appeared to have spent the night on a crippled highway.
In one east New orleans neighborhood, refugees were being loaded onto the backs of moving vans like cattle, and in one case emergency workers with a sledgehammer and an ax broke open the back of a mail truck and used it to ferry sick and elderly residents.
Police officers were asking residents to give up any guns they had before they boarded buses and trucks because police desperately needed the firepower: Some officers who had been stranded on the roof of a motel said they were being shot at overnight.

US Refinery Situation Shows No Improvement As Floodwaters Rise
By JESSICA RESNICK-AULT and ANDREW DOWELL
August 30, 2005 6:40 p.m.
Of DOW JONEWS NEWSWIRES
NEW YORK -- Rising waters in New Orleans are darkening the prospect for restarts for some of the eight refineries shut down ahead of Hurricane Katrina.
Two levee breaches are sending floodwaters pouring into the city, with one of the breaches worsening an already bad situation in St. Bernard Parish, home to the 183,000 barrel a day Chalmette refinery jointly owned by Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) and Petroleos de Venezuela (PVZ.YY) and Murphy Oil Corp.'s (MUR) 120,000 barrel a day Meraux refinery.
Both refineries are completely evacuated, and there's no information about their conditions, the companies said.
"We just do not know anything, and it will be this afternoon at the earliest," Murphy spokeswoman Mindy West said.
ExxonMobil has told employees to stay away from Chalmette.
"No one's on site," ExxonMobil spokeswoman Prem Nair said. "It's locked and closed."
The city was rapidly filling with water and could be without drinkable water or power for a long time, Gov. Kathleen Blanco said, The Associated Press reported. People remaining in the city will have to be evacuated, she said.
"The situation is untenable," Blanco said at a news conference.
Prices Soar
Unlike Monday, when reports of only minor damage from two refineries helped ease oil traders' concerns, there were no signs of progress toward further restarts by major refiners Tuesday, while a Memphis refinery cut back operations due to supply problems.
Eight refineries in the New Orleans area and Mississippi shut down ahead of the storm. Together, they account for nearly 2 million barrels a day of capacity, or 12% of the U.S. total. Refinery analysts worried further Katrina's high winds and heavy flooding could damage refineries or otherwise delay a restart.
The outages exacerbated concerns over fuel supply, sending prices up by once unimaginable leaps. September gasoline futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange shot up a stunning 41.44 cents Tuesday to $2.4745 a gallon, gains that followed a 23-cent surge Monday.
Prices in the country's spot markets, where physical gasoline is bought and sold, shot up even higher, illustrating the depth of supply concerns. On the U.S. Gulf Coast, gasoline that had to be scheduled Tuesday for shipment on the Colonial Pipeline traded at $1 over the Nymex price.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO), which had no major damage to its 260,000 b/d St. Charles refinery, will need two weeks to restart, Jonathan Stuart, vice president of refinery operations, said on CNBC.
"I think it's going to take, from where we are right now, two weeks, plus or minus," he said.
Motiva Enterprise's 235,000 b/d Convent, La., refinery also avoided the brunt of Hurricane Katrina and suffered no damage that should affect a restart, spokesman Gary Miller said Monday. There was no restart timetable, however. Motiva is a joint venture of Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSB.LN) and state-owned Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (SOI.YY).
Question Marks
The majority of plants remained a question mark. ConocoPhillips was conducting its first flyovers of its 255,000 barrel a day Alliance refinery Tuesday, and Chevron Corp. (CVX) was also going to fly over its 325,000 barrel a day refinery in Pascagoula, Miss., where there were reports of terrible flooding. Both refineries were evacuated.
Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) had sent an inspection team to check its 245,000 barrel a day Garyville refinery. The status of Motiva's 225,000 barrel a day Norco refinery couldn't be determined.
"The refineries that sustained no significant damage aren't coming back to normal for up to two weeks," one trader said. "What does that say about the refineries that were damaged?"
The refineries face hurdles before they are ready to resume production of gasoline, home heating oil and other key fuels. Power is a major one. Local utility Entergy Corp. (ETR) has trimmed the number of customers without power to just over a million, but has warned it could take weeks to a month for customers to regain service.
The utility essentially needs to rebuild its power delivery network from the ground up, spokesman Morgan Stewart said. The utility has counted 124 transmission lines and 150 transmission substations out of service. Extensive flooding in New Orleans will make it hard to even assess power system damage for days.
Crude supplies have also been cut by outages in the Gulf of Mexico, shutdowns of key pipelines and a halt to traffic on the lower Mississippi River.
Hurricane Katrina was a "cataclysmic" event for energy infrastructure, with no clear time-frame for assessing how to restore operations to normal, the spokesman for a leading Louisiana oil industry group said Tuesday.
"This is a cataclysmic event," said Jeff Copeskey, vice president of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association. "It's an unprecedented event, so I don't think anybody knows how it's going to go from here."
Supply Problems
ExxonMobil Corp.'s (XOM) mammoth Baton Rouge refinery, comparatively far from the storm, was in "cutback mode" due to constraints on crude oil supply, according to a person familiar with the plant's operations.
Pipeline damage and reduced tanker traffic have both significantly restricted the plant's crude supply in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The constraints are expected to last for a "couple" of weeks, the person said. The plant is the country's second-largest.
A tanker is currently moving toward the plant, but will only bring approximately one day's supply to alleviate the shortage, the source said.
The prospects are grimmer for Chalmette and Meraux. Both are located in St. Bernard, which suffered extremely serious flooding.
The day's one bright spot was that the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, a key facility that supplies imported crude to refineries on the Gulf Coast and up into the Midwest, found no catastrophic damage and expects to be able to restart operations as soon as it gets power.
But the LOOP, which handles about 10% of U.S. oil imports and is the Gulf Coast's only port able to offload crude from the biggest tankers, doesn't have power and doesn't know when it might be restored.
Shell's Capline crude oil pipeline remained shut Tuesday, with no damage assessment or restart estimate. The Capline system moves crude oil from the Gulf Coast into the Midwest. The shutdown led Premcor Inc. (PCO) to cut runs at its 190,000 barrel a day refinery.
Concerns over gasoline are particularly severe now, as weeks of strong demand have already eaten away a comfortable inventory surplus, leaving stocks 7% below last year's and well below average, according to the federal Energy Information Administration. This week's outages will only deepen that deficit.

"Hyperdimensional" Katrina ...?
OK, it's happening again.
Monday, August 29, 2005
http://www.enterprisemission.com/weblog/weblog.htm
Last year, a series of four extraordinary storms ravaged the State of Florida in rapid succession, causing both devestating human and economic impacts. Several aspects of these storms caught our attention -- ranging from the "impossible" tracks each storm followed into Florida (examples below)--
To the equally astonishing geometry visible in the centers of some storms ... the incredibly "structured eyes" themselves.
Readers interested in our full, multi-part analysis of what really may have occurred last year, can find it under "Hyperdimensional Hurricanes" on the Enterprise Mission Main page.
* * *
Now, we're facing another monster "superstorm" -- Hurricane Katrina -- which makes those that swept Florida last year pale by comparison. The primary reason, of course, is that the city directly in the path of the projected 28-foot storm surge (!) -- and hurricane force winds of at least 155 miles per hour -- this time ... is a City least able to protect itself: New Orleans.
Lying in a natural basin below sea level -- in some places as much as 10 feet -- and protected only by its artificial levee system, New Orleans is arguably the worst place for a hurricane to hit on the entire planet ... certainly on the Continent of North America. For, added to the expected Catagory 4 storm surge of almost 30 feet, one must add the number of feet New Orleans lies below sea level. The total could produce a flood as much as 50 feet deep -- literally drowning most of the City of New Orleans ....
But, beyond the potentially tragic loss of life and property in New orleans itself, this storm carries an even larger threat: as this storm crossed Florida a few days ago, brushing just south of Miami at a Catagory 1 before heading out into the Gulf of Mexico, some observers wondered aloud about the potential economic impact of the storm on the entire United States ...
With gasoline already approaching $3.00 per gallon in some parts of the Country, and most of the National refinary capacity strung out along the Gulf Coast, it doesn't take an expert to realize that a direct hit by a major hurricane on those fragile refinaries ... if not the destruction of even a few of the hundreds of oil rigs in the Gulf itself ... could shoot gas prices to unprecedented levels at the pump.
But, as serious as these prospects are, there could be even more severe consequences for a direct hit by a major hurricane on the facilities lying at the mouth of the Mississippi River: the literal closing of the waterway -- for an indeterminate period of time -- to the entire Mid-West!
And the catastrophic economic reprocussions for the entire Nation if that most dire scenario should actually happen ....
* * *
These "geopolitics of Katrina" were discussed at some length in a recent analysis posted on the well-known on-line economic and political website: Stratfor Inc.
"A Category 5 hurricane [at this writing], the most severe type measured, Katrina has been reported heading directly toward the city of New Orleans. This would be a human catastrophe, since New Orleans sits in a bowl below sea level. However, Katrina is not only moving on New Orleans. It also is moving on the Port of Southern Louisiana. Were it to strike directly and furiously, Katrina would not only take a massive human toll, but also an enormous geopolitical one.
"The Port of Southern Louisiana is the fifth-largest port in the world in terms of tonnage, and the largest port in the United States. The only global ports larger are Singapore, Rotterdam, Shanghai and Hong Kong. It is bigger than Houston, Chiba and Nagoya, Antwerp and New York/New Jersey. It is a key link in U.S. imports and exports and critical to the global economy.
"The Port of Southern Louisiana stretches up and down the Mississippi River for about 50 miles, running north and south of New Orleans from St. James to St. Charles Parish. It is the key port for the export of grains to the rest of the world --
corn, soybeans, wheat and animal feed. Midwestern farmers and global consumers depend on those exports. The United States imports crude oil, petrochemicals, steel, fertilizers and ores through the port. Fifteen percent of all U.S. exports by value go through the port. Nearly half of the exports go to Europe.
"The Port of Southern Louisiana is a river port. It depends on the navigability of the Mississippi River. The Mississippi is notorious for changing its course, and in southern Louisiana -- indeed along much of its length -- levees both protect the land from its water and maintain its course and navigability. Dredging and other maintenance are constant and necessary to maintain its navigability. It is fragile.
"If New Orleans is hit, the Port of Southern Louisiana, by definition, also will be hit. No one can predict the precise course of the storm or its consequences. However, if we speculate on worse-case scenarios the following consequences jump out:
"The port might become in whole or part unusable if levees burst. If the damage to the river and port facilities could not be repaired within 30 days when the U.S. harvests are at their peak, the effect on global agricultural prices could be substantial.
"There is a large refinery at Belle Chasse. It is the only refinery that is seriously threatened by the storm, but if it were to be inundated, 250,000 barrels per day would go off line. Moreover, the threat of environmental danger would be substantial.
"About 2 percent of world crude production and roughly 25 percent of U.S.-produced crude comes from the Gulf of Mexico and already is affected by Katrina. Platforms in the path of Katrina have been evacuated but others continue pumping. If this follows normal patterns, most production will be back on line within hours or days. However, if a Category 5 hurricane (of which there have only been three others in history) has a different effect, the damage could be longer lasting. Depending on the effect on the Port of Southern Louisiana, the ability to ship could be affected.
"A narrow, two-lane highway that handles approximately 10,000 vehicles a day, is used for transport of cargo and petroleum products and provides port access for thousands of employees is threatened with closure. A closure of as long as two weeks could rapidly push gasoline prices higher.
"At a time when oil prices are in the mid-60-dollar range and starting to hurt, the hurricane has an obvious effect. However, it must be borne in mind that the Mississippi remains a key American shipping route, particularly for the export and import of a variety of primary commodities from grain to oil, as well as steel and rubber. Andrew Jackson fought hard to keep the British from taking New Orleans because he knew it was the main artery for U.S. trade with the world. He was right and its role has not changed since then [emphasis added]...."
Now, here comes the "woo woo" part:
Visitors to Enterprise who have read and understood our analysis of last year's "anomalous" run of hurricanes on Florida, have sent us in the last few days a series of images of the eye-structure of this hurricane: and, indeed, they match the extraordinary "pentagonal HD geometry" we observed in our analysis.
It was our considered opinion last year that this specific "eye geometry" was indeed the potential signature of a unique "Hyperdimensional Physics" at work within such hurricanes: a physics that we have extensively discussed here at Enterprise for many years ....
Here (below) is one of those most recent Katrina images.
And here (below -- courtesy of one of our "crew members") is a negative version of the same image -- which allows one to see even better the striking five-sided, raised geometry ... somehow being created in Katrina's "eye."
* * *
The crucial question now now before us is just this:
Is Katrina "just another major hurricane" -- which "bad luck" has aimed straight at the most vulnerable city in the United States, New Orleans and, with it, the central economic artery of the entire mid-section of the Nation?
Or ... has Katrina -- carrying its tell-tale pentagonal "Hyperdimensional signature" (above), like the "test hurricanes" (in this model) of last year -- actually been hyperdimensionally enhanced (!) ... and aimed ... to do the most economic damage possible to the entire southern tier of the United States!
In other words: is this a blatant example of Tom Bearden's worst fears of a few days ago materialized (below) -- actual "Hyperdimensional Terrorism" ... hitting our Nation and economy at this most crucial time ... when oil (as of this morning) has now reached $70 per barrel ... and still climbing ..?!
"...This hurricane already made a right angle turn West to move across the tip of Florida, and into the Gulf, where the warm Gulf waters will increase its intensity and the damage it does. Some 40% or so of U.S. oil comes from that Gulf, hence the strategic importance of the targeting. The most lucrative damage path would be through the oil rigs and platforms, and then hit shore centered on New Orleans. We'll just have to see if that is the path generated ...
"So SecDef Cohen's warning was right on, and now we are into it. The hostile plan also calls for gradually increasing the intensity of the damage done to the United States by each incident, since Americans do not react to slowly increasing threats (that is one of our grave strategic vulnerabilities, as shown by a standard Strategic Analysis routinely done by military folks). So our geologists and scientists just blithely state that 'we have entered a geologically active period', and everybody thinks these incidents are just flukes of nature. That way, our national reaction characteristics are used to our own grave disadvantage ...
"As you can see, the major intent of our foes is to bring about a catastrophic economic collapse of the entire U.S. economy, something like two years from now, so there will result great chaos and disorder in all our cities, paralyzing out entire society. And all by adroitly engineered 'acts of nature', with never a nuclear weapon fired ...."
One professional meteorologist, Scott Stevens -- at KPVI-TV in eastern Idaho -- has independently reached the same scientific conclusion that we have ... that "someone" is indeed "managing" our weather!
His website, weatherwars.info, is packed with imaging and other technical information backing up his startling conclusions.
As I bluntly asked one of our own long-time Enterprise "intel insiders," late last night:
"Are we, in fact -- as Bearden strongly now suggests -- immersed in an undeclared hyperdimensional weather war ...!?
"And, if so--
"Is our elected political and appointed military leadership even aware of this physics and technology!?
"And, if they are -- what, if anything -- are they doing to counter this most insidious of threats to our long-term national stability and economic livelihood?
"Or, is this a direct result of the last half-century of increasingly obsessive and expanding secrecy ... under the constant guise of 'national security' -- which has produced 'black ops,' and even entire nations, equipped with weapons and technology which would seem like literal 'magic' to any duly elected current Congressman ... or President.
"And, if so ... most important--
"Who's the enemy ..!?"
"And--
"Are they outside ... or inside ... the United States?!"
His answer was not reassuring ....
Stay tuned.

Crisis Grows As Flooded New Orleans Looted By ADAM NOSSITER, Associated Press Writer
19 minutes ago
NEW ORLEANS - Helicopters dropped sandbags on two broken levees as the water kept rising in the streets. The governor drew up plans to evacuate just about everyone left in town. Looters ransacked stores. Doctors in their scrubs had to use canoes to bring supplies to blacked-out hospitals.
New Orleans sank deeper into crisis Tuesday, a full day after Hurricane Katrina hit.
"It's downtown Baghdad," said tourist Denise Bollinger, who snapped pictures of looting in the French Quarter. "It's insane."
The mayor estimated that 80 percent of New Orleans was flooded, while a countless number of residents were still stranded on rooftops.
Hospitals were running out of power and scrambling to find places to take their patients. At one clinic, broken glass littered some areas and patients and staff had fallen on floors slick with floodwaters.
"It's like being in a Third World country," said Mitch Handrich, a registered nurse manager at Charity Hospital, where nurses were ventilating patients by hand after the power and then the backup generator failed. Some 300 patients had yet to be evacuated, but the babies in intensive care had been flown out.
"We're just trying to stay alive," Handrich said.
Gov. Kathleen Blanco said that everyone still in the city, now huddled in the Superdome and other rescue centers, needs to be evacuated. The Federal Emergency Management Agency is considering putting people on cruise ships, in tent cities, mobile home parks, and so-called floating dormitories — boats the agency uses to house its own employees.
Rescue teams were still picking up people throughout the city Tuesday, leaving them on island-like highway overpasses and on a levee to wait to be moved again. Eventually, they will end up in the Superdome, where 15,000 to 20,000 people have taken already refuge, said Louisiana National Guard Maj. Gen. Bennett C. Landreneau. One person died at the Superdome attempting to jump from one level to a lower one.
Among the evacuees are 5,000 inmates from New Orleans and suburbs that need to be moved. Officials were trying to figure out how.
The historic French Quarter appeared to have been spared the worst flooding, but its stores were getting the worst of human nature.
"The looting is out of control. The French Quarter has been attacked," Councilwoman Jackie Clarkson said. "We're using exhausted, scarce police to control looting when they should be used for search and rescue while we still have people on rooftops."
As Sen. Mary Landrieu (news, bio, voting record) flew over the area by helicopter, a group of people smashed a window at a convenience store and jumped in.
At a drug store in the French Quarter, people were running out with grocery baskets and coolers full of soft drinks, chips and diapers. One looter shot and wounded a fellow looter, who was taken to a hospital and survived.
Only rooftops were visible in several neighborhoods and the occasional building was in flames.
On a grassy hill in the Carrolton neighborhood, a group of people watched the water quickly rising in the street, about a foot an hour by some estimates.
William Washington had gone to bed in dry house Monday night, well after the hurricane had passed. The water came up Tuesday after the levee broke, and by afternoon his home was flooded.
"We're trying to get to the Superdome," Washington said as he waited with neighbors. "We're waiting for the National Guard. The radio mentioned that they would pick people up."
With hundreds, if not thousands, of people still stranded in flooded homes, attics and rooftops across the city, rescue boats were bypassing the dead to reach the living, Mayor C. Ray Nagin said.
"We're not even dealing with dead bodies," Nagin said. "They're just pushing them on the side."
A few more feet of water could wipe out the entire city water system, said Terry Ebbert, the city's homeland security chief.
The intestates are impassable, the bridges may be unstable and no one knows if the buildings can withstand the damage brought by Katrina, the governor said after flying over the region.
"We saw block after block, neighborhood and neighborhood inundated," Blanco said, her voice breaking with emotion. "It's just heartbreaking."
Sean Jeffries of New Orleans had already been evacuated from one French Quarter hotel when he was ordered out of a second hotel Tuesday because of rising water.
The 37-year-old banker — who admitted to looting some food from a nearby supermarket — said the hotel guests were told they were being taken to a convention center, but from there, they didn't know.
"We're in the middle of a national tragedy," he said as he popped purloined grapes in his mouth. "But I know this city. We will be back. It may take awhile. But we will be back."

Iran's oil gambit - and potential affront to the US
The Iranian government's plans to create an oil exchange fit into a strategy of weakening US economic hegemony.
By Howard LaFranchi | Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor
WASHINGTON - Is the biggest threat Iran poses to the United States really its nuclear ambitions - or is it petropolitics?
Last month the Iranian government quietly reaffirmed plans to create by next year a euro-denominated exchange in oil, natural gas, and other petroleum products. If successful, such an exchange could start to lap at the walls of the two existing oil exchanges - London's International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) and the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) - both owned by American companies.
If the billions of dollars in oil sales ever got going in euros, experts say, that could dry up the demand for dollars that the heavily indebted US economy depends on, and it could mean big trouble for the US economy. It's enough to make the Great Satan-loathing visionaries behind the Iranian regime salivate. The chances of success, however, seem quite remote - at least in the short term.
"At this point, it's really to poke their finger in the eye of the US," says Jean-François Seznec of Columbia University's Middle East Institute in New York. "Certainly part of their idea is to weaken American economic hegemony." But whether it's the right tactic to achieve that strategy, he suggests, is questionable.
Still, as much as a pipe dream as the plan may be, it suggests the lengths to which Iranian leaders could go to weaken Western (and largely American) controls on the international economy, analysts say. It also hints at the integrated thinking that backs up the Iranian government's vision.
"It's part of a very intelligent, creative Iranian strategy - to go on the offense in every way possible and mobilize other actors against the US," says George Perkovich, an Iran expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington.
Indeed, the exchange proposal is not the only evidence of Tehran's geopolitical plottings. Experts note that Iran has approved huge energy deals with both India and China - deals that not only cement Iran as an energy power, but also could create powerful friends for Tehran's ambitions. Iran signed an agreement this year to provide India with liquefied natural gas over a 25-year period and signed a similar agreement last year to supply China with natural gas over a 30-year period. Both countries are in a deal to invest in and develop Iran's Yadaravan oil field - the kind of investment that US oil companies are prohibited from making because of US sanctions - while Iran presses to build a major pipeline through Pakistan to India. "Iran is definitely looking East, rather than West," says Mr. Seznec, "and that will matter."
Iran continues its geopolitical play even as pressure against it mounts over its nuclear program. With international meetings planned next month to address the nuclear issue, new accusations are being made that claim to shed new light on a connection between Iran's nuclear program and its military.
At a Washington press conference last week, Iranian regime critic Alireza Jafarzadeh presented information claiming that Iran has used "reverse engineering" to deconstruct a Ukrainian missile it acquired in 2001 to build its own long-range missile. The new missile could be fitted with a nuclear warhead, Mr. Jafarzadeh claimed, although he said he does not have evidence that Iran is anywhere near possession of a nuclear warhead. Jafarzadeh also presented information purporting to substantiate links between the nuclear network of Pakistani nuclear engineer A.Q. Khan and the Iranian military, specifically the Revolutionary Guards.
Jafarzadeh, formerly of the US office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, is considered of dubious reliability by some experts because of his connections to the Iranian regime's opposition. The National Council is actually on the US list of terrorist organizations.
But Jafarzadeh points out that information he presented on Iran's nuclear program in 2002 turned out to be accurate and became part of the body of evidence against Iran that led to its being in the international hot seat over its nuclear program. Jafarzadeh says his sources are well placed inside Iranian nuclear facilities and that he cannot reveal their names for that reason.
Some Iran experts back Jafarzadeh's claims as important additions to growing evidence against Iran.
His information shows that "at the same time Iran sought nuclear bomb capability, it also pursued development of long-range missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads," says Raymond Tanter, an Iran expert with close ties to the Bush administration's toughest Iran critics. "By using reverse engineering, from secretly purchased cruise missiles from Ukraine four years ago, Iran is a screwdriver's turn away from having a nuclear-capable cruise missile system that is integrated with a ballistic missile system."
As for any plans to build an alliance of Asian countries against the West, experts note that its energy deals don't necessarily mean that Iran can count on its new oil partners as political allies, experts say. But they also note that already Iran is thought to have little to fear from any eventual referral of its nuclear program to the United Nations Security Council because of its ties to Russia and China, both permanent Council members.
Iran's success so far at building powerful friendships to counter efforts by the US and the European Union to squelch its nuclear ambitions has led some observers - in particular pro-Iran partisans or the most virulent detractors of the Iranian regime - to highlight the oil-exchange proposal. In particular, in Web page commentaries, it is being lauded by the former, while the latter sound alarm bells.
Iran probably stands to gain little from its talk of establishing a petro-euro exchange except for some propaganda value, say experts in energy markets.
"It's purely rhetorical," says Roger Diwan, managing director for oil markets at the Petroleum Finance Co. in Washington. "In order to have these [oil] contracts, you have to have a lot of people invest in them, and most of those people are in places like New York and London," he adds. "I don't see a lot of investors in New York deciding to shift [contract writing] from New York to Tehran." Mr. Diwan also notes that Iran is not alone in envisioning an oil exchange in the world's major oil-producing region. Dubai is also trying to create a market, he adds, but is not finding the way easy.
Yet even as remote as the Iranian threat may be, others note that past attempts to create new markets have not been greeted warmly. None other than Saddam Hussein decided to sell oil only in contracts dominated in euros - in the months before he was ousted by a US-led military invasion.
The Iranian regime is certainly not looking to provoke a similar reaction, experts say, but on the other hand it is taking similar stabs at the global economic system as it faces waves of mostly Western-based criticism. "Basically they are just throwing stuff out," says Carnegie's Mr. Perkovich, "throwing out these ideas in an effort to stay on the offensive."

Human Zoo Stunt Is
Elite Psy-Op - Caged Animals
By Henry Makow, PhD
8-27-5
http://www.rense.com/general67/zoo.htm
The talk of the UK media Friday was eight young scantily clad humans frolicking in the bear cage at London Zoo in an exhibit labeled "Humans."
"Warning: Humans in their Natural Environment" read the sign at the entrance to the exhibit.
"Seeing people in a different environment, among other animals ... teaches members of the public that the human is just another primate," London Zoo spokeswoman Polly Wills said.
Don't be deceived. This is not a frivolous publicity stunt but the kind of psy-op we are going to see more of. Psychological warfare conquers the target population by changing its self-perception.
With Great Britain fast becoming a police state, the caged population must see itself in animal terms. It must not insist on privacy, freedom and other "human" rights.
At the heart of Western (Christian) Civilization is the belief that man contains a Divine Spark, the soul. It is what makes him "human" and connects him to a Divine Plan through his spiritual desires like justice, truth, love and beauty.
The enemies of Western civilization, occult bankers headquartered in the City of London, have constructed a totalitarian police state. They want people to think of themselves as animals, easier to harness, herd, breed and cull.
This is obvious from the media coverage, which is more important than the stunt itself. Repetition is the essence of brainwashing. The notion that humans are nothing but animals is repeated six times in the short AP wire story I saw. For example:
"A lot of people think humans are above other animals," said one participant. "When they see humans as animals, here, it kind of reminds us that we're not that special."
Mark Ainsworth, 21, heard about the Human Zoo on the news. "This exhibit made us come to the zoo. Humans are animals too!"
Pointing at one heavy muscled and gleaming body on the ledge, one visitor joked that the zoo should consider a breeding program.
Like the rest of their caged neighbours, the humans had a variety of toys to keep them entertained, board games, music, paints, and balls.
They are being treated as animals, complete with keepers, but are allowed to go home each night at closing time.
When visitor Peter Bohn, 42, saw the "animals" juggling, he stopped and had a good laugh.
"It's hilarious," he said. "It turns everything upside down. It makes you think about the humans in relation to the animals."
"Turn everything upside down" is exactly what the elite planners are doing. They represent organized evil on this planet so Evil is Good. Good is Evil. True is False and False is True. Freedom is Slavery and Slavery is Freedom. Peace is War and War is Peace. Welcome to Orwell's 1984.
The British public is the target of a relentless psychological warfare campaign to shock it into submission. The murder of Brazilian engineer Jean Charles de Menezes was no accident. The message was that the state could murderanyone at any time without any reason.
The British are so terrified that a recent poll showed 75% willing to forego their civil rights for more "security." It doesn't occur to most of them that this is the way dictatorships take power, by trickery.
I wouldn't be surprised if the London Zoo stunt was concocted across town at the Tavistock Institute, where the British elite has been waging psychological war on humanity for more than eighty years.
The public reaction to this stunt should have been outrage. How dare they degrade us in this way? But apparently the public already has been so degraded it doesn't know the difference. Or too shocked and appalled to speak.
Educated people? What a pathetic disappointment.
The spectators at the London Zoo won't find it so amusing when *they* are in the cages, and feeding time has been canceled.

Britain's elite get pills to survive bird flu
http://www.infowars.com/articles/science/bird_flu_uk_elite_get_pill_to_survive.htm
London Times | August 28, 2005
By Sarah-Kate Templeton and Jonathan Calvert
MEMBERS of Britain’s elite have been selected as priority cases to receive scarce pills and vaccinations at the taxpayers’ expense if the country is hit by a deadly bird flu outbreak.
Workers at the BBC and prominent politicians — such as cabinet ministers — would be offered protection from the virus.
Ken Livingstone, the London mayor, has already spent £1m to make sure his personal office and employees have their own emergency supplies of 100,000 antiviral tablets.
If there is an avian flu pandemic in the coming months there would be enough drugs to protect less than 2% of the British population for a week.

Spread of bird flu virus is a 'national emergency'
The Department of Health has drawn up a priority list of those who would be first to receive lifesaving drugs. Top of the list are health workers followed by those in key public sector jobs.
Although senior government ministers would be among the high-priority cases, the department said this weekend that it had not decided whether to include opposition politicians.
BBC employees would be protected because the corporation is required to broadcast vital information during a national disaster.
Politicians and the media have been placed before sick patients, heavily pregnant women and elderly people by government planners.
Yesterday, leading BBC presenters were surprised to learn that they would be given preferential treatment. Jeff Randall, the BBC’s business editor, said: “Are you really telling me that I am on a priority list for bird flu jabs? Marvellous. I always knew there would be an advantage from working at the BBC.”
John Humphrys, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, said: “I think if I were offered the jab I would probably pass it on to someone 40 years younger than me.”
Nick Clarke, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s World at One, said: “I’m sure I wouldn’t qualify. My programme has news and comment and the one thing you can do without in a pandemic is comment . . . They would want to have Huw Edwards and reassuring newsreaders on radio.”
Fears that a “doomsday” virus may sweep the world have been heightened by the recent spread of the lethal strain of avian flu, H5N1. The death toll, estimated at 120, has been of people whose work brought them into close contact with infected birds. Scientists have warned that millions could die if H5N1 mutates.
The Department of Health would not currently be able to cope with such an onslaught. Although it has ordered 14.6m doses of Tamiflu, an antiviral drug thought to be effective against the H5N1 strain, only 900,000 doses are in stock so far. The full supply will not be delivered until March 2007, at a total cost of about £100m.
Besides the NHS and BBC, firemen, police and the armed forces are among those listed in the two top-priority groups to receive the vaccine.

The puppetmasters create "disorder" so the people will demand "order". The price of "order" always entails a handing over of control and loss of freedom on the part of the citizenry. Out of "chaos" comes "order" - THEIR order - their new WORLD order.
Orwell Today will list some historical and present-day examples of chaotic events that achieve the aims desired by the powers-that-be. This list is by no means complete but should give people the general idea.
The trick of creating chaos and then seizing power under the pretense of putting things back in order is a tried and true method of deception and manipulation. It's the meaning behind the Latin motto: ORDO AB CHAO meaning ORDER OUT OF CHAOS.
It's also referred to as the Hegelian Dialect after the philosopher Georg Hegel who wrote about its effectiveness. He described it as: THESIS -- ANTITHESIS -- SYNTHESIS.
Others have described it as: PROBLEM -- REACTION -- SOLUTION in that firstly you create the problem; then secondly you fan the flames to get a reaction; then thirdly (like Johnny-on-the-spot) you provide a solution. The solution is what you were wanting to achieve in the first place, but wouldn't have been able to achieve under normal circumstances.
Orwell described it as REALITY CONTROL
There are literally HUNDREDS of examples of this method being used effectively throughout the course of history. A well-known example is the bombing of Pearl Harbor which resulted in the United States entering the Second World War. Chaos was required and so chaos was created. That's how it works. ~ Jackie Jura

LaRouche Says 'Georgie Porgie And Hitler' Running Government And Leading World Into Global Disaster
LaRouche Says 'Georgie Porgie And Hitler' Running Government And Leading World Into Global Disaster
Former Democratic nominee for President and Labor Party Presidential candidate, Lyndon LaRouche, claims martial law is right around the corner if Bush, Cheney and the neo-cons aren't removed from their stranglehold on government.
August 26, 2005
By Greg Szymanski
He likes to call President Bush “Georgie Porgie” and Vice President Cheney “Hitler in a bunker.” He considers Bush a half-wit and a “nominal President” while classifying Cheney, actually in control of the country, as trigger-happy and a Hitler-type mad-hatter.
And put “Georgie Porgie” and Hitler together in the same Oval Office and according to Lyndon LaRouche, former Labor Party presidential candidate and controversial international political figure, it’s the perfect recipe for global disaster, economic chaos and martial law, the likes of which are unimaginable to most Americans clinging to the last remnants of prosperity, democracy and freedom.
But LaRouche, 84, using his vast economic and political experience as a guide, claims Bush and Cheney aren’t the real problem, but just willing mouthpieces for a syndicate of wealthy international bankers pulling the strings and controlling the White House.
“These guys are not important. Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are just the willing stooges,” said LaRouche this week in a telephone conversation from his Vermont headquarters where he operates his latest political organization called LaRouche Political Action Committee (PAC).
“These bankers are in danger of losing power since the economic system they created years ago is finally collapsing. They are at the end of their string after playing the funny money game for so long.
“Now, they are saying ‘we can’t have democracy and we need a dictatorship’ in order that they can control what’s left after the fall. This is why things are moving so fast now. Bush and company are in a race to create a dictatorship before everything collapses or people catch on to what they are trying to do.”
And LaRouche says after fighting the good fight for so many years, it his role now to “clog up the works” and alert America of the evil within since most all politicians and media commentators have “become gutless” and unable to fight for the truth.
“There isn’t much in the way of guts on Capital Hill,” said LaRouche. “The World War II generation would have never let this happen.”
Providing a powerful combination of blows with plenty of guts to both the character and integrity of Bush and Cheney, he added:
“Here you have a guy (Cheney) who is a real jerk and a Vietnam-era draft dodger. What you really have is a chicken hawk planning wars with no military background whatsoever. And then there is a psychopath for a President, the combination of which makes for a very dangerous situation.”
And in a recent August 1 radio interview with James White on the number one British commercial station, he elaborated on his views towards the nation’s top leaders:
“Bush is a man of limited intellect, and limited comprehension of what's going on around him. To some things he reacts passionately. To other things he reacts with a very curious indifference to reality. As, for example, when you have a President of the United States, who says that U.S. government bonds, which are part of the essential security system of the international monetary system, and says they're nothing but worthless pieces of paper, you know you have a President who is not quite all there.
“And in that situation, a fellow like Cheney, rising as Vice President way beyond the Constitutional limits of what a Vice President is allowed to do, is serving, actually, as an acting President. He's taking over. And I don't think George W. Bush really understands what going on.”
Although some may claim LaRouche, known for his over-the-top statements, is over-reacting, others claim the exceptionally talented economic and political forecaster is right on target with his recent prediction that America is only months, if not weeks away, from a another 9/11-like attack as well as nuclear war in Iran.
Recently after checking meticulously with numerous inside Washington sources including a high-ranking former U.S intelligence official, LaRouche put out a “world wide” red alert covering the period of August 2005.
In his alert distributed widely on the internet, The American Conservative Magazine originally claimed Cheney had already ordered the Stategic Command (STRATCOM) to prepare contingency plans for a conventional and tactical nuclear strike against hundreds of targets in Iran in the event of a “new 9/11-style attack on the U.S.
Following the initial report LaRouche then verified it with reports from highly qualified Congressional and military sources, who have confirmed the essential elements of the original story , adding the Iran plans are not merely contingency studies, but represent the policy intentions of Cheney.
“Time is of the essence,” said LaRouche. “The administration is on a fast and furious time schedule and that’s why something is going to happen in August or September. I foresee even a bigger attack than 9/11 and what they are planning is a shock-effect to the public conscience in order to take control. It is my intention to try and get them out of office before that happens.”
Gaining political prominence in the 1960’s, LaRouche originally known for his economic expertise, he has always been at odds with the traditional ruling families formerly connected with the New England opium traders and Manhattan bankers who follow in the tradition of Martin Van Buren and J.P. Morgan as well as those still clinging to the tradition of southern slave-holding.
Although the roots of differing economic theories rest deep in history and philosophical thought, LaRouche attempted to bring America’s failing economic situation into terms understood by everyone.
“After World War II, we maintained for years the world’s most powerful economy despite our foolish mistakes,” said LaRouche. “America was then put through a series of shocks with the Kennedy assassination and Vietnam while all the time the economy shifting from being an industrial, production based system to essentially a service economy.
“Now, we have white collar crooks running the country, guys who have destroyed the economy. For 40 years, we've been destroying the U.S. economy. We are now, still, nominally, the masters of a world monetary system, by virtue of the dollar. We're crashing the dollar. And the whole thing is about to come down, because of these financial derivatives kinds of nonsense, as typified by the hedge-funds crisis.
“We're sitting there, like idiots! We got ourselves into this mess: We destroyed our industry; we destroyed our agriculture; we're living off the back of the rest of the world—and we think we can go on like this forever? No. Certain countervailing things begin to come in and hit us, after, say, 40 years of lunacy.”
Concerning 9/11 and the 7/7 London bombings, Larouche thinks they both were inside government jobs, creating the necessary fear an intimidation need to lead a population into an eventual dictatorship.
Claiming the Bush and Blair governments have caused their own Reichstag fire, LaRouche claims what happened to the German people during the Nazi era is similar to what is now being played out in America.
“Remember, people first laughed at Hitler, saying he never could rise to power. But then Hermann Goering set fire to the Reichstag and dictatorial powers were granted to Hitler,” said LaRouche.
“Now we have people like Cheney, who are thinking like some of those behind Hitler then, thinking they can pull off an operation, and they have no comprehension—remember, Cheney is a draft-dodger, and here he is planning wars! And this kind of situation is the danger.
“Sensible people, around the world, know that warfare, except for defense, is a pointless operation in this day and age. The consequences are immense. There are other ways, and better ways that we can handle security problems, than going to general war simply because we're angry.”
Besides war, LaRouche thinks if Bush and his cronies were removed from power, there still is a fighting chance to save America and its economic future. Although LaRouche admits there is very little “guts: on Capital Hill, he is still trying to convince a small minority “of true patriots” in the Senate to block the Bush administration push towards martial law and a totalitarian state.
“I am essentially carrying the spear and trying to clog up the works for those on the hill who won’t come forward publicly,” said LaRouche, who is trying to use every avenue to divert the Bush administration push towards a global conflict.
Seeking the Democratic Presidential nomination without success on six occasions and running for President in 1976 as the U.S. Labor Party candidate, LaRouche has been target for harassment and litigation by the establishment on numerous occasions.
Convicted and sentenced on conspiracy charges in in the late 1980’s in what critics call a political hatchet job, German law specialist, Professor Freidrich A. Freiherr vo der Heydte, said:
"Everything we have been able to find out about the trial against Lyndon H. LaRouche, has been yet another painful reminder that the exploitation of the judicial system for the achievement of political ends, is unfortunately a method used repeatedly today in the West as well as the East."
Also, commenting on the injustice behind the LaRouche charges and conviction was former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, described the case as representing "a broader range of deliberate cunning and systematic misconduct over a longer period of time utilizing the power of the Federal government than any other prosecution by the U.S. Government in my time or to my knowledge."
