<<wudda cudda game>> Yup, I'm good at that one.
TIE is finally on a roll. Do you think it will make 40? I'm guessing not.
With today's move in DECK I might have made back the losses I took earlier this year trying to short it. Call it an anger trade - I bought shares long since I couldn't make any money short. Now I wish I was more serious about it and bought more. LOL.
The WCG debacle is one I missed.
And here I thought you were in Montana!
I like your ag ideas. They combine nicely with Jim Rodgers commodity thesis. Nice job picking some up on today's dip. I'll have to add something in this realm to my portfolio.
Guz, USU - it looks like a name Joe Stocks follows. (Trader's Coop board)
The Canadians ended up with their gold medals. I can wait for mine. :)
Newly, your story about the Guinness family castle is way cool. I only got 3 weeks in Ireland, but it was a wonderful trip. I thought I would have returned by now, though. Hey, Gaelic New Year is coming up.
Doesn't the chart in C scare you? I don't read charts well, but it scares me.
We are getting our clocks cleaned, Pantera, on this SNDK. I feel like a Canadian skater after the French judge gave their score.
Book to Bill and negative tech stock environment isn't helping us any.
Yeah, Newly, Grand Canyon should be its own trip. I would do the skywalk if it were convenient, even though it seems to be a tourist trip. A similar, but non-touristy place I found quite awe inspiring was the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. That was back in '86. I wonder how many cows (if any) fell into the sea.
RE: SNDK -- I decided to listen to Eli on CNBC yesterday afternoon. (What happening to me with all this business tv I'm watching lately?!?!) Anyway, of course he seemed quite happy with the company's performance and the stock was trading up nicely at that point AH. Not sure why it dropped off so. I'll continue to hold for now. If you find out anything of note on the CC I would be interested. Right now I don't have the patience to listen. Next week should be better for my concentration.
OT, I might have trouble with the engineer in the family who would want to spend more than 10 minutes at the dam. Also, it seems that the bus tours can take more like 10 - 15 hours. I'm still searching though. Apparently the Hualapai Skywalk is open now on the west rim but there is 14 miles of dirt road to get there and it costs over $80 per person just to walk on the skywalk. If I get out to the Grand Canyon, it will probably be by air this time. I'm not up to spending a day on a bus. Maybe I can make the Grand Canyon the focus of a trip in the future. Its a great idea.
Thanks cy. Maybe there will be another correction on BZP for you to add and me to get a few. Shasta
I was just going to write to you about TIE!! How funny. If it closes above 35 tomorrow my shares will be gone though.
Cy, was it you that is in BZP? It was a lightening round question on Mad Money a couple of nights ago. Cramer didn't know it but made it sound as though he would investigate. Since I don't know the show that well, I don't know if he actually follows up on it.
I'd love to see the Grand Canyon. Maybe I can do that and Hoover Dam. Thanks for the idea, Extel.
I save my gambling for the stock market. It should be fun though. I hope to go out to Hoover Dam.
Tahoe is great! Should have bought there years ago, but didn't have the funds.
Yes, I am quite the fashionista with my lovely Intown tote. Matches the COH purse nicely. :)
I'm waiting for TIE to move up a bit before I write calls again. I don't write every month, so I've missed some income.
Come on, Pantera! You can't win them all. I see a lot of nice winning trades under your belt lately. COH makes sense to me. I know nothing about TDW.
If SNDK doesn't report wonderful earnings, I'll keep you company in the sorrow dept.
I'd wait on buying in Nevada if I was interested. That said, I've obligated myself to sit through a time-share presentation this weekend in Las Vegas. I've never done one before. LOL. My hubby is less than thrilled...
Watching TV late the other night I thought I heard Cramer liking COH, fwiw. I would imagine that he is more long term than what you are looking at. I've watched more Cramer last week than I ever had before. His screaming in the background kept me up and so I was able to continue my tasks at hand.
My TIE Oct 35's look like they will expire worthless. I'll probably wait to write another call on them. We are talking small potatoes here, but I'm having some fun with it.
Joe, I received the totes just before I left for NY. Thank you! They've proven to be very handy for errands. I'll give the other to my GA cousin when I see her around Thanksgiving. :)
So, what have I been missing around here? I have lots of posts to catch up on.
SNDK earnings should be interesting.
Gee Joe, I didn't realize that the bags were advertising your store! Sign me up for one - I'll email you my particulars.
Joe is right, folks, reusable shopping bags are where its at. That said, I like the plastic ones too. I reuse those as well and recycle them at the grocery store when I get too many.
Liz Ann Sonders from Schwab quoted a portion of Hathaway's Barrons interview in her analysis of the dollar. Specically on the link between the declining dollar and rising gold.
AD, its a good thing you sold GRMN. Did you see it this am?
I was going to suggest a baby's arm holding an apple (that's what you wanted from life, right?), but now you can put that in the reusable shopping bag. :)
over 30000 posts on this board. Nice!
Yeah, posting when I should be packing!! Going away for a week.
Hey AD, have you looked at DECK lately?
I figured it was just "bad luck" to have pulled out of ASTI right before its huge run-up. I anticipated a pull-back too. I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer as I can't imagine much Momo left - but I've been wrong before (RIMM comes to mind). Maybe I should put in an order at an "OB" since I won't be around to watch for awhile.
OK AD. I've been a holder of my Au positions, so now the old-timers are coming back to where it would have been nice if I sold!
ASTI hurting me too.... I sold for a small profit last Thurs or Friday.
Now Joe can sell grill accessories, as people will actually use their grills instead of going out to eat (to save $).
RE: TIPS - << it sure was a poor investment choice looking back>>
I disagree -- you needed something to diversify some of that RIG position!
<<resisting arrest with violence>> I heard pleading in his voice..."what did I do?" something to that effect. Doesn't sound violent to me.
Gee, the audio version I heard on Armstong and Getty this am, sounded like the TASR use was an inappropriate use of the product. So what the guy was a jerk and disrupting an event. He should get tasered for that? It didn't sound like he was a danger to anyone.
Thanks, Jeffsaxx
Nice job on SNDK, btw. I'm pulling for ya! (I'm in it too.)
Jeffsaxx, (or others) any thoughts on BIIB here? I have some long that I've held awhile (would be long term gain.) UBS has a sell on it.
