It is probably my fault..lol asked that question and this was Googles answer:
I'm not getting the alerts that I expected. How do I get more relevant results?
If the alerts that you are receiving for a particular query are not what you expected, then chances are that the terms you have picked are too broad or include incorrect punctuation. etc....
I am on a Mac computer, is that a Windows or IBM related in some way? Never heard of it. Got the article through my auto CHCG Google alert system, so assumed it was related to them....:o}
Check out the mention of 3C in the last paragraph.
Foxconn first software base in the Mainland
Aug. 20, 2007 (China Knowledge) – Taiwan-based company, Foxconn Technology Group, has officially opened its first software base in the Mainland.
Seven months since the company's signing of the letter of intent with the Nanjing municipal government, Foxconn has formally announced its software base in Nanjing, media reported.
Deviating from its normal projects, Foxconn has opened its software base in the less-developed Pukou District of Nanjing. This was because the company wanted to move in line with the local government's intentions, Foxconn CEO Terry Kuo said.
The new software base will be focusing on wireless communications networks, enterprise information security and medical software, media reported.
Reports also said that Foxconn has intention to hire about 30,000 software engineers in five years for the Nanjing base. This will provide software talents for its branches throughout the country, a source said.
At present the base has over 200 software developers.
Foxconn Technology Co. Ltd., headquartered in Taiwan, in focused in the manufacture, research, development and sale of computer, communications and consumer electronic (3C) products. Foxconn has also signed with Nanjing University of Technology to set up a Foxconn Software College.

In US there are 30,000 gun deaths and 100,000 gun injuries each year.
John Rosenthal
The United States: Gun Violence Capital of the World
Read More: Breaking Politics News, U.S. Congress, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Justice Department, George W. Bush, Virginia Tech
Given the virtually unregulated access to guns in the US, it's actually surprising that there aren't more than 80-90 gun deaths and 200-300 injuries everyday. There are an average of 30,000 gun deaths and 100,000 gun injuries each year. The average US annual firearm fatality rate is 10.6 per 100,000 population which is more than the entire industrialized world combined. Since 1999 when the US experienced a 30 year low in violent crime, most US cities have experienced a dramatic increase in gun violence. The difference between then and now is that the gun lobby now dictates national gun policy, and the deadly trend will continue until the President and Congress enact a handful of effective uniform national gun laws that address the unrestricted private sale of guns, including at 5,000 gun shows without even a criminal background check, support rather than restrict law enforcement, and confront race, poverty and the lack of economic opportunity in our poorest neighborhoods.
For instance, although Massachusetts has enacted the most effective gun violence prevention laws and initiatives in the Country and is among the top three states with the lowest firearm fatality rate in the US, it is an island surrounded by a sea of states where criminals can buy and sell an unlimited number of guns without even an ID or background check. To make matters worse in the last seven years the Federal government has not only turned a blind eye towards gun violence it has intentionally allowed easy access to guns and restricted law enforcement's ability to prevent and prosecute criminals how use and traffic guns. In fact there aren't even Federal minimum mandatory gun trafficking statutes on the books and incredibly, the US Justice Department requires that the FBI destroy National Instant Check (NICS) gun purchase records after 24 hours making it nearly impossible for police to track gun traffickers and illegal multiple gun sale patterns. The primary reason is the NRA and gun lobby's influence and control over Congress and the Bush administration. As a result the Federal Government renders nearly useless what few national gun laws that do exist and sadly law enforcement is unnecessarily put at risk by easy criminal access to much more powerful military style weapons and ammunition than police are issued to protect themselves and the public.
So what's the answer to gun violence in the US?
The solutions to gun violence are relatively simple-it's the politics that stand in the way of saving lives from largely preventable gun violence; reduce easy access to guns by kids, the mentally ill and criminals with uniform national laws, support vs. restrict law enforcements ability to enforce gun laws and acknowledge and address the realities of poverty, race and social inequity in especially our inner city neighborhoods, schools and employment sectors. Unfortunately these solutions require the political will and courage to stand up to the greed, ignorance and shortsightedness of the gun lobby and their supporters in Congress and the White House. We must recognize that if gun violence were killing mostly suburban white kids like at Virginia Tech, Columbine High, University of Texas, Jonesboro Elementary School or Anyboro USA vs. the 80-90 mostly urban kids of color everyday, the uproar that we heard last week in the wake of VT would be deafening and Congress and the President would act. It's way past the time for the uproar to quiet the sound of gunshots in the United States-gun violence capital of the world!
No problem, I invest and the fluctuations aren't so important, I like to stay in a stock, when I think it might do something big. This looks like a puppy with big feet...lol

ZHEJIANG PROVINCE, China, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- China 3C Group (OTC Bulletin Board: CHCG - News), a rapidly growing retailer and distributor of consumer and business products in China, announced today that revenue for the second quarter of 2007 was $64.5 million versus $28.6 million in the comparable quarter last year, an increase of approximately 125%. Net income for the quarter was $5.5 million, or $0.10 per basic and diluted share, up 140% from $2.3 million, or $0.05 per share, for the same quarter last year. As expected, sales in the second quarter of 2007 were less than the first quarter of 2007 due to seasonal effects from the Chinese New Year in the first quarter.
China 3C Group's Chief Executive Officer, Zhenggang Wang stated, "We are pleased with our year-over-year increase in revenues, which was due to a combination of organic growth of our existing business and the acquisitions of new business operations during the second half of last year. Based on these half year results, we are also reaffirming our full year 2007 earnings guidance of $0.50 to $0.54 per diluted share as we expect the rest of the year to continue to show an increase in growth."
China 3C Group generated $12.9 million in net cash from operating activities during the first six months of 2007 and ended the quarter with $15.2 million in cash. This compares to $1.29 million in net cash generated through operating activities and an ending balance of $3.3 million for the same period last year.
Wang also stated, "Net cash from operating activities increased ten times from where it was in the same period last year, and nearly three-fold to $10.3 million from the $2.6 million reported last quarter.
"The business model we have built of minimal inventory, minimal overhead and maximum turnover serves to maximize our free cash flow and thus directly benefit our financial results and, consequently, our shareholders. In the first quarter of 2007, our cash flow from operations was significantly lower than the second quarter because we were still integrating the operations of our newly acquired subsidiaries with our existing businesses. Management believes that the more stabilized second quarter cash flow numbers indicate that we have successfully integrated operations from the two subsidiaries acquired during the second half of 2006.
"We realized $11.4 million in gross profit for the quarter, up 165% from $4.3 million for the same quarter in fiscal year 2006. Gross profit margin for the quarter was approximately 18%, compared to about 15% for the same period last year. On a sequential basis, gross profit margin increased 1.5% from the 16.5% that we reported for the first quarter this year."
Liked the CC a lot!!! Of course it has been on the fast track and what we can expect now even faster. It is China, does anyone here have an idea how fast these companies can grow. I was in Sina (in at 8) and Chinadotcom (in at 2) I made some really nice money, when they started to move....;o}

The consensus was that it is now bigger than boxing in the 18-34 year age group. Lots of mainstream sponsors are getting involved.

'I've been Tasered 200 times'
Peter Boatman
"You wouldn't call it pleasant", says Peter Boatman
Government plans to issue more police officers with Tasers have been criticised by human rights campaigners as dangerous.
But what does it actually feel like to be shot by a 50,000-volt weapon?
Like any good businessman, Peter Boatman believes he needs to personally sample his own product.
Unfortunately for the 54-year-old, this means being regularly paralysed with a high-tech stun gun.
Former police inspector Mr Boatman is operations director for Pro-tect Systems, which is licensed to sell Tasers to police forces and the military in the UK.
How does a Taser work?
Having been shot over 200 times with the device - which disables suspects by sending an electric charge into them through needle-tipped darts - he is nonchalant about the experience.
The first thing you notice is the muscles... spasming
Peter Boatman
"It's a bit like lying in bed and feeling a cramp in your leg, but it covers your whole body.
"Certainly, it's uncomfortable, but no more painful than a cramp.
"You don't feel the probes going in. The first thing you notice is the muscles in between them spasming, and then the rest of your body seizes up.
"As soon as the electricity is switched off, you don't feel anything anymore.
"You wouldn't call it pleasant, but I'd rather be Tasered than hit with a truncheon or bitten by a police dog."
'Intolerable pain'
Britain's police forces are increasingly turning to Tasers to disable suspects.
Around 3,000 have been issued to specially-trained officers since they were introduced to the UK four years ago, and Home Secretary John Reid has said he wants to see them issued to more officers.
Each Taser is shaped like a pistol and uses compressed air to fire two darts that trail electric cable back to the handset.
Taser stun gun
I'd rather be tasered than hit with a truncheon
Peter Boatman
When the darts hit their target, a five-second 50,000-volt charge flows down the cable, and the suspect's muscles contract uncontrollably.
Pro-tect insists Tasers are safe, and a sub-committee of Britain's Defence Scientific Advisory Council concluded in 2004 that the risk of them causing serious or fatal injuries was "very low".
But this view is fiercely disputed by Amnesty International, which says that 220 people have died in Canada and the US since 2001 after being Tasered.
It warns the devices cause "intolerable pain" and may worsen the risk of heart failure in people under the influence of drugs or with some health problems.
Kate Allen, Amnesty's UK director said: "Our message is simple - Tasers are potentially lethal and should be treated as such.
"We want comprehensive and independent testing to establish that they are safe before the government considers handing them out to every police officer."
In October last year, Brian Loan, 47, of County Durham, died after being shot by a Taser, but a post mortem examination found that he died of natural causes.
And in the meantime, it appears Peter Boatman's trade will continue to flourish.
What's better than a monopoly? A monopoly provided by the government! Taser's guns, which are a safer alternative to traditional firearms for police, military, etc., fit nicely into the global zeitgeist that lethal force should always be a last resort. Both municipal governments and the military seem keen on the idea of a taser gun, before a shotgun. If widely adopted, it may supply forces domestically, and around the globe.

More Light on the French Order (from Yahoo )
Please excuse the unfinished aspect of this posting - I've gotten tired of working on it.
I have roughly translated a Franch article , published today, and is available at
http://www.bienpublic.com/actu/region/20...
Because the posting was to long for Yahoo the actual translation is in my reply.
Several points:
The potential market for tasers in France is huge, actually a lot bigger then most on this board realize.
a. There are more then 200,000 people employed by the two police forces.
b. c2s are legal in all of France, and are currenly being promoted there (see http://www.stoper.fr/)
c. Other markets apply in France as they do in the U.S. - e.g. military, etc.
It is a very nuanced situation – there will not be humungus orders from the police, just as there are not in the U.S. but starting, probably next month, there will be a nice flow of orders.
For a full understanding of the article I have included some facts about the National Police and The Gendarmarie of which the Municipal Police are a part of. Regardless of the Headlines the article implies that that some Municipal Police do use Tasers.
In France, the Gendarmerie Nationale (National Gendarmerie) is the national gendarmerie and military police force. It has a strength of 104,275 personnel.
Its missions include:
* The policing of countryside areas and of small towns, usually populations under 10,000, outside of the jurisdiction of the French National Police. About half the French population is under the direct jurisdiction of the Gendarmerie.
* Criminal investigations under judiciary supervision.
* Crowd control and other security activities.
* The security of airports and military installations, as well as all investigations relating to the military, including in foreign interventions.
· Participations in ceremonies involving foreign heads of states or heads of governments.
The National Police (Police Nationale), formerly the Sûreté Nationale, is one of two national police forces and the main civil law enforcement agency of France, with primary jurisdiction in cities and large towns. The other main agency is the military Gendarmerie, with primary jurisdiction in smaller towns and rural and border areas. The National Police comes under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Interior and has about 150,000 employees.
The National Police operate mostly in large cities and towns. In that context:
* it conducts security operations (patrols, traffic control, identity checks...)
· under the orders and supervision of the Investigating magistrates of the judiciary, it conducts criminal enquiries, serves search warrants, etc.; it maintains specific services ("judicial police") for criminal enquiries.

Training Calendar Indicates Booming Sales of X26s. (Found on Yahoo)
7-Aug-07
An excellent way to gauge future orders of X26s is the continuous study of Taser's Training calendar. This I have done for the last several years and have reported my findings on this board form time to time. On this occasion I would like to report that my reading of the calendar as of today indicate record domestic orders for x26s over the next 12 to 18 months. Notice that I have excluded all other products (such as cams and c2s) and foreign orders as they would not necessarily be reflected in the training calendar.
First let me explain a thing or two about the training event calendar. (Available for all to see at taser.com.)
Classes are set up in advance, all over the country, by Taser Inc., and the individual instructor. They directly reflect the judgment of frontline people of current and future demand. Most of the courses are "instructor courses" that qualify people to instruct "armorer courses" which are "how to use the taser" classes). Almost all "armorer courses are not publicly recorded as they occur within private confines, such as police stations, police academies, prisons, etc. You can see that instructor courses have a tremendous multiplying effect (keep in mind that these courses have been going on for more then 4 years.).
Observations on the training event calendar as of today
1. A record number of fully booked courses.
This is the first year where there have been fully booked courses and each month that has gone by shows more of them. Of the twenty-five "instructor courses" left in August, currently eight are fully booked.
2. Record advance planning.
Normally the furthest planned courses have been about 9 months out, but now courses are being planned up to 13 months from now.

SWEEET-Valuation Analysis: China 3C Group
Posted on Aug 6th, 2007 with stocks: CHCG.OB
Steven Rubis submits: China 3C Group (CHCG.OB) is a distributor which operates using a “store in store” concept in Eastern China. Based on company guidance of $1B in revenue by 2010, the company is worth $16.38 per share using a discounted cash flow valuation.
Recommendation: UNDERVALUED
Investment Thesis:
China 3C Group combines two of the most powerful catalysts for share price appreciation: earnings growth and China. CHCG expects to operate 4,000 stores and generate revenue of $1B by the year 2010. If the company meets these expectations, revenue will grow at a 61% rate. China 3C Group trades at a discount for two reasons: [1] the stock is listed on the OTC Bulletin Board; and, [2] being based in China creates a dearth of information on the company.
Catalysts:
1.) AMEX listing: China 3C Group applied for listing on the American Stock Exchange on January 15, 2007. Listing on the AMEX would supply greater prestige for CHCG. Such prestige would generate share price appreciation because such a listing would increase investor familiarity.
2.) Information: Once the company is listed on the AMEX, more information on the company should be readily available. This will help determine whether growth estimates are realistic or blue sky estimates.
3.) Chinese Economy: Currently, China is experiencing unprecedented economic growth. If a recession were to hit the Chinese Economy, CHCG would be adversely affected.
Valuation:
The discounted cash flow method of valuation works best in analyzing China 3C Group. Relative analysis is nearly impossible due to difficulty in determining what industry CHCG belongs to and who its competitors are.
Valuation of China 3C Group Using Company Guidance
The table above illustrates the value of China 3C Group using management estimates for growth over the next four years. Management committed to operating 4,000 stores and generating $1B in revenue by 2010. This guidance suggests a 61% rate of growth, which can be calculated using the rate function in Microsoft Excel, or any financial calculator. The model assumes a more modest rate of growth, roughly 17%, for the years 2011 through 2016. Our model assumes a risk free rate of 7% and an unlevered beta of 2. These assumptions take into account default risks associated with foreign markets, and the volatility of equity prices for companies listed on the OTCBB.
Valuation of China 3C Group Using Conservative Growth Estimates
Table two illustrates what CHCG is worth using more conservative growth estimates. This DCF model assumes a 17% rate of growth well below the 61% in our first model. The model in table two assumes a risk free rate of 7% due to default risks associated with foreign investments and an unlevered beta of 1, since the model uses a more conservative growth estimate.
The relative valuation presented in table three uses the electronic stores industry for industry averages. China 3C group does not perform favorably using these valuation methods. From a P/E perspective CHCG is undervalued, but the stock trades at a premium in terms of price to sales and price to book value. These values as well as earnings power value are misleading because the company expects to achieve exponential growth over the next few years. Values presented in table three are interesting but do not provide an adequate assessment of the investment opportunity in China 3C group.
Business Prospects / model:
China 3C Group is a consumer electronics distributor, which operates nearly 800 stores in mainland China. The company distributes mobile phones, facsimile machines, DVD players, stereos, speakers, MP3 and MP4 players, iPods, electronic dictionaries, CD players, radios, Walkmans, and audio systems. China 3C Group expects to see strong growth from the mobile phone market over the next few years. The company has committed to operating 4,000 stores that generate $1B in revenue by 2010 [see company website].
In 2006, CHCG saw strong organic sales growth from its YYWC and HWDA subsidiaries. Each subsidiary grew revenues by 122% and 480% respectively. The company utilizes an acquisition strategy to compliment its organic growth of existing subsidiaries. CHCG acquired Hangzhou Sanhe Electronic Technology, Limited and Shanghai Joy and Harmony Electronic Development Co., Ltd. These newly acquired subsidiaries contributed $35M in revenue to CHCG in 2006.

Thank you for your email today regarding my scheduled interview on Squawk Box on
CNBC. Unfortunately, this is a case of miscommunication. I have appeared many
times on the program and after our earnings announcement, was looking forward to
the interview. After ringing the NASDAQ bell to open the market, I was seated for
my interview on CNBC from the NASDAQ Marketsite. While I was seated, I had several
conversations with the producer while waiting for my interview. Finally, after
several minutes, the producer informed me that they had missed the time for the
interview and apologized that they were going to have to cancel my appearance.
I was disappointed to say the least, but even more disappointed by the hosts’ comments,
which I did not hear until later. Again, I did not cancel on CNBC, they cancelled
on me.
EZ@-Wow that is impressive...;o}
CNBC Facts & his Opinions 23-Jul-07 09:02 pm
I taped Squawk on the Street (SOS) this morning to see the Taser CEO. Just watched it and here is what happen and my thoughts.
1.) First, a couple of teasers by SOS about CEO appearing containing cheesy videos of Cops/Trainees getting Tased.
2.) Followed by a couple of "CEO of Taser next on SOS". Erin Burnett even said "I know Mark is looking forward to this one." -- possible ambush or joke interview?
3.) There was an lengthy abnormal amount of time between the last "CEO of Taser next" and when Mark Haynes in a smug and satisfied tone announced, "We ought to tell people that they will not see Taser's CEO. We have been telling them all morning that we would have Taser's CEO, unfortunately the Chairman rather rudly turned away from us, and so we are not gonna put him on."
My opinion? SOS either jerked him around by keeping him waiting way too long, he did not appreciate the cheesy lead ins, or Smith caught wind of a possible ambush or mock interview, maybe all of the above.
Could and should he have handled it better, absolutely, it's the CEO's job to have grace under fire. However, I will forgive management if they continue to deliver growth and results -- Mr. Smith, consider this a learning experience. Ignore the buffoons and use the air time to sell products, and be better prepared and polished for the parasites that are the media.
Other thoughts welcome?
Peace,
