I don't know if reality is setting in yet with many people who are dismayed the predictions of its ''really cheap'' and ''going much higher''or ''its going to the next level''didn't come to pass[nobody considers that the ''next level'' might be down]Being a contrarian that sentiment is often a pretty good indicator the market or that stock has peaked, at is heading for a crash[check the postings, volume and the chart]
I am well aware this is unthinkable herecy to the penny stock gold speculators but the much anticipated ''big bounce back''appears to be elusive, and the Price of Gold might be headed lower and stay lower before its goes up again[we have already seen an abortive move up-which fizzled, there could be several]-and that phase could be years away...in the meantime the bills have to be paid, and this consolidation phase will sort out the marginal operations.Where PTQ will end up is anybodies guess, my thinking is it will be sold for its strategic land value to FQ not its low grade gold reserves that attract the speculators attention.I think their gravel deposits will provide a far more stable income to keep the compnay afloat.Copper has more industrial value than Gold and tends to be valued more on actual need than the typical gold bugs ''its gotta go up''sentiment
I don't see FQ tieing up aggregate from PDI with a contract precludes them buying up PTQ-with PDI intact. In fact, its probably an astute move-now they can sit back and buy the whole kit and caboodle when they are ready at their price.I don't think we have seen the bottom of the gold market yet,and if that lanquishes-chances are that will be reflected in PTQ's shareprice.''Big boys''[FQ] didn't get that way by paying more than they have to for assets they need or want.
But I doubt very much the gold operation is of much interest to them-they are in Panama for Copper, the strategic location of the land is what they need, that and the agregate to build infrastructure.I see value here-but not in a marginal gold operation, but the more mundane gravel and land for their copper operation
But as usual we will see how this all plays out-in the meantime, one mans opinion is as good as the next.
Compared to buying Inmet,FQ could pick up PTQ for chickenfeed-gold prices are down,PTQ's stock is floundering and there have been questions raised about them paying their bills on time.PTQ has one thing FQ needs-the land, not some low grade marginal gold mine. All they have to do is sit back and wait for it to fall into their lap for pennies
I have always considered PDI would be spun out-at some point, eventually ,but now I'm wondering if the fact it hasn't been are either the creditors won't allow their collateral to be diluted-or FQ sees that PDI has value to them and is part of the package and that is why PDI hasn't been spun off.
Over the years possably the biggest concern raised by shareholders on another board has been the lack of information-I recall ''huge news'' about drilling programs-then nothing.Maybe thr asay reports were buried in some other news,it seemed that when the results weren't as expected-we were given something else to ''anticipate''.I recall people asking ''when would PDI be spun out?''[we were told ''by next spring-at the latest'']....and then nothing.I recall people phoning IR-and not getting return calls.I don't know how many IR people we've had.I recall ''experts ''coming on board with great credentials-then quietly leaving.Nobody said why
Ever since Copper was spun off[we were SUPPOSED to retain an interest-but didn't]the performance of the stock has been DISMAL[from $3 to present-about a 90% decline].There have been several abortive attempts to get the SP back on track-all of which were a flash in the pan.I do not recall even one production estimate being met....and all this while the gold market was booming-and we languised.Sorry if that isn't what people would like to hear-but theres a few people here who DO remember, some hoping to just break even.It was probably more luck than anything else that I took my profits[could be something to do with NOT taking my profits on other ventures-and watching them vanish.]Success isn't free....
I personally believe the company will be broken up and sold-the land to FQ[when they are good and ready],the overseas operation as another company and PDI still another.I would put my bets on PDI-not the gold, which tends to be fickle.I suspect the reason why PDI hasn't been spun oou is more to do with the creditors disallowing it,they want their collateral assets to remain intact
don't know-but those are my opinions
if FQ decides to buy PTQ,the POG or the ''numbers''[good or bad]will have very little to do with the price-the value is in the land, not a marginal at best gold mine. What will influence the price per share is the dilution factor-and the burgeoning sharefloat has greatly diminished the value[when you quadruple the sharefloat-you decrease the value by 75%].In fact-had they done nothing at all, the value of the land remains the same-its strategic position is what FQ needs-not some low grade gold mine. But its been a ''little gold mine'' to the insiders......
now lets see if they find some excuse to delete this one-too funny![I guess it depends more on WHO you are more than WHAT you say]
just read The Gold Report-all the best juniors mentioned.Did you read the write up on PTQ?
This is the time the INVESTORS not the wild eyed SPECULATORS go bargain hunting-for QUALITY companies at rock bottom prices...
Contrary to the apologists there very definately is money ''coming into the sector''-the ''SMART MONEY''
now lets see if the moderators will delete this one....lol
''nothing will help until money re enters the market''-unfortionately when money was flooding into the gold market-in the biggest gold boom in history-what happened to PTQ?[check the 3 year chart]...and if it didn't THEN-its an uphill battle NOW
now lets see if they 'delete' this one because it makes people think rather than dream...
as usual no response to specific questions about FAILURE to keep shareholders informed in a timely manner.I well remember the frustration of ''anticipating''huge news on drill results.....month after month would go by-then the less than stellar results would be buried in some report, while the next batch of ''huge news'' would be ''anticipated''presumably to take the minds off of naive and the foolish who actually thought they would FINALLY be getting something. How many times were we told the PDI spinout would happen?how many times would people call IR...and not even be given the courtecy of a return call?
funny how the current batch[the others have long gone] of starry eyed rah rah boys have such short memories...if they were even there[I was]
thankgoodness I took my PROFITS early[maybe CRDY was the guy who bought my ''cheap'' stock off me because it was ''going to the next level''[which it did-DOWN]-too funny!]
for pure entertainment I like
[a]chuckling over the starry eyed rah rah boys ''anticipations''
reminding them of all the ''huge news''we were supposed to get-and didn't
[c]looking at my stock statement showing the $500,000 profit I made-by selling ''too soon''
[d] checking the price of the merchant banker stock that currently holds my interest in PTQ-it is TRIPLE my book value...
now I'll let you in on a little secret-way back I was trying to be concilitory to one of the rabid rah rah boys who called me the ''idiot''and suggested he look at the merchant bank stock I held-and was treated with open derision[PTQ was worth ''much more'']....subsequently PTQ CRASHED by 75% and my stock TRIPLED-after paying a $2.00 special dividend from the sale of Copper.I hear another 50 cent dividend is in the works.Uh-what did you say PTQ is currently trading at?-let me just check the chart...
now THATS entertainment I can live with!
I would suggest the board has been treated with the same ''regurgitated garbage''for four years alright-claims of UNREALISED PROJECTIONS, and bleatings of ''great opportunities'' and Pie in the sky shareprices that NEVER MATERIALIZED,and of course-the EXCUSES they make for management.
THAT ,I suggest is ''regurgitated garbage....about the only thing that changed is the names of the starry eyed promotors-they came, they beat their little drums and they left....
[funny-the current bunch don't want to comment on that,do they?]
but hey-I think the company will be broken up and sold,FQ will probably take PTQ for the land, what they hold in spain will likely be spun off into another ''great opportunity''as will PDI...with a little luck we might even make a buck.I said I didn't trust Fifer-I didn't say he was stupid...
the biggest challange Vancouver Penny Mining Stock speculators[no,they're NOT ''investors''] is trying to find independent, verifiable competant analysis of their''favourite''[this ones diferent] gold stocks.
When a Vancouver Penny Mining stock is virtually ignored by the marketplace, there's generally a good reason for it-and the ordinary shareholder is pretty much left to the mindless rhetoric of the glassy eyed salivating gold bugs who are convinced that:
[a]this ones diferent
next quarter is going to be much better
[c]management is looking after them
[d]the big bounce back is just around the corner
[e]the big boys are going to discover us and pay huge dollars to buy us out
perhaps the PTQ enthusiasts have an explanation for why PTQ is rarely even mentioned in ANY mining or investment publication[other than reporting infractions]
and thats why the VSE exists-fualed by dreams of riches-next year
this is what I think will happen-FQ will sit back in the weeds, wait for PTQ to get into financial dificulty, then pick it up for a song.[hopefully for more than 75 cents, but I wouldn't bet on it]Think about it-time is on their side, they don't need the property just yet,the gold market is in the doldrums, but reality hasn't set in yet-the starry eyed gold bugs are still desperately hoping and praying for the ''big bounce back''which is becoming more and more elusive[it could be years away, gold cycles are much longer than people think, and the gold bugs said the same thing after the last crash as they are saying now].PDI,which we were ''promised'' will probably be retained, with only 60 million shares outstanding Fifer can wring plenty of ''finders fees''and stock options out of that before the well goes dry.
oh,and one more thing-don't be pining your hopes of Fifer ''looking after the little guy''-just take a look at Copper which he sold out -for a fraction of what the board posters were saying it was ''really worth''and they ''wouldn't take a penny less''[they did]Anybody who bought more when the stock became free trading was left holding the bag.And what about that interest in Copper PTQ was supposed to retain?-gone....we retained nothing.
and thats the record.....now lets hear them say''but this time its diferent''because all they want to hear is ''positive'' stuff...lol
what I get such a chuckle out is the way these so called''professionals'' refuse to answer questions or comment on such reputable people like DetMcVitie who once liked this stock and posted here, but decided there were ''too many questions and not enough answers''so he sold out.[that was about the time CRDY was ''thanking the people who sold him their ''cheap stock''...over a buck...]Actually theres been a whole string of ''positive''people who came, claiming they had ''done their DD''and then left[I guess ''this one wasn't ''diferent''afterall....and now the whole sector is down, the bloom is off and many of he junior golds are fighting for survival[might be time to pick them up-the good ones that is]
Seems if they can't answer questions, all they can do is respond with a barrage of insults and comments about taking meds and insisting on saying ''her'' and ''she''.
As far as ''copy and pasting''-that could be said about the bogged down shareprice...
yup-they've been trying to convince me its a ''great opportunity'' for 4 years with no avail[please check the chart,it s not lying....]
the truth is painful ,isn't it?
''PMC is a broken record''-YUP-JUST LIKE THE SHAREPRICE....lol
whats too funny is how the starry eyed ''gold bugs''who actually think they are ''investors'' swallow every feeble excuse for the companies dismal record of failing to meet production forcasts, and if they have met a ''deadline''yet, its news to me....[the mining community isn't quite so naive]
I've said all along that if the BOD replaced Fifer the stock would probably would probably double on the news.I still have some hopes that FQM will take this over-the land is worth something to them, and thats why we keep holding the stock.I realise there will be cash payments coming in-but I have serious concerns about in whose pockets they will end up in.The shareprice isn't signalling any confidence either
A typical tactic of most Vancouver penny mining stocks is they are always jumping on ''new opportunities''rather than developing the one they are working on.This generally is done to keep shareholders attention focussed on the new venture and divert them away from the original operation which is not meeting expectations.Of course, the company uses this ''huge news''to raise capital and issue more stock[and finders fees] tell me it isn't so...but ''this ones diferent''-right?
been there-done that....
no volume?....easy-we haven't been ''discovered''yet....
its too funny-the ''positive''boys try oh so hard to promote the stock, kind of like ''what happens if you held a party and nobody came?''
whats even funnier is how they just can';t get it through their heads that I don't need to ''make up my losses''-I HAVE no ''losses''-I did very very well off this one-way back. The HIGHEST [and only]price I paid was 150 K @40 cents a share for Adrian....and yes,I took my PROFITS when they spun out Copper, and then of course ther was the special dividend I took from the holding company-another $200 K....why am I still here?-the holding company still holds an interest and my family who I told PTQ was a pretty good bet @.75 still hold it....
I am NOT ''in love'' with any stock-MrFifer isn't ''my friend'' I'm in this to make money-this is strictly business.I think the Golds are pretty much wrung out now,and picking up some QUALITY gold stocks are not a bad bet....PTQ I'm not so sure off,too much ''we anticipate'' and not enough ''we did'',or to quote DetMcVitie, who once was one of the most positive promotors on the board until he sold out at 90 cents and moved on-''too many questions, not enough answers''[funny-the current bunch of starry eyed ''positive boys'' don't want to comment on that,do they?]
the company apologists have an answer for everything-the only thing they can;t do is make the stock go up....like it or not, make any excuse you want-this company is not on the ''must have''list by the brokers, mining editors and you're hard pressed to find industry analysts who even bother rating it and all the ''positive'' rhetoric in the world isn't making one iota of diference.I agree, if you look at the numbers,it doesn't look too bad-so I suggest that only leaves one factor-lack of confidence in the management.sorry-this ones NOT ''diferent''no matter how much they would like to claim it is...its just another over promoted Vancouver Penny Mining stock, now fighting for survival
and if you choose to say''the whole sector is down''-just look back and see what was happening when the whole sector was up....we didn't participate...its been downhill ever since[check the 3 year chart]-except for the burgeoning sharefloat[and those lucrative''finders fees'']
now lets see if the current bunch of hot shots[the last bunch left]have to say -or will they just resort to the usual tactic of belittleing anyone who happens to check the record of what was ''anticipated'' and what actually happened...
I do have some empathy for the ''positive boys ''though-its got to really get under your skin when the ''idiot''was right and you were wrong [but still ''anticipating'']sure looks to me like the ''smart money''bailed a long time ago....
ps-being a contrarian,I do happen to think gold isn't a bad bet now-if you buy good stuff...
the ''we will be a 150K Mid tier producer really worth $5 by next summer ''was another example of the wild eyed pumping that the naive and the foolish were trying to get people to swallow-the company never even came close and the market didn't buy it.There were many such examples-and all of them flopped. But if the shareprice didn't go up-the sharefloat did-doubling, tripling-massive dilution
I agree the numbers look pretty good on PTQ-but there is another factor often overlooked-and that is confidence in the management, and no matter how you cut it-the market isn't putting a higher price on the stock, which if you went by the numbers alone it should be trading significantly higher[and sorry-the big boys HAVE discovered us].
The excuse that the ''whole sector is down''doesn't wash-this stock couldn't get off the ground in the biggest gold market boom in history. Now we're struggling against the tide
I've been a long time shareholder in this company-way back to the Adrian days-thank goodness I took the bulk of my profits when they spun off Copper-its been downhill ever since. What caused me to lose confidence in them was the long list of missed deadlines ,production estimates, timely updates and shareholders being treated like mushrooms-and anybody who has been around here for a while knows it.We've seen a whole series of promotors come on board-try to pump the stock-then quietly move on.The only thing thats new is the names...
The one thing that is consistent in all these Vancouver Penny mining stocks is the investor pychology-when the starry eyed ''positive ''boys can't answer tough questions-they resort to belittling and insults.
I guess its really gets under their skin when they were wrong and I was right-just check the three year chart.....[truth is-I wish I WAS wrong and THEY were right...]
thankyou for posting the number of shares the company bought back-but in the light of the tens of millions of shares issued, the paltry half million they ''bought back''fails to impress me-and from the shareprice, it failed to impress the market either.[check the three year chart, but don't shoot the messenger]
Sometimes you really have to chuckle at the way the apologists jump to the defence of management-saying they ''have better things to do ''than keep shareholders informed in a timely fasheon[one of the main issues that shareholders keep raising-being treated like mushrooms]
But the one that really takes the cake is trying to say failing to meet production targets is really a good idea...is this the best excuse they can come up with for failing to be a ''150 K mid tier producer really worth $5 by next summer''[that was several summers ago now]
and thats my ''one post''I'm allowed to post for the day-can't be posting anything that might be viewed as ''negative''.Afterall, we don't want to poison the board, do we?[it might make people think-and demand answers instead of swallowing the usual Vancouver Penny mining stock excuses].The only thing is-for all this-they can't make the stock go up...funny that, isn't it?
badge-you ought to know better than to ask questions like that-its not nice, they'll report you, this board only wants ''positive'' postings, not questions they don't want to[or can't]answer.
uh-sorry to sound ''negative'' but since the apologists don't want to answer the question''what happened to the sharebuy back program? that was announced with great fan fare-and then quietly was dropped.I'll ask again...what happened to it?
at the time ,it seemed incredable-there was no money, they were many questions about delays-some rumours about suppliers not being paid in a timely fasheon-and then voila-they announce a ''sharebuy back''
share buybacks are what a compnay does with EXCESS money, and generally result in a boost in shareprice-not this time-it flopped[why am I not surprised?]....
as Det McVitie[one of PTQ's solid supporters]said just after he sold-''too many questions, not enough answers''funny-the current batch of promotors don't seem too eager to comment on that ,either....
now I'll just sit back and wait for the pathetic excuses and strident crys of''agendas''[which I freely admit to-mine is making money]
if they are making money and recieving cash payments-then where is the money going?Remember the ''huge news'' that they were doing a sharebuy back? What happened to that?-the same thing as all the rest of the ''huge news'' and deadlines and virtually everything else that was being touted?..if this was an attempt to boost the shareprice-it flopped. The market-and the mining community simply isn't impressed. How many times have you seen PTQ featured in mining newsletters?[or maybe they ''haven't discovered it yet'']Now lets hear from the ''good ole boys'' who jump to defend the management and in typical VSE tactics when they can't answer tough questions they don't want to hear they resort to name calling and claims of ''agendas'']
And while we're om that subject-maybe somebody will be good enough to tell us what happened to the REST of the ''positive'' boys who quietly folded their tents and disapeared into the night?
what makes me chuckle is how everytime a valid concern is raised-the posse rides out to ''head em of at the pass''...so typical of people who have fallen in love with Vancouver Penny mining stocks-but ''this ones diferent''-right?
somebody suggested that FQM was probably more involved that we think, and I tend to agree.I have to chuckle when I hear people talking about what''Inmet has to do''or what ''FQM has to do''-the big boys do what they want because they have the money to do so.
Another scenario that hasn't been mentioned but has played out many times is the proverbial''big boys''let the little pissants put their hard earned cash down, take all the risk,do all the exploration and proving up-then one of two things happens
[1]the ''big boys''buy them out ,or more often
[2]the big boys sit back, wait for the junior to get into financial trouble-then pick it up at a song if they want to,for pennies on the dollar....been there.
the ''big boys''rarely take exploration risks-they don't need to,they buy proven assets-and thats the reason they ARE ''big boys''....
reZACKS report-.94 cents is a long way down from the previously touted''we will be a 150 K mid tier producer really worth $5''by next summer-several summers ago...about the same time we were told the ''deadline'' for the PDI spinout was ''next spring'' at the latest...
I don't care what sort of deal FQM puts on the table, the one thing you can count on is Mr.Fifer will look after his shareholders.Once the market makers who have somehow contrived to crash the gold prices have been put in their place-the POG is going to make its old highs look cheap-and guess who is going to be right there to capitalize on it.
MrFifer is a very astute businessman, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has been deliberately holding back on the production so he can throw a big chunk at the market when these guys who have driven the price down end up holding the bag. Then you'll see he has been looking after us all along-put that in your pipe all you whiners and naysayers
Fifer has ALWAYS looked after the little guy and we are really lucky to have him running PTQ.Its got to be really tough when people keep making demands on him,he is busy running a company taking it to a mid tier producer ,not promoting some Vancouver penny gold mining stock.I tell you-this ones diferent
couldn't agree more-we just have to be positive and we will all get rich when the big bounce back occurs. The drop in gold prices was all contrived by the Market Makers and doesn't reflect the real situation-the collapse of western currencies.Only people who hold gold will come out ahead,so this little blip is nothing.Fact is-PTQ is a mid tier producer and its really worth at least 10 or 20 X what its trading at right now-THEN the market will sit up and take notice.I figure $5 is really cheap and I won't sell for a penny less
Kudo's to the management team too-they really know what they are doing and are worth every penny they get.I just hope the idiots don't start ruining this board like they did over on Stockhouse by continually posting negative comments and telling people to look at the chart, everyone knows that has nothing to do with it
