Thursday October 11, we sighend the new lease on our new pilot location for the GotChocolates store model. This location will be used for retail sales, testing new ideas to consumers to see if they warrant further production and distribution.
As a working model for additional stores to be opened in strategic locations that are company owned as well as the training and showroom for our pending plans to sell a new program that allows individuals who want to go into business for themselves but who dont have hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy a franchise, this will be the first of many Got Chocolates locations.
Most franchises have up front fees of $250,000 (more or less) just to buy the name, and require the buyer to purchase expensive equipment by financing through that franchisor and in addition have to pay an on going precentage of sales that can be as much as 10% of the gross sales or higher.
People these days who want to go into business for themselves don't have the huge franchise fees or the means to fund a large equipment lease with the additional payments from sale to the franchisor which can create an environment of very limited income. I have personally seen the buyers of those expensive franchinses who are still working at their old jobs so they can still earn income with the hopes that the purchased franchise will generate enough money so they can quit their jobs year later and work the new business full time. Many owners I have met are still at their old jobs and have said, they wished they never used their entire savings and even home equity to purchase a franchise that they are now stuck with in hopes it will one day be successful.
What will make the gotchocolates program different.
We are not a franchise and people who want to open a got chocolates store also don't have to pay a percentage of sales back to us. And owners do not even have to purchase or lease expensive equipment. In fact the average franshise that can cost $200,000 (not including rent, equipment) can be used to open "10 Got Chocolates" locations.
How does Got Chocolates generate revenue.
We would be the supplier of all merchandise to each of the Got Chocolates locations. And each location will also able to attend local street and craft fairs. This brings the product out of the store to large groups of people who purchase the products like fudge and chocolate bars and also allows the Got Chocolates location owner to give out flyers or coupons for the stores location. By attending an average of 20 street and craft fairs each year, a store location will now have smaller pilot locations to sell from for significant capital that can be between $2500 and $15,000 from just one booth at a street or craft fair.
Additional sales include; School fundraisers, local civic fund raisers, party favors and more. This in addition to a full time retail location would allow owners to jump right in and get to work full time and not have to incure huge debt like a standard franchise.
The sales placed with Got Chocolates from each store can be $25,000 or more per year. At a cost factor of 33%, the gross profits on sales for each location will be 66%. Historically, EASTER sales for the month can generate enough profit to pay for the rent on a store for one full year.
Becasue we know three things in todays economic situation;
people want to own and work in their own business are more agressisive and determined to make that business work.
People dont have $200,000 or more to buy a franchise.
Everyone loves and continues to buy chocolates even in a bad economy.
For as little as $5000, someone can be set up with a full inventory of products, signs, advertising material and traning dvd on how to market this unique and fun way to generate revenue. All they need is a store or even a partial locaton to rent from. One customer buys our products and ONLY attentds craft and street fairs 20 times per year and has NO retail store which means ZERO overhead, and he takes off 5 months per year.
By introducing this program at business expos, we feel that this is the perfect plan that will allow anyone to go into business for themselves or even with a few partners, this way one can focus on craft and street fairs while another person runs the retail store. With a limited amout of money, anyone can make money, have fun and own a well received store in any community.
Even an existing store that sells cards and gifts, antiques, jewelry or even a hardware store, can add the Got Chocolates program to their existing stores sales.
We also will be introducing our products at various trade and confection shows where most of the individual store owners go to see new items to sell in their shops. We will introduce our program to them as well and even if the stors is already established, they still need to buy items to sell and Got Chocolates will provide custom molds and products for each stores individual needs. Also by doing this, each existing store can be marketed on our website that will post each Got Chocolates location and contact information.
We will offer the same program that TRUE-VALUE did to the mom and pop hardware stores with great success. This allows each existing store to remain under their existing name and business structure but also allow them to be a Got Chocolates gourmet location.
Even though most candy stors say they make their own chocolates, the do not. Even though those who do make their own chocolates, they still purchase items to resell that generate great sales that they can't or don't want to make. Even SEES candy owned by Warren Buffet, does not make everything they sell, even though people think they do.
This allows Got Chocolates to sell to just about every chocolate shop. (Google chocolate stores and 139,000,000 results post).
