Remember the Japanese company that has a contract with Amarin to produce vascepa but only after Amarin hits 1 billion in sales? Since that's not going to happen any time soon they could exercise the clause in their contract that cancels the deal and offer their production to the generics. They'd have to pay a penalty but I'm sure they would do that in a heartbeat.
If JT does in fact decide to go it alone in Europe the share price will halve again and remain there for a long time.
The 500 mg appeal? We haven't heard anything about that recently since BB hasn't commented about it as far as I know. Was it incorporated with the trial or is it yet to be resolved?
That article takes issue with drug companies doing exactly what Amarin proposes to do with vascepa if they go the generic route. The tone of the article strongly suggests authorized generics are a bad thing that benefit big pharma at the expense of patients.
I think this sums it up nicely. Will the last one out please turn off the lights?

I'm drafting Kaepernick. He's in Madden fantasy football now and will be a hall of famer next year. Should be throwing a ton of touchdowns.
No likes or dislikes. Bots?
It's diy but Lowe's has the cord. YouTube is awesome for diy folks. You might find a video there on your sander showing how to fix it and cord replacement is one of the easier fixes.
Replacing a cord is pretty easy on any piece of equipment I've ever worked with and should cost about 3 or 4 Amarin shares at Lowes.
Astra Zeneca's vaccine candidate just bit the dust.

If they don't execute Europe correctly it will be a two dollar stock.
Lol! Reading that I have to ask if you're drinking about 10 Amarin shares worth of good bourbon.
I'm certain it didn't matter what he said. The decision was already made. He might as well have recited Mary had a little lamb.
They think the reduce it patents are vulnerable and believe they can get the whole pie? Just thinking out loud.
There won't be an en banc hearing.
Nothing. Nobody.
Merger partner needed: Reply Amarin
Looking for forward thinking biotech with strong r&d team and promising pipeline. If you are nearing completion of a promising trial but need assistance with funding and marketing call us. We are looking for a synergistic merger that will propel us to the next level.
What I dreamed last night
Waiting to see where the dust settles then re enter. Looks like below $4 is a possibility.
It's an intriguing idea but has it been costed out? Pretty sure you couldn't compete with off the shelf fish oil. In fact a 30 day supply could easily run north of $100 even if they contained a reduced amount of V. Just guessing of course, it could be more. Since GV will cost less if you can get a doctor's prescription your market would be those who have no need for a prescription and buy fish oil off the shelf. Cheap stuff and once they read vascepa is derived from fish oil they're going to grab that instead.
He filed his brief nearly a year ago, apparently to no avail.
Trending ever so slowly towards what I consider a re entry point, 4.50. Not to say it won't go lower. When volume dries up it could drift down below 4.
On the upside, scripts will be out tomorrow.
Do you think the appeal for an en banc hearing is just to drag it out so mgt can grab some more shares?
Who? On what? You're not talking about Amarin obviously.
I'm pretty sure 3 Democrat appointed judges are not onboard with Trump's nationalist agenda.
Why for God's sake? 12 judges and 3 have already ruled against them in a spectacular defeat. They would have to get 7 of the remaining 9 to rule for them. The only way this makes any sense is to set the stage for a SC appeal. 1 in a hundred chance their case will even be heard there. SMH
Hmm. Yep. Passes the sniff test.
Kodak is lurking out there looking for an entry to manufacturing generic drugs. Only problem with them though is that their announcement they were entering the generic market might have been to score a government loan, which they did before it was revoked, and they are being investigated by the SEC for insider trading.
Meanwhile cytodyn is on a tear this morning if anyone's interested.
While I don't agree with you that Amarin has the upper hand here I hope you're right that there's still room for settlement.
My new estimates. 10% reversal. That's actually pretty high I think and based only on Reyna's dislike for prima facie findings and Hughes' silence. 40% affirm with a decision that rejects Du's weighting of secondaries and 50% remand with instructions to Du to clean up her mess. Chances on retrial are zero. The appeals judges, much like a PhD advisor instructing a candidate to strengthen certain areas of their dissertation to bolster their conclusion, will provide her a roadmap to clean up her decision.
One bullet between the eyes. Closeup. Do it while he's sleeping. More humane that way.
Can someone (BB) opine on the case that was not consolidated. What is the disposition of that case and what potential impact will it have?
I will buy if it goes below $4. Not before next week though.
They reject Du's reasoning, conduct a de novo review according to precedent and find that, even after reweighing secondaries that Du's decision on obviousness prevails.
Amarin will go into their shell for weeks just as they did after the Du ruling. Don't expect to hear from them.
Ravicher did have this to say near the end of his analysis.
Silence generally means the judges either think you're entirely crazy and they don't want to even deal with you, or they agree with you.
Given the current politics and China's reputation regarding intellectual property I wouldn't even value China.
My only question is what is the disposition of the claim that didn't get consolidated. Will that be tried or simply disposed of based on this ruling?
Read #294586. You will change your mind on Reyna.
