MotleyFool: "Heavy Metalico
Though the name Metalico conjures up head-banging and thrash metal, the New Jersey-based firm is a recycler of scrap metal, and has its own set of devoted groupies. With 82 CAPS players calling for outperform (and not a single bear in sight), Metalico is an overwhelming fan favorite.
According to our community, Metalico offers a nice way to play the trend of increasing "green" initiatives, as higher metals prices are bringing recycling back into the forefront. Just this past March, Metalico was named a Green Power Partner by the Environmental Protection Agency. Over the past three years, Metalico has grown its top line at a compounded rate of 44%, while delivering double-digit returns on equity.
The stock is up big year to date, but with today's 10% price drop -- caused by declining unit volumes in Q2 -- Metalico now trades at a forward P/E of 11.
CAPS player bluejohnnyd gets scrappy:
Metalico is tiny, and has a lot of room to cut expenses and raise margins. Over the past two years, the earnings have nearly doubled, and analysts are expecting a rise of about 25% next year as well. If this kind of growth continues, then it may be as little as half of its intrinsic value."

JVA...Looking stronger, I didn't think 5 would hold,lol.
It just needs a double shot of volume with a slice
of Entenmann's apple streusel.
I've been looking for S&W Coffee, hard to find in this area. Most supermarkets do carry Caribe though.Maxwell House and Folger's have the lock on shelf space with Martinson's and Melita fighting for third. Starbucks really put a hurtin on small coffee as far as shelf space. I usually go with the Eight O'Clock. Best bean for the buck...IMO.
MMM...streusel.
FYI...From the last Trezac 10Q:

I hope it improves my credit ability!
the creditability of this board is at steak when they start to show favorites etc.
Right, the i-box is not a political document. I removed the part that was essentially an attack on another poster... there were a couple of parts that tried to summarize board opinion (which really is not necessary but nice try)... there were a couple of misspellings (I just made up some words there) and I tried to eliminate your brutal misuse of the English language, Mr "Im too good for the apostrophe"
Thanks for the update and should you (or anyone else) like to add anything, just post it and let me know and it will receive my utmost consideration.
No satellite radio for me. I have enough issues already, lol.

LOL, Did it merge with the Super Heroes Justice League?
If so, I'd better take off this cape!
LOL, I'm all for determining truth and exacting justice
..as long as they don't stray too far off topic or involve a personal attack on other posters here.
FYI...whining about why your post was removed is definitely off topic here but maybe Matt can better address your concerns.

Q. What is a "personal attack"?
A. In essence, a personal attack is attacking a person, rather than a person's ideas. The written word provides wide latitude for the most fervent of debates: efforts to short-cut the debate process by attempting to discredit or disparage a person rather than a person's ideas usually fall into the personal attack category.

ALCO...greening up off a 52wk low.
Yes, let's call it an industry, cyclical by nature, lol.
ALCO seems to have carved out a profitable niche in several "growing areas"(citrus, sugarcane, cattle). Except for their ongoing tax burden, recent earnings looked strong. I'd like to see them liquidate some acreage and square off with Uncle Sam, at least get the bitch under control; they seemed to have underestimated their "tax exposure"
On sod:
"Revenues from the sale of sod were $0.6 million and $1.6 million for
the three and nine month periods ended May 31, 2007, respectively,
compared with $0.3 million and $1.0 million for the three and nine
month periods ended May 31, 2006. The Sod division generated gross
profits of $0.4 million and $0.9 million for the quarter and nine
months ended May 31, 2007, respectively, compared with $0.2 million and
$0.3 million for the quarter and nine months ended May 31, 2006."

Have a great vacay LadyB! Enjoy!!!
Ugh, don't remind me. Stopped out there 2x in 2wks.
LOL, that's too funny.
Wow, very nice...you make me dizzy, Fastlizzy!!!
LOL, Or give him a tour of the back 40.
Yep, undervalued and oversold. They do have a huge tax bill currently being negotiated. I'd like to see them liquidate some swampland and settle up with Uncle Sam...get her done and move on to greener pastures.
IMO
ALCO...reseeded and sprouting after a 2 week shearing cycle..imo
Earnings were offset by a huge tax snafu that appears to be a going concern for the next year.
Fear not, I loaded the swampboat with sod and sugarcane.
ALCO on the upshwing...
JVA seems to be on the cusp of a downtrend, imo. Looking for new fangled support levels.

Big sale on swampland this week, lol.
Get it while it's hot.
Or not.
The mod has a "side" and is deeply involved and not objective at all.
Really? Then why did he make you an assistant? Seems like a peculiar argument, sir.
Something akin to:
"I came here to attack someone but he's a board assistant and I keep getting spanked for repeatedly attacking him. Can you remove him so I may continue my unbridled smear campaign while the court is still litigating?"
God Bless America.
I have no time today, dude. No cell coverage at the moment either. You call.... I gave you the number! You haven't called them yet??? Give 'em a holler, who's updating the tear sheet on the Ship of Fools? Let us know, TIA.
Yes, it would be interesting to know which of those "executives" made that representation to S&P prior to the June 5 "load date"? Or perhaps it was a consultant for these fine men of arts and science?

Friggatriskaidekaphobia or a morbid, irrational fear of Friday the 13th. Therapist Dr. Donald Dossey, whose specialty is treating people with irrational fears, coined the term paraskevidekatriaphobia. Perhaps Dr. Dossey has an irrational fear of friggatriskaidekaphobia. Anyway, he claims that when you can pronounce the word paraskevidekatriaphobia you are cured of the irrational fear. I'd like to see the science, however.
If you base your belief on media attention, superstition about Friday the 13th might be the number one superstition in America today. It appears, however, that only about 10% of us believe that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day (Zusne and Jones 1989, p. 244, put the number at 7%; Vyse 2000, p. 18, cites a 1990 Gallup poll that put the number at 9%, and a 2000 survey by American Demographics put it at 13%).
Friday may be considered unlucky because Christ is thought to have been crucified on a Friday, which was execution day among the Romans. Yet, Christians don't call it Bad Friday. Friday was also Hangman's Day in Britain. Some even think that Friday was the day God threw Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden, which is unlikely since the concept of Friday hadn't been invented yet.
The irrational fear of things associated with the number thirteen is known as triskaidekaphobia. Some think that thirteen is an unlucky number because there were thirteen people at the Last Supper. Some think thirteen owes its bad reputation to Loki, the Norse god of evil, who started a riot when he crashed a banquet at Valhalla attended by twelve gods. However, the number 13 was considered a lucky number in ancient Egypt and China. According to a 1996 Gallup poll, 9 percent of Americans admit to being superstitious about the number thirteen.
There are several distinct reasons why certain days, numbers, colors, etc. are considered lucky or unlucky by different people or cultures, but the general reason for such superstitions seems to be to assert some sort of control and order over events that are essentially uncertain. Belief in lucky or unlucky things imposes purpose, design, meaning, and significance on otherwise indifferent and purposeless events. Confirmation bias assures that such superstitions will be supported by plenty of validating anecdotes.
Is Friday the 13th a particularly unlucky day? It could be, if you believe it is. Just as some prophecies are self-fulfilling, some beliefs are self-validating.
