yellow/clare: I wouldn't think 7/31 will come/go w/ nothing mentioned. The 7/31 date is the last date for the SEC to declare the S4 effective. IMO, possibly if it is declared effective by the SEC by 7/31 (or before), then that would lift the quiet period (correct?) and then possibly a NR stating that the SEC finalized the S4 (or maybe an SEC filing of some sort stating such - very green in this area - livin'& learnin') w/ a "heads-up" given to the BSDS shareholder to be expecting the "papers in the mail" soon.
I don't know but that's what I'm guessing could maybe happen.
I also have a strong feeling that next week is gonna be fun. We have three things coming together that point to it, IMO...
1) Stock chart shaping up nicely
2) Badgers out in force - WHAT A PILE ON the past two days!
3) BSDS - 20days - July 31 (can't trade on a Sunday ;)
mmmhhhmm, gettin' a little charged up here. :)
Still lookin' for a Labor Day Vegas Holiday Weekend!!!
LET'S GO N E O M ! ! !
OT: "The Dude abides." EOM
OT: DING DING!! :) EOM
spanky04: I repectfully disagree. They were all important and from NeoMedia themselves, all infringed the same patents...
"This is the second patent infringement lawsuit brought by NeoMedia this month. On January 5, NeoMedia announced it filed against Virgin® Entertainment Group, Inc., Virgin Megastore Online and Virgin Megastore (Virgin), charging infringement against the same patents."
http://www.neom.com/press_releases/2004/20040126.jsp
But, that being said, I do agree that this could have the biggest impact of the four.
The fact that ScanBuy is "out there" w/ the press and actively soliciting their "Optical Intelligence" technology to all sorts of outlets, even the porn industry directly IMO (too coincidental Xobile's LeapScan "Optical Intelligence" technology) AND the fact that this is the last one (Grand Slam? :)...this will all resonate in the minds of investors, IMO.
Drmyke3: I don't think anything like that is "required". Desired maybe, but not required...IMO.
St. Andrew: Please clarify. I've heard about you "saintly" types. TIA, lns
moxa1: SWAGTA...On my chart (novice chartists here) the "low point" was on 6/28. To me more clear, that was the lowest point (oversold) in over 3 years...3 years!
What that tells me is HEAVY pressure built below. And when there's heavy pressure below IMO that make for a bigger POP when it comes...which if things continue as is, looks like that could be in the next few weeks.
IMO, we're looking at the serious consolidation at this level and we ain't going down no further. IMO, if we do, it'll be a "break" like we saw on 6/22 where it closed back up to right about where we are now. But, since then (6/28 low), it's been a pretty much constant slow turn back north (exception...a few days after the 4th - what do you expect...blown expectations a la TS and a traditional "slow week".) Better yet, if we see a MAJOR "shake" like we did at the start of April...we know what happened after that. :)
So far, it's looking to me like slowly, accumulation is now occuring during this "range bound" time (.40-.50).
No worries here.
"The Dude abides"
Zacked: Tobin has helped many of us here by the mere fact that if it weren't for his "teases" of XXXX ;), many of us wouldn't be here today.
I'm Thankful for being here at this time. Never been in this early on something I think can be this big. Truly exciting and I can't wait to watch things unfold in the coming years.
Lookin' forward to Vegas, everybody! I was hoping for a Labor Day Vegas Holiday weekend, but heck, my B-day's toward the end of October so maybe then! :)
Holdin' Long. Livin' Strong. Lovin' the Ride.
lns
Interesting links. Thanx, aztreedoc! EOM
Dilidali: That would be interesting to find out. Also, if you can and you do receive your certificates, would you happen to be able to scan one and post a picture of it for us here?
TIA, lns

ruden: On the surface, it doesn't appear that WideRay's "system" touches NeoMedia's patents. NeoMedia patents cover the "physical to the internet". What it appears that what WideRay is doing covers their "JackServicePoint to the internet".
http://www.wideray.com/platform_hardware.php
Banks: You hit the nail on the head. EOM
cjzak: Actually, it was pretty much just a rehash and stated again the "10 bagger" deal. Now, if NEOM already did a 10 bagger in a relative short period of time (1 year), be nice to see that same time frame here again...maybe next year then NAZ it be! (If that were the case)
Damn, you go Steelers! EOM
pennyheaven: IMO, it's a rubberstamp by the SEC at this point if NeoMedia filed the amendments yesterday in response to SEC comments on the previous filings.
I can't see what else could be holding it up. It appears the three holdouts were laid to rest and now we've had two amendments.
It's either gonna happen in the next two weeks or not, if I recall correctly from this most recent amendment. My guess is it will happen.
BUT, that's only a guess. lns
Thanx, pennyheaven. EOM
Thanx for that, pennyheaven. Since it's not my post, would you mind if it got posted on RBB?
cloud8: IMO, the writing's on the wall. :) EOM
ifitlooks: No lawyer here but to me it just spells out more clearly that they DID get paid already some compensation (trebel damages???). The PR was a bit vague by just stating as "to compensate". A basher could EASILY have a field day w/ that because it's open to interpretation.
Maybe somebody mentioned that to management or they noticed it themselves and decided to clarify in this filing. Heck, they could've just repeated the same words if they wanted to.
Depending on exactly when they settled (not just the day announced) we could see the figures on the bottom line of the next upcoming 10Q, but I doubt it. Probably the following one in October sometime. But, who knows if it'll be spelled out exactly or buried in some other numbers. We'll find out. Bottom line is they got paid and patents upheld.
ScanBuy next. It would be nice to see three PR's in a row knock 'em out 1 2 3 ! I think we may get it.
Those plus LS folding will make it a GRAND SLAM HOME RUN!!! :)
pennyheaven: ScanBuy resolution. EOM
beacon27: IMO, they already are. EOM
javman98: Thanx for the report. POSITIVE! EOM
APD: Let's see here for a moment; I'm Coca Cola company and I have a choice:
1.) Spend hard earned advertising dollars to web-site search companies (google, yahoo, et al) paying fees to register words in a database query and retrieval system
2.) Pay nothing to them saving all that cash and just let end users do what they've already shown they can and enjoy doing-- finding Coca Cola through their local vending machine and grocery stores and entertainment venues.
Get with the times, APD.
What is NEOM's most valued asset? Patents. Oh, and they're proving to be solid as a rock.
Follow your own advice. What was that advice? Oh, yeah...buy as much NEOM as possible. Thanx, APD!
Anything you'd like to share w/ us, AirPocket, we'll entertain. Thanx for the support and that 10% on this past Monday! Can we go for a repeat?
AirPocket: Should we buy again on Monday?
This one's worth a repost...Thanx, success!>>>>

re: NEOM Word Registry
from a fellow primate:
I dont think people really understand what this pr means. Some think its a rehash of another pr. To get an understanding of this, you really have to be a little educated about the internet and how we got here. SAIC owned Network Solutions originally. Network Solutions was the original company that sold domain names (web sites).
SAIC teaming up w/NEOM to create a Word Registry is the next "land rush" for the internet...only this time its much much larger.
Years ago when the internet was still new, the way to get your own website was to go to Network Solutions and register a domain name. Smart thinkers new this and started to register nike.com, ibm.com and waited till the masses and these corps realized this, and then sold that domain name back to the corps for huge amounts of money.
Things are different now. Websites are already reg'd but getting to most of them is still very hard and the way is difft too (cellphones).
For example go to www.abc.com and get the link to their breaking news site... then try typing that into your computer, let alone cellphone. Well now ABC News can register w/ NEOM/SAIC the phrase ABC Breaking news, or ABC News. Coke can register the word Coke, Coke Classic, diet Coke..the possibilites are endless. One word, or a phrase of words can now direct any user to the directed site. No more typing in lengthy website address. Think of how Coke could use that in marketing.. "Just type in Coke on your cellphone" (pretty soon just say Coke) and be taken to this page.
Now that is just for trademarked words...this is AOL Keywords concept but for EVERY cellphone/pc user.
Lets take a a regular site that would use this. Robert Scoble, evangelist for MSFT has a blog that gets a ton of traffic. His site is http://radio.weblogs.com/0001011/ not very easy to type or say...with NEOM new registry, Robert Scoble could register a Phrase "Scobleizer Blog"...so anytime someone typed , or said this phrase they would be directed to his blog.
You can think of endless examples to how this will transform the internet. The fact SAIC is working w/ NEOM should ease a lot of concerns w/ NEOMs IP and also should let people realize how big this market could be for SAIC to get involved.
The market will wake up one day and realize it. For now, just watch as people that are NEOM shareholders are part of a revolutionary process taking place. Be patient, disruptive technology takes time to develop. The longer the time to develop, the greater the impact it will have. The internet is going mobile, there are now more web-enabled cellphones than pc's. Surfing, searching, commerce will all change w/ this transformation.
Me?, Im just happy NEOM is publicy traded and I CAN get a little piece of this transformational change... You are witnessing the next "phase" of the internet and its so much larger than the first phase....betcha the VC involved w/ Google guys wish this was a private co.

Mind boggling...the more I think about it the more I do think NeoMedia is gonna be absolutely huge, MONSTEROUS...much bigger than Google. With EVERYTHING physical that will connect to the internet going through their patents to get there (if it works out that way, which it's seeming like it will)...mind boggling.
This, IMO, is that "once in a lifetime" stock that investors always dream of "stumbling across". Of course, time will tell and I've been known to be wrong before (huh, SOG?) lol!!!
Investing made easy...one stock, hold it long and play the dips for steady income. We'll all be able to do it because we'll all have the time to intimately know this stock's movement, both on the charts and in the real business world. No need to clutter the mind and chew up time worrying about diversification...heck, NeoMedia will do that for us because it's appearing that they'll have a hand/foot/arm/leg in every industry...consumer products, media (music, television, movies), pharmacuticals, auto industry, gov't, military, banking, real estate...my gosh and there's a lot I left out there...mind boggling.
Then one day, years down the road...pull the plug and leave it all behind. I know, I know, not sound advice but I love to...
Dreeeeaaaaamm, Dream Dream Dreeeeaaam, Dreeeeeaaaaaam... :) lns
UPC/EPC and RFID...one in the same where NeoMedia's concerned. EOM
RFID and EPC/UPC: The Technology...
What is Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)?
RFID stands for radio frequency identification. It is a technology that has existed for decades. At a simple level, it is a technology that involves tags that emit radio signals and devices called readers that pick up the signal. RFID technology is a fundamental element of the EPCglobal Network.
What is the Electronic Product Code (EPC)?
The Electronic Product Code™ (EPC) is the next generation of product identification. The EPC is a simple, compact “license plate” that uniquely identifies objects (items, cases, pallets, locations, etc.) in the supply chain. The EPC is built around a basic hierarchical idea that can be used to express a wide variety of different, existing numbering systems, like the EAN.UCC System Keys, UID, VIN, and other numbering systems.
Like many current numbering schemes used in commerce, the EPC is divided into numbers that identify the manufacturer and product type. But, the EPC uses an extra set of digits, a serial number, to identify unique items. The EPC is the key to the information about the product it identifies that exists in the EPCglobal Network. An EPC number contains:
1. Header, which identifies the length, type, structure, version and generation of EPC
2. Manager Number, which identifies the company or company entity
3. Object Class, similar to a stock keeping unit or SKU
4. Serial Number, which is the specific instance of the Object Class being tagged
Additional fields may also be used as part of the EPC in order to properly encode and decode information from different numbering systems into their native (human-readable) forms.
What is the EPCglobal Network?
The EPCglobal Network is a set of technologies that enable immediate, automatic identification and sharing of information on items in the supply chain. In that way, the EPCglobal Network will make organisations more effective by enabling true visibility of information about items in the supply chain.
How does the EPCglobal Network function?
The EPCglobal Network uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to enable true visibility of information about items in the supply chain. The network is comprised of five fundamental elements: the Electronic Product Code (EPC), the ID System (EPC Tags and Readers), Object Name Service (ONS), Physical Markup Language (PML), and Savant.
Essentially, the EPC is a number designed to uniquely identify a specific item in the supply chain. The EPC number sits on a tag comprised of a silicon chip and an antenna, which is attached to an item. Using radio identification technology (RFID), a tag “communicates” its number to a reader.
The reader then passes the number to a computer or local application system, known as the Object Name Service (ONS). ONS tells the computer systems where to locate information on the network about the object carrying an EPC, such as when the item was produced.
Physical Markup Language (PML) is used as a common language in the EPCglobal Network to define data on physical objects.
Savant is a software technology that acts as the central nervous system of the EPCglobal Network. Savant manages and moves information in a way that does not overload existing corporate and public networks

I think the world will quickly get over it's skeptisism once they start to see the rollout of hundreds (IMO) of P&G "turned on" barcodes and they (IMO) begin their big media push to get people "clicking".
IMO, this requires a mega-company like P&G w/ hundreds of products and a huge market share and presence to get people to quickly realize there's nothing to lose reaching out into the new "medium" (m-commerce).
Then, of course, you got the "dark side" of Xobile, et al, doing their part and (IMO), before we and the world will realize it, m-commerce will be a way of life.
I can imagine that in the not too distant future, a company NOT being involved in m-commerce will be a company NOT experiencing the growth that their competitors will be experiencing. Just look at the internet and corporate/business websites. It's almost manditory for companies these days to have some presense on the web. IMO, an almost manditory presense for the mobile space will surely follow, especially after this .mobi extension gains traction.
Picture it...Mainstream products/services from the right, social/entertainment/sleeze from the left...meeting in the middle to make this thing explode around the globe.
I love a good fireworks show! Can't wait! :)
Steady she climb's, smoke20. Keep the updates coming, please. Love seeing numbers go up! :)
BTW, if I failed to mention before (but I think I have, but anyway)...
I am very Thankful for this board being created, the moderators for doing their job (passing out the meds and disciplining the loonies) and all of the positive contributions everybody here makes.
It adds that extra something enjoyable to investing with a "long" mindset in a stock, knowing that you're not the only crazy nut out there to take such a chance.
THANX FOR THE SUPPORT EVERYBODY!
Now, LET'S GET THE PARTY STARTED!!!!
lns
p.s. - the words to this are sooooo fitting...
http://arts.ucsc.edu/gdead/agdl/spee.html
LOL!! JP. I hear ya about time and patience. You know a bit of the story w/ myself and DJ about patience. At least this here is proving to be a fruitful wait. Try waiting five years watching a stock head nowhere but south with the last 8 months hearing no word - zip, zero, nada - from a company who holds some very promising technology.
That one is sad (and talk about learning a lot in the meantime) and goes to show that it takes more than just an idea, product or technology for fruit to be produced. It takes a lot of diggin' and pruning and living by the right motives to see that happen.
The "Golden Rule" is a good place to start...and end for that matter. Simple like that. We may fall down from time to time but that's when/where other like minded folks can be found to pick us back up, dust off our dirt and set us back straight again.
Being it's the end of the game for you with this one, don't worry. You got plenty of relief pitchers here ready to hit the mound and go into the extra innings to help the cause.
Have a great weekend,
lns
JP: I wasn't really "offended", like I said, just wanted to clarify, that's all. You're right, I don't truly know you but maybe someday we'll get the chance to meet and that could change, who knows. In the same sense, you don't truly know me either, hence your reply to my post regarding "Live8".
It's all good, JP. I'm glad we're all here and I really look forward to meeting everyone someday in Vegas and beyond.
Doing what I can to keep things straight and sane and fun when possible,
lns
Zacked: A time length required to be designated as a "long" holder of a stock? Who's authority is it to decide what that time length should be? Holding "long" an attitude that manifests itself in a decision to "ride out the storms" over time. Some have held longer than others, but that doesn't discount the "others" as not being "long" in their conviction and decision to not sell-out. That's like saying there's a certain age one hits then all of a sudden they're "old". Gimme a break.
You're either "long", "short", a trader or a combination of. I can be long yet trade some, like beacon states is his strategy for increasing shares a/ no additional out-of-pocket expense. That doesn't discount the fact that one is "long".
Screw the Thorazine and start passing the "B" around. Some people just gotta "chill-out".
Holdin' Long. Livin' Strong. Lovin' the Ride...(and trying to have some fun at the playground from time to time)
LONG (5 months and counting),
lns
JP: "true Longs"? I don't think you meant it the way it reads to me on the surface, but just to clarify..."Long" on a stock is an attitude, resolution or decision that one is going to hold onto the stock w/o selling out completely, for a considerable length of time...years. A belief that the company's fundamentals are such that warrant patience to reach full fruition of it's anticipated outcome and the belief that those expectations will in fact occur.
Being "Long and Strong" takes a lot of DD and a lot of faith.
It has nothing to do, IMO, w/ the actual length in time one currently has held their position(s). Going "Long" has to start at some point and that moment of conviction is only known in the mind/heart of the indivdual investor. Your "long" starting point just happened to be 2+ years ago.
I consider myself a "true" long even though I only first heard of the stock at the beginning of this year. I think others here can say the same thing.
Again, I don't think you meant it the way it came across to me on the surface but just wanted to clarify for the record, that' all.
Holdin' Long. Livin' Strong. Lovin' the Ride.
lns
OT: Thanx, success. EOM
SWAGTA: Can some of the experienced chartists here (glassy, kcgoodrich (sp?)) confirm or deny my read on this? Are we looking at the "perfect storm" setting up here or what? I don't think I've ever seen a chart like it. It just looks to be too meticulously set up.
IMO, we stay this course and in about a week from today we should be back up to .50 w/ the MACD hovering right around the zero line...heading north. :)
Can we say, KABOOM!?
PC "LAUNCH" by the end of this month?
The timing would be right if they can stick to the BSDS merger "deadline" of 7/31...not that I'm saying that's a definite pre-cursor to the "switch" being turned "on". I just don't know.
sidenote to illustrate possible "timing": "Vivid and Xobile will introduce the Leapscan technology at the Internext Summer 2005 expo August 5-7 at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, FL.". Also, for those that were concerned about the "negative spin" this could possibly bring to NeoMedia, first off, they (NeoMedia) are "insulated" having ScanBuy (IMO) licensing from NeoMedia, Xobile (IMO) licencing from ScanBuy and Vivid licensing from Xobile. Plenty of licenses to go around! Also, as reported, "Mr. Hirsch added, noting that age verification would not be an issue since there won't be any nudity involved."...not that one wouldn't be able to tell what's going on in those trailers. DOH!
Again, all this IMO.
lns
success: Out of curiosity, what was the last date and update that was given for AirClic, since that case is now closed.
TIA, lns
