cjzak: Can you let us know of the other word registry apps in the pipeline out there? I'd like to check them out and satisfy myself that they aren't a "threat" to worry about here.
I'm sure others would too.
I look forward to reviewing the list you provide. Maybe Dr.M can help in this cause too since he indicated the same thing.
You know what they say..."two head are better than one".
TIA,
lns
ss9173: Two things...we aren't the "bosses of the company", we're simply passengers along for the ride. Pony up and gain a 10% foothold of the company or get hired in a management or director position w/ them and THEN you can call yourself a "boss of the company".
The other thing is the notion that you think the moderators of this board can somehow provide an expanation to you that would satisfy your obvious discontent w/ the company. Obsurd.
All any of us have here are opinions. If you want an REAL expanantion you're going to have to email Charles Fritz himself and ask him for an explanation...straight from the source.
RonMexico: Yeah, it was getting late there. To be perfectly honest, news has been flowing so I don't really see any quiet period in effect from where I sit. I mean, I don't know one way or another if they're sitting on something or not. I just patiently wait for news, SEC filings and signs of life.
There's plenty of that around here.
Too much news can be suspicious. Not enough news can be suspicious. IMO, NeoMedia is putting out a well balanced amount of news w/ every month over the past two years we haven't been dissapointed. They always release something positive. Why? I see it as they're moving in the right direction and the latest filing demonstrates that.
This SAIC "revelation" that we're learning about in this latest 10Q doesn't phase me one bit. Curious about it? Sure. Worried about it? No. Feel misled by management for not putting out a special NR about it? No. Angry about it? No. Glad to see progress being made? Yes.
There are reasons they divulge info there are reasons they don't. Who am I to tell them how to run their company. Sure, I'm a shareholder and part owner of the company but only along for the ride. They've demonstrated to me to be honest businessmen w/ lots of integrity and plenty of smarts.
Investing is informed gambling and whether we get informed in the form of a NR or in the form of an SEC filing, as long as we are informed we are armed w/ the tools to make a decision if we would like to continue supporting a company by investing our dollars into them (or keeping them there). In this case, we were informed and I for one am thankful for that. When the information stops flowing, THAT's the time to get worried.
I think this technology is in the right hands and I, for one, am thankful to have been given the knowledge of them before they become widely known. And, yes, obviously I do think they will become widely known because I fully believe they will be successful in their endevours and as such they will, in due time, become profitable (IMO) and as everybody knows...
PROFITS SPEAK VOLUMES!!!
RonMexico: If I'm not mistaken, you answered your own question.
Isn't it that during a "quiet period" a company isn't allowed to release material news that could drastically effect the share price one way or another?
You said it right there, "I think the Silicon Space news was much more material than the Scandinavian ordeal." Hence, they probably didn't want to take the chance of releasing it and having some disgruntled shareholder try and call them on the release of it do to it's material nature having an adverse affect on the stock price. JMO.
On an aside...for those that are crying over what effect this SAIC "admission" will have on the PPS on Monday, don't ya think that it would've had the same effect if it were brought out in a news release at the time it happened?
Alright, now I'm off for some rest. Good night. lns
Drmyke3: You are obviously talking like a disgruntled shareholder who sees the latest information from this 10Q as lead weight destined to pull this stock down down down down...possibly to never return.
Use your smarts then and sell while you're still in the green if you think that way and get back in if things turn a bit more to your liking. JMHO.
Believe me, I don't want to have to sift through your litany of whiney pot shot posts if it were to ever drop below your average PPS.
Bring something substantial to the table instead of your tears and fears and visions of dread and dismay.
Sorry, but posters like you, to me, are in the wrong place if you can't handle the world of the penny stocks.
Investing is informed gambling and like it or not, it does take a little bit of faith in the words that management prints...and your making it quite clear you're losing yours. It seems like you'd be better off putting your money on the craps table because then the only person you'd have to shake your fists at gnash your teeth to would be yourself (oh, and the Man upstairs).
Good Night. I hope you feel better in the morning. lns
Please tell us who Drmyke3? IMO, for ANY word/name/tag/whatever registry to "work" and be usable across the board it HAS to be "ubiquitous". Why do you think the AOL Keyword isn't everywhere? You got it...AOL isn't everywhere.
IMO, the ONLY company out there in the market today w/ any real chance of pulling off a search ending, navigation changing method of finding information in todays mobile society is NeoMedia.
Why? Yup, the patents. There can only really be one ultimate contolling "gate" to pass through to get the correct link. Why? Otherwise, how would "CompanyA's" wordregistry recognize and take a user to the same exact location as "CompanyB's" wordregistry. For example, let's say Yahoo! wants to own the word "weather" so that people can simply speak into their phone (w/ GPS capability) to instantly get the weather stats for exactly where they are from Yahoo!'s portal? You're telling me they'll have to pay MULTIPLE wordregisty companies money to have anybody on any cellphone on any network anywhere in the world, connect to the Yahoo! weather portal.
It wouldn't be feasable for anybody to use if anybody could create their own wordregistry. This isn't search, it's navigation based on only one word...spoken, written or photographed...one word. There can only be one registry. Otherwise that one word can take you here there anywhere depending on what registry you're using.
The world isn't a vacuum and everybody can see the benefits of a wordregisty like described but the benefit of such a concept would be totally lost if entities that want to use it to get their "word" out would have to worry about making sure their first in the door w/ cash in hand to register their name w/ every mom/pop wordregistry that decides to spring up out of nowhere all over the world. Remember, it's navigation NOT search. No second chance or ability to scroll down an screen to the next choice...that's search.
Rember, it's navigation. Even if there could be many companies to choose from that entities could "register" their word with, there ultimately would STILL have to be only ONE "Master List". And, you'd have to pay to be on the "Master List" so that the other "hosts" could access that list and navigate to your website.
The point I'm trying to make here is practically if not definitley proved right now for all of us to witness if my assumption is true that Xobile's Leapscan's "Optical Intelligence" technology is actually a lease or licence of ScanBuy's "Optical Intelligence". (Incidentally, if it weren't and I'm wrong in my assumption, don't you think that Xobile labeling it's Leapscan technology "Optical Intelligence" is a BLATANT and DIRECT copyright infringement? And, isnt' THAT what ScanBuy countersued NeoMedia for?).
If it were feasable for anybody to come up w/ their own wordregistry then why, pray tell, didn't ScanBuy come up w/ their OWN wordregistry for Xobile to register their name with??? Hmmmmmmmm?
Follow the trail again Dr.M...
sexfiend>Vivid>Xobile>ScanBuy>NeoMedia
ONE WORD = ONE REGISTRY
It's late and this may not be the most succint post I've ever written but are you starting to see see the ridiculous business (non)sense it would be if it weren't this way? Nobody would engage in it. For a wordregisty of any type to be truly beneficial to the entire world (let alone one country) there HAS to be only ONE way of it working...one "MasterList" so to speak. Otherwise, it won't work, IMO.
That's the way I see it. All IMHO.
I gotta ask again...Who DrM.? And, of the "others", how profitable and widely known are they and what's the scope of their reach? Please don't give me AOL. They only reach as far as your desktop and dial-up connection anyway. Even if they went "mobile", I still wouldn't be able to SPEAK the word "weather" into my phone and have instant access to weather information wherever I'm at using their keyword. I'd have to TYPE the damn word "weather" into my phone. Unless, of course they were to "pay the toll" to "cross THAT bridge". ;)
ONE WORD = ONE REGISTRY

Dr.M: Not me and I didn't soley. EOM
kokonutguy: I edited my last post to add the lines...
"Well, that's what I heard here from somebody anyway. Yup, I guess call me a fool for believing."
Thanx for that,
lns
ALYNNB: I agree w/ you. NeoMedia wanted to be sure to get it right so they went to the pro's for help. Re-reading the PR about the NEOM/SAIC "Marketing Alliance", it reads as though that was it...it was going to be just them two running it.
So things changed. I wouldn't read too much ill thoughts into it. If Silicon Space were a shabby operation, yeah, I'd be a bit worried, but they're not. And, it appears, in the end it's all going to controlled by NeoMedia - except for the interface the user sees on the screen.
Don't forget, it's not like NeoMedia is overflowing in the personell department so it only makes sense that they leverage the assistance of a heavyweight to help them w/ the big load.
The fact that they intend to host the WordRegistry internally upon its completion suggests to me THAT's why they needed to move office space and take up an entire floor instead of just a few offices. Well, that's what I heard here from somebody anyway. Yup, I guess call me a fool for believing.
Silicon Space certainly doesn't seem to be a shabby bunch...

JP: hmmm, I guess I know now at least one reason why San Diego is well known to NeoMedia.
I see that's where Silicon Space is located.

Newbie_Long: Welcome! Had no clue. Interesting if nothing else. Thanx for that. Enjoy your stay here at the asylum. lns
RonMexico: I'll refer back to a post where I made mention of what I think NeoMedia was able to get such a seeminly "steal of a deal" regarding the Mobot aquisition...
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=7212135
Just trying to give a little perspective from my point-of-view.
ifitlooks: GNC goes the the same place too. EOM
GONEOM: Nobody's really sure where things stand between NeoMedia and ScanBuy other than NeoMedia is suing them for patent infringement and ScanBuy turned around after that by countersuing NeoMedia for copyright infringement and only THEN did they apply for their own patents. A little late I'd say. But, here's some more of what I think may be going on...
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=7171468
neom13: Nice dig. This ACE*COMM company and the fact that typing it in the GOWINDOW takes you to the PaperClick directory for the CoreOrganization is rather interesting. Worth further shoveling. Connections between the two??

Banks: Sometimes for me nothing appears the first try but if I just click "Refresh" on my browser it usually appears. A glitch of somesort, IMO.
matex: Got to the ScanBuy website and click on either one of the "Media Coverage" links at the bottom. You'll find him there.
http://www.scanbuy.com
woogerbear: It was great and very unexpected. I hope that's a smell of death you're picking up as I'd love to see a favorable PR on the outcome of the ScanBuy courtcase real soon. In NeoMedia's favor, of course.
3 down 1 to go. What's the hold-up??? (rhetorical question)
Let's go NEOM!
Mickey: I see success gotcha...EOM
Download leapSCAN Now! Somthing's "turned on" anyway. Now those guys are on time. They're debuting leapSCAN now for the first time this weekend at an "industry" convention in FLA and it's already available for download on a multitude of phones. I compared the list to the ones shown on the PaperClick website and although many show up, it's not a one/one list. Along those lines, the list of phones that PaperClick is available for seems to have grown.
Will next week be a fun one???

Anybody out there w/ one of the phones listed on the Xobile download site want to give it a try and report back? Try some regular known "turned on" barcodes too to see if they work. Type in some "turned on" PC "codes" and see if they work...like, "xobile" for starters. Just and opinion. I'd try it if I could but my 5 year old Motorola just isn't up for the task. TIA, lns
yj: Now THAT's a prediction! I like the backup...makes sense. Have a good weekend. lns
Zacked: What can I say. I try to take things not too seriously all the time and over that time I've discovered that I can find humor in many things that others don't. Of course it's practical, that's the funny part about it. Every month for the past THREE years at least ONE piece of "decent" news came out. Check 'em out for yourself...
http://www.neom.com/press_releases/pr_recent.jsp
As ifitlooks pointed out...it's not only a practical statement, it's a very safe statement (and funny too, IMO)
Laugh a little bit.
Have a drink (or more).
It's Friday!
Enjoy the weekend.

BrandHand: Strange, can't find anything on their site about what is behind what they do.
Meet the techies
If you want to know more about the actual technology and how it would fit your business, we will be more than happy to meet and go through the specs and other technical stuff that is too long or boring to print here.
Professional jaw-dropper
BrandHand is based on advanced, patent pending mobile media technologies that are more impressive the more into mobile technology you are. The usual response from top technology, operator, media and creative professionals is: "Can you do THAT? - we didn't know there's that kind of technology in the market...up and running". There is.

yj: smart cover w/ the 1 month spread. lol!
OT: If NEOM makes a move sooner than later, maybe we can meet in Vegas in time to coincide w/ some good music (IMO) that'll be in town.
http://www.vegoose.com/index.htm
LET'S GO NEOM!
Picksit: You said it, "...but his rep". In my eyes, he is putting his personal reputation and that of his entire ChangeWave Alliance's reputation on the line, BIG TIME.
Everybody who follows TS knows that it isn't a one man shop he's running and the opinions and recommendations that he gives are not his alone but come from the insight of many "insiders" across many industries.
By putting out this statement, "Let me be frank: This
stock represents the most stunningly profitable investment
opportunity I have ever seen in my 25 years of investment analysis.", he is risking it all.
If this doesn't pan out I think he'll see a MASSIVE drop in subscribership. Nobody would do what he did lightly. He knows something. How? It ain't no secret...insiders talk, hence the motto, "buy on rumor, sell on news". That's what his whole "ChangeWave Alliance" is all about...insiders talking. Maybe they don't divulge details and he isn't privy to highly confidential insider info, but I'd bet some mighty clear pictures are painted in broad strokes. JMHO
Guess I was off a bit. Sorry, pen. lol!! EOM
ifitlooks/cloud8: What comment was that? I pulled up the primate's site and it shows "1 comment" under the Xobile piece, but when clicked there's nothing there and it shows "0".
Do you think anonymous' post has been removed by vangorilla? If so, why would he do that?
Curious,
lns
OT: Tonguehair: All in good fun, of course. EOM
OT Tonguehair: Actually I did agree "dallaswa or no dallaswa" and so did neopathy w/ his/her direct "challenge" to me. Also, refer to ifitlook's previous post. There is truth in that.
Maybe you can take my place over there for a while?
OT: Oh, well. In one way I feel released and am glad for the rest of you (if the word is kept) that at least one of the Badgers will no longer be leaving droppings all over the place on that board.
Thanx for the support to those that gave it. It was fun for a while at least.
lns
Was that close at .40 on the ask? EOM
YJ: Team effort?! Just like family! LOL!! EOM
beacon27: Like I said, it's a curious observation. As mentioned, I personally can see right through APD's motives and for anybody to seriously want to engage in a conversation w/ him regarding the possiblility of NEOM being a total Pump&Dump scheme after all of the DD that's available here just strikes me as odd, that's all.
IMO, APD does not provide good, honest, valid opinion where NeoMedia is concerned. Opinion, yes. Valid, no.
Why do I think this?
I "know what I own".
Yes, there are many "alternative views" out there in the world, some are valid some are just plain wrong.
Over time I've gotten pretty good at spotting the wrong alternative views and don't engage them w/ serious discussion trying to understand their point of view.
Does my curious observation make more sense now?
Again, not a slam against you, Saint Andrew...just a comment on an observation, that's all.
Saint Andrew: You love neom and at the same time highly respect AirPocketDrop's opinions, slanderous statements and accusations that NeoMedia is a total Pump&Dump scheme. All for "healthy" discussion, I understand.
It just seems a bit odd to me why anyone who has such high regard for a company (you love neom) would dignify comments and accusations of the like that AirPocketDrop has thrown around here (and on his board) by attempting to engage in a serious discussion with him soley because he brings up "valid concerns" about NeoMedia management's integrity. Like I mentioned, it just seems a bit odd to me considering AirPocketDrop is as transparent (or his motives at least) as a window pane, to me anyway.
Not a slam, just pointing out a curious observation, that's all. Be careful about getting too emotional about your investment vehicles.
GLTY,
lns
snowblow5: IMO, they saw a win/win situation and they know that they're joining a group of winners. Just imagine the combined brain power of the NeoMedia and Mobot teams working hand-in-hand towards the same end goal.
It's gonna be a great relationship.
snowblow5: Any aquisition made in this "pre-heatup" period of the mobile/cellular/m-commerce sector will be made at very attractive prices NOW compared to after the sector is fully "heated up".
Reminds me of when Ciena bought Lightera (CoreDirector OEO switch) for a mere $500 million at the end of the "pre-heatup" period of the fiber-optic telecommunications craze of '99-'00. The next year (not even, I think it was more like 6-8 months) after the sector was fully "heated up", Nortel bought Xros for (GULP!) 3.25 BILLION!
They later canned Xros and Ciena is still going strong w/ CoreDirector.
Yeah, the next couple years are gonna be REAALL exciting in this space and we're right in the thick of it. :)
cjzak: I noticed the "In my opinion" statement this time in reference to the MSFT/Google partnership expectation of his. I don't recall him putting that in w/ previous updates. Just "CYA" I suppose.
OT: Oh no! Below .40 today?! lol!! EOM
