I always thought it was the Fed's responsibility to manage the money supply. Wasn't it Milton Friedman that suggested abolishing the Fed and just letting the money supply increase 4% annually?
I can't count my shekels yet, Pantera. My plan is to stay in. Hopefully I don't hold too long - like I have done all to often.
Holy Toledo, Mr. Energy - Cy! How nice to see this recent strength in CCJ. I hope it lasts.
Nice job, Cy. It looks like you will be at 40 sooner vs later. I just can't let go of some of mine. Although, I do have some under water that maybe I should take the loss on. Not inclined to, but something to think about.
Yeah, I hear you on the defense. That is why I would only do it if I knew the company. Good trading to you to! (Glad you made out to the good on it.)
its exciting to play those mis-communications. I was tempted except I know nothing of the company. (Never even heard of it)
Are you buying? TSRA
I saw on a list that USU reports after today's close. I did not confirm and I know nothing about the stock. Do you feel lucky?
OK, so I'm only a little dense. Up $600 would have been interesting!
I don't follow....is it just too early for me?
<<CHK - Short at 655.00
LOL! I show 200 shares going off at 344.01, 344.00 and 655.00>>
I'm glad your wife seems to be ok. When we get older even the not-so-bad accidents hurt more than usual. Hopefully she has a speedy recovery. I'm reminded of your sister - is she doing well?
Best of luck to you too, Cy! Here's to 40 on CCJ. :)
Donkeys? I thought they were skeletons. I hope you do good in GS so you can buy me lunch one day. Maybe it will do good for my ego to call my "seemingly" not-so-good stock picks donkeys. I can be a patient girl.
Cy, I hope to lighten up on my CCJ some day too, but at levels much higher than what we have now. Do you have a target in mind?
Thanks for calling me young!!! BTW, I only remember other's good trades and my stinky trades.
At this point I think I'm the only one still in CCJ. I never did anything with my position and I still think the sector is a good one. Maybe with the problems from the flooding I picked the wrong horse, but I can be as stubborn as you. :) Just haven't been paying enough attention to some of my holds.
Nice job on the DO!
Huh, I'm looking for the actual gismo to use to pick up the internet for some limited info and trading - iphone, blackberry, other web-enabled phone, tiny and light laptop, etc.
So it costs about 4K to install satellite to a van/truck? What do you do when you move from your site to have it track?
I am wondering the best solution for a handheld or tiny laptop for quotes and trading on the road. My cellphone isn't very convenient and doesn't do a great job. (Some of it might be operator error. LOL)
Newly, I'm not sure if this is what ajtj was referencing, but Verizon has a pc card that will pick up a signal so you can do internet. The problem is that it is slow in rural areas. I tried it out for awhile at my rural home, hoping that a nearby tower would be upgraded for faster access. For a mobile application, I really don't know what else you would be able to use. I also checked ATT's version of the pc card last year but it wasn't as good as Verizon's.
You don't think DO will reach 105 again anytime soon?
Hey AD, I like Harrod's campy speaking style, but in the (only) two videos I watched there was little substance. Maybe in the future I'll see what he's got going. I'm not a Cramer follower either, but what I see of him I think of entertainment. The thing I like about Cramer is that he seems to get people interested in learning about the market and taking control of their finances. Everyone makes bad calls. Maybe he makes too many. I don't know as I don't pay enough attention.
I haven't followed TBSI but I recall you having success trading it. After DRYS this afternoon, I'm tempted to short it, but that is an impulse short. Not sure I'll follow through, but I'll check on things tomorrow.
Don Harrold might have a point but the way he presents this without adding any of his own insight is useless. Is this typical for him? Seems like he is envious of Cramer.
AD, are playing DRYS into earnings? I have stayed away from this sector, but suddenly I find myself interested. I must be looking for a little excitement.
Awesome news! Thank you for sharing!
Your friend should have talked with you first before buying the funds! :)
Maybe the friend has more money to invest - dollar cost averaging and all - assuming they have a long time horizon (which they should have had considering the investment into funds). ;)
More people aren't as quick as those on these threads.
So, what did you tell your friend?
I should have guessed! On quick glance, the premiums look pretty good.
Terrific Joe, I'll check it out. Are you in it yourself?
Thanks, AD. All the solars to me are expensive and I'm waiting for better values. I figured that if I have a little knowledge and watch a bit, then I'll be better prepared for when those bigger dips come along.
I'm doing pretty good. Getting ready to go back East for about a week. Might venture into the city and try to get into a restaurant for 'restaurant week'. Hope you are doing well too.
Newly, SS Pro doesn't cost me anything. I think Cyber is the platform Schwab charges for. I'm not a big chartist and I daytrade only occassionally, so, it meets my needs. I'm happy with Schwab's customer service and that helps as well.
The little "w" makes all the difference too on CPNw. ;)
Thanks, huh. Now I remember... I was going to check more extensively into the thin flim aspect. Hopefully I remember to do that in a couple of weeks when I get back from my travels.
Thanks huh. I owned ASTI for a little while last fall and sold at the beginning of its huge run-up. Although I made some money I was bummed at how much I left on the table. I haven't looked at it in quite some time.
Do you like the stock from mostly a technical position, or do the fundies speak to you?
AD, wasn't ASTI one you followed way back? What do you think of its price these days?
Hi Joe, I have SS Pro and for fun I tried to get a quote on these CPN wi shares. Tried both CPCw and CPNWI and neither work for me.
Good luck with your trade.
I didn't realize that that was your business. I thought you made all your money trading. :) Hopefully the winds will diminish, kind of like my portfolio. LOL.
OT That sounds nasty, gt. Why not wait until it warms up a bit?
OT Maybe it's a good opp for you to do some snowshoeing too!
Choad, you crack me up!
