lango, me too, too far away
from Yosemite, a place I love. I had an agonizing decision last August when I was in Calif for a wedding. With five days to wander, was it going to be Yosemite or ... I went to another place that gets me high as a kite: Big Sur, which I also camped many moons ago.
Yes, I met and saw Lee Stetson's show about Muir and Hetch-hetchy, I believe, in about 1986-87. It was wonderful, reminding me of the one man show that Hal Holbrook did on Mark Twain. I remember trying to get it done in NYC, but don't remember why I failed. Before I read your last post, I was about to ask if Lee is enlisted in the recent activity on behalf of Hetch-hetchy.
Speaking of John Muir, I am reminded of the story he wrote in one of his books I have about his loving to climb to the top of the biggest trees in a violent storm, for the ride as the branches shook and carried him back and forth. Talk about loving nature! Or his climbing out on a ledge inside the water on the lower falls, and hope the wind didn't come up, driving the water right at him.
Nice meeting you, lango
This is old home week.
