There are a number of known 1715 shipwreck sites they could have easily gained permission to test on one of the many 1733 shipwreck sites down in the Florida Keys. I've been with professional companies that did that very same thing in order to test various remote sensing devices. Difference is, these people aren't professionals and don't learn.

Quote: Hey sctts, If another company put out technology that does NOT differentiate between gold, silver, copper and iron, etc, aka can't tell the difference between them other than not iron and that tech was made for something entirely NOT finding treasure on known wrecks, would you consider that "competition" for the SeaSearcher?

Show me validated evidence that the Tinkertoy does any of the stated things you say. You can't, can you? The whole thing constantly appears as a wanna be, gonna be clown town joke. Kongsberg Maritime is a proven high tea. company. Do you think if they saw merit in entering the field of sunken treasure hunting, they couldn't produce the necessary analytical technology? They're probably smart enough to realize that hunting and recovering sunken 'Spanish' treasure is a very dead industry.

Kongsberg Maritime is a known and recognized sophisticated company. One can find them and other advanced technological maritime companies in 'Sea Technology'. The sheeple are not even aware of this. When truly making the comparisons, one comes to realize what a Tinkertoy joke this SeaSearcher really is. Designed by people with no background in the marine technology field. A submersible toy with a umbilical cord connecting it to a spiffy sport boat (who ever made that selection?). The submersible toy has a 3D sub-bottom profiler and supposedly an analytical metal detector. Such claims as its softwares capability to determine, depth, size (all 3D sub-bottom profilers can do that), and ferrous or non-ferrous content is a claim that apparently remains unproven other than in supposed swimming pool or 'fish tank' tests.
Any experienced, professional company would have done simulation tests (as I had previously mentioned) on an actual Spanish Colonial period shipwreck site. This would require the burial of gold and silver targets within the wreck site naturally containing igneous ballast rocks and numerous unknown ferro-magnetic targets. That would readily prove the instruments actual capabilities. I doubt that was ever done since this toy's conception.
Thanks for the post which can bring the unknowing in touch with reality.

Yes, the weather is bad now but it wasn't;t last week. So what's with the 'today's the day' as frequently put out here, and what's with the 'next few months'? The weather / sea conditions will change again so what's wrong with the next couple days when that happens or even the next week or two? What I mean is that with this marvelous see all, know all Tinkertoy and all these already established targets pin-pointed, digging a hole in a day or two should be no big deal. Certainly these pin-points are some of the piles of spilled out gold and silver for surely they wouldn't waste precious time digging on more meaningless flotsam crap, would they? I'm really amused how its a continuous 'kick the can down the road' of excuses like 'The next few months' or can't wait until Spring'. The humor is unending.
It may well be a good day to go to the circus but I doubt this will be the day for finding anything. Small craft warnings. At least this kind of weather allows continuation of typical excuses for lack of success.

You are one hundred percent correct with your assessment. No reason not to hear overwhelming shouts of success at last. Suggest you don't hold your breath.

______________________________________
The explanation is really quite simple. Naive and inexperienced in the field of marine technology and zero experience in the application of remote sensing technologies in doing surveys to even find a colonial period shipwreck. Referring specifically to SFRX, in now over fifteen years they have never found a historic shipwreck, never worked a historic shipwreck and have never found treasure. Ok. So lets say even though persistent, that can happen. What is not acceptable is dogged ignorance in not acknowledging archival testimonial research facts along with ignorance in acknowledging and accepting the technological capabilities of proven remote sensing methodology that has found shipwrecks over and over again. Its like a student that just can't get past the with grade. He's not going to make it to 12th and graduate. This company apparently doesn't learn and move on accordingly. Definition - Amateurs.

As I've stated before and state again, the expectation the sheeple have is so naive and ridiculous. What you say is all so very true. If the Tinker Toy does what they like to believe it does, one target would be readily defined (gold, silver, jewels) and one 'proofing' excavation (as you describe) would tell it all.
Quote: Previous equipment was incapable of finding what has been found now.
_____________________________________________________
Really? You have got to be kidding. For the folks who read this board, why don't you attempt to list what the Tinker Toy HAS FACTUALLY FOUND versus that which previous equipment was incapable of finding.
Like I said before, its a joke. While, you're at it did the Tinker find any of the 34 iron cannons that the 1715 'Concepcion' was carrying? You always seem to be very evasive about those good old 34 iron cannons. Oh, but the SFRX pros. are only interested in the gold and silver, right? So where's the gold and silver. Like I said its a joke. Sorry but having been on successful surveys that have found historic shipwrecks, experience turns one into a realist.
Quote: how accurate past surveys with old outdated equipment are,
___________________________________________________
It seems obvious that you really know little, if anything about marine survey procedures for locating historic shipwrecks. It is not 'old outdated equipment' as you say. Cesium magnetometry still remains the 'state-of-the-art technology that has found DOZENS OF SHIPWRECKS (including renowned treasure galleons) and continues finding shipwrecks. On the other hand, the SFRX Tinker Toy has yet to find (provable) a actual Spanish Colonial period shipwreck, it has found no treasure, and frankly, I see no evidence that it has found anything other than going over a already known flotsam debris field. What a joke.
Quote: In my opinion SFRX's equipment is going to
__________________________________________
Always the 'going to be', 'want to be', 'just you wait and see' - unending.
I find it interesting how the existence of 34 iron cannons on or in the approximate area of this supposed 1715 'Concepcion' shipwreck is just conveniently 'swept under the carpet'. More than easy to detect with a properly conducted marine magnetometer survey. Also, I find it interesting how the actual research states that the 'Concepcion' hit a shoal and broke apart. There are no outer reefs or shoals where SFRX is playing their treasure hunter games. Flotsam yes, without dispute. An actual shipwreck site, tons of treasure and artifacts - obviously no. But screwing around with this see all, know all Tinker Toy is going to somehow magically produce a wreck that isn't there. Just my opinion of course, but remember, I've been there, done that on surveys with real pro's. so I have a little bit of that good old insight.
