Novarad was THE (first) major implementation of Glassware -
Novarad Selects Glassware 2.0 Virtualization Platform from Sphere 3D
“We have tested many of today’s leading virtualization technologies and have looked at a number of potential solutions; none were able to deliver the simple migration to virtualization and incredible performance that we get from the Sphere 3D approach to virtual computing.” said Paul Shumway, Senior Vice President of Novarad, “The first time we saw our products run on Glassware 2.0, we were sold “.

Ken Hess, how's the above for a third party independent review. A customer review beats the hell out of a bloggers opinion!
Corel was a BETA test. Certainly not "THE major implementation of Glassware". More distorting of the facts!
The previous AD drug failures targeted the symptoms of AD rather than the causes.
“Our approach targets Alzheimer’s disease further upstream and apparently blocks these disease hallmarks, which may be a more promising approach. Combined with earlier findings that ANAVEX 2-73 restores mitochondrial functionality, this new report strengthens our compound’s potential in Alzheimer’s disease to also potentially act as a preventative drug.”

I did a little digging and came up with this from the 2013 10-K:
Patents, Trademarks and Intellectual Property
We are pursuing three U.S. patent applications. Two of the three patent applications are based on parent Greek patent applications. There are corresponding international patent filings. The most recent of the three applications was independently drafted and filed July 12, 2013. On this most recent patent application, Anavex is awaiting a contractually obligated patent assignment document from one of the two named inventors.
Oh my gosh, that is so funny -
Thank you for contacting them.
Hey futrcash! -
ANY undoubtedly recognized enough bullish developments by mid 1st qtr to drive a confidence level high enough to PR a goal of over $40mm in revenue for 4th qtr, 2015.
I think we'll see some improvement in revenue already for 1st qtr.
It's reassuring to know that they are in such good shape financially.
"The Tandberg integration plan will be completed prior to the closing of the merger agreement with Sphere 3D and is expected to allow for a profitable run-rate exiting calendar year 2014, excluding one-time charges and stock compensation expense."
Cash and cash equivalents at December 31, 2014 were $4.3 million, compared to cash of $5.2 million at December 31, 2013. The Company had $4.9 million outstanding under its credit facility and $19.5 million outstanding under its notes from related parties at December 31, 2014. Subsequent to December 31, 2014, the Company received $5 million under its related party credit facility.
$4.3mm + $5mm = $9.3mm cash (great position to be in)
Sphere's $2.3mm cash burn for the 4th qtr no doubt included some burn for OVRL in December.
I'm figuring that OVRL burned through $.8mm in December and Sphere burned through $1.5mm in the 4th qtr.
With the OVRL operations now profitable and Sphere at a $1.5mm per qtr cash burn rate, Sphere has enough cash for at least the next 6 qtrs.
Plenty to see them through to profitability!!!
Mr. Kelly further noted, "We are pleased to report that we exceeded internal revenue projections in the past quarter, and we have completed the third phase of our integration plan with Tandberg Data. The significant operational changes at Overland will result in cost-savings of 10% to 15% (or $2 million to $3 million) greater than our previously-announced target of $20 million. The final phase of the integration plan, which includes recent organizational reductions and changes to our manufacturing and supply chain operations, is expected to positively impact gross margins going forward. The Tandberg integration plan will be completed prior to the closing of the merger agreement with Sphere 3D and is expected to allow for a profitable run-rate exiting calendar year 2014, excluding one-time charges and stock compensation expense."
Sure would be nice if the big seller ran out of shares!
Thanks for bringing this to the board's attention.

Contractually obligated sounds good. However, Anavex didn't use the same language in the 2014 10-K. This from the 2014 10-K:
The most recent U.S. patent application was filed October 20, 2014. Anavex is awaiting formal patent documents from a co-inventor as to two applications, and seeking one assignment from the same co-inventor to an application assigned to Anavex by another co-inventor.
Citrati, thanks for the detailed response. I am mostly a buy and hold investor unless I see something happening at the company that bothers me.
There's a lot to consider, that's for sure. For now, I plan to add on dips and will step up my buying if the price meets the 20sma.
The price action leading up to the binary news event in September will be interesting, as will the reaction to the news.
The phase 1 safety data was clean so AVXL has that going for it already.

Thanks -
The size of the AD market is staggering. It would be great if AVXL's drugs work as well in humans as they have in pre-clinicals.
Hi Citrati,
Anavex has a Purchase Agreement with Lincoln Park Capital. Thing is though, the share price has to be over .50 in order for Anavex to sell to them.
I made my first share purchase on Friday at .38. At the current price of .43, the RSI is at 75.55. I'm leery of buying when it's that high. Do you have any thoughts on this.
Lincoln Park Purchase Agreement
On July 5, 2013, the Company entered into a $10,000,000 purchase agreement (the “Purchase Agreement”) with Lincoln Park Capital Fund, LLC, (“Lincoln Park”) an Illinois limited liability company (the “Financing”) pursuant to which the Company may sell and issue to Lincoln Park, and Lincoln Park is obligated to purchase, up to $10,000,000 in value of its shares of common stock from time to time over a 25 month period. In connection with the Financing, the Company also entered into a registration rights agreement with Lincoln Park whereby the Company agreed to file a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “SEC”) covering the shares of the Company’s common stock that may be issued to Lincoln Park under the Purchase Agreement.
The Company will determine, at its own discretion, the timing and amount of its sales of common stock, subject to certain conditions and limitations. The purchase price of the shares that may be sold to Lincoln Park under the Purchase Agreement will be based on the market price of the Company’s shares of common stock immediately preceding the time of sale without any fixed discount, provided that in no event will such shares be sold to Lincoln Park when the closing sale price is less than $0.50 per share. There are no upper limits on the per share price that Lincoln Park may pay to purchase such common stock. The purchase price will be equitably adjusted for any reorganization, recapitalization, non- cash dividend, stock split or similar transaction occurring during the business days used to compute such price.
Note 7
Lincoln Park Purchase Agreement – (cont’d)
Pursuant to the Purchase Agreement, Lincoln Park initially purchased 250,000 shares of the Company’s common stock for $100,000. In consideration for entering into the Purchase Agreement, the Company issued to Lincoln Park 341,858 shares of common stock as a commitment fee and shall issue up to 133,409 shares pro rata, when and if, Lincoln Park purchases, at the Company’s discretion, the remaining $10,000,000 aggregate commitment. The Purchase Agreement may be terminated by the Company at any time at its discretion without any cost to the Company.
On October 23, 2013, the registration statement was declared effective by the SEC.
The Company incurred a net $73,787 in direct expenses in connection with the Purchase Agreement and registration statement. These were recorded as share issuance costs as a charge against additional paid in capital in the period incurred.
During the three months ended December 31, 2014, the Company did not issue any shares under the Purchase Agreement.

Sphere 3D and Microsoft to Showcase Virtualization and Cloud Solutions
Joint Roadshow Will be Held at Microsoft Technology Centers and Include Demonstrations of Sphere 3D's Technologies for the "Next Cloud"
http://rcpmag.com/articles/2015/04/01/containers.aspx
Docker isn't the only container solution Microsoft is embracing. Sphere 3D last month said its Glassware 2.0 Microvisor can virtualize infrastructure components and the application stacks from both Windows and non-Windows-based systems and claims it can "outperform" any existing hypervisor-based infrastructure. Furthermore, Sphere 3D said it can be used for systems and cloud management, orchestration and clustering.
It's still early days for containers in the world of cloud computing, but if they live up to their promise, they can raise the bar for performance and portability.

Very good news for Sphere 3D's recently acquired OVRL/Tandberg storage -
Demand for tape is being fuelled by unrelenting data growth, significant technological advancements, tape's highly favorable economics, the growing requirements to maintain access to data 'forever' emanating from regulatory, compliance or governance requirements, and the big data demand for large amounts of data to be analyzed and monetized in the future. The Digital Universe study suggests that the world's information is doubling every two years and much of this data is most cost-effectively stored on tape.

Recent collection of tweets. Pay particular attention to the pictures showing Sphere 3D's Glassware 2.0 having been newly added to Dell's servers!

This isn't just theory or "demoware," either. Earlier this year, for example, Google announced that Virginia's Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS), one of the largest school systems in the US, was buying 32,000 Dell Chromebooks, one for each of its middle and high school students. And the school system has decided to implement Sphere 3D technologies to deliver Windows applications to those Chromebook users. (My learned industry colleague Simon Bramfitt has written a great summary and analysis of how CCPS made its decisions and how Sphere 3D differs from other desktop virtualization approaches: "Chesterfield County Schools Turn to Sphere 3D for Windows on Chromebooks.")

Sphere 3D Launches Glassware 2.0 — An Appliance for Windows Apps
Simon Bramfitt August 28, 2014
Aside from its being a hardware appliance, it is its inherent simplicity that is Glassware’s first key differentiator. Provided you know how to plug in a network cable and assign an IP address, you can install a Glassware appliance. If you know how to install a Windows app, then installing and publishing an application on Glassware shouldn’t present any problems. In short, with Glassware, anyone can manage their own enterprise-class application hosting environment.
http://seekingalpha.com/article/2387975-panic-selling-turns-into-panic-buying-in-sphere-3d?uprof=45&dr=1
•Glassware is able to virtualize more applications (many critical applications are very hard to virtualize), it works where other systems provide no solution (for instance, old legacy software running on mainframes)
•The simplicity of the virtualization of applications, any Windows app can be virtualized with six clicks
•It's considerably more resource efficient, opening up the market for small and medium enterprise

The center also houses the support team for the DRIVE solution. DRIVE stands for Dell, Red Hat, Intel, VMware and Epic, the alliance of tech companies that began the collaboration to bring an open-source, Linux-based version of Epic to market that was affordable for smaller hospitals and clinics. Dell strengthened the alliance with the addition of Sphere3D, Agfa, Symantec and Hyland OnBase, creating the DRIVE Plus solution.

The reason why I think Sphere 3D is a serious contender is as a result of several acquisitions the company has made in the last year, combining Sphere's Glassware 2.0 virtualization platform - by all accounts, a revolutionary approach to virtualization - with V3 Systems' Virtual Desktop products and Overland Storage's global data management and storage business.
The target is the $100 billion Virtualization/Storage space, and early indications suggest that Sphere 3D's Glassware 2.0 is already displacing the incumbents in enterprise-scale applications.
http://www.midasletter.com/midas-letter-financial-radio-podcast/sphere-3d-corp-vs-vmware-citrix-systems-microsoft/
Damian Wojcichowsky: I don’t think we’re talking about the same market per se at first. VMware and Sphere 3D right now are actually partners. So where VMware has a customer that requires the kind of functionality that Glassware 2.0 brings via Sphere 3D, they can partner there, so they can embed Glassware into the sale, and kick back a royalty or a license fee to Sphere 3D. I don’t see them competing for the same kind of customers. I think what you see is a lot smaller size of enterprise that you get Overland-Sphere approaching, versus the big enterprise deal that you see EMC-VMware do. So at first its not going to be that difficult. I think five years down the road you’re looking at more of a head-to head competition situation happening.
Shorter term though, you’re going to have a bunch of catalysts coming.

Sphere3D has two key product offerings behind it: GLASSWARE 2.0 and the V3 Desktop Cloud Computing System. With GLASSWARE 2.0, users get access to the complete lineup of digital content found on most any desktop from most any Web-enabled device. This may not sound like much until the fullest implications of the idea are considered, as GLASSWARE 2.0 allows access to not only the full range of productivity software systems, but also to things like computer aided design (CAD) systems, proprietary systems, and even social media sites. Plus, at last report, all of the sites will both look and function the same way on mobile devices that said sites would on the desktop thanks to GLASSWARE 2.0.

Chesterfield County Schools Turn to Sphere 3D for Windows on Chromebooks.
Taking on the complexity of managing a large Citrix XenApp environment was not something that CCPS wanted to have to address. At the same time, it wanted to ensure that any hosted Windows applications could be easily integrated into its own application portal. To overcome the challenges, CCPS has partnered with Mississauga, Ontario–based Sphere 3D, developers of Glassware 2.0, to provide Windows application hosting services. Sphere 3D provides Glassware 2.0 as an appliance-based hosting platform for installation either within a customer’s data center or as a cloud hosting solution offered by service providers. Sphere 3D company V3 Systems was one of the pioneers of high-performance VDI appliances, so it is to be expected that it knows how to make this approach work.
http://www.midasletter.com/2014/06/sphere-3d-overland-storage-merger-sets-emc-corporation-vmware-repetition/
There is little doubt that much of the velocity in Sphere 3D’s share price is driven by technology speculators who perceive the opportunity inherent in the timing of companies, managment and products converging within the Sphere 3D universe. My bet is that the combination of these elements under Sphere 3D’s managment will result in an exponential compounding of shareholder value quarter-on-quarter once the intergrations are complete and Overland Storage’s sales force is unleashed on its client base with the new offerings.
http://www.midasletter.com/midas-letter-financial-radio-podcast/sphere-3d-corp-tsx-vany-peter-tassiopoulos-podcast/
Peter Tassiopoulos: Absolutely. The transaction quickly transitions Sphere into a global enterprise. We will actually have operations in the U.S., Norway, Germany, Singapore, and Asia. In addition, we’ll have direct access to 17,000 resellers in 60 countries, and infrastructure that’s been built over thirty years to support them. As for the synergies, there’s quite a few.. it’s actually too numerous to go through all of them. But just a couple of highlights; you know Overland has providing storage for over thirty years as I mentioned, and because of this they’ve got a really large installed base. Actually over a million units have been deployed. Many of these are customers that run complex enterprise apps, and that’s specifically what Glassware is designed for. Now one of the largest purchasers of IT as well is the U.S. government, and Overland has a number of GSA’s [Government Service Agencies –ed] in place with them so that’s direct access into the government which we otherwise wouldn’t have.

“The future of cloud is in taking the concept of virtualization beyond the backing up of data or the incorporation of additional systems,” says Peter Bookman, founder of virtualization company V3, recently acquired by Sphere3D. (Disclosure: Peter Bookman is a friend and was a client in 2010 and 2011; however we have no current business relationship.) “In our product lines we bring virtual desktops, virtual applications, and data together in a single solution to let companies of any size use virtual resources to manage their physical desktops, rich applications, and business information.”

http://www.virtualizationpractice.com/happy-birthday-citrix-now-get-back-work-26248/
One possible opportunity here lies with Toronto-based Sphere 3D and Glassware. I had the opportunity for a brief look at Glassware last week, and I hope to be able to return for a more detailed assessment in the near future. In many respects, Glassware is to XenApp as VDI in a Box is to XenDesktop: a fresh approach to virtual applications, built from the ground up with an emphasis on the hypervisor as a means of achieving virtualization, rather than as a platform on which to run multiple operating system instances.
Glassware’s promise is not just that it is a legacy-free interpretation of conventional terminal services technology, but that it can take this approach to deliver more than just Windows applications. Demonstrating seamless delivery of Windows x86 applications alongside Android and Fortran apps on iPad is going to take more than one brief introduction to come to grips with. Nevertheless, if execution is as effective as the promise, this could be a technology to keep a close eye on.
http://seekingalpha.com/article/2142003-sphere-3d-a-disruptive-cloud-technology-player
Sphere 3D Corporation (TSX: ANY.V) (OTCQX: OTCQX:SPIHF) is a unique virtualization technology solution provider that has described itself as a company that "solves the problems that previously were considered unsolvable". What problems are there in virtualization? Plenty! Sphere 3D allows most devices, independent of their size, resources or operating system, to access the full functionality of software programs and applications off from servers either in the cloud or on premise, absolutely independent of their operating system! A short video on Youtube presents Sphere 3d's solutions in a graphical way.
In fact, its Glassware 2.0(TM) technology makes it possible for today's devices to access yesterday's software; for today's software to run on tomorrow's devices all over the cloud, without sacrificing performance or security. The company has built their proprietary Glassware 2.0 platform from the ground up and specifically designed it to achieve application virtualization in the most demanding of circumstances. It can be deployed alone for application virtualization or utilized in conjunction with third party hypervisor-based virtualization deployments, for true end-to-end virtualization of physical infrastructure. For additional information visit sphere3d.com and have a look to the presentation made by Peter Tassiopoulos during the CANTECH Investment Conference held in Toronto last January.
Under Requirements there is an option -
Bid Price $4
OR
Closing Price** $2
I left that out because they would be qualifying under the closing price alternative (which is $2.00), not the bid price alternative.
** To qualify under the closing price alternative, a company must have: (i) average annual revenues of $6 million for three years, or (ii net tangible assets of $5 million, or (iii) net tangible assets of $2 million and a 3 year operating history, in addition to satisfying the other financial and liquidity requirements listed above.
Here's the minimum requirement for up listing to the Nasdaq under the Market Value of Listed Securities Standard
CTIX will have no trouble qualifying, IMO.
Stockholders Equity = $4mm (CTIX has over $7mm as of 12/31/14)
Market Value of Publicly Held Shares = $15mm
Operating History = ---- (no requirement)
Market Value of Listed Securities = $50mm
Net Income from Continuing Operations (in the latest fiscal year or in two of the last three fiscal years) = ---- (no requirement)
Publicly Held Shares = 1mm
Shareholders (round lot holders) = 300
Market Makers = 3
Closing Price** = $2.00
** To qualify under the closing price alternative, a company must have: (i) average annual revenues of $6 million for three years, or (ii net tangible assets of $5 million, or (iii) net tangible assets of $2 million and a 3 year operating history, in addition to satisfying the other financial and liquidity requirements listed above.
https://listingcenter.nasdaqomx.com/assets/initialguide.pdf
Fidelity lists the number of employees at 9. I don't know how up to date that is. I know CTIX added some employees from Kard and added a few more since then.
As far as I know, the only work being done outside of CTIX is the following grant funded research -
Elsewhere in our extensive pipeline, we and/or our partners have conducted very promising research that supports additional clinical trials that we plan to focus on in the future. Namely, we are developing formulations for ophthalmic, otic and diabetic foot infections. We have a growing body of evidence to the potential efficacy of our HDP mimetic compounds for the treatment of Gram-negative bacteria and fungal pathogens. In light of the awareness and government initiatives to develop new drugs to stop so-called "superbugs" that are resistant to most or all of today's therapies, compounds addressing multi-drug resistant bacterial and fungal diseases and conditions are extremely valuable and of high profile today. We have disclosed that research, much of which is conducted under government grants at a major university in Texas and by Fox Chase Chemical Diversity Center.
I am very pleased with today's PR. It gave us a lot of information and highlighted many near term events -
The protocol safety committee met on April 13, 2015 to review data for patients treated in the 450 mg/m2 cohort and recommended that the next cohort receive Kevetrin doses of 750 mg/m2 (a 67% increase in dose and 75x the initial dose).
Further, Kevetrin appears to be having the expected effects on p53 in a number of the patients treated, as measured by increases in the levels of the downstream protein p21 biomarker. According to the latest data, over 50% of patients treated have had increases in the p21 marker. In addition, the effect on p53/p21 appears to be dose-dependent, with patients treated in the cohorts receiving 350 and 450 mg/m2 of Kevetrin showing greater increases in levels of p21. At this time, the Company is saving the full p21 results for an appropriate scientific venue.
We are pleased to report we have been notified that based upon the data from the Phase 1 study, the original protocol has been revised and expanded from what was originally planned to be a Phase 1b study into a Phase 2 trial evaluating Kevetrin as a single agent or in combination with cytarabine in patients with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML).
We anticipate meeting with the FDA for an End-of-Phase 2 meeting in late June 2015. Upon the FDA accepting our proposals, we will commence Phase 3 trials of Brilacidin for ABSSSI.
The FDA accepted our Investigational New Drug application in October 2014 to begin the trial. Since that time, we made modifications to target specific investigator sites having significant experience in conduct of this type of study and ultimately doubled the original number of planned sites to expedite recruitment. We expect subject enrollment in this trial to commence in May.
We hope to initiate a Phase 2 trial in 2015 to expand into the lucrative GI markets, with the potential for additional trials targeting ulcerative colitis, Crohn's Disease and other conditions where today's treatment options are very limited in effectiveness.
We expect enrollment to begin in 2Q 2015. We are engaging the trial at more clinical sites than originally planned and expect to make up for lost time as the manufacturing process took longer then expected. Given that psoriasis is a chronic condition with limited effective therapies that the National Psoriasis Foundation lists as affecting 125 million people worldwide, we see a tremendous market opportunity for an effective new oral treatment. We expect enrollment in this study to be completed during 2015.
After careful consideration, we have now cancelled a scheduled May pre-IND meeting with the FDA to discuss initiating a Phase 2 trial for HS. We believe it is a more prudent use of resources to expand upon on our more advanced compounds at this time. After the start of our other Phase 2 trials, and as we can devote more resources specifically to an HS therapy, we will return to advancing this project toward the clinic.
Our NASDAQ application is in process. We made our selections and now received confirmation of acceptance of positions for new members to the Company's Board of Directors and committees required to move to the NASDAQ exchange. This information has been prepared in the form of an 8-K filing for submission to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and is currently being reviewed by our SEC counsel. Under guidance of our legal counsel, we will be publicly releasing this information simultaneously with the 8-K submission.
"There are many exciting developments ongoing at Cellceutix, both at the corporate level and from a drug development perspective," commented Leo Ehrlich, Chief Executive Officer at Cellceutix. Majority of independent board members. Nasdaq requires that a majority of the board of directors of a listed company be "independent," unless the company is a controlled company (as defined above), a management investment company registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, or a limited partnership. Although controlled companies and limited partnerships are not required to have a majority of independent directors, such companies remain subject to the independent audit committee requirements discussed below. Nasdaq companies that are foreign private issuers are also required to have a majority of independent directors and comply with the other corporate governance rules generally applicable to other Nasdaq companies.

Correction on the OVRL operations; profitable, rather than break even exiting calendar year 2014, excluding one-time charges and stock compensation expense -
Read the press releases!
OVRL has stated, on least 2 occasions, that they will be break even, excluding non-cash items, entering 2015.
Sphere's $2.3mm cash burn for the 4th qtr no doubt included some burn for OVRL in December.
I'm figuring that OVRL burned through $.8mm in December and Sphere burned through $1.5mm in the 4th qtr.
With the OVRL operations now neutral and Sphere at a $1.5mm per qtr cash burn rate, Sphere has enough cash for the next 6 qtrs.
Plenty to see them through to profitability!!!
It hurts right now but these wild price swings are the nature of micro-cap investing, and why investors need to have a long term objective.
I am taking a look at this company and am trying to figure out what earnings will look like after the mine is operating. My back of napkin figures don't look good. Am I being too pessimistic?
EBITDA = 177mm
earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (used as an indicator of the overall profitability of a business).
If NB borrows 70% of 919mm = 643mm
10% interest on 643mm = 64.3mm annually
177mm minus 64.3mm = 112.7mm annual earnings
probably no taxes to pay for 9 years to re-coup start up investment
NB would have to sell stock to raise 30% of 919mm = 276mm
An offering at $1.00 per share would result in an additional 276mm shares outstanding and probably another 276mm warrants. The warrants would hopefully bring in $1.25 per warrant but not add to earnings.
112.7mm annual earnings / ~750mm shares = .15 per share
An offering at $2.00 per share would result in an additional 138mm shares and 138mm warrants.
112.7mm annual earnings / ~475mm shares = .24 per share

Although the Glassware 2.0 Protocol is a truly protean piece of technology that can be used for a variety of purposes, we decided that the largest and most easily attacked market is virtualizing Windows applications that currently do not virtualize at all using current technology or virtualize in such an inefficient way as to be considered unfeasible either technically or financially. We can virtualize any application written for any version of Windows in a cost-effective way.

Agree. There are networks of shorts that like to attack a young, thinly traded stock which is held mostly by retail. They do their hit pieces and drive the share price down, cover, then short again after the price rises.
It has nothing to do with fundamentals, but, sometimes they get caught and punished = TSLA.
The shorts that ride ANY for too long will be punished.
ANY has a BIG future.
TSLA was heavily shorted from $30 to $280. Ask the shorts why they did that.
