Personally, I draw the line at self-driving cars...& IT-linked vehicles as well...
I see no value in having my cars' vital functions hacked by desperados ;(

That's the ticket John, a real game-changer ;)
Would be plenty sweet if that were their goal & they managed to pull it off.
Would blow-away ancillary QD component suppliers & kneecap the OLED sector as well.
'Any' level, at all ;)

This was inevitable...BigElectric is in danger of going the way of the typewriter, but has grown accustomed to their exorbitant profit margins & isn't about to go down without a fight. Some agencies are smarter & more proactive in embracing the new technologies, while the majority still prefer to live in the past. But the old-guard still has a great deal of muscle & political clout (political stooges at their beck & call), so this changeover will undoubtedly take much longer than it needs to...but it 'will happen', one way or another.
Too-OLD...70 in December. They paved-over the Redline tracks in 1951 when I was 6, but I remember ;)
Long-Distance Teleportation and Quantum Entanglement achieved:
http://spectrum.ieee.org/tech-talk/computing/networks/researchers-achieve-teleportation-over-134-km-and-entanglement-at-multiple-quantum-levels-with-twisted-photons
Yes they did...paved over by the oil barons & their political stooges. I recall the redline trollies in L.A. & LongBeach, back when I was a little kid & still get a kick out of the trollies in SanFrancisco to this day.
Good to see increasing focus in the battery sector...perhaps someday, with all this interest, they'll at last be able to make some 'significant' progress in storage capabilities. As it stands, battery power tech isn't that much further along than it was 100yrs ago...the 200 mile range of this 1914 Detroit Electric car is more than 1/2 of the maximum range of todays best E-cars: http://www.detroitelectric.org/ Sure no Moores Law thing going on there...but then, if you take into account the 90yr slumber in battery research (due to the advent of cheap petroleum), maybe the best is yet to come. Here's a good read on the interesting history of the electric car...including a lot of deja vu...battery exchange programs (like Tesla is exploring now) , gas/electric hybrids & an all-wheel drive E-Porsche hybrid from 115yrs ago...all seeing a rebirth here in 2015: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lohner-Porsche

Fair-enough, I'll go with that, except for the ; "50,000,000 x 100 = 50 mil" part...
my math puts that equation at 5B, but then, math never was my strong suit ;)
Thx for your thoughtful-knowledgeable perspectives, I find them helpful.
