SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DRUG REHAB CENTER IS OFFERING FREE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT SERVICES TO VETERANS RETURNING FROM IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN
MURRIETA, Calif., Dec. 12, 2007 ? A Southern California drug and alcohol rehab center has begun offering free outpatient treatment services to veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
“We think this is the right thing to do, particularly given the strong correlation between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and drug or alcohol addiction and the fact that the federal government is failing to take care of its wounded veterans in a timely manner,” said Charles Anderson, CEO of A Better Tomorrow, a drug and alcohol treatment center based in Murrieta, Calif.
A Better Tomorrow will provide free outpatient treatment services as space permits on a first come, first served basis an act of community service, Anderson said, adding that the service will be offered to veterans on an ongoing basis. The clinic’s typical outpatient treatment program includes three, three-hour sessions of treatment per week for six weeks.
“It’s unfortunate that veterans are still unable to get the timely healthcare services they need from the VA,” said Velma Hart, chief financial officer for AMVETS, one of the nation’s largest veterans service organizations. “But we are grateful that clinics like A Better Tomorrow are reaching out to veterans to help them in their time of need. We hope other drug and alcohol rehab centers across the country follow A Better Tomorrow’s example.”
Anderson said A Better Tomorrow decided to start offering the free service after a recent series of network news reports documenting a growing incidence of addiction to illegal drugs among veterans returning from service overseas.
The Pentagon also issued a report last month indicating that nearly a third of returning U.S. troops had signs of depression, PTSD, conflicts in relationships or other problems within six months of completing their service. It has also been widely reported that between 30 and 60 percent of people with PTSD will abuse drugs or alcohol to seek relief from their depression, anxiety and other ill feelings.
“Given these statistics, we think our outpatient treatment services will be very helpful to veterans who can’t get the mental health treatment they need because of the incessant bureaucratic delays, inefficiencies and staffing problems involving medical facilities operated by the federal Department of Veterans Affairs,” Anderson said.
Indeed, the VA’s healthcare system has been overwhelmed by veterans returning from service overseas for many years, yet neither Congress nor the VA have committed the necessary resources to address these problems. Congress, in fact, has yet to even provide mandatory funding for VA healthcare. Consequently, the VA is forced to ration healthcare rather than provide it as needed to every veteran who requires it.
Based in Murrieta, Calif., A Better Tomorrow has the highest level of accreditation that can be obtained by a drug or alcohol treatment center. The clinic is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), placing it in the top 5 percent of drug and alcohol treatment clinics in California. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DRUG REHAB CENTER OFFERS FREE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT SERVICES TO MILITARY VETERANS WHO HAVE RECENTLY RETURNED FROM ACTIVE DUTY
A Better Tomorrow Treatment Center Inc. is also offering a 50 percent discount to veterans seeking residential treatment
MURRIETA, Calif., Feb. 20, 2009 ? A Southern California drug and alcohol rehab center is offering free outpatient treatment services to military veterans who have returned from active duty during the past five years.
A Better Tomorrow Treatment Center Inc. is also offering veterans a 50 percent discount on its 28-day, residential treatment programs.
“We continue to see news reports about veterans returning from active duty overseas who are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. And given the strong correlation between PTSD and drug or alcohol addiction, we think our services would be of significant value to veterans who need help,” said Jerrod Menz, A Better Tomorrow’s president.
A Better Tomorrow will provide free outpatient treatment services three days a week for up to five veterans at a time with a maximum of one month of treatment services per veteran, Menz said.
Veterans who have recently returned from active duty and need residential treatment will be eligible for a 50 percent discount on A Better Tomorrow’s residential programs, which normally cost just over $13,000 per month, Menz said. The discounts will be offered to veterans on an ongoing basis as space permits.
Who is this KaiserSose ?
..either way it's a good thing 'n the contrast makes HSCC Shine ;)
Hey Grandbob, I think FTER is pretty close to a Lockdown to.. check it out.. Our HSCC is looking pretty good.. only a matter of time..
..I also kept your list of stocks.. one went up the other day.. don't want to mention the name.. still have to buy it. but was 212% thanks 4 the list.. ;)
..that Solid, what first motivated me is that they're in the position to help trouble addicts recover instead of sending them through expensive prison stays where nothing improves.. and there were articles that hints at California looking in this direction.. can't remember the places I saw this.. but the domino effect of prison instead of treatment is heavy.. prison stay, childcare, welfare... etc.. where treatment produces tax paying citizens ..a better investment = A better tomorrow : )
Thanks Lars ;) eom
These picks might have more to do with "The Newsletters" that they already put out.. the momentum heards are already in .. :)
Exactly.. eom
my only fear here is the same on my other main stock, the mm's, the selling of fake shares...etc.. these 2 stocks I have are pretty much float lock downs with strong longs holding.. we see 85-90% buys many in big blocks and they hold the stock back.. it's sad that here in America we still have these blatant things going on.. kinda like the BP thing.. them James Carville stands up and speaks some truth to get people out of their trance..
FTER,I guess could get the NOBO list, watch the trades and take some action in this area.. there's a vote coming up.. I looked into the D shares and posted about that.. hoping you guys would talk so I can learn more..?? the float is so low, I'm not sure a buyback program is a good option.. I actually forgot about FTER in the last few weeks, till you posted a bunch today Lars.. I'm pretty secure in this stock and, I don't know.. just didn't think or worry about it.. just wondered when the powers that be, would let the stock seek it's own true 'n honest level..???
What are preferred shares? Theyre called preferred because they have preference over common shares -- the class of stock that most investors own -- when it comes to the payment of dividends (if cash is running low at the company) and in the case the company has to liquidate. (In most liquidations, investors who hold common stock get nothing.) Preferred shares pay a dividend that is stipulated and in most cases fixed at the time theyre offered to the public. Dividend payments do not go up over time as the company gets more profitable, as they usually do with common shares that pay a dividend. Preferred shares generally do not carry voting rights in matters that come before shareholders.
When do companies issue preferred shares? When they have the cash flow to pay the dividends but dont want to issue bonds because they either dont want to add debt to the books or because capital is cheaper in the equity markets.//// Typically companies issued preferred stock instead of common shares when they want to prevent the dilution of voting rights ////and when they want to write very specific financial terms for the shares. Preferred stock comes in an almost infinite variety of flavors, each with slightly different financial characteristics.
////..so I'm guessing this is overall a positive move to keep our long investment safe..??? ////
COMPANY PROFILE
ABOUT EMPIRE FILM GROUP
Empire Film Group, Inc. (“EFG”) is a new independent film finance, production, and distribution company led by a management team with over 25 years of experience in development, production, distribution, finance and marketing of feature films and television programming. The group has filmed in various locations worldwide that include Los Angeles, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, France, Spain, Romania, Czech Republic, Vienna, Israel, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Chile, Puerto Rico, Cartagena and Bogota, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Australia and various locations throughout the United States and around the world. The Company has the unique financing advantage and is able to receive Canadian subsidies, tax incentives, rebates and financing through its ability to produce Canadian Content film and television projects.
Empire Film Group has identified a lucrative market segment in the entertainment industry that has not been pursued by the Major Studios. The company believes that there is a largely unaddressed market opportunity for an independent company – such as Empire – to produce and / or “acquire” modestly-budgeted, theatrical-quality films and distribute these to theaters, video and television in the US marketplace at a level of release that assures a maximum return-on-investment and predictable results. Generally, the company would be releasing films to theaters with less than 1,000 prints per film, as compared to the Major Studios and major independent competitors for Empire, that generally gravitate towards releases on 2,500 or more prints per film. The reduced level of prints will enable Empire to still reach all of the key US markets, yet do so at a cost of about one-third of the expenditures of the Major Studio releases. While the reduced breadth of release limits the film’s total box office potential, the resulting revenues generate a stronger bottom line profit and return for Empire, and hit a more predictable “sweet-spot” on a ROI curve. For 2010 and the first half of 2011, most of the films being released by Empire will be titles that are licensed or otherwise “acquired” in a completed (or nearly completed) condition from third party production companies. This acquisition strategy enables Empire to immediately launch its distribution operations without awaiting the 12-to-18-month delay time that occurs with original productions. By the 2nd half of 2011, however, it is anticipated that original productions being pursued by Empire will be ready for distribution. These original productions – generally being funded with off-balance sheet sources – are ultimately positioned for a greater bottom line return for Empire as the company would generate not only a distribution fee, but also an “equity participation” in the net revenues which generally is not available to Empire when handling third-party acquisitions.

.. ???????
0.038, sounds good, after last nights posts from the guys that been around 3+ years, I figured the float is pretty near to being locked down.. along w/the buyback program.. so I stopped counting.. but the figures are there if anybody wants to pick it up...
eom = end of message
G/M Cars eom = end of message
..If it were me, at this point I see a 0.04 ask, I would put my all or none order in now, you can even go 0.038 if you want and go to (open orders) later and change it.. 380.oo / 400.00 w/10.oo
for longer waits GTC = good till cancel
I check all or non, cause one time they broke up the fills and hit me w/2 comm's ?.. don't remember if they retorned the 13.oo or kept it.. was years ago..?
always check Limit/put in price.. many w/out limit will reject it w/pennny stocks
That's funny, just as I read your answer HLN on CNN anounced Poll results that Americans do expect a terrorist act soon..?
Thanks 4 the reply Dude.. good stuff.. but one thing struck me funny..
"The demand for HSCC shares is going to increase dramatically with the next terrorist attack."
...it seems that "just the honest truth" in trading practices will cause an increase...
..kinda reminds me of the BP oil thing.. 36-37 days later and we have James Carville speaking common sense.. into the bewildering slack..
.. I've been reading/learning about the SEC.. mmh, seems like another oils spill to me.. o'well.. the new wall st. movie is coming out.. maybe the masses of @sses will learn something and 'cause a stir of awareness.. movies seem to have more influence then common sense ;)
..there's a momentum group on facebook who's been talking HSCC, I saw in the older messages that they were in on a few big runs.. but a few or more are now holders..? their board was mentioned here earlier..I gotta feeling this GUY knows or influences 'em ??????
..sounds good -eom
Energy, 2b honest.. this iheardfromaguy, guy is the only thing that makes me nervous here.. he sounds like he's full of #$%^ in every respect except HSCC .. ; ) -sorry, but I like dealing from the top of the deck.. besides.. I used to have a broker.. ha!
"Most people on these boards have no patience." ..the issue I had was trying to understand how a price could drop when 18 out of 26 trades were buys and 4 were big blocks.. I know what your saying 'bout holding I have a few going on 6 years.. and will buy some shells w/low floats soon.. that's deff. a waiting game.. to be honest though, w/HSCC I think these are the highest expectations I ever had w/a stock.. and it's not just the positive talk on the boards.. it's a gut feeling.. that I fell into something good.. total accident, maybe a Divine accident.. not sure ?
