CELG has been doing well as of late. :)
Pantera, that GS trade of yours was amazing. Nice job.
Joe, I read this and thought of you with CFC. Not sure if it applies directly, but the mind-set is right up your alley. The snip I copied appears at the end of the article.

SM: Why can't we try this at home?
Embler: You have to roll up your sleeves. In the case of Telewest, I had to work with creditors and management and push for our rights. Every day there are discussions and decisions — it's time-consuming. The securities are hard to buy, and even if you could, I shudder to think what you would have to pay in trading costs.
SM: Another reason?
Langerman: Volatility. Take [home-loan provider] Countrywide. While Bank of America is investing in the equity, it hasn't yet decided how the debt will be treated. So if B of A announces it won't refinance Countrywide's debt, it could sink very rapidly. Another example we don't own is Delphi,
Looks like Jeffries needs to update their buy target on BZP. It passed 22 already (even tho it is a bit lower now) Thanks for sharing, Cy. I'm still waiting for a better price. Also need to free up some funds.
OT Did you ever have to sell a horse? My sister-in-law is having trouble selling one of hers. A friend told me about dreamhorse.com but my sister-in-law is worried about future treatment of the animal. She might be emotionally attached.
Exactly what I was thinking, Newly!!!
How funny! I wrote Pantera yesterday that I was doing a "sheep trade" and following into FTO. Sheeping is a much catchier word. LOL.
There was a poster called Marketmaven or something similar who alerted Zeev's thread about USNA a year or two ago. I shorted it then but after I covered for a small gain I couldn't get the shares back to borrow. Forgot about it since then. Too bad. They seemed like such a slimy outfit.
Thank you for the additional info, Cy. It really looks like a winner and I hope to get an opportunity to jump in soon.
I'm glad you guys had a great day on the slopes!
<<I think my track record speaks it's self in the patch....>>
That's why I wasn't too worried about following you in. It also looks like you have a bunch of company. I like bargins.
Thanks!
May FTO do as well as CELG!!!!
Nice job on XMSR, AD. I'm sorry I didn't join in the fun as I thought you had a good plan. Guess I'm just distracted.
I have a Sirius radio in my car that I never activated. If it was XM I would have tried it out. If I can get XM programing in the future (should the merger come to pass)then I might give it a try. Its nice having radio while traveling in the boonies.
Cy, your BZP is tearing it up! I was waiting for a little pullback and there wasn't much of one and its back off to the races. I found some old notes and saw you recommending this one mucho buckers ago. Way to go!!!
I'm doing a little sheep trading and following you into FTO, Pantera. Baaaaaaa! Small position though.
And I'm still in! Inertia can work!
If I remember correctly, BOA had that program before. The rub it that they assess fees that make the "savings" effectively go away for most.
Maybe the FCC will have so many conditions that XMSR drops even sooner!
Horsegirl, I'm in AAPL and looking to stay for a little while longer. I'm thinking we might see some more movement up going into April. However, I'm guessing my time-frame is a bit longer than yours. Good luck.
I wish I was more patient on last summers shorts. My biggest loss last year was closing out my AMZN short and then my QID short. If only I had waited a bit longer.....
OT I LOVED the Masterpiece theatre version of Last of the Mohicans (seen too many years ago). I never saw the movie.
Pantera, you are not alone on your opinion on Harrold. But I had to admit that it was perhaps good that someone "caught" Jim Cramer's spin on BSC. However, when I saw saw a part of Cramer's show again on someone's posted youtube video with Jon Stewart, Cramer's spin seemed plausible. As a result, I am even more wary of bits of information taken out of context.
My biggest problem with Harrold is that he is trying to make himself bigger by trying to bring down another man. It doesn't work for me. He should stick to his own trading acumen.
Steviee - what did you link to me? It looks long. :)
So you are saying that work on Hoover Dam was started before they had the money for it? Interesting.
I thought you were suggesting that FDR was a small government guy - hence my insinuation. I didn't want to spend the time looking for facts as this isn't an important point for me. But it seems I interpreted what you wrote incorrectly anyway.
Hoover worked on the dam project prior to becoming President. That is one inaccuracy I am sure of. I suspect other inaccuracies within your post about FDR/Hoover and public works projects.
Cool it worked. Now to learn how to link stuff on ihub.

Its a bit of an advertisement at the end, but interesting points are raised by Bill Gross in his March commentary.
I am trying to learn how to link stuff so if this doesn't work please forgive me.
Yeah, lots of noise is probably why I enjoyed watching the show. It helped me function while I was going through my Mom's things. The brain needed some diversion.
Did you see where ASTI ended up? Wow!
Some great trades from the usual suspects on this board! Joe, I must say your creativity in finding profitable plays is stellar!
Way to go guys!
Hey AD, I caught part 2 of Don Harrold's exposure of Cramer's BSC call. Although I still don't get his obsession with Cramer, I was thankful that someone brought that lying spin to light. I was actually surprised by it and had the impression Cramer was a more honest man about his mistakes. I only watch Cramer on occassion, and I enjoyed watching his show a few months back when I wasn't able to watch the market or trade. It was simply for entertainment. Apparently a lot of folks trade his calls and that is sad they turned out to be losers, but that is why there is no substitute for doing one's own assessment. Expensive lesson on BSC, but a lot of smart people were caught on that one. Sure it was a risky play, but I doubt anyone thought the downside was to $2 over a weekend.
It sure is a tough market out there.
George, check Ico's thread - News, Gappers... they are talking about FMCN there.
I was wondering why Valley Fair Mall (San Jose, CA) had a currency exchange installed until I heard the British accents of a tourist family.
Lucky guy! I know a lot of people who wish they had that opportunity. :)
I'm not sure WHAT to believe, AD. I just know I gotta!
Cy, I have trouble reconciling my buy and hold tendancies (maybe neglect is more like it) with trends that seem to be unfolding. I've let too many winners change to losers which is a big no no. Of course I also feel bad on those "missed gains" that too much trading brings about too.
So, I'm not sure what my focus is, which is probably just one of my problems in this scarey market.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I'll answer that for ya, AD. "Ya Gotta Believe"!
Thanks Cy. Its comforting to know that I have company.
Anybody here still own ERF and BTU? I'm holding on to things too long and missing good gains. (Thats why I'm also wondering about DVN)
DVN - Did you sell your shares yet? Its near a double-top.
Zeev - what a great and honorable man. He is missed already by many. I was thinking yesterday would have been one of those days when he would have captured many decabuckers and the like and proclaiming "what a country!"
I agree with Lee here - best to wait a few days but my inclination would be to keep this thread going as Zeev's legacy.
rr, I'm not a big fan of wiki for important details like what we are discussing. I find them better for general stuff.
Yeah, you're right I wish it was that simple. What a mess we're in.
