Do you know of any other appropriate event, like the Mining Conference, between then and 1 October where CCTC could make an announcement of investment such as a DOE award? I don't! So I think it is then or never IMHO.
The public radio station should be all over this event doing a brief interview with every presenter. If the clean coal issue is considered news worthy by other PBS stations those interviews could be heard all over the country. I just hope Eaves is a good public speaker!
My question is how badly even that $122K will hurt CCTC? Ant idea of how the current finances of the company stand? I'm eager for the 10-K!
You have a point. In my fantasy Bloomberg sends a reporter. However, I knew a stringer once who worked free lance for a couple of different news outlets. One could show up! What about TV & radio? Do you think they will just be the local & statewide stations? Is there even an electronic mining pub on line that could send a reporterto interview conference speakers?
Good to see Sen. Manchin looking into this. The simple answer from DOE will be "the previous Administration's priorities." With his investigation it just might shake some funding loose for clean coal project loan guarentees while the the funds still exist (prior to 1 October). The Senator better move fast IMHO, the first of October will be here before you know it!
Yeah, that's what I thought. With CCTC now being a guest speaker it made sense to me. The PR and posting on the company website Cartman recommends could be timed to occur shortly after the announcement during their presentation. Those three things, together with press coverage from reporters sent to the event, would get CCTC the most bang for its buck media wise, particularly if it is picked up by larger outlets like the AP or UPI.
O.K. given the 1 October deadline, what venue, between now and then, in your opinion, would be a more appropriate one?
There is a slim chance of that IMHO. Pakistan is a developing country with energy infrastructure needs and an emphasis on small distributed generation due to the lack of a robust and pervasive electrical grid. IMHO the lion's share of their grant funds will be directed to the needs in their own countryside villages where alternative energy has made significant inoads.
That's possible but not probable IMHO. Looking over the conference agenda I see a strong slant to technology R&D nothing company specific. Italy would not be the appropriate forum for a CCTC specific announcement. Now the US mining conference is a whole different matter. There it would be entirely appropriate.
Also, if the "juicy news" is of significant financial impact a 8-K should be issue.
Point taken. The DOE can only prime the pump here. With a million dollar award CCTC would have the estimated $750 K to relocate and set up the pilot plant in WY. The remaining quarter million would provide sufficient start up capital. Then the coal companies and rail carriers logically should belly up to the bar in their own self interest. At that point they will know the Government has verified the technology to enable safe and economic export of PRB coal.
The absolute deadline is 1 October. Unless Congress restores funding for clean coal. In President Trump's budget it is completely eliminated! The reduced DOE grant funding is redirected toward nuclear and applied research. 1 July is another date that is key for the current Federal FY so you are correct about May hearings in consideration of a June award disbursement. June seems to be shaping up to be an important month for CCTC IMHO.
Wouldn't say "nail in the coffin." I believe that to be a bit of exaggeration. I believe the phrase dead money unless a large DOE grant/award comes through might be more appropriate for now.
I'll be back after the judge makes their decision no later than 5/12.
Monday 5/15 should be a very active trading day IMHO. Until then GLTA
I'm joining you until catalyst news breaks. GLTA.
You're right of course. A few Federal dollars won't hack it! An award of at least a million would be required to relocate the pilot plant from OK to WY and have sufficient start up capital IMHO. Much depends on exactly what comes out in the wash of the Federal Budget process for FY 18. The ball is now in Congress's court. Hey, let's write our members of Congress & ask them for their support of this!
Like you I have faith in CCTC's proven Pristine tehnology. I also believe the well engineered modular design, using off-the-shelf components can accomdate industrial quantities. I further believe the $9 a short ton processing cost, realistic. The only fly in the oatmeal is proving it will perform well at the industrial quantity level as Cartman has noted.
Agree. There is tremendous potential! The trick is to keep CCTC alive long enough to play a part in unleashing it. Much depends on funding. Thank you for sharing that article.
I believe that during the settlement Microsoft played hardball offering the $9.7 million with the catch of free licensing. SFOR's back was against the wall since it was down to its last $35K and reasoned half a loaf is better than none and bankruptcy. This enabled them to survive to fight for all the other deals and licensing royalities you have so finely elaborated on for our future cash flow.
IMHO Mark made a tough decision and it was the right one for all.
Good. I believe in the gift of "second sight." My father had it.
If DOE provides financing it will be off to the races IMHO.
Research the President's Federal Budget proposal for the next FY that was submitted to the US Congress for review awhile ago. Page through the DOE section. You will find the elimination of fossil fuel R&D funding and the emphasis on nuclear and "applied research" not even basic research got a dime! Yes, I think this is short sighted but that is what President Trump poposed. Now under the Constitution, the President proposes but the Congress disposes, and millions of dollars have been restored for fossil fuel R&D. Now, the hard work begins for the lobbyist and Congressional staffers. Whichever fossil fuel lobby (natural gas, oil or coal) makes the largest campaign contributions tends to have their fuel favored by Federal largesse. The upshot of all that is we won't know the exact figures of the DOE budget until it is put inthe Federal Register for public review. The President could sign it into law or veto it and send it back to the House with his recommendations. All this must be finalized before 1 October or a continuing resolution (CR) will have to be passed to avoid a Government shutdown. This was done today keeping the doors open until the end of September. The problem with a CR of course is flat funding. Nothing new can be added whileit is in effect. The entire US Goverment marches in place making no forward progress. But, at least the day to day Government functions contnue.
Glad I made you laugh. Now please elaborate on your possible Philippine scenario and just how CCTC could benefit. Thank you!
I sincerely hope you're a psychic!
That article just came out today. Sure, Congress wants to add budget $668 million for fossil fuels. Now the sauusage making that is the Federal Budget begins. Who knows what the final amount will be. The POTUS budget proposal zeroed it out! We won't know for sure until it is signed by POTUS into law on 1 October.
East answer. There still is hope IMHO until 1 October. After that things become very problematic.
Regarding Microsoft I admit you have a valid point about the 10-K. There is nothing in its figures. To say otherwise for me would be intellectually dishonest. You scored that point fair & square Ram!
Are you saying that if the DOE dumps CCTC the Philippines might walk away with its IP at fire sale prices or what? How does that affect the common shares? Could they be cancelled in this scenario as the PI nationalizes their acquisition?
You have brightly highlighted the power behind the throne. This is a sticky worthy post IMHO as it is detailed & very well referenced.
I've always considered Mark Kay a straight shooter. I've always considered you the best researcher on this board! I understand your position on the 8-K but must be open to the alternative of one and done in regards to Microsoft settlment money in accordance with Mark's e-mail. I write this to you respectfully and sincerely hope you understand.
That is encouraging if it goes beyond hot air at a conference. Like they say, money talks and BS walks! CCTC will be taking a long walk off a short pier on 10/1 unless Uncle Sugar Daddy comes through with some cold hard cash IMHO.
You're very welcome carusso. Know this must be a team effort as was the longs effort writing their Senators and Representatives on behalf of the troops getting MT. Now, the stakes are even higher! It is the cyber security of our country that is in danger. I believe our little company, SFOR, has something to offer in its defense. Thank you for considering writing the WH, CIA and ODNI so they all realize this.
The DOE is not sharing the money at a conference in Italy. Unless you believe this is the world stage for introducing their last best chance for clean coal, CCTC to the international community and revealing how much DOE has awarded them. I will be plesantly suprised if that happens. No, let me rephrase that, I will be in shock and disbelief!
Beats me. All I know is the nothing CCTC management has said about applying for any of it! Their silence concerns me and is dropping the pps into the abyss.
Nice junket! Just what is DOE going to share? Their continuing clean coal project failures and abysmal economics? Why not? It's an appropriate swan song for them. They had a chance to back something that actually works & is economical, Pristine, and they muffed it! Thanks DOE for pissing away the money on a failed solar company when you had a fossil fuel winner waiting in the wings.
Your guess is as good as mine. However, given the recent lack of company communications I'd say downward.
This is great but after 10/1 when clean coal asks the question "Where's the beef?" to Uncle Sam's DOE they'll respond, there isn't any left! When CCTC tries to folllow the money they will end up in a dead end after October first.
It doesn't matter! President Trump has submitted his budget to Congress. His DOE budget zeros out clean coal funding. His priorities are nuclear and applied research. Yes, I know the POTUS proposes and the Congress disposes in accordance with the Constitution. I just don't see many Democrats suddenly embracing coal or many Republican members of Congress going against their President despite NMA lobbying.
Nah, I'll just stay with SFOR based on the DD I've done. Thanks for the other stock tip though.
