All of that is possible, but so is the trial not panning out, the results not being ready at certain conferences leaving some upset and feeding into the sell-off vs letting the story be told in its own unique way.
We all hope. Longs hope for success, shorts hope for a price drop. Successes will always beat a price drop.
So with that mindset, I've been in AVXL since the otc days. They have since been releasing nothing but success. Reinforcing their board, strengthening their IP, or even making us investors want to hold even more because of the stockholders plan that got approved.
I've been tempted to sell and move to something that moves quicker, but I keep thinking of the quote. "The market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient". So I've been holding and adding all this time. Even staying away from this board as it gets tiring to read and reread posts that try to get you to sell. Try to doubt your investment. I have 30 years before I retire and I have a pretty sizable investment of Anavex tied up in my 401K.
We finally may find out if our investment was worth the wait. I sure hope so and we revive continued success releases from the company.
Was anything linked with the purchases 2 years ago? Just curious
Wow,
Just realized Park West owns just about exactly 8% of outstanding shares.
3302827/41509225 according to fintel
7.95685 percent
When Dr. Missling said there was no patent issue a few years ago, we finally see why. Snatched up a few hundred more shares at 3.75 ????
Lol, tell that to the MMs that do much less than that after hours.
I'm sure there is nothing to worry about as far as his 750 purchase goes. This is taken from a 2014 release
"K&L Gates LLP serves as Anavex's Designated Advisor for Disclosure ("DAD") on OTCQX, responsible for providing professional guidance on OTCQX requirements and U.S. securities laws."
So if we look at the S-8, they are still using K&L Gates as a copy was sent to them. If it was breaking ANY securities law, they would have advised not to do it.
It'll happen when it'll happen. Liking the enthusiasm, but we've been here a few times before.
lol I got one better. Add the 750 to his count and his new total is????
1004000
Oct 4.
Was waiting for the pps to get around the $3 range to add more, but I might have to just throw that out the window and add more on Monday.
Was invested here about 2 years ago. Held for a year believing that I invested in a good company. Held after the first r/s. Finally had to cut er loose and let er sink. Losing a shiny penny in the process. Ah well, always a life lesson to be taught.
Good luck to all current shareholders
Glad to see common sense prevail. This drop isn't because bad news was released. It's because no presentation was given. I've stayed away for a while so as not to get caught up in the daily price changes
I pointed that out about a year ago. The rollercoaster ride is real.
With the FDA approving a drug with only 88 people in the trial gives hope to some that they WILL approve something if it proves effective no matter if you have a small enrollment. Bring on the 300

Old news, but still nice to see tutes increasing their share count.
NAME Previous Current
Park west 1,500,000 to 2,962,090
BlackRock 1,344 to 1,605,252
Vanguard 1,314,104 to 1,485,681
BR Fund Adv 886,059 to 1,057,856
State Street 391,065 to 523,810
Although some did bounce out completely.
Tutes hold just about 25%. That number still doesn't include insiders and we believers.
Hopefully we are about to pick up the pace once the 5M shares are dispersed.
Not really, I plainly asked about the LPC deal not about Anavex the company. Everyone has an opinion and mine of Dr. Missling is that he is doing what needs to be done to keep the company going forward. Anyone thinks otherwise, should obviously not be around as a shareholder much longer.
What's the facts?
Didn't see if anyone posted the tweet from Anavex
Anavex CEO Christopher Missling, PhD to serve on #RettSyndrome roundtable at World #OrphanDrug Congress

We all knew it was coming, but at least now it's official.
I'd beg to differ with you. He didn't take his eye off the prize, just found a faster way to claim that prize. Say he did the Alz trial first. He would be at the mercy of continuous relentless shorts and attacks by take your guess. By starting Rett and/or Parkinsons before Alz p2/3, he is loading up for a nice one two three punch if data comes back positive.
Imagine announcement of Rett, then Parkinsons some time later. Then Alz would follow. By the time the news wears off that 3 trials are running, time for p2 results for Rett and/or Parkinson. Then if those trials are positive, off to p3 all the while the alz p2/3 steadily closes in on 6 months.
So again, eye off the prize? I dont' think so. Just adding up those smaller bears to get that one big bear that he really wants.
All IMO. By the way, what was the results of the voting?
Lol, most people that bought 2-3 years ago isn't negative. Try again. That's a FACT. And they most definitely are VERY comfortable with the position they have
Anyone look at the filings lately? A lot of put and calls placed by one co.
https://fintel.io/so/us/avxl
Lol Tom, looks like an art piece from my 1st grader. How you interpret that is amazing.
No!! You won't get me to sell my shares. Try all one wants to influence our board, but I'll take our CEO, the Anavex board, and their plans over an anonymous poster trying to make loud noise.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, mine just happens to not agree with yours.
Note:
I am a true long and will continue to hold as long as it takes.
Do you have proof that its NOT? As of the PR, it stated it wasn't for that, but who knows about the future. Speculation is great isn't it.
I always have a question go unanswered
BP cares nothing more than to screw over small bio over a new approach to a disease that looks promising. Just because the CEO is preparing his company for such a threat isn't a bad thing. Im sure he knows how it works and how to combat against such an act, being that he has the prior experience at a previous job.
So yes, better to have a poison pill in place before the data release and trials start, rather than later when its too late and you're left packing your office up because you've been replaced.
If only you thought of a poison pill BEFORE......
I'm willing to lose the shares I have by waiting and seeing how this game is played.
Exactly. So end of story about another trial in another era. Only thing to do is hold if you believe in the science and sell if you don't. Only a p2/3 with 300 patients with a placebo and.......yada yada yada like the one being designed will prove if it is better than SOC.
Can we please keep the topic AVXL, not other failed trials almost a decade old.
It isn't a subset that has continued the P2a trial for A-273. The ENTIRE group wanted to continue taking the drug.
that sounds NOTHING familiar like what was in bold
subset of a few dozen patients with early-stage, mild Alzheimer’s, who had taken Flurizan for an extended period of 24 months, showed significant improvement. Largely on that basis the Phase III study went forward.
Another ANTI-AMYLOID fail. Whats the point? Trying to connect the dots and say 99% of trials fail, so Anavex will fail?
Translation= Reducing Amyloid plaques WILL NOT benefit an Alzheimers patient over time.
How in the hell did Ph3 fail? HAVING THE WRONG TARGET
Report as in livestream? Hopefully we all go into the meeting with an open mind and no expectations.
So bottom line would be Rett and MJFF has better qualified professionals than OP, who always seems to make one assume that Anavex has NOTHING better than SOC for Alzheimer's.
Like those that did DD would sell just because someone on a message board is thinking what's best for us shareholders.
I'm sure a sell off WONT happen, let alone hit any part of the 2's.
Glad to see you back doing your thing. Good things must be right around the corner.
No wonder the Dr. wants a shareholder rights plan. He needs retail to hold so no one threat can own majority stake.
I'd bet a lot of shares would be sold as we started hiking up the mountain, giving just that scenario a chance.
Truthfully, I'm not selling because I have my core in my 401 and have a good 25 years before retirement.
All the conspiracies being made up is truly hiarious , especially coming from those few "longs".
Just remember, any other CEO in charge and BP would have already got what they wanted.
Impatience isn't what got Buffett his Billions.
If there's new data, they would have to PR it in the morning or before its revealed I believe.
Yup, some even plan to wait a decade or two. What's worse, spending thousands in getting the word out or BILLIONS on a trial that ends with ub knowing you have no chance of the drug besting placebo?
Lol 4.6x for the NEW soc?
I'm locked, loaded, and patiently await the Dr. to lay his hand down.
Anavex has the potential to do something NO other BP has done, and they've been trying for 10-15 years. Billions and billions of dollars spent with nothing more than 5 weeks of pushing off the inevitable. Along with a bunch of side effects.
Trying to discuss anything besides the science as a negative shows where one stands. Missling said no issues with patent, I believe his word. Investing, not trading, in a company requires a level of trust from the company and shareholders.
Nothing besides negative news will make ME doubt my investment.
No news on data this week? That's fine. When it's ready it's ready. The plan is in effect and for some reason shareholder rights is now important for us.
Good luck Longs and Believers.
That doesn't sound like a true long. 10:1?
Any BP that misses out on a partnership with AVXL will miss out on a potential drug of the century.
Not pumping, just open ones eyes and realize how many people would be taking medicine for multiple reasons.
Bottom line?
BP needs us more than we need then. Blink? And Missling would gladly phone Asia and see if anyone is interested in a partnership. All IMO.
Comic relief . Thanks for the laughs this A.M.
If they get approval for one, chances are pretty good for more
Better than BIIB chance of an Alzheimer's p3 success.
There is a debate because:
1. There is no scientific angle to attack against.
2. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.
3. I've noticed double standards against Anavex for a while now.
This is wrong for them to do while other BP does the same thing.
Oh my, TAXES now.... Lol, lets go after those 5 gallon water bottles that they refill every week next.
Good to see you still hanging around JBG. Good luck to you with your trades.
Back that up with the data please. Links. This was discussed before as most of his compensation is in the form of stock options at different levels and prices.
