From a business standpoint, it has been said that the GLBT market is untapped, underserved, and open ended. But even this is an understatement! The GLBT segment of the population is pervasive, yet has special unmet needs related to every facet of life.
The possibilities are endless.
Take health care as one example. Would you believe 70,000 GLBT medical professionals in this part of the world? Scan around the following pages:
http://www.glma.org/about/index.html
I mean it may not happen right away, but I sure can see 100's of hours, maybe a lot more, of all kinds of TV programming, talk shows, dramas, documentaries, news and other features etc., relating just to GLBT medical themes, beaming out from TTN to the GLBT community.
There certainly will never be more than just a trickle of this kind of information available via the broadcast channels!
TTN has the potential to go off in myriad directions like this. The horizons are basically unlimited for this company once it launches!

Note the new stock ticker at:

The DISH Network is there; so is AOL/Time Warner and General Electric.
Is this to be Tipoff Home Central for the growing inventory of alliances in the TMM Family?
Very intriguing.

Arch - We all very much appreciate the time and effort that the you and the team expend in researching and categorizing picks.
Right now we have:
1) Stockwatch
2) Beyond Pennies
3) Picks of the Week
4) Hot Picks
And, of course, 5) Corner Favorites (Traders & Keepers)
If you get a chance, do you have a post or short summary that amplifies/philisophizes a bit on what it takes (i.e., what the specific expectations and differences are) to be listed in each category?
Clearly, there is a message each time we see a stock shift between categories, and having a clearer definition of each category would help in that thought process.
Thanks in advance.

Potential Sponsors for QBID: I would guess that most of these 50 companies from the following Survey of the most Gay-Friendly Fortune 500 Corporations may eventually want to sign up with TMM as Founding or future Sponsors. And I bet there's probably a whole bunch more companies within the remaining 450 that'd also be interested. QBID: Spotted this story about Atlanta's Gay Pride festival set for this weekend.
http://www.southernvoice.com/southernvoice/news/record.html?record=15410
I guess what caught my eye is the following sponsor references. Just a tiny indication of how large corporate america is already way beyond mere token gestures, and is wildly enthusiastic and pragmatic about wanting to show their appreciation and desire to go after the lucrative G&L dollar. There are dozens of other fortune 500 companies who are similarly jumping on the bandwagon, of course.
"While early Pride marches cost little more than a few dollars
for homemade signs and a great deal of courage from
participants, the tab for this year's three day festival is
expected to be $350-400,000, Narducci said.
The largest chunk of that bill, 40 percent, is paid through
corporate sponsors, including Coca-Cola, Coors Brewing
Company and Showtime Networks this year. Another large
portion, 38 percent, comes from fees paid by vendors and
parade participants."

and click on "details" at upper right you'll go to a new series of three pages describing the advantages of Founder's Sponsorship.
Also, on the last page it's revealed that there is to be a monthly programming guide.
Wondering if that'll be a freebee or possibly represents another source of revenue.

QBID - Hi Arch,
TMM is undoubtedly on a mission to create "branding" and credibility as "The" ground zero resource for all things GLBT.
The channel will help sell the cola and the cola will (almost certainly) carry a written reminder to help sell the channel.
Eventually, the soda can could even carry an abridged schedule, plus a profile, of upcoming shows.
Great for all around repeat business, etc. LOL
Pretty darn clever.

QBID: Seems like the message of the first sampling (as yet unnamed) of "Fortune 500" Sponsor Companies (See PR below.) teaming with Triangle Multi-Media is that things have already moved well beyond a traditional broadcaster/sponsor relationship. Rather something more like the enthusiastic joint commitment and involvement by like-minded partners and teammates moving forward as one.
From the 5 June PR: "Most participating companies want to thank the gay community for its loyal patronage over the years. As
the Marketing Supervisor from a major corporation recently stated, "What a wonderful way to show the gay community that we appreciate their business and that we wish to seek an even greater market share." Being a premium channel, access to TTN will be restricted to those customers who request it. TTN and its founding sponsors have agreed to make a joint announcement in early July. President Frank Olsen said they hoped to have at least 10 founding sponsors by that time."

QBID: Up another 45% (Ask = $0.029) with 40 more minutes of trading. - Ron
Sure Arch,
http://host.wallstreetcity.com/wsc2/Chart.html?Timespan=130&&Symbol=QBID
I think I know the problem. The previous URL was for Wallstreetcity's "real time" chart, which requires registration and I guess setting of an internal "cookie" to work. (The above URL should go to their 20 minute delayed chart.)
BTW, I suggest signing up so as to get the real time chart, if you haven't already done so. The real time last ten trades data is very useful too all in one place.
The only thing I would warn you about is that their real time Bid/Ask information in the upper table is invariably wrong for BB and pinksheet stocks! I've been trying to get them to fix this for at least two years, but to no avail. (Blows my mind how cavalier they are about this.)
Ron
QBID: Hi Arch - This is not a bad chart either - Ron

QBID up 40% yesterday; 100% more today! EOM
Thanks and I sincerely hope so Matt.
After all, where is it written that a company's products must be all things to all people?
Does Mercedes' marketing plan anticipate being able to sell their automobiles to everyone that drives?
Is a recognized maker of fine wines rendered any less potent or deemed socially irresponsible because it doesn't also make bourbon, scotch, beer, and vermuth?
And each of us could name 1000 other examples.
This is the age of specialization. And if you put out fine specialty product, distingished from everybody else by its refinement, understated fine qualities, and good taste, everyone will be flocking to your company and to these boards IMHO.
Ron
Hi Matt,
My next suggestion is radical.
Why isn't this world big enough for one message board service (IH would be my choice) to cater only to investors who only want to rub shoulders with what I'll call "Fellow Enthusiasts", and only fellow enthusiasts, of stocks they're interested in?
Call it an exclusive club for enthusiast-minded individuals.
This feature could simply be the written going-in policy of IH, and obvious violation of this stated policy, as determined by each chairman, could be the predominate cause for deletion of messages.
This does not violate anyone's rights or freedom of speech. If this were the stated policy going in, then nobody could ever complain that their rights were being trampled upon, because those results were never granted in the first place!
Put simply - IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE POLICY OF THIS PARTICULAR MESSAGE BOARD CLUB, SIMPLY LEAVE YOUR MESSAGES ON SOME OTHER BOARD!
Please understand. I'm not saying that someone shouldn't be able to bring up and discuss valid concerns and issues about a company or stock, merely that when such concerns do come up that people work together to increase their understanding and the ramifications, together with alternate solutions, other perspectives, and that sort of thing.
The way it is now, certain people utilize these boards for the express purpose of trying to make a buck by directly harming the underlieing company. That is their sole agenda! And these people are easily distinguishable from everyone else.
I say - If they want to do this, fine. Let them start their own parallel message board service that primarily and solely attempts to bring harm as their instrument for profit.
Let me close by asking you a simple question.
How is what IH is apparently becoming now any different than RB, except possibly for the background color of the pages?
Very soon IH and RB will be almost indistinguishable I feel, and that's sad because I believe most people originally came here seeking refuge from RB.
And I know you will understand when I point you to SEVU as being a prime example of abuse.
Thank you for your consideration, as always.
Ron
Still, CMDA is now apparently hiring like crazy, which certainly bodes well (eventually when the K-Y runs out) for the future.
"...company is actively seeking writers, producers, on-camera personalities and qualified personnel to fill mid-management positions. They are also searching for a Chief Financial Officer for the new network. These positions have become available as a result of the imminent launch of the network. Marvin Jenkins, president, stated the company must expand in
order for the network to provide the highest quality alternative lifestyle programming."
I read this to mean they want to bring on at least a dozen new full time people and have the resources to do so. And these apparently aren't peons either, but well paid managers!
The CFO opening is particularly interesting. What high level person would even consider a job like this (perhaps even jumping ship to do so) unless they were convinced that CMDA had staying power!
Bringing on a CFO also implies someone is getting serious about future filings too (with similar implications for QBID I think).
Too bad about 11 May, and not to confuse QBID and CMDA, but you've just got to have more confidence now than ever that the companies will ultimately get the channel launched as well as succeed.
Ron
Nobody has mentioned this yet...
But this latest piece IMHO...Its style, candor, clarity, grammatical precision, even its humbleness, is so refreshing after such a long literary drought!
Even the ambitious promise to try and update the page daily is on track!
The quality of communications has obviously ratcheted upwards with this new author. Sure hope this is just the start of many good things.

Well - "Daily updates" is progress of sorts...We never have been treated to Daily
Updates before!
"April 4, 2001....
Dear Loyal and Potential Subscribes, Co-Media, the founders and operators of the
TRIANGLE TELEVISION NETWORK, have made great progress in bringing the network
to fruition. Once again we need to postpone our live air date. We are not
going to give you a specific new date but will update this web sight everyday to keep you
abreast of developments.
We've made tremendous strides as well as securing major commitments by investors.
Please be patient as we
will become a reality as soon as possible."

Ferrgus,
Schwab's "Reorganization Dept." just told me that they are waiting on the transfer agent and that the process normally takes 2-4 weeks from the cut off date. (I presume it's, in part, because the DTC is involved too.) So since this is just a small company, if anything happens before the end of next week I'll be surprised (my words).
BTW, I just spoke with Tiffaney and she says that that email formally (kind of a relative term isn't it LOL) rescheduling the debut to 11 April will be going out today. Since I'm on the list, I'll post it here when I get it.
Ron
Kind of seems like the new IU server is up and running. Take a look at the IWISH Board.
The improvement is really noticeable.
Ron
Sort of interesting guys that with GAAY now moving up to $0.004B by $0.005A and QBID at $0.008B by $0.011A, someone missing the conversion deadline could almost convert on the outside if they could get QBID at $0.01 or less (not counting commissions).
($0.004 X 2.375 = $0.0095 ~ $0.01)
Ron
4 April will mark a revolutionary milestone in sociological television broadcasting. Nothing on this theme on this sort of scale has ever been attempted before!

QBID: New Triangle Television Network (TTN) Schedules just went up for the 4 April debut! What an ambitious, impressive, and eclectic mix of programming for a young new station!
Even round the clock, true 24/7 broadcasting (without 12 hour repeats) from the get-go! Take a look. It's a happenin' while we watch!
