Newly Published Data Shows Potential of Peregrine's Tarvacin(TM) to Treat Primary and Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PRNewswire
07:00 a.m. 01/11/2006
- Study in International Journal of Cancer Shows Tarvacin Equivalent in Combination with Gemcitabine Reduced Metastatic Disease by 80% at Principal Sites of Metastasis - - Results Expected to Provide Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Trials -
TUSTIN, Calif., Jan 11, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Peregrine Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (PPHM), a biopharmaceutical company with a portfolio of innovative, clinical-stage product candidates for viral diseases and cancer, today announced preclinical results showing that 3G4, the mouse equivalent of Tarvacin(TM) Anti-Cancer, was effective at controlling the growth and spread of pancreatic cancer as a single agent and had significantly enhanced efficacy when combined with the standard-of-care chemotherapy gemcitabine. Pancreatic cancer is very difficult to treat and has the lowest 5-year survival rate of all malignancies. In this study, the Tarvacin equivalent antibody demonstrated promising activity against the primary tumor itself as well as the metastases that actually cause most pancreatic cancer deaths. The study will be published in the International Journal of Cancer (volume 118, edition 10) and is currently available online (published online: 13 Dec 2005, DOI: 10.1002/ijc.21684.)
Tarvacin Anti-Cancer is in a multi-center Phase l trial for solid tumor cancers. It is a monoclonal antibody that binds to certain phospholipids, components of the cell structure that are usually located inside normal cells but which become exposed on the outside of the cells that line the blood vessels of tumors, creating a specific target for anti-cancer treatments. This study compared the Tarvacin equivalent antibody and gemcitabine as single agents and in combination in two realistic and clinically relevant mouse models of pancreatic cancer.
CFW, the stock that just keeps on giving.
Nope, the market sure hasn't pushed the PPS up.
Interestingly, volume is up.
What's that they say? Volume precedes price?
jonesie
And TRADED at 2.75, woohoo!
Be nice to see the volume.
Gotta like this DIRECTION though!
Good luck to all.

Weekly chart getting interesting IMHO
.305 bingo.
Only 295 shares there so far though LOL
jonesie
LOL pvc, nah, not really.
But NEOM has filled every gap it's ever made as far as I can remember ... so if I'm "complaining" it would only be about the potential to trade at .305 today. Not really complaining about anything, just noting the games.
Hmmmmm, .304 sounds like a good place to add some more perhaps ... gotta check my rules on that.
jonesie
p.s. I've been in several stocks where some number of investors are sitting on huge gains at the end of the year ... and they wait until just after the first to lock those gains in, putting off tax ramifications until the following year. TIV was a notable stock in that regard last January. I wonder if that will be much of a factor with NEOM in the short term?
Grrrrrr.
WHY do "they" gap NEOM up like that?! I swear "they" do it on purpose for trading purposes lol.
Good luck to all and Happy New Year!

Ken, re: GTE lol
Well I was OUT until 10:11 a.m. this morning so had to chase just a bit. Thank goodness for real-time news pings.
That really is some good news it seems, so it will interesting to see wither GTE goest from here.
jonesie
GTE, glad I was here watching this morning LOL
Had to jump back in quick, wow.

OT: "It doesn't matter what TS says"
You've got that right! Even if Tobin said to sell it wouldn't matter in the long run, Tobin has a LONG LONG list of stocks where he sold out WAY to early at prices anywhere from HALF to ONE FIFTH of what they are now, or went to shortly after his sell rec. I still hold MANY oil & gas picks he said to sell, the bonehead, one he sold at $6 and it's been to $30.
Geez, I didn't mean to get started on Tobin, don't mention his name and I won't rant about him LOL.
NEOM 2006!!!
jonesie
OT: The thing I most hated about Tobin...
... has to do with "stuff" like this on NEOM and many other stocks:
"So far, officially, we're up over 160% in this exciting microcap stock. Of course, I know, from the e-mails I'm getting from ChangeWave MicroCap subscribers, that many of them loaded up on the stock when it dipped after our initial recommendation... and some of them banked gains of well over 1,000%.."
Where he ALWAYS leaves out the part about "and some of them bought at my highest raised "buy under" point and are down over 50%".
Seriously, I subscribed for a year in either 2003 or '04, can't even remember now, and his methods along with his self-aggrandizing "recaps" of his "wins" made me want to barf.
EOR (end of rant)
jonesie
p.s. although, without deciphering the early Tobin NEOM teaser emails I never would have found NEOM and I am glad I did and I am planning on being "gladder".
re: tax loss selling, hmmmmmm
Others say it is the trade date itself that counts with the IRS and that brokerages report the actual trade dates on the 1099-type forms they send in to the IRS. That group says trades all the way up until this Friday can "count" with the IRS as far as being a tax-loss sale for 2005.
I've seen more folks espousing this particular scenario. I've never cut it that close when planning ahead like that for tax purposes, so I've never actually asked my brokerage the question.

Cedric Kushner Promotions Changes Name To ''Ckrush, Inc.,'' Will Begin Trading under Stock Symbol ''CKRH''
12/23/2005 12:29:01 PM
NEW YORK, Dec 23, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Cedric Kushner Promotions, Inc. ("CKP" or the "Company") (PK: CKPI) announced today that it has changed its name to Ckrush, Inc. ("Ckrush"), and will begin trading under the stock symbol "CKRH.PK" on December 27, 2005. The name change to Ckrush reflects the Company's expansion into the entertainment business and its strategic initiatives in digital content production and distribution. Ckrush, through its subsidiaries Ckrush Entertainment ("Entertainment"), Ckrush Direct ("Direct") and Ckrush Sports ("Sports"), will focus on creating compelling sports and entertainment content for distribution across all media platforms.
Ckrush Entertainment, Inc., formed in 2004, produces feature films and television programming. In the year 2005, Entertainment produced "Beer League" starring Artie Lange and "TV the Movie" starring Steve O, Wee Man and Preston Lacy of "Jackass" fame. Additionally, the Company co-produced National Lampoons "Pledge This" starring Paris Hilton. Entertainment is developing a number of feature film and television projects. In June of 2005, Entertainment entered into a joint venture with Identity Films, LLC ("Identity"). Pursuant to the joint venture, the Company and Identity formed "Identity Films & Company" for the purpose of, among other things, developing, financing, and producing feature films.
Ckrush Sports, Inc. will focus on professional sports, specifically the promotion of professional boxers and televised boxing events and potentially other sports ventures. Cedric Kushner Promotions, Inc. will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ckrush Sports, Inc. Recently, Sports entered into consulting agreements with legendary boxing trainer Lou Duva as well as highly regarded promoter Dino Duva.
Ckrush Direct will produce and distribute programs and products, including DVD's, videos and various consumer goods, for pay-per-view, video-on-demand, direct response and retail distribution.
Some more size showed up on the bid at 2.85 ...
... then it got whacked hard.
jonesie
So Ken, you think CHID doesn't fit the profile ...
... of how the chart should look before a nice runup?
TIA
jonesie
CHID, one to keep an eye on "maybe".
I've been in CHID for a while, has this thing been basing or what??!! Or just flat-lining? ;)
It's a China play.
Seems to be trying for another Magic Box setup soon ... maybe.
Just FWIW
Transat, here's what I did.
I had been in GTE from earlier, just keeping it on my screen, bought more on the first Magic Box coming off that bottom, then wasn't paying attention for a while and didn't get more until the green vertical line. My bad, but tried to "fix it" lol.
Sold at the red line to protect profits, but I'm watching closely, this isn't that much worse (IMHO) than that last dip back before this most recent leg of the up-move and a spark could make it turn right around.
Just my take, I'm very interested in hearing what Ken has to say.
jonesie
LOL, I should have read further before posting.
Seems quite a few others have the same sense of the PRE- and POST-SHM stock action.
IMHO sooner or later NEOM will have that HUGE SURPRISE PR that ignites everything, my EGHT finally did it for me, GTE did it a while back, etc etc ... but I DO expect NEOM's "ride" to be a whole lot longer than anything else I'm in at the moment.
Good luck to all!
jonesie
"The SHM had a temporary effect on some investors."
I was thinking a few days ago that perhaps the PROSPECT of the SHM and the PROSPECT that something MIGHT be announced there, concurrently with PR's, (something specific, something with dollars attached to it, something HUGE or something middle-sized even) is what helped to fuel the runup pre-SHM.
Of course, if nothing $$concrete$$ comes out out of a meeting like that, the PPS will then relax a bit.
Don't get me wrong, the outstanding SHM feedback provided by some very generous and articulate folks gave me an even better feel for where NEOM could go (MANY THANKS to each and every one of you!) and I am still as long in NEOM as I get in any stock. However, IN MY VERY HUMBLE OPINION there wasn't anything "there" to continue a runup at this very moment.
Just my personal thoughts and I am perfectly happy with a relaxing PPS lol, I do love adding using profits from trading other stocks when NEOM hits those inflection points.
Good luck to all!
jonesie
TIV Chart
A few indicators have moved into position, with some potential confirming indicators heading in the right direction, based on today's trading. Low volume so far though.
I really like indicators 1, 2 & 3, with 4 generally giving good additional confirmation .. after first waiting on the first 3 each and every time. 5, 6 & 7 are good continuation indicators after the buy has been made based on 1, 2 and 3 falling into place, and sometimes waiting on 4 to confirm as well.
JMHO
Good luck to all.
jonesie
nlightn, thanks.
A cursory scan seems to show Prechter being worried.
jonesie
"who prdicted "Black Monday" back in 1987"
And Bob Prechter in Gainesville, GA as I recall.
What's Prechter saying these days I wonder? He's the Elliot Wave expert.
jonesie
OT: Please don't talk about Bears this morning.
jonesie, Atlanta native
menamiketrx LOL
Had me going for a sec.
Good thing I had read a previous post saying presentations first, Q&A second.
That was funny!
jonesie
stockcharts down?
I can't even access the website.
OT: Oh great, my power just went out.
And there are big icicles outside.
Better use up the hot water in the hot water heater while it's still hot LOL.
I guess I'll get to find out how long my UPS lasts. Go APC!
And GO NEOM!
jonesie
Okay Yellowjacket, you made me open it again :)
From .255 to .261 about 1.6MM shares traded.
That's a bunch.
jonesie
Yellowjacket, that count was .255 on the nose.
I'd have to look again to see what all happened between .255 and .26.
jonesie
wooger, you've got a point there ...
and where the RSI went today on the daily chart says oversold as well ... not that a stock can't get more oversold, eh?
re: your comment though, if I had what I thought was a bulletproof trendline drawn in where you are suggesting, taking that down-spike out of the picture ... and a stock broke down thru that like NEOM would have if it HAD been drawn there ... I would have had to sell on the breach of that line, (about a dime higher than here), hoping to buy back lower. Rules is rules, right?
Hmmmm, maybe I shouldn't get so dang generous with those lines, sounds like they keep me "in" too long ;)
(Note to self: didja learn something today?)
jonesie
Yellowjacket, re: shakeout ...
... and the relative mildness thereof ...
Yeah, pretty mild. It's when they take it below where you expect it go that it gets .. well, in salsa terms ... extra spicy hot lol.
Once I adjusted that uptrend line early yesterday I realized .25 was very possible so, no sweat. Hate to keep adjusting those though, and I try not to bend my chart to my wants lol.
jonesie
Yellowjacket .. I only show about 200,000 shares
changing hands at .255.
jonesie
wooger, agreed.
It doesn't appear that .255 was the place to be selling ... but rather to be buying ... I added, right on the uptrend line. Added some the other day at .288 too though, in case it didn't get all the way down.
Now we'll see what happens.
Posted this yesterday to show that all was not "lost" if we got in the .25 area. -jonesie
nonewsyet:
"and the people saying take it some where else have absolutely no idea whats ahead for them"
Hey, we'll figure it out, don't worry, we're big boys and girls. Some of us have been on totally trashed boards before which were totally beset with all kinds of nutcases, bashers, pumpers, you name it. Ignore works if necessary. Besides, there's nothing you can do about it.
TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!
jonesie
OT: GEEZ GUYS!!!!! brewski/nonewyet ...
TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! NOBODY HERE CARES!!!!
Moderators, no one here will mind at all if you bump BOTH of these lovebirds.
jonesie
I think he knew you were talking about options ...
... I knew it ... and it ticks me off too.
What is UP with that!!??
Please, someone raise heck at the SHM about that, ridiculous, unless everybody is working for free for the last two years, then and ONLY then would it be palatable.
Grrrrrrrrrrr.
jonesie
