got my fingers crossed that we see 5.30 today
CPWR looks like its wanting to gap up this morning, printing 7.10 in premarket
TASR looking to gap up over 10.00
IMO if it gets a firm foothold in the 10.00 range today we will see 12.00 to 14.00 next week
NOK printing 36.64 in pre market, up from yesterday's HOD

Caterpillar 4th-Quarter Profit Up on International Sales, Affirms 2008 Outlook
PEORIA, Ill. -- Caterpillar Inc., one of the world's largest construction equipment makers, said Friday its fourth-quarter earnings rose 11 percent on strong international growth.
The company earned $975 million, or $1.50 per share, compared with $882 million, or $1.32 per share in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue rose 10 percent to $12.14 billion from $11 billion in the prior-year period.
Analysts were expecting a profit of $1.50 per share on revenue of $11.79 billion, according to a poll by Thomson Financial.
The company said strong economic growth outside the United States, particularly in the mining, energy and infrastructure segments, offset weakness in the domestic market.
The company said it still expects to grow profit by 5 percent to 15 percent in 2008, and sees revenue rising 5 percent to 10 percent year-over-year. The prediction implies 2008 profit of $5.64 to $6.18 per share on revenue of $44.06 billion to $46.16 billion.
"While we expect anemic growth in the U.S. economy, we continue to see positive conditions for our sales in most of the rest of the world," the company said in a statement.
Analysts were expecting a profit of $5.98 per share on revenue of $47.8 billion.

Worldwide retail sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles were down 6.1 percent in the quarter, and 14.2 percent in the U.S. The company said the domestic heavyweight motorcycle market was down 9 percent in the quarter. Overseas, Harley's sales were up 17.4 percent.

ABK keep an eye on it today
Quote from story I linked in previous post
Investors looking for reasons to buy also appeared cheered by a report from the U.K.'s Evening Standard newspaper that said billionaire Wilbur Ross was in talks to acquire troubled bond insurer Ambac Financial Group Inc. Financial woes at many U.S. bond insurers have in recent weeks caused headaches for investors worldwide who have worried that the credit crisis could worsen should one of the companies buckle under an inability to draw new business.
Word of Ross' move follows comments this week by New York State regulators saying they would consider lending support to shore up the struggling bond insurance industry. The move helped reassure Wall Street and helped make room for stocks to rally in recent days.

could be another good day IMO, MSFT news seemed to help out
GM Bobby
I was sitting here looking at CPWR and trying to get a read on it. A few of my thoughts are this
On the daily it has started to turn but many of the indicators aren't showing what I consider to be real strength however they are lined up very nice for a run. I find this very attractive
On the other hand MACD hasn't crossed yet, PPO and ADX don't have any bullish crosses in site for awhile, Full STO and RSI 14 are still low as well as Williams %R, this makes me a bit cautious
The reason this throws up a caution to me is because of the way it has traded. It has traded at nearly every level between $4 and $12 within the last couple years with wild swings. IMO it could be the start of a really good run or a mild adjustment before another fall. (see the weekly chart below)
It has had periods of long sustained runs so it is possible this is just the start of one of those.
IMO it is risky at current time and anything is possible, I would watch it trade for a day or so before entering to get a feel for how it trades and if it looks like a good run is starting I would keep a close eye on it after entry. I would also keep a close eye on news and developments as it has a trend of gapping both up and down.
Weekly
It definitely came unwound
As for tax credits for Solar, I know they are are good until the end of 2008. I haven't heard of, or been able to find where they have been extended beyond that but with the energy problems and the push for green energy I can't imagine that they won't end up extending them.
Solar plays
Looks like Solar plays made a nice comeback today, here's a list of 19 that I keep on watch. 17 of the 19 were green today, most with gains over 5%

Dooooh, never thought I'd say it but I love POT!! Looks like one could make good money buying and selling POT as well
I might also add that that ain't no cheap POT!!
I couldn't have said it any better.
In looking back over this week and into last week there have been some great plays made, some I had money in some you did, some we just watched in awe and wished we would have bought, unfortunately there just aren't enough funds yet to play everything we like.
Today:
NOK you rode it from 34.84 to close at 36.48 4.7% and more likely tomorrow
CC I got in at 4.83 this morning, could have got out at 5.00 for a 3.5% gain but decided to hold overnight, hopefully we get back up in the low 5.00's tomorrow
Yesterday I grabbed TASR at 8.65 and sold right before close at 9.12 for a 5.4% gain. It gapped this morning and opened at 9.21 and hit hod of 9.96. Had I held it would have been a 15.1% gain at HOD
you made a nice flip on SWHC that never got posted on the board, don't remember the exact numbers but remember it was a nice gain
1/22 SVN I bought at 1.47 and sold the next day at 1.61 for a 9.5% gain. Note I had some from 1.71 that I averaged down so my profit wasn't that great but I got out with some, It hit HOD today at 2.00 and fell back in the 1.50's, I'll most likely grab some more as it will go right back up.
beyond that some others to note:
RT, called it at 6.00 last week, hit 7.75 today 29.2% in less than 10 days
BONT you called it and it ran up 37% in 13 days
BBI you made mention of it in the 2.50 area, I didn't buy til 3.20's, hit HOD today at 3.59 then fell to 3.14 and ran back up to 3.47.
ETFC I bought at 3.32 if I remember right and sold at 2.98 for a 11.4% loss. Would have been fine on it had I held but did make money on other plays that made up for it.
FINL bought on 1/15 at 1.685 sold on 1/16 at 1.78 for 5.6%
I have no doubt we are on the right track and I'm sure I missed a couple of plays. I'm also sure it's going to be a great year as it seems every time we tweak something it just keeps getting a little better.
I've been there and done that. That is one reason I do not play OTCBB or Pink stocks any longer. Not to say I've not been tempted by some but I have learned and am still learning to take emotion out of the trades and stick to the plan I've set for myself. From Jan 07 to around Nov 07 I played nothing but OTCBB and Pinks I made some good money on some and lost some good money on some. I'm not in any way saying that money can't be made on them. With my trading style I have found I do better and I'm more consistent playing big board plays between $1 and $10 and shooting for 3-5% profit. So I stick with what has been working best for me.
I've still got a couple pinks and OTCBB plays in my portfolio that I use as reminders. One in particular I've got right at about $2500 invested in that did a r/s and is now worth under $1.00, saving it for a write off when I decide to use it. The other has been halted for quite some time and just sits there. One thing about it, the price has been the most stable it has ever seen. Then there are the others that I took as lotto plays and figure better to just sit on them in the event they ever do get some action.
Hang in there and don't give up, I believe it is going to be a great year regardless of what the market sentiment is. Take advantage of the down time and do some paper trading so when you get reloaded you know what to do with the ammo.

It's just beginning, there will be plenty of good opportunities with it especially when it gets straightened out and really starts moving.
I'm weighing it out and may just buy some options on it
ETFC just had a 4.10 print after hours
I see that NOK did you well today, congrats!
Congrats on COPI, it's looking great
I loaded up on CC at 4.83, see if I can't get another nice flip out of it
MGI (Moneygram intl)
I would loved to have shorted this one anywhere around Jan 01
Anyway, yesterdays candle, tremors of a recovery or quivers of death? I let you decide that one but may be worth watching either way.
RAD (Rite Aid Corp)
I see resistance around the 2.25 or 2.26 area, if it gets through that and takes off next resistance will be just under 2.75. I also like that it closed strong yesterday near HOD, but then again what didn't?? Also coming off a double bottom here as well.
RAMR (Ram Holdings)
possibility of some large percentage gains on this one IMO
BKUNA (BankUnited financial corp)
another beat down financial that has been rebounding well
SCA I had listed this on my watchlist from 01/01/08. It's a shame I had lost interest in it and quit watching it, made some super nice moves over the last two days.
I'll be watching it this morning as it had been beat way down and may have some more in it, especially the way financials are rebounding.
ETFC, I'm going to be keeping a close eye on this one today
SVN has some not so good news out this morning, mentions IRS with little details, not a good thing IMO
Jan 23 - Sun-Times Media Group Inc (SVN.N: Quote, Profile, Research), which owns the Chicago Sun-times newspaper, said it received a notice of proposed adjustments to its U.S. tax returns for 1996 through 2003 from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Sun-Times plans to ask the IRS to reconsider the disputed proposed adjustments, it said in a statement.
The company is evaluating the impact the proposed adjustments may have on its financial statements, it added.

TASR, sold off at 9.12 before EOD for a 4.7% gain
TASR slowed up a bit at 9.00 mark, if it can hold and make another push it should do well here for EOD
looking real nice, I'm liking it!
TASR on the move, grabbed some a few minutes ago at 8.65
Anytime there is an incident that involves law enforcement and a death, someone (more times than not everyone) involved is getting sued, including the manufacture of whatever product was used. Taser has an exceptional record so far in that they have not lost a wrongful death suit yet.
Too many traders don't understand the way all of this plays out and only see the word lawsuit and then believe this is the end of the company.
IMO law suits will continue to be filed and Taser will continue to win, it's just the nature of the business they are in.
yep, when it catches traction I look for it to punch a big doughnut hole right through the MA50
Yep I can't believe it has fell like it has. Taser has the XREP in field testing now and it is believed it will hit the market this year. That will only add to their revenues, not that they haven't been making enough as it is off the X26 and accessories.
The one thing I love about the X26 for revenues is that every time one is fired that's just short of a $20.00 bill to put another cartridge on.
I can't see stinger's submitting for a patent review as any type of major threat to Taser and their business and think TASR has been sold off in fear. One thing TASR does and does well is fight in court, I look for them to pull through without even a mark and most likely they will drive an oak stake through the heart of stinger when it is all said and done.
KKD (Krispy Kreme Doughnuts)
One to watch as well
