Michael Douglas To Star in 'Tragic Indifference'

Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban's 2929 Prods. is stepping up its game, signing Michael Douglas to star in the courtroom thriller Tragic Indifference. Pic is based on the real-life story of Donna Baily, a single mother who was paralyzed back in 2000 following a car accident in which her Ford Explorer flipped over. Douglas will play Tab Turner, the attorney who helped force her liability case into court (instead of going the "keep quiet and take the money" route) where he scored her a huge settlement, as well as managed to get some of Ford's top guns to show up to the hospital to apologize for the faults in their vehicle. Now there's something you don't see every day.
Stephen Gerard will pen the script; he'll work off Adam Penenberg's 2003 book of the same name. I'm actually looking forward to seeing Douglas' new film, King of California, after his previous three (You, Me and Dupree, The Sentinel, The In-Laws) left me feeling -- how shall I say it -- indifferent, I suppose. Speaking about the role, Douglas said, "This gives me the chance to play a different kind of character. I played a lawyer once, in Fatal Attraction, and there wasn't much about the law in that picture." He does have a point; though I wonder if Tragic Indifference will include any scenes in which Douglas and the not-yet-cast single mother engage in risque activity in the backseat of a Ford truck. I mean, this isn't the greatest film in the world for Ford -- the least you can do is show some of the benefits of owning their product. Then again, that would be so wrong on so many different levels; I don't even want to go there.

This all depends on how you look at it (now we just had a 500K trade) There are many who bought a year ago when it was 200M or less and they controlled 3 - 5M shares.. Now its sub penny and they quadrupled the OS.. Basically you are right.. Sure would be nice if they had a real buy back in a year or less.
I cannot disagree!
Are we on "Lock-down"? no trades and almost an hour?
In the past they (Longview) were the problem because they were the source of most of their loans. They appear to be pretty schrud (SP) when it comes to slamming a company. On the opposite side they also could be the catalyst to increase it to $10.00 Who knows?
I was told that just because they got the vote to authorize the share increase to the 2B number that when they issue shares for anything (Payments on lunch or electricity) the S-8 needs to be filed.. I do realize that it can be 125 days old at the most but we are not that far out of whack. They need to file their quarterlies by May 15? + -
When the next filing is released we will see how accurate your sources are. I do understand that the quarter ends at the end of March so we will see.. I still haven't seen any S-8's They need to be filed in a timely manner.. Haven't seen any And the past volume could be a serious indicator that there are many FTD's
If you look at your link carefully that is something else and not the real deal its The House That Wouldn't Sell!!
Columbia closes deal for 'School'
Rodriguez, Ohlson book gets film makeover
By MICHAEL FLEMING
'Kabul Beauty School'
"Kabul Beauty School" is getting a feature makeover, courtesy of Columbia Pictures and producer Erwin Stoff.
In a mid-six-figure against seven-figure deal, Columbia closed a deal Friday night for screen rights, just as the Random House-published book by Deborah Rodriguez and Kristin Ohlson hit The New York Times bestseller list. Several studios bid on the book.
Rodriguez, a divorced hairdresser from Michigan with two kids, decided to give her life a complete makeover and headed to Afghanistan in 2002, shortly after the Taliban had been toppled. There she found women who were eager to come out from under the veils they'd been forced to wear.
She opened a beauty school, with donations from American beauty companies and other benefactors, and tried to mesh in a culture that was still male-dominated.
Studio and Stoff sparked to the story as a way to tell the story of war-torn Afghanistan's attempt to recover from the devastating rule of the Taliban, through Rodriguez's personal journey. CAA brokered the deal.
Stoff is producing the Will Smith-starrer "I Am Legend" and "The Night Watchman," the David Ayer-directed film that stars Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker.

ON SCREEN
Longing for 'Lonely Hearts'
We reported Friday that Lonely Hearts will be coming back to Jacksonville, where it was filmed (but only for one night, May 3, at the San Marco Theatre). It won't be playing in thousands of theaters across the country, though; in fact, it's not scheduled to make it to theaters outside of Los Angeles and New York.
Reviews have been mixed, but Stephen Holden's review in The New York Times was close to a rave. Some excerpts:
"Beautifully photographed . . . succeeds better than many in balancing the philosophical with the visceral . . . Mr. Travolta surprises with the depth of his acting . . . as fictional characters in a movie that is fetishistic in its attention to period detail, Mr. Leto and Ms. Hayek work well together as an unsavory couple two rungs down the social ladder from Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck in Double Indemnity."
Hey, anytime someone even mentions Double Indemnity in connection with your movie, you must have done something right.

Yes they can and are on the SHO list (if you scroll down) but that doesn't mean anything. First they need to issue paper stock that is converted into electronic form which then is issued into the market. There can be a lag of a few days and can be longer than a week to get everything properly posted. But it is on the list.. Usually (I wish I could find out about the requirements for the posting of the S-8, time requirements (days to file with the SEC)) but yes they can be because the receiver of the stock certificate may have an out of country MM.. This takes time and bashers will use this to shake more shares out.. I have confirmed (and yes it can happen) this with different stock brokerages including Ameritrade.
Certain securities included in the July 7, 2006, Regulation SHO Threshold List published on the NASDAQ Trader website should not have been included. Firms are advised to refer to NASDAQ's General News item and review the revised list of securities subject to the Regulation SHO requirements for July 7, 2006.

The fact is and Doogle can back me up, the company though has had very good films , but not the big blockbuster one needed to pull in the big money, is still very appealing as it is now trip zero.
Let's separate the company from the stock.
I've seen fraud stocks run 500-100% that have fabricated everything from releases to shares out.
This can run in the blink of an eye as we say last week on momentum alone, without the need for a blockbuster movie.
Look at CTSG today, with loan defaults and next to nothing in revenues, yet momentum drives it.
Add a blockbuster movie, reality TV show, and this goes ballistic, without that, releasing decent movies with big name cast members, no dilution, announcements out of Cannes, short covering,,well, you can see the potential without having to put forth the next "The GodFather".
You said this better than I ever could!!!!!
Then many many investors would be filthy rich
Rebel, How is dilution going to cause a squeeze? If dilution is happening and they are bought/sold into the market, their might be a temporary shortage when the stock certificates are converted to electronic stock the shortage is covered. So how is this going to cause a squeeze?
I do not know why but we could very well hit .0008 today I just got a feeling.....
Somebody is really trying to tank this puppy??
Unfortunately I have been with them for 3.5 years and have some (a small amount at .15) and have doubled and doubled and doubled down and I know just about all their tricks. Dilution is one of their plays and we could get lucky, some day. Made a killing in SIRI & GOOG and still hold 350 shares so anything here is just a small loss in comparison. I have been thru all of it and know just about everything they have ever said and done. I have about 70 Google alerts so when something as dribble as "Valhalla Motion Pictures", "What I did on my Interstellar, Hypergalactic Summer Vacation" or German media fund "Equity Pictures" farts I hear about it. Today and this year I do not need the tax loss but should they loose it all (I doubt it) I can at least carry it forward it till and when I sell Goog.
Just give us a TV deal for 2 or 3 years and we are looking at some big numbers, very big numbers.. I can wait..for the upside...

Family Room Acquires the Rights to Remake "Terror Train"
From Rebecca Murray,
LOS ANGELES, March 25, 2005 - Family Room Entertainment Corporation, in conjunction with its wholly owned subsidiary, Emmett/Furla Films, Maverick Films and Integrated Films and Management, is pleased to announced that they have acquired the rights to remake the 1980 horror classic, TERROR TRAIN and have signed Ryan Elsinger to write the screenplay. Emmett/Furla Films is also in negotiations with a third party financier to fund the production of the picture. The picture is slated to begin pre-production in late summer.
The original picture, which was directed by Roger Spottiswoode and starred Jamie Lee Curtis, follows a group of college coeds being terrorized by a masked killer during a New Year's Masquerade on a chartered train.
Emmett/Furla and Integrated previously partnered to set up a remake of the horror classic, "THE AMITYVILLE HORROR," with NuImage and Dimension Films. "THE AMITYVILLE HORROR" will be released nation-wide on April 15, 2005.
Co-chairs of Family Room Entertainment Randall Emmett and George Furla stated: "We are exited about the recent developments with TERROR TRAIN and we are also enthusiastic about the marketplace's continued demand for new and exciting horror pictures. Given the creative elements that are assembled, which now includes Ryan, we are very hopeful about the future of this project."

The deal was negotiated by attorney Greg S. Bernstein on behalf of Raff and Lonnie Ramati on behalf of Nu Image.

Douglas Doings
Douglas_michaelOne of the celebrity golf tournament players in the "Michael Douglas & Friends" tourney will be Catherine Zeta Jones. And the Douglases are looking to a teaming on screen in "Racing the Monsoon," to film in India. But Michael cautions--it all depends on the script, natch.
Meanwhile, he is delighted with his "King of California," which bows in Sept. and shows him in a different light--and look. He is totally bearded in the tragicomedy as he searches for Spanish treasure, which he's convinced is buried under a Costco store in the San Fernando Valley. His daughter is played by Evan Rachel Wood, and Mike Cahill makes his directorial debut.
Zetajones_catherine_2 Also, Par and CBS DVD divisions have just released Season 1, Volume 1 of "The Streets of San Francisco," starring Douglas and Karl Malden. Michael said he knew nothing about the DVD release of the shows from the year 1972!
Meanwhile, wife Catherine is awaiting release of her two films "No Reservations" and "Death Defying Acts." The Douglases are enjoying the quiet family life in Bermuda with son Dylan, 6, and daughter Carys celebrating her fourth birthday.
The "Michael Douglas & Friends" golf tourney plays May 28 & 29 at Trump International Golf Course in Palos Verdes and airs June 10 on NBC. It benefits the Motion Picture & Television Foundation for which the charity has raised over $4.5 million in its nine years. Players, so far, include Donald Trump, Martin Sheen, Josh Duhamel, Heather Locklear and Cheryl Ladd.

Thanks for keeping the charts up to date.. Merci, Obrigado, Danke, Thanks
Nice paint job for the EOD
28.5 million dump
And a new low of the day on the bid
Let me get this straight..
Good morning Doog,,,
When they file the quarterly reports the count at the time the quarterly report ended, it was accurate.. Then they file an S-8 which increases it proportionately then you have the old plus the new numbers.. Now my question is how long after they issue new shares do they need to file the S-8? keeping a running total???
Can anyone show me in print anywhere where the actual number of Outstanding Shares is???? I am not calling some boiler room or phone jockey..
I am talking about filings in chronological order.
Actually I think that they might increase the theater count.. General Public rates it 3/4 stars and Rolling stone Mag gives it 2.5/4
All not bad but the general public wants to see John Travolta, James Gandolfini & Salma Hayek's (Boobs)
http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/movie/10107161/review/14144022/lonely_hearts
What I think is that they have been getting allot of calls and they know that they haven't put out a PR in a long time so to smooth everything over for awhile they put out that PR and got everybody to wait another 6 weeks............
"Family Room remains hopeful that one or more of these projects will result in an announcement during the Cannes Film Festival (May 16-27, 2007)."
Your numbers are wrong unless you can show me different I am going to change the thread.. You posted a link in your message and I pasted the information.
