every time the MMs take a breath, I feel this lump in my stomach because I'm outta cash....I wish I could play the dips, this stock is going up in such a healthy fashion. Hell, I'd be happy to see .10 in two weeks, but today would be just dandy as long as there are no gaps!!
it should be noted that AMEP has been raising its 52-week high all week....
looks like the MMs are trying to drop the price...lots of sells at bid with low volume. the days/shorts are pulling their hair out about now!
Alot of these MMs make their money by comissions, so they follow the trends closely and try to be at the front of the line when the direction continues/shifts....NITE, SCHB and TDCM have been doing this all week. ETRD a little too, but I suspect they're a little more conservative about playing that game because it can be dangerous when real buyers flood cuz they'll miss the nice profits.
What's most important to me, however, is that the list of buyers within .002 of the last trade is much larger than the list of sellers within .002 of the last trade, which IMO means the MMs are squeezing pennies out of this on the way up.
The demand is high, the supply is getting lower....ah, you gotta love bid'ness
I think right now the MMs aren't sure what to do. The bid/ask backlog keeps switching back and forth without signifcant volume. I think once there are 3 or 4 .0865s with 2 or less .087s tis will start to shift up faster. But for now the boat is just rocking in place.
breath coming...sooner than i thought though
congratulations longs! the .08s are here and coming on strong :)
PBLS: I have alot of faith in this stock...in fact, when I bought in at .116 (yep, that's 11.6 cents), I decided not to stop loss it, even when it dropped below .06. I 'vegas'd my loss, which made it much easier to accept emotionally. I'm glad I did...the CEO's post on Monday says alot about the company's future, even if returning to .12 is a ways off....keep in mind that even if PBLS ran out of work after 4 years of Katrina rebuild, the stock is going to be worth quite a bit during that time.
hey pnew....is there a public link to this? while I'm not certain what this means, particularly concerning the MMs, this kinda of news deserves some DD of its own :)
hey, great news! do you have a source you can link us to??
if it does backtrack down to .06 tomorrow, it will likely happen in small increments, giving most people plenty of time to reposition if they want. The MMs worked awfully hard to maintain their positions today, and given the stock's strength I suspect any dips it takes tomorrow will be made up and then some, so most medium-shorts will hesitate to make a play
strange....alot of selling way outside the bid/ask, but the bid/ask doesn't change....alot of it was small 5000 share trades, but some of them were huge. I've never seen this before...anyone know what this is about?
yep, and it's a deep one :)
OT: I was right, I think, about the breath the MMs took on AMEP...at almost precisely 3:00 pm EST the volume started going up....I think we'll see .08 by the time the day is over.
the MMs are probably taking a longer breath this time in anticipation of the 3:00-4:00 pm buyins...remember what the volume did during those hours the past couple days?
yeah, the volume did come to a screeching halt...perhaps it's just another 'breath'?
the way AMEP is running today cuz of the NG news, when PBLS announces those O&NG acquisitions the stock is going to head for the moon....I just wish it would happen today so the adrenaline rush would pop my head off my shoulders :)
holy cow, NITE is positioned at .075 ask....we might just see .08 by EOD!!!
I cannot believe what I'm seeing...a rapid increase without a gap, without a PR???
is it true that MMs get insider news before the public does?
yeah, they did kind of strike me as 'after-the-fact' signal changers...
btw, and I know this is irrelevant, but American Bulls moved this to sell-if. I don't see why, if the stock was going to retrace heavily, or if the MMs were shorting it, you'd think it would have dipped down by now. You'd also think that the MMs bids would be well below what they're at. Just my $.02....anyone know what AMEP's target date is for drilling to begin?
So are the MMs going to naked short his one too? (posted this on SI as well...) it looked like NITE was trying really hard during trading today
will we see .07 by eod?
Cowboy, I echo that sentiment and want to add some more meat behind it.
If we believe the CEO (which I think we can at this point) about the 'no debt' policy, Phoenix does not need the investor base to survive. They will not need to pump the stock to get acquisition money, given their upcoming revenue, and they will not care about the stock price as much as other companies because a) they are not listed on OTCBB yet, so the price will definitely fluctuate, and b) they will still be raking in a ton of money regardless of the stock price. Naked shorting this stock by NITE et al will only hurt penny investors while PBLS is still a pink sheet...when they becoming fully reporting it will be much harder to naked short this stock into oblivion, especially after the 2006 numbers become public.
Regardless, even if the stock was $.0001/share the company will still rake in the same money without debt, and the stock will remain undervalued, as it already is and will be until next year. In my opinion, it is only a matter of time before PBLS goes above $1/share, and that could happen tomorrow or the end of 2006, but no later. The giant drop after .128 was probably due to combination of a) standard retracement, b) stop loss orders, and c) naked shorting. The MMs made alot of money but need to cover their positions before the stock will increase again, and that should happen today or in the next couple days.
Bottom line, this company is a great investment, period. Don't expect an immediate goldmine, though it will go up again very soon, but do expect a couple orders magnitude increase by the end of next year.
probably the MMs doing some coverage before the rise. there will be definitely be some profit takers after PRs like this. Alot of people (like me, for example) have long positions in this stock but are still willing to play the cycles as a short (with small amounts of extra cash), just to pick up a few extra bucks, to pay for my lunch, for example :)
I suspect the MMs shake out the shorts during this process prior to the gradual increase. Pay this no mind...even if the stock closes in the red, it will likely go up in due time.
That being said, I would like to hear word of signed contracts and their value. That would certainly make the stock go in a specific direction and stick there. This PR, while very promising and certainly good news, keeps the MMs driving the roller-coaster because there is no guarantee of profits without a contract.
This should be an interesting couple of weeks. I'm assuming that the MMs covered their positions 10 days ago because they knew this event was coming. So I'm going to take a crack at this, being a relatively inexperienced investor...here's my take:
the MMs will allow this stock to gradually rise, and ride the trade commission wave along the way up. But so many of us have long positions in this stock the demand will not be as high. So when the PPS peaks it will *still* be under-valued. This will be followed by a typical retracement and then a steady rise to its real value over the next month or so. This would be a great time for Phoenix to start their audits, if they haven't already done so. When the audits are complete, and Phoenix moves off the pink sheets, this stock will go through a major upward correction.
Critiques, please!!
samnotsamuel,
You're right about the rapid growth aspect of this, but given the growth and company worth the real question is: is the stock currently undervalued? For me, that's what keeps me in it...I think the stock is worth more at this stage than it's being bought/sold at.
Personally, I think everyone from shorts to longs should take a deep breath and wait a couple weeks until the audit info is published and the SEC filing is submitted. There seems to be alot of anxiety and panic going with IGTN, and I really think it's developed a life of its own outside the actual worth of the company.
