Anavex CEO Christopher Missling on Alzheimer prevention:
The good news is that, in a pre-clinical model, we have shown that our drug is preventing Alzheimer. The animals that took the drug before they became diseased, they never developed the symptoms of Alzheimer.

Computer Simulation Model
Study Presented at CNS Summit 2013 Suggests ANAVEX 2-73 Will Have Clinically Detectable and Meaningful Effect in Alzheimer’s Disease, Especially When Combined With Aricept®
Christopher U. Missling, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer of Anavex, said, “The data is quite encouraging since the study focused purely on symptomatic effects and no sigma-1 effect was implemented or considered. With this study we added another layer of positive evidence to advance ANAVEX 2-73 in combination with donepezil into clinical trials.”
About ANAVEX 2-73
ANAVEX 2-73 is an orally available small molecule being investigated for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. In addition to pre-clinical data indicating that ANAVEX 2-73 has the potential to prevent, halt and/or reverse the course of Alzheimer’s disease, there was also a highly encouraging synergistic effect observed between ANAVEX 2-73 and Aricept® (donepezil). The combined therapeutics produced up to 80% greater reversal of memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease models versus when the drugs were used individually.

Yesterday's Sphere 3D video is not the one Peter Bookman referenced.
The video Sphere 3D released today was shown at the Microsoft Technical Center in Silicon Valley on May 20th. It was after that event when Peter Bookman tweeted that Microsoft was putting together a video.
Below are a couple of posts referencing the video -

@Lovethe80x @Sphere3D I will be sure to let everyone know as soon as I can get that info. Keep your eyes out for it and other stuff ;)
Not correct. The 2.3mm short on the TMXV were never added to the existing Nasdaq short numbers after ANY's delisting from the TSXV.
Sphere 3D has been after the regulators, but, it appears that the U.S. regulators have no influence when dealing with the Canadian regulators.
Excellent post Chairmanoftheboard!
More fiction shot down!
I'm sure their are plenty of companies out there that have sold for billions and had zero revenue. WhatsApp for instance. It sold for 17 billion if I remember correctly.
It's going to be hilarious when the buy out offer for ANY is made public, leaving the investors in Anson's short fund puking!
CEO Missling bought another 1,000 shares on June 8th.

Thanks mac, things are coming together nicely.
Ya, ya, I know all of that. Here's the key words, "limited availability and trial basis".
Then came the MSFT project and Corel was put on hold indefinitely.
This is getting ridiculous -
The shorts keep downplaying ANY's relationship with MSFT, calling it typical - Blah Blah Blah.
Here's some of what we know -
Sphere 3D Corporation (NASDAQ: ANY), creator of the Glassware 2.0™ Windows container technology for application delivery, announced a strategic collaboration to enable support of Glassware 2.0 on Microsoft Azure.

The plan was adopted on 6-3-15 and the first purchase was on 6-4-15 -
The purchases reported in this Form 4 were effected pursuant to a Rule 10B5-1 trading plan adopted by the reporting person on June 3, 2015.
http://ih.advfn.com/p.php?pid=nmona&article=67176094&symbol=AVXL
Missling knew the approximate price he was going to pay and is giving a bullish signal, IMO. Otherwise, why would he start the plan now and buy the next day? It will be interesting to see if he will be buying everyday.
The former CEO of NVIV had the same plan and sold every day for months it seemed. He started with 3,000 shares a day and then raised the number to 12,000 shares a day.
I interpret CEO Misslings buy as a signal that the Phase 2 trial is doing well so far.
The Company plans to release the top line results in the 3rd qtr.
Again???
Yup, Missling already has mucho shares, so he's not buying for the potential profit. He's sending a message, IMO.
Includes 2,000,000 stock options that have vested and 1,000,000 shares of restricted common stock that have vested pursuant to the achievement of certain objectives. Does not include 3,000,000 shares of restricted common stock that vest pursuant to the achievement of certain objectives.

CEO buys 1,000 shares on 6/4. Small amount, but, his buying sends a positive message, IMO.
The purchases reported in this Form 4 were effected pursuant to a Rule 10B5-1 trading plan adopted by the reporting person on June 3, 2015.
http://ih.advfn.com/p.php?pid=nmona&article=67176094&symbol=AVXL
Looks like there is quite a bit of shorting going on. Last week the borrow rate on AVXL at Fidelity was 4%.
Today it is 15.75% and the shares are hard to borrow.
I would rather see shorting than selling. We know the shorts will be buyers in the future.
Yes, permission was granted to treat 20 more patients. Should cohort 11 be completed without a DLT only 2 will be needed, if Leo isn't pulling our leg -
They just received permission to expand the trial by 20 more patients.
Yes, but the intent of adding 20 more patients may have been to make sure that they could cover this cohort in case of a DLT, which, would require an additional 3 patients at the current dose and then 12 more to confirm.
Leo says Phase 1 is over in 2/3 months.
Is he pulling our leg?
Thanks for posting Leo's response -
This statement by Leo is a bit confusing to me:
Over the next 2-3 months we can expect
Kevetrin concluding/ conclusion Phase 1.
He must be telling us that the current cohort is the final one and that there will be no 12 patient final cohort due to the trial ending before Kevetrin reached the MTD. I didn't realize that this was possible.
If this is the final cohort, then the U of B trial may start this year. I am all for that.

WolfWayne, if the trials go well you should have plenty to buy a house and then some in 8 years.
Given the financial position and upcoming Q3 results, what are the chances of up listing this year?
If the Phase 2 trial goes well and AVXL partners there is a chance of up listing this year. Next year is a better bet though and only if the Phase 2 trial goes well.
Also, what role does the $0.42 exercisable warrants play in continued price movement beyond $0.42. In other words, I don't know anything about warrants. Is Lincoln Park likely to sell or hold and cash in at a much higher price? Are they obligated to sell at $0.42? When they do sell, how does that affect the PPS?
Usually, warrants aren't exercised until the price is well above the strike price (0.42) unless the warrants are about to expire, which isn't the case here. Some warrants may be exercised and the shares sold if the price goes above a dollar.
Others may have a different view. Good Luck!
Alright, you're not fooling me. Show me the signed contract between Sphere 3D and Novarad:)
The initial PR called for a sale of 1,281,250 shares with full warrants. This mornings announcement has upped that to 1,621,250 shares with a full warrant. A 26.5% increase.
A "hint of how well Phase 2 is going" would not surprise me.
CEO's like to use these type of conferences to leak tidbits of info.
This is what I was referring to -
http://www.infoworld.com/article/2613268/ipad/the-ipad-revolution-is-coming-to-a-hospital-near-you.html
Recognizing the false risks in mobile health care
Just this week, Derek Smith, co-founder of Orchard Parc, a desktop virtualization vendor, took to Twitter with the kinds of outrageous claims that scare off health care pros and spook health care IT staff into buying expensive management and virtualization tools to solve a nonexistent problem.
First, he claimed that hospitals risk "average" costs of $2 million in the event of a privacy breach, and he suggested the risk of a breach was much higher if mobile devices were used. Yes, it can cost that much, but I know many people who work in health care IT management, and they tell me that the costs are usually much lower, involving notification to the affected patients and the administrative costs of reporting the incident and implementing a correction plan (usually training and monitoring). Many HIPAA privacy breaches result in very low to relatively low fines, as long as they are promptly reported and a corrective action plan is issued. To get a meaningful fine means the organization covered up the breach, then got caught or has shown a severe pattern of negligence -- that's when the government really punishes you.
Then he claimed that 40 percent of HIPAA privacy breaches were from mobile devices -- not true at all. That stat actually refers to breaches from lost or stolen laptops that weren't encrypted. When I challenged him on that, he admitted it was laptops, not mobile devices, but then claimed that the "Wall of Shame" database of HIPAA privacy breaches (they are all made public) showed seven "portable device" breaches in its first 50 entries as proof of the mobile risk. I read through every single entry in that database categorized as "portable" and not one was a smartphone or tablet. They were USB drives, backup drives, backup tapes, and laptops (all unencrypted; lost or stolen encrypted devices and media aren't considered privacy breaches).

Hi SE, I'm not going to waste my time listening to that, but, would like to know if the interview is new or is one where DS was called out for BSing about the numbers.
Erik Kelly made the below statement in the middle of February. At the time, we all knew transformational events were in the works, we just didn't know what or when -
Our annualized revenue run rate has grown from less than US$4 million in Q1 2014 to over US$36 million in Q4 2014, and we have set our goal for an annualized run rate of over US$160 million in Q4 2015.

Sphere 3D and Microsoft to Deliver Glassware 2.0 Windows Application Containers on Microsoft Azure
Initially Targeted to Education Customers, the Collaboration Aims to Enable Desktop Application Workloads to Move to the Cloud, and Provides Expanded Options for Organizations Looking to Move Their Local Workloads to the Data Center
SAN JOSE, CA–(Marketwired – Mar 9, 2015) - Sphere 3D Corporation (NASDAQ: ANY), creator of the Glassware 2.0™ Windows container technology for application delivery, announced a strategic collaboration to enable support of Glassware 2.0 on Microsoft Azure.
Working together, Sphere 3D and Microsoft will provide organizations with the tools to make cloud migration of Windows based end-user computing applications from physical infrastructure to Azure simple and rapid. Glassware 2.0 container technology running in Azure will help enterprise customers achieve one of the guiding principles of cloud — simplifying IT infrastructure.
“When we created Glassware 2.0, we envisioned a time where any application, regardless of its hardware or operating dependencies, could be easily delivered across multiple platforms from the cloud,” said Eric Kelly, CEO of Sphere 3D. “Today, by joining forces with Microsoft, we have taken a substantial step towards realizing that vision.”
As recently stated in an industry survey conducted by Rightscale, less than 20% of enterprise applications are running in the cloud. Glassware 2.0 containerization technology provides organizations with the ability to virtualize those applications that were previously deemed too difficult to move to cloud. Utilizing Glassware 2.0 container technology can assist in reducing the cost and complexity associated with migration from local workstations to the data center.
“We are committed to providing our customers with new and innovative ways to implement their cloud strategy,” said Vibhor Kapoor, Director, Microsoft Azure Product Marketing. “By working closely with Sphere 3D, we are able to continue to deliver on that commitment and provide a new level of flexibility for organizations looking for scalable application delivery from the cloud.”
Initially, Glassware 2.0 enabled workloads in Azure will be aimed at the needs of the education segment, and available through a select number of authorized partners. Later in 2015, you will see additional use cases and expanded availability with a focus on ensuring the simple and efficient migration of applications to Azure.
About Glassware 2.0
Glassware 2.0 utilizes proprietary technology to achieve application virtualization without the requirement to virtualize the desktop. The Glassware 2.0 family of technologies is comprised of the Glassware 2.0 protocol, microvisor, containers, management, and clustering. Glassware 2.0 utilizes containers to run multiple instances of the same application on a Glassware 2.0-enabled server or appliance, and the ability to share binaries, libraries or the Glassware 2.0 Microvisor. Within these containers, Sphere 3D allows access to only the necessary elements of the operating system an application requires to run. This can include applications that utilize a wide array of Windows-based operating systems, such as Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, etc.
