Best,
Answers to some recent questions!
Looking at the mail bag recently, here are some recent questions we've received:
1) What is your scanning method?
Trade Ideas takes a real time market data feed and constantly crunches volume, volatility, price, and percentages to arrive at many of our alerts. Our alerts strive for quality by filtering out random prints and noise from the data to arrive at a pattern worthy of an alert.
For example, Volume is one of the most important considerations in the alerts server. Without volume, how do you know that a price action is real? It is very common to see sudden spikes and retracements, where the price moves quickly, but only one trade was made at the extreme price. Statistical analysis is used to separate the real opportunities from the flukes.
For the really curious, read a more detailed explanation at: http://www.trade-ideas.com/DOSA/
2) How do you scan for stocks?
Using a powerful array of proprietary Statistical Analysis Servers, we crunch all of the data from our real time market data provider and then broadcast the results to our clients through a browser. Trade-Ideas is entirely web-based. All of the hard work is done in our data center. You do not need a powerful computer, a lot of memory, or even a high speed network connection to see all of the interesting events in the market. Our approach is simple, combine unparalleled analytics power with simplicity and ease of use.
3) What programs or tools do you use?
Trade-Ideas can work as a stand-alone application. Although we offer some integration with other products and services, we do not require you to have any other products or services.
As a way to enhance your existing tools, Trade-Ideas is designed to easily integrate with your existing tools that do not provide you with idea generation. We integrate with market data found throughout the internet. We also integrate with institutional and professional direct access trading platforms.
Take our link destination feature for example. The link destination allows the user to select what happens when s/he clicks on a stock symbol. The user can select from a list of standard links, or can create a custom link.

New Alerts Added
We just added alerts that inform you when stocks are crossed and locked. These alerts are good at signaling aggresive accumulation or distribution of a stock.
Here is the link to the help section that describes these new alerts:

Trade Ideas now Integrates with eSignal!
We completed the integration of our premier, real time alerts with one of the most trusted and largest data providers, eSignal. You can now click on a symbol in a Trade-Ideas alert window and instantly populate your eSignal charts or Level 2 monitor. It is very fast and it removes the task of repeatedly entering stock symbols in multiple applications.
Imagine shortening the distance between idea and execution as Trade-Ideas reports on interesting stock moves and gives you the ability to decide on its merits in eSignal charts - without having to retype symbols!
In addition this integration works with eSignal embedded brokers like MB Trading and many others. You can click on a symbol in an alert window, quickly see the level 2 and chart and place a trade instantly.
Integrations with eSignal and recently with RediPlus underline our intention to serve our customers with technology that improves trading and reduces risk. We hope you agree.
Here is a link that describes the set up:

If there are any questions please let us know.
Sincerely,
Snuffy,
You are on the ball. Congratulations, you're one of the first to benefit from our recent integration effort with one of the most popular Direct Access Trading Platforms (DATPs) in the marketplace - RediPLUS.
Traders can now select a Trade Ideas alert and instantly populate their RediPLUS montage, charts, and order entry fields automatically. Thus giving them less set-up time and more time to decide whether to trade or not. That's time better spent on improving trades and managing risk!
This is the first of many integrations we plan to roll out with other DATPs - so if others are not using RediPLUS, fret not - send us a reply telling us what system you do use - and we'll put it on our list.
Please note our integration with RediPLUS follows our deliberate method of adding value to your trading experience: there continues to be nothing necessary to download in order to benefit from this integration. The steps are easy and are found at the link below:

Regards,
Trade Ideas just added a powerful new customization feature.
Currently you can click on a stock symbol from one of our alert windows, and you'll be sent to a Yahoo intraday chart.
Now you can choose whatever stock site you wish to see the stock linked to. Its powerful and simple to do.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/LinkDestination.html
Here is an excerpt from the Help section:
Link Destination
The link destination allows the user to select what happens when he clicks on a stock symbol. The user can select from a list of standard links, or can create a new link.
To create a new link, start by displaying a page that you like in a browser window. For example, the "http://www.stockcharts.com" for the address. Select "Point and Figure" from the drop down list. Enter "DELL" for the stock symbol. If you are not happy with this graph, look at all of the options on this web page, and continue to update the settings you like it.
To duplicate this graph, look at the URL in your browser window. For the example above, this would be "http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.pnf?c=DELL,P". On the Trade-Ideas "Select Link Destination" page select the "Custom" radio button. Copy everything before the word "DELL", in this example "http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.pnf?c=", and paste it into the first text field, right before the word "symbol". Copy everything after the word "DELL", in this example ",P", and paste it into the second text field, right after the word "symbol". Hit the "Accept Changes" button. Every time you click on a stock symbol on the Trade-Ideas website you bring up a chart like the one you started with.
If you have money to waste, I have some Swiss accounts that need filling.
Seriously, the amount you can expect in return from trading is based on several factors:
Total capital for trading
Knowledge of how you daytrade
Your direct access broker Margin or Cash account
Your lifestyle regarding your total monthly expenses
Technology and tools
My advice to you is do your DD (Due Dilegence) Meaning you are the only one responsable for any trade you get into.
Surround yourself with the best tools available - you rely on them more than ever when there's no longer a rising tide.
Base your technology decisions on a multi-variant criteria such as: features, real time information, hardware/software requirements, and of course cost/price.
One such service I recommend you consider is Trade-Ideas. It is a real time alert technology that, based on your parameters and filters, scans stocks for patterns that match your trading strategy. The result is a tool that helps you read the tape, make better trades, and manage risk.

Hope this helps you out.
Good luck,
D

More Alert Enhancements are here!
To Investors Hub users:
We added a filter to set highs and lows to specific time: 52 week, monthly, weekly or any type of days filter is now available. Just set the filter to the number of days you want to screen. Example 52 week highs=365 in the filter field.
We added throttles to the running up/down, consolidation, and channel break alerts. Users are able to put in a number between 1 and 10 in the filter field. The higher the number the higher the quality of the alert. Higher quality alerts appear much less frequently. This filtering is designed to give users that additional level of flexibility in being able to watch only very specific situations that are of interest.
The product is continuing to evolve and we appreciate all of the feedback.
Thanks,
David
New Block Trade Alert released !!
We have just released the Block Print alert. This alert, alerts you when any stock has a single print over 20K by default. You can then set the share threshold to whatever amount you want above 20K. This was requested by our institutional customers but I thought Elite traders may want to check it out. Here is a link to the description.

Best,

Improved List Capability
We added the ability for you to look at multiple lists in our alerts. Before you had to select one, now you can select several. For example if you had your portfolio split between two lists like: Long Positions and Short Positions, you choose them both and follow them in one alert window. Here is the description from the what's new section.

Snuffy,
Spotting block or program trades is easy with a Trade-Ideas alert window.
Simply choose our alert labeled, "High Relative Volume" in the Configure page of an alert window.
This alert captures sudden spikes in volume relative to the day's volume activity. This alert and the list of others can be found at this link:

Shari,
Thank you for trying the product and your feedback. The channel breaks you are looking at are a form of support and resistance, however, there are other ways in which you can use our product to spot support and resistance breaks. This evening we are adding a feature that will allow you to set additional filters for new highs and lows.
You will be able to say I want to see stocks that are breaking out above yesterdays high or below yesterdays low. Theses settings can also be used to spot 52 week highs lows etc. In your alert window the what’s new tag lets you know if we made recent additions to the software. If that tag is in bold that means we just added something.
More support and resistance patterns will follow soon like double top and bottom patterns. I hope this helps.
