Honestly I'm not a technical guy just a common sense guy that's asks why what's the problem and try's to figure it put and post what I think is the truth . Let us hope that we are all right
Imo We won't last more than 6 months after that
Overheard someone say it at the shm I don't remember who it was a lot to digest in 4 pr 5 hours and my head was spinning by the end. But that's what I overheard the are 10 s of conversations going on at one time
This not directed at you Odds
Do not expect any notifications about progress updates with the LSS from Lightwave until it is a done deal; apparently they were upset that Lightwave tipped their hand last time and the project is a big deal. I know that we as investors hate that but apparently that’s the way it has to be and yelling and beating the dog will not change a multibillion dollar project, it is what it is. As Z said at the SHM, advances made in that area will also help us with other devices (and there are others). Z said that he knows what’s next but chooses not to tell us, not because he can’t because he won’t. You either trust him or you don’t, if one doesn’t trust him then perhaps they shouldn’t be here.
Looks like 80 cents is the new norm and as some of the player’s exit it will be an excellent opportunity for those that want to stick their toe in the water and move in. I like buying at this 80 cent number, 80 cents to $1.60 and on to $8 IMO is definitely doable with 2 announcements and when they get out an announcement on a contract who amongst us will be selling? For now it is what it is, it is just a shame that it took them this long to get enough funding to set up things like they needed to tweak this in order to further this science or we’d be at 2 or 3 dollars. Over that time they’ve just plain wore us out getting there. It is only a matter of time now, the polymer is stable and very fast, and now they need the correct bandwidth, voltage, percentage of chromophore, and alignment etc. does that mean a week or another year who knows.
As for the advertising, IMO the general public Joe Blow types will have to hear the message over and over again, 99% will ignore and those that don’t will need to study it; I wouldn’t expect anyone to buy this based on just a message.
I know that many hate it when I’m positive but it is in my nature, those that feel better being miserable have it, X 90% positive and 10% negative.
Gotta Run
See Ya
Not sure, I already brought it up, we know he is still onboard because we saw him 2 weeks ago.
x
ALL IN ALL I’d say that it looks like a good job a couple new things I learned.
1V for 100 gig IMO that is a Huge power savings AND remember that more than likely those same savings could be realized across both Personal Battery Devices, Large Data centers, Drones, etc. but most won’t get it. Remember what Verizon said about operating costs being as important as the cost of the device. And then savings on the Air Conditioning to dissipate that heat (GREEN) HUGE, HUGE .
Optical Correlators Now That’s a new one for us to kick around.
If anyone has anything constructive TO ADD or that you think would help please post it, helpful is always better than goofy nit picky stuff, I’m sure that they will entertain any and all thoughts. If you want to post them on here I’ll gather them up or for those that have Z’s or Steves email them I’m sure they will be receptive.
Nice Job Profit this message board looks pretty good with your additions.

My point was that Cnbc is NOT where they ran the bit so why talk about it? politics is Never good for a message board guys
You have to love someone that criticizes one for not doing their homework then demonstrates that they haven’t done theirs.
Google can be tricky, I think that you have the TV and Radio shows mixed up. Of course CNBC is dying everyone knows that far far too left to hold a majority and Larry is on the right, go figure a far right guy on a far left TV station can not make it. As info Larry Kudlow was the host of CNBC’s primetime “The Kudlow Report” (7pm-8pm ET). - - - -> He hosts “The Larry Kudlow Show” on WABC Radio on Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm.
I have to confess though I only spent 5 minutes looking so if I’m wrong sorry, anyhow guys I’ll take a little press over no press. They just want to “Start to get Lightave Logic’s name out there”. A next generation of material that can control Photons using Electrons and ultimately Light Controling Light in Plastic is kind of like electricity replacing kerosene, it is hard for folks to understand.
Funny, I took a little trip over the weekend and there was a CNBC news stand in the airport, I walked up to the counter and asked if they had any FOX news hats.
LOL, X
I think they are focused on the NR and Indgo and the amounts in the different batches. IMO the rest of the different versions will prolly go with the IP to whoever buys us.
Summary we will be bought out. X
Honestly we probably shouldn't say much directly about it, and that is coming from X, LOL. This is my one shot.....
Uh I found the Bintz comment,,,,, The two companies are not comparable now unless you go back to when I was there and he said “we had all the money and you didn’t” comment reinforcing. That is when I came in the picture did a little research and basically made a guess before investing, it is just a shame that the Goetzs ended up in limbo for so many years because of the decisions that were made by those controlling the purse strings and apparently in search of a Nobel prize (That some day IMO will be awarded to the Goetz's). At the time Gig (Lumera) was priced at like 50 bucks a share, man, o man, o man, o man, I’m glad I wasn’t tempted by the dark side. To date Lightwave certainly hasn’t set the world of fire (yet) but talk about a spanking, no more like a beating or a near death experience those guys have suffered. I did say hi to Mrs. Goetz at the meeting and told her that I was making/continuing the effort on their behalf or something like that. (I did not reference Gig or that funding) Honestly I don’t think that she knew what I was talking about but whoever was with her smiled and appeared to know me or what I was referring to. Anyway, I felt good about it when I walked away.
Here’s one for you, if we only had 6 Million in the bank we could pay Gig to take our technology like Lumera did when their CEO resigned, they could not find another and then LITERARILY paid Gig to take the super duper secret EO molecule recipe, OK I’m done, LOL
I know that many don’t like it when I point it and post about it but it is still a VERY relevant and sorry and me posting about it helps me to remember those events, that due diligence, that call, and keeps me hanging in there. Lightwave will get it, and once they do LOOK OUT, As uh a few of the employees said at the meeting “X soon enough there will be no going back”.
IMO whoever is dumping at this price may end up chasing it, but you never know, cause I said that like 8 years ago. Timing the science is a tough call.
OPTIMISTIC AS EVER,
X
Since we now know that Indigo has 3rd Order properties it would seem that a Hugh advantage would be the ability to quality check devices using that method. In other words if one could check the alignment and purity of a sample by shining a couple of lasers on a device and moving it around before attaching/installing it or verify that waveguide didn’t have a dead spot or check the entire field prior to installing the gold electrodes sounds logical. I don’t know busy day but think about it they could map out an entire coupon and cut out or map out any bad spots. Honestly I haven’t a clue but I’m kind of thinking that would be a Hugh advantage over just a 2nd order material. As for the spin coating on/in a wave guide and poling it, I’m still a little fuzzy in that area. I need to watch it again do some more homework/study it more.
Just thinking out loud here.
Busy day not much time until next week I wonder how those trying to time this will make out?
X
I just listened to the SHM again. Yup not sure most will get this but Single Mode, Yup. Chi3 Indigo, hmmm, Yup that is 2 important things that I learned, oh and the borrowing cell technology thing. Somehow I think that when you put those together they will all be important factors that we'll be talking about going forward.
Single mode
Generally, singlemode cable provides less signal attenuation, higher transmissions speeds, and up to 50 times greater transmission distance than multimode cable. Singlemode cable can transmit data at terabits per second over 100km without requiring re-amplification of the signal.
Singlemode fiber typically has a diameter of only 8.3 to 10 microns, which is much narrower than multimode fiber which is usually 50 to 100 microns in diameter. The small core of a singlemode fiber allows for the propagation of only one light wave, so there is no possibility of distortion due to overlapping light pulses. Also, singlemode is more stable than multimode for systems that have branching devices, such as couplers.
Just sayin
X Boy
OK I’m back Snez n I were down at the beach checking out the 2013 swim suits n wraps.
New Web Site, Soon (Perhaps a week or 2 at the most?)
PR Media campaign national Radio thing (they want to get our name out there) some think that it is kind of cheesey but we need to start getting the name out there, I think it starts Friday a few blips here and there in New York and the West Coast, just a few investors a day will begin to push this up. Proly at first some will sell into it, then as it picks up momentum if executed properly she should head north again. Oh um Z said that part of the commercial could be redone in few days if/when that are awarded a contract and that was important for us to understand.
Modulators 101 by Leonnberger was interesting
The lab tour was very interesting I kinda sorta understand a lot more about the process and what all is involved.
I wouldn’t expect to hear anything about anything from Lightwave concerning the LSS until it is a done deal, apparently they don’t want to let the cat out of the bag and if they tell us something, well,,,,,you know how long it takes us to put 2 plus 2 together. This is their top priority.
A far as money I don’t that they are very concerned, at this stage taking anything substantial would require them giving away too much and they said that it wouldn’t be in our interest. They said something to the effect that most companies don’t want to be bothered with a small about (5-10 mil). Tom said that he was approached by several institutional types at that last presentation. Honestly I’m not worried about money, when they need it (like next year) they’ll get it.
Yes we were correct on the NSF grant the purpose of the grant is about commercializing the technology. I think they said like 1 in 8 are awarded money, or we have another request in something like that, kinda fuzzy on that point.
On the merger front they said that once they looked behind the scenes and studied the companies that we were considering merging with it did not look like a good deal for us so we said thanks but no thanks, I think that there were 5 or 6 and there is currently one left.
Oh on the Host material, this is NOT an issue, I forget the exact polymer but NO it is not a problem. They did say that when we read something online about a university using like PMMA and getting wonderful results the problem is that a couple days later it fades so we shouldn’t get our panties in a wad when we read about crazy numbers because to there knowledge nothing is out there with Perks advantages.
Gig they said is not issue, that patent thing, they just looked at the ceiling and rolled their eyes, something like “Oh Please X, that is not an issue, our material is completely different”
I was sitting behind Joe Miller and as Z said something to the effect that Look at the players whos names are associated with Lightwave and if Perkinamine didn’t have promise they certainly wouldn’t be anywhere near this. Joe did nod his head in agreement.
Oh Miller asked Bintz about Lightwaves characteristics and if he was aware of anything out there (Hint) comparable, Lou kinda danced a bit then said, NOPE, Perkinamine has properties that make it unique enough that we can do trade offs, in other words they need what we’ve got so some may need to bend a little bit to use our material.
Oh Steve did say something to the effect that once this takes off there won’t be any coming back.
The price is going to do what it is going to do, there is no way for most to possibly comprehend the potential or determine what market we will penetrate first, but IMO it will happen.
Oh Micholson said something about indigos Chi 3’s properties, Not sure that we ever heard that before. Chi3 is Third Order Light switching light, perhaps we did see that on a slide last year.
Oh and if you guys want to look around at something Look up Single Mode Fiber” Vs. Multi mode I think that the Perk will utilize that kind of fiber.
Rick where you at send n I are out here with the ducks ?
It looks like this answers the High Temp Plastic Semi conductor issue raised by Aggs.
Plastics are used extensively throughout the semiconductor industry, especially where high-temperature processing is required. Plastics are dimensionally stable at high and low temperatures, provide clean & contaminant-free surfaces, and are not affected by harsh chemicals, strong acids, or solvents. New plastics continue to replace metal parts for wafer handling, bearing surfaces, processing vessels, parts carriers, and IC test equipment sockets & handlers. For more information, select the link above.
Here is list of some of them and the max temp exceeds Perk.
http://www.boedeker.com/semiapp.htm
Reds I swear Ya never know with this stock what it is going to do.
I’ll check with someone Proto on the Gig patent, as I see it is one device, no big deal espectially when they are using words like “an epiphany in the approach to control of process and thermal variations”
I’ll also see if someone will give me an 8th grade level response to what the basic issue is holding them back on the modulator Aggs thinks it is the Host polymer. Honestly I don’t know but they usually respond when asked so I’ll give it a shot.
My truck is in the shop so I had time to spend a few minutes today, I haven’t done this in level II monitoring in Months, kind of nerve racking, I don’t how you guys do it day in and day out. I feel like a monkey on crack pushing the button for another fix rather than eating food.
X Boy
As I understand it, no you do not need a clean room, that may have changed though but as I understand it the room over in the technology park where Babu cooks the Perk is NOT a clean room. However that may be a different story when it is applied to the device, introduced to the host, poled etc. Honestly I don’t know, I just found it curious that the insurance company would buy a clean room and we would move in the headquarters only, maybe they did it for us on the come and perhaps it didn’t work out. I was driving my son to work and noticed only 2 signs not 3 and that’s why I posted it.
Actually Verse I think that particular web site was something pre Z days because it lists Marcelli as the CEO and that is where he was located. Steve Cordavano needs to contact the University of Mass and have the site updated. As info I think the NSF original connection goes all the way back to the Fred G days AFRL testing. What I’m excited about is that it appears that they FINALLY have the science to a point where they are confident enough that apparently they can get consistent results and then tweak it at the end to modify its performance and that once a WEEK the team will have to meet to discuss the 10 to 15 contacts made that week to determine a path forward OR not. I wonder what kind of presentation is being made? I'm betting Colorado did a little something. That is how I read it, and honestly No matter what they do they will never make everyone happy. Oh speaking fo the headquarters building Here is something to think about, that Broomhill and Hitchens office in the industrial park that the insurance company (conviently) leased (that had lab space and a clean room?) yadda yadda the headquarters address today, only has 2 signs in front, one is for the Broomhill and the other is Lightwaves. I wonder what is going on in that clean room? Proly just sitting empty, I mean how much can a clean room possibly cost, they probably turned it into a break room, or perhaps someone is working in there that doesn’t want to advertise it?
Yup 90% sure, for those who didn't poke around on site

IMO this NSF thing is more about shopping the Perk moving toward commercialization in OTHER markets and developing interest, slightly tipping our hand to generate interest. IMO by doing that not only will it lead to partnerships and outside funding but in a roundabout way it will also bring in investors.
This is where I’m coming from
The NSF organization is IIPthe division is Division of Industrial Innovation and Partnerships
The Directorate for Engineering's division of Industrial Innovation and Partnerships (IIP) serves the entire foundation by fostering partnerships to advance technological innovation and plays an important role in the public-private innovation partnership enterprise.
IIP seeks to successfully invest in science and engineering research across all disciplines that have the potential for high impact in meeting national and societal needs. To achieve this goal, IIP focuses on leveraging federal, small business, industrial, university, state and community college resources.
Genuine partnerships are an important aspect of IIP programs. These partnerships are dynamic and growing relationships based upon mutual interests, knowledge sharing, and trust. Genuine partnerships require vision, performance goals and benchmarks, and passionate and visionary leaders. They are bound by essential interdependency and shared commitment. IIP partnerships should facilitate the types of infrastructure that can sustain and nurture the spread of innovative activity.

Kind of poking around on this NSF thing, it looks like Lightwave will be required to reach out to between 5 and 10 CUSTOMER CONTACTS per WEEK and spend a minimum of 15 hours per WEEK in FACE to FACE meeting, (not dial in). I’d guess this is why JM got that raise that we questioned.
http://www.nsf.gov/news/special_reports/i-corps/mentoring.jsp
Folks I think the train is finally FINALLY getting ready to leave the station.
I don’t know, I don’t have all the answers. I post what I honestly think that is all. Proly the best person to ask about the SLM is Turpin (if he’s at the meeting) ask him and if you are not satisfied with the answer then do whatever you think is the right thing to vote against whatever board member caused the problem that you see. Hey this is a very complex science and what they THINK they can get to work, no guarantees, when you have something this complex nobody can tell you exactly how it will proceed. Think about it guys a Fempto Second, what 1 second is to 31 Million years. I mean wow that is fast computing with and an SLM that would be a million time s faster, what, honestly I don’t know.
My gut feeling about Lumera and Gig was correct years ago, could I be wrong about Lightwave today, heck ya, nobody gets it right all the time, but I do have a buy order in for more LWLG shares.
X
I voted FOR all. Call me crazy but I don’t think rocking the boat at this juncture it going to move anything forward faster. Better yet do this, check the box to vote AT the SHM button and ask the person that you have an issue with, one on one, prior to the meeting, what your beef is with the issue that you have, then walk to the person in the back of the room that has the ability to manually enters votes and tell them how to vote your shares. Honestly unless the Goetz’s vote one way or the other I don’t think that you will change anything.
Come to think of it, the way the corporations do it is kind of backwards, first they announce how the shares were voted then they tell you about what the plans are, if you think of it is kind of backwards.
Just a thought.
X
Agreed Gates there certainly appears to be a justifiable cause for concern, but quitting without notice sounds like he just split, emotional and that is why I went the route I did on my first post. As info BSmith, Geenlee was testing the Perk long before he joined so honestly I don’t think it had anything to do with the testing, I cannot rationally explain his departure perhaps Mr. Bintz getting promoted and who is “More Than Qualified” found something that rubbed him the wrong way and that had something to do with it.
We may be in the middle of something here that we don’t see, they cannot say publicly and we won’t fully understand until this all plays out.
Stay Tuned for the never ending saga.
X
I agree with you Gates, if this was so promising I don’t understand why he would quit either but the “without notice” part is key and hence when I weighed the facts I came the conclusion that I put on my first post and honestly it still makes sense to me. Or perhaps we was offended when they promoted Bintz and he thought that he was in line for promotion, perhaps he was doing/did something wrong, who knows. Reasons for leaving etc. are not public record, many times folks are given a notice of termination or the option and resign before it takes effect, his departure isn’t a key event, he was a tester like Teng used to be back in the day, he did set up the testing facility for us so he did add some value. But I agree, it is a reason to pause and think, I guess if we didn’t have Leonberger trying to work the Perk I’d be freaking out. I might be crazy but I’ve got a buy order in though and we’ll see if it fills.
X
As info, He said that he was made on offer to move to Cali and he took it, it was best for him and his family. San Francisco over Delaware, the folks out there are not exactly my cup of tea but whatever floats your boat.
X
It all depends on what market they are targeting because there are about a gazzilon different configurations but just to give you an idea it would look something like this multi mode variety.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Finisar-FTLX8571D3BCL-10Gbps-SFP-10GBASE-SR-SW-850nm-Optic-Transceiver-Module-/171074183608?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item27d4d0e1b8#ht_1346wt_1018
My guess is that they would be playing around with an nm in the single mode fiber range but honestly who the F knows we’re just guessing.
HOnestly I don't think that they are even targeting a specific market.
IMO it is all about getting it in a workable device and once they prove that they have invented an entirely new WORKABLE material, wham, end of game we’ll be taken out. It could even be by someone like Google.
X

Pretty cool stuff but in must be kept at absolute Zero(-273c) a centimeter square (thumb nail) sized chip inside a box the size of a shipping container and we thought that Gig packaging was expensive.
I’m Hanging in there guys and staying positive, not jumping on the complaining band wagon, that is too easy, I'm keeping on the rose colored glasses holding my chin high and waiting it out. When they can give us more they will, either they have it or they don't, all of the complaining the world is not going to change the NDA’s.

No, If I had to guess about the fund I'd say that it is proly somewhere where JM stuck some of LWLG's money. Looks like Fasick did indeed gift those shares to someone. I know there is a CPA here, if they are options that are not in the money I guess there wouldn't be any tax due. I can read between the lines, He is getting up there, I also did a little transferring of shares and estate stuff at the end of last week so it must be the season. No tax was due on mine, the old basis stayed with the shares that were transferred so I'd guess that is probably the same here.
X
llook at the codes open market or is it he gave to his ids kids ive seen them at shm
read those form 4s im busy see if they r any good or options
the grant z spoke about was federal im thinking the may be looking to sweeten the grant once it is approved
Pivot Point $1.30 heading down for 5 weeks or so.
I think I may have stumbled across what the governor was doing in the lab, probably looking for a matching SBIR grant similar to what Pro v12001 post number 3703 found that Lumilant received back in November.
http://dedo.delaware.gov/dedo_pdf/NewsEvents_pdf/minutes/2012/November26_2012_CDF_MeetingMinutes.pdf
Remember that Z mentioned that he didn’t want the specific SBIR or STTR’s made public, when that time comes he’ll do it. It doesn’t take long to find a few that fit our niche but no need to post them.
X
TH if I remember correctly didn't you move over from Lumera before Gig hammered them into the 1 for 8 reverse split about the same time Boca split?
