Bought a lot more today!
Pretty professional take down from 13 to sub 10.
Let’s hope it is now heading back up. I bought a ton more below $9. No wonder VTSI is weak!
That is true.
It just bugs me that he seems so unwilling to do everything within his power to elevate and improve the company. His seeming refusal to court the media and do the hard work necessary to promote the company products is disappointing.
The invisible CEO. So here you and I sit. We own shares of a company whose mission it is to save lives through better training of police. A company that claims to be a leader, one with products made to improve performance with better decisions and deescalation.
Why isn’t our CEO out in front of the cameras, doing newsprint, radio interviews all in the name of promoting the company TO SAVE LIVES?
Does Ferris think it is acceptable to be this quiet?
There are so many opportunities yet he fails to take advantage.
If I wasn’t confident I would sell it and move on. I still own it and have added. But it is a small position for me. I like others better but I always like to own a few little biotechs.
For every one PD that struggles to secure funding there are 10 others that are literally swimming in money. Right now there is so much money flooding into towns, cities, counties, and States that it is impossible to spend it all. Look at the recent “COVID stimulus” bill that was passed. Over $500 billion is going directly to States slush funds.
Two decent sized insider buys on March 18th at about $1.40 usd.
Then it’s instantly a $30 stock.
I hope the CEO does exactly that.
The 9.40 stock price is almost criminal and it is a huge opportunity for buyers to make a ton of money.
Criminal because trailing PS is 0.3 and PB is 0.7 and Ev/ebitda is 3.8.
And the above does not factor in the upcoming Q1 which ends in 12 days.
Criminal because lumber remains strong and first half of Q2 is already locked in at breathtaking numbers.
Pulp prices were recently upped and another price increase coming on April 1st. Not little ones, + 1 or 2% but BIG increases on the order of +15%.
I project the following for full year 2021:
$3.6billion in revenue.
$4.555 in EPS.
BV of $18.
Stock price in November of $24.
Compare my earnings and revenue numbers to the 4 analysts, Several have figured out that Q1 will be excellent but their Q2/3/4 estimates are silly low.
RFP is my number 1 position and I buy more shares every day. Anything sub-$15 right now is a gift. Anything sub-$20 after Q1 is announced in early May is a gift.
Awesome post!
It proves that VirTra has NOT gotten the word out to many PDs that this training exists.
It proves that municipalities CAN act very quickly to allocate money to buy.
Best of all it VALIDATES the product.
What I’m trying to say is that it proves that a better sales and marketing effort is needed by VirTra and if they do up their game sales will explode upward.
You are likely correct but I have seen him evolve a bit in a good way over the last few years.
For example, 5 years ago he didn’t seem to believe they needed any sales people out in the field. Yet now they continue to grow their regional sales force throughout the country.
In the Gomes interview he stated $50mil revenue goal. You could tell he was reluctant but he knew he had to do it and he did.
He also has finally stuck with the same IR guys for a couple years instead of switching every year.
But I admit he remains a poor judge of talent. He does not know how to hire the best and brightest and let them perform. The company values the wrong things like loyalty and effort rather than performance and results. He doesnt understand that a top sales guy is THE most important asset a company can have and it is ok for that person to be paid as such. He worries far too much about competition instead of driving aggressive growth.
All that said though, he is still an above avg CEO for a company this size.
Perhaps.
But look back at the revenue numbers for Q1, Q2, Q3 in 2020.
Imagine how 2021 will look in comparison.
The stock will move higher. The only question is how much.
I will also say this. While many here including me enjoyed the Gomes interview from late January it was not a good look for either VirTra or Ferris. Dark outdoor interview from a balcony in Miami? That was stupid. If VirTra wants institutional investors and funds he needs to court them like a big boy and not a pretender.
He still does not fundamentally understand how investors think and act or understand why it is important. We will see if he starts to get it on March 29th.
Remarkable how so many retailers have left the stock at the absolute worst time. Just ahead of a huge growth spurt. $5 now is same as 25cents before the splits.
Estimates:
2021 vs 2020 will be......
$30mil in revenue vs. $19mil. +50% growth.
Eps of 45cents vs 5cents
Year end stock price of $20 vs $4
All the above assumes ZERO fed gov contracts.
350acres in that area is worth between $1million and $3million. Insignificant.
Look at the MLS listing.
It will be Tuesday, just not sure which week.
Even though I own shares, I know NOTHING about this sort of company. I own shares cuz they were recommended by someone I trust.
Anyway, my question is simple. When will the company start ramping up revenue in a significant way? What sort of revenue level is needed for propfitability?
At some point today or this week the March lumber futures roll off and the May futures will be the ones quoted. Will likely start in the mid-800s and then creep upward. Same as last several times.
Tuesday
We have been in with size for over 6 months. Avg .13cents.
It should get to about 1.50 pretty quick, several months.
Then they gotta produce some numbers.
Here are my questions.....
1. In your January, 2021 investor conference viewable on YouTube with Mark Gomes you publicly spoke of a $50million revenue objective. Is this for 2021?
2. Please update the status of the large Military contract you have mentioned several times in the last 18 months?
3. Does the VirTra Advisory Board still meet on a regular basis? Who are the members?
4. Is VirTra actively looking for acquisitions? Why else would you choose not to deploy your excess cash?
5. How many regional sales managers are there in the USA Today?
6. What is your number 1 impediment to faster growth?
7. Why does your BOD refuse to buy VTSI shares?
Oops, better quit before I get chippy.
Three people asked questions at the Q3 conf call:
Jason Schmidt of Lake Street Capital
Richard Baldry of Roth
Allen Klee of National Security Corp.
VirTra stopped taking questions from private investors about 2 years ago.
So on the date they announce Q4, for all practical purposes Q1 is finished. Why not provide us with some pretty firm Q1 guidance? Better yet, full year 2021 guidance.
I own stock in 17 other companies as of today. 14 of those have provided full year 2021 guidance. To be fair, some of the guidance is a little vague but some is very detailed.
He also is not a believer that relationships are what is most important. How can I be sure of that statement? Because our CEO does not believe a gifted salesman has a skill that is of the utmost importance to the company. He does not fundamentally believe a great salesman should be heavily compensated. He does not believe in rewarding performance via commissions. It is as if our CEO has never worked for a great top tier company. Oops, he hasn’t. Perhaps that explains his learning curve. VTSI shareholders continue to suffer.....at least til late May!
Again, our CEzo is above average for this size company. He has the capacity to become great. But he has to recognize his own strengths and weaknesses and act accordingly. If he would simply (and it isn’t simple) hire a great salesman to lead Sales and then let the person do his job our CEO would be considered a genius overnight and all shareholders would be happy. It truly is that simple!
To put it simply, the CEO seems to believe “if we build it, they will come.” Or another way to say it is “we will sit back and wait for the phone to ring.” If he is right then that is a great efficient way to sell.
However, I would argue the last 5 years have proven this approach does not work.
Selling systems in this price range is about personal relationships between the salesman and the customer. This needs to happen consistently over many months, and sometimes years. It is work, it is a skill, but it is also straightforward and simply takes effort and persistence. Our CEO is finally starting to understand this but it has taken too long.
Awesome day! Pushing $13.
Minneapolis just agreed to pay Floyd’s family $27million.
Money.....Why a PD cannot afford not to have VirTra training.
Interesting way to look at VirTra. Agree.
....because it might not get to 1.50.
My guess is it closes tomorrow around 2.60
You do realize they didn’t really launch until the second week of January.
Today’s report was Q4, not Q1.
I bought lots more after hours.
It could go to 1.50....but I doubt it.
Listen to the cc replay.
I suspect EVOK gets bought out late this year. Good time to buy after hours today. I didn’t expect any sales in Q4. Q1 will show a couple million and up and up.
Forgot to mention, his recent CFO hire is an embarrassment. Obvious that it was a sloppy hire without any sort of in depth background check.
Bought a ton sub$4.
Long cash runway.
Will sell most at $8.
I started building a major position. And already a little green!
Quite the biotech soon last couple weeks= opportunity!
The last 2 days confirmed the dragonfly. Up up up it goes.
Awesome time to be buying EVOK
This should have already hit $2.50.
I’m buying more, a lot more!
Should push $7 today and PS still way way below 1. BV also well below 1
Looks like 10 pretty soon.
15 by Thanksgiving.
I truly hope for all VTSI owners that the stock goes on a nice run upward.
Part of the reason I post what I do is to prove to to the VirTra CEO that nothing said on any message board has an impact on the stock. Either good or bad or up or down. And that applies to every stock on every message board.
CEO Ferris is a good steward of the company and has the potential to rise from an adequate CEO to a great one. But he must harness the opportunity right in front of VirTra. It has been presented on a silver platter and is there for the taking. The country and its police are hungry and clamoring for training. The military has decided virtual training is a benefit. Our CEO needs to recognize his own strengths and weaknesses and devote effort in an optimum way.
The company is doing ok but it could be doing spectacular.
They need a Salesman at the head of Sales.
They need a big time CFO capable of using leverage to GROW FASTER.
They need our CEO to focus on technology roadmap and be an aid to selling product.
BOD needs major overhaul. They are invisible, they don’t own many shares. They don’t care about shareholders.
But all that said, the company will have a very good 2021 and the stock will rise a lot. It still saddens me that we have to settle for a double or triple when a 10bagger is so very doable.
Accumulation continues!
$10 coming soon, this month EASY!
